My refund just hit my account!
Mine was in my account this morning too.
Update: I checked Maine WMR today (2/9) and the message changed to “Your refund will be processed on 02/08/2023. Please allow 1 week for the money to be deposited in your account.”
Return accepted 2/1. Previous message was “Your return has been processed. You should receive your refund within 3 weeks of this date.”February 8, 2023 at 7:20 pm in reply to: Paypal said it switched routing numbers the day i did my taxes #4528802I got the e-mail too and it did say they would still be doing deposits for the old routing number and would notify the sender of the updated one. I don’t think it will cause an issue. Banks change routing numbers all of the time.
We have a state forum specifically for Iowa. You may have better luck posting there and reading through previous year’s comments to get an idea on the timeline.
Great to know! Thank you for sharing!
It can vary from year to year depending on how long the IRS takes to process you and what credits you are claiming. If you have EIC or ACTC then those refunds cannot be released until after 2/15.
I’ll leave a couple links below that may help you with your refund hunt.
Update Calendar
https://igotmyrefund.com/irs-update-calendar-for-transcripts-and-wmr/PATH Act
https://igotmyrefund.com/why-do-i-have-the-path-message-on-irs-wheres-my-refund/Theoretically it should go faster since you won’t be subject to the PATH Act hold that doesn’t end until 2/15. If you’re able to, check out your IRS transcripts to see if you’ve had any movement in processing. They can sometimes give you clues about where you are in the process.
This link will tell you a bit more about them.
https://igotmyrefund.com/transcripts/I dont even listen to that anymore considering last year I filed 2/1 and received 2/8 fastest turn around ever with CTC no EIC
CTC is not a credit that gets held by PATH. The ADDITIONAL Child Tax Credit (ACTC) and EIC are the only two.
This link further discusses the different credits and where to find them in your return.
https://igotmyrefund.com/why-do-i-have-the-path-message-on-irs-wheres-my-refund/
Filing with a dependent and claiming the Child Tax Credit (CTC) does not mean you are subject to The PATH hold. The credits for PATH are Earned Income Credit (EIC) and the ADDITIONAL Child Tax Credit (ACTC).
If you have received a refund date already then you did not claim either of these credits.
This link further discusses the different credits and where to find them in your return.

Just a little update from me. Filed 1/20 and finally accepted 1/31. Day of acceptance Maine WMR showed they received my return. On 2/1 the refund status changed to “Your return has been processed. You should receive your refund within 3 weeks of this date.” I will continue to check and update if/when it changes to a DDD or if the deposit just shows up in my account.
Welcome to the 2023 filing season!
Has anyone filed their Maine return yet? Has it been accepted? Any updates on your Maine WMR?
Let’s keep each other updated :)

This thread is for anyone who would like tigerlili’s help. She has been nothing but forthcoming with the information she can provide. If you do not want her help, that’s fine. There are a thousand more topics you may find more helpful to your refund hunting needs.
There has been some concern over the information exchanged. I can assure people that routing numbers are not private information. Most banks even list them right on their websites. As Tigerlili has said in the post, she will never ask for account numbers, nor should they ever be shared.

This is a good question for the NY state forum.
https://igotmyrefund.com/forums/topic/new-york/There’s a California forum that you can post CA info in. I’m sure it would be helpful to someone else going through it!
https://igotmyrefund.com/forums/topic/california/Unless things have changed this year, DDs are usually Monday’s. This coming Monday is a holiday so the next DD should be for Tuesday. I usually see my DDs pending in my account the Friday before so anyone getting theirs deposited with accounts that don’t hold, it’s possible you could get it Friday. There’s also a very good chance it could hit your account before the status even updates on the website.

We have received confirmation of 846 popping up on some transcripts (no PATH credits). We expect WMR will update overnight tonight with a DDD for 1/28 for them and remove the 9001.
Your cycle code translates to the day you posted to the master file. 20180705= Feb 15, 2018.
The 570 is what the hold up is. 570 means “additional liability pending” which makes it so a refund can’t be released until the action is resolved. It can be placed on the account for so many different reasons and s generally followed by either a 971 code or 571. For a refund to be issued you need the magic 846 code.
You can look up what each transaction code means here: https://igotmyrefund.com/irs-transaction-codes-and-error-codes/@Cassie: The TOP line is only for non-tax debts. Is there a chance you owed Maine back taxes?
Hey guys! I guess there was already a forum started for 570 so maybe we can get the updates over there?

@Tara: I did and it did not prove anything other than your refund was approved without those credits. I mean you could have filed with them, but according to your account transcript they were not included with your refund (possibly denied them?). The reason I asked you for your codes is because those show exactly what credits were paid out and none of those codes were PATH credits. Your screenshot of your account transcript on Twitter only confirms that further . So with all of the facts now here, it’s up to everyone to decide for themselves.
@Tara: Unfortunately that does not “prove” anything. You just gave me all of the codes from your transcripts and none of them were the credits for PATH, but everyone is welcome to form their own opinion on it.
Sorry sweetie, but none of those codes indicate that you had either of the PATH credits.
806- Taxes withheld
826- Overpayment sent (offset paid)
971-Notice Sent
971- Notice Sent
846- Refund of overpayment (refund released)https://igotmyrefund.com/irs-transaction-codes-and-error-codes/
@Tara: What are your transaction codes listed on your account transcript? (Not your cycle code). You should at least have the code 150, but what others are listed under that?
We ask that anyone who would like to submit “proof” to upload their image to Instagram or Twitter using #igmr.
I would also like to remind everyone to not post any personal or identifying information (including e-mails).By law employers are required to have wages reported to SSA by January 31st each year. Unless you are self employed, checking SSA for wages doesn’t really do anything.

Your transcript must have the 846 Refund Overpayment (release) code in order to use your cycle date to figure out your DDD.
Hi All!
My Maine WMR page updated today with: “Your refund will be processed on 02/10/2018” but it’s been pending in my credit union account since yesterday. Unfortunately for me it it shows a 2/12 (Monday) settlement date which I am guessing because my credit union doesn’t deposit transactions on a weekends. Before it updated with the 2/10 date I had the generic “your refund will be deposited within 12 business days”
Hope this helps guys :)@lance: Maybe just wording it a bit nicer or not coming off so abrasive may have a little more impact on getting your point across :)
No one on PATH is going to see their refund prior to 2/15. They will not be sent until the C- Freeze code on the accounts is released.
21.5.6.4.5.1 (12-20-2016)
C- Freeze – Refund Holds
The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (the PATH Act), was enacted on December 18, 2015. The PATH Act contains several changes to the tax law that affect individuals, families, and businesses, and help safeguard against tax fraud. The PATH Act mandates that the IRS not issue any refund on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until February 15th.
All current year tax returns that claim EITC and ACTC filed before February 15th, will contain a C- freeze on the account, to hold the refund.
Prior to February 15th, the refund cannot be released:
by inputting any type of adjustment to the account
due to a hardship (hardships will not be considered as long as the C- freeze is on the account). This includes the part of the refund that is not associated with the EITC or ACTC.
The C- freezes will be systemically released on February 15th. Refer to IRM 21.4.1.4, Refund Inquiry Response Procedures, and IRM 21.4.1.4.2, Return/Refund Located, for additional information.
https://www.irs.gov/irm/part21/irm_21-005-006r#idm140050723433120No one with PATH has received their refund or even a DDD. That won’t happen until after the 15th.
February 9, 2018 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Bars Gone and Path Message..but I don't have Path credits #4211722@Pat Wilson: I would double check your return because the 766 code means refundable credit. Chances are you actually did qualify.
I think the wrong Brittany keeps getting tagged. @Brittany is on PATH and does not have the 846, where as Brittany Tonarella is not on PATH and her refund was approved.
Just wanted to clear up this confusion before it gets too carried away :)
No. Those who are held by PATH have a freeze on their account that is set to release starting the 15th. It is called a C- Freeze and is not something that is seen on any transcripts. PATHers will not see any updates to transcripts or WMR until AFTER the 15th.
You can read all about the C- Freeze from the IRS Manual here: https://www.irs.gov/irm/part21/irm_21-005-006r#idm140050723433120
20180605 = February 8, 2018

@Tish: No one with EIC (or ACTC) will see their refund prior to 2/15. The IRS has an invisible freeze (C- Freeze) on those accounts that will fall of on 2/15.

@Heidi G: I had to remove your other topic because you accidentally created a new Maine group, but I didn’t want your information to be lost so I posted it for you in the correct spot lol. I have pretty much decided that Maine does whatever they feel like when it comes to refunds haha. They have it written right on the top of the Refund Status Lookup page that they only update Tuesday and Friday nights, but clearly that hasn’t been the case for a lot of us.
