I too was accepted 2/1. Went to in review which I think now in hindsight was a generici message due to path. Went to to Processing and no change since. I called too and after 2 hours all they told me was yes they have it in its being processed and I should use the website. Useless useless!!!!! -

What’s up with NYS? So bizzarre! How could they say they process refunds in 3-4 weeks. It’s been 5 weeks and I was accepted then into review back to processing and no movement for weeks. 86 min wait time at 8:30am too!!!! I just want an update! Anyone accepted 2/1 and got their refund?!

So I went online to my account the respond to. Notice is there but it’s not saying what they need exactly so I don’t know what to send them. It says it could be multiple things they need or one thing so I’m not lost. It says DTF-948 respond to RFI. So it doesn’t say exactly what is needed

I am on the same boat! my status keeps saying unavailable and I was accepted 1/31/2023. Whenever I call I get no info other than its processing. ridiculous, I ask why when I try to track it it says that there is no status available to call the number listed for additional details but when you end up calling the agents are no help.

Not sure what going on. I filed 1/26 and was accepted 1/30. When I first checked a few weeks later I was on “further review.”. A week after that I was updated to “was revived and being processed.” I just checked today and now it’s saying they have no information on my return.

Filed 2/6 accepted 2/9 never went on further review. Which is odd because almost everyone seems like they did. Just got a ddd for 2/23 this afternoon. im shocked. i thought for sure the further review would pop up. Last year was on it forever. filed first week of march and received state in july!!!
But federal has a ddd for 2/23 too so for the first time ever getting both on the same day.

She told me I “have to follow the instructions carefully”. I think i was randomly selected to ID verify, but if I didn’t call how would i even know that? No letters no nothing. My account on the IRS doesn’t say I need to verify! This whole thing is WILD! All this security is really a burden to people who have the same info, same job, same dependents.

What they are doing is SICK. I’m still in FR (accepted 1/31) in New York. My Federal is on “still being processed” after I filed on 1/24 AND to top it all off my transcripts never updated. So, I called. The rep didn’t even want to look into my account until I said it has been passed my 21 days and I have no updates, basically begged for her to at least check. She then puts me on hold for 10 min, comes back and says they “stopped processing” my return and I am sending you a letter.

I do think it’s somewhat linked to the federal and path act. Based on previous years I’m expecting to see ddd for both I’d say 2/22, 2/23 or 2/24.
Last year I got both the same day.

In my experience it’s hasn’t been linked to path…I am always on path and my Nys generally comes between the 7th and 12th of February

I do think it’s somewhat linked to the federal and path act. Based on previous years I’m expecting to see ddd for both I’d say 2/22, 2/23 or 2/24.

I went from the “no information message” back to FR this morning :-( oh well. I never get my state until PATH lifts anyway so hopefully next week we’ll see some movement in the right direction.

I’ve seen a few people saying that there seems to be a connection with their NY refund being approved and PATH. Since 2018 my NY refund statuses have changed to approved after PATH lifted. Just sharing info:
2018- approved 2/20, ddd 2/23/18
2019- approved 2/19, ddd 2/22/19
2020- approved 2/18, ddd 2/20/20
2021- approved 3/5/21, ddd 3/8/21
2022- approved 2/24, ddd 2/25/22 -
well now its two weeks on this further review crap.. im starting to wonder if state is holding of the path message for federal.. because last year i got my state once the path was lifted and i got my money then state issued mine right after

My refund was processed. I got a message on the portal around 5PM saying my refund has been issued and that I should receive by 2/10. Never went to further review.

I was scouring the web about the further review message..after checking out all over social media and other forums, it seems like at least 95 percent or more has the further review message…must be a system issue with how many there is..it seems like a lot haven’t even gotten acceptance acknowledgments quickly either

Only change was this morning when I checked my NYS account online, this year’s tax filing was posted. So it’s moving along slowly. They say that the State has nothing to do with the Federal PATH act, but I have never received my State before my Federal. So I’m not expecting any real movement in State until after PATH is lifted. -
I’m beginning to think that “further review” is here to stay and is just part of the NYS process now.
Unfortunately, it has been around for years. In the late 90s it use to say may require further review and can take up to 30, 60 or 90 days. And what sucks is that it can take 1 day or 3 months to go back to processing or an audit. NY has and will always SUCK! Just pray you don’t get caught up in the matrix too long.

Last year I was accepted on 1/24 and did not receive my refund until 2/24 – was in pending further review for weeks. Thinking that’s their standard now and they take a month to process returns

NYS is on a ROLL this year … filed AMENDED return for state and federal 4/20/22 .. accepted same day .. FUNDS from NYS amended return were deposited last night around 10:30 pm .. as of date for federal amended is 5/16/22 .. hopefully they process it soon

FINALLY … after 2 months of getting the maintenance message I finally updated with DDD for Friday April 1st .. I haven’t been able to see my status online up until about a week ago .. ACCEPTED back on January 29th .. ONLINE has not updated with the DDD yet but the automated line on the says it was processed THANK GOD

Yeah they got it on the 28th but still nothing saying it can take 90days from February 28th I getting audit for daycare I guess I was they just send part at least but when u call its the same answer it takes up 2 90 days -
Go to the department of taxation and finance for New York State and login then to the left you’ll see a drop-down menu click where it says respond to letter and click that and see if you received a letter or not. Mine was like that showing the maintenance thing even during business hours and I received a letter so check and see.

@patrickewingIf it is a RFI letter upload your W2 and something showing you have been in same NY address entire year. If you have dependents upload something like school form that shows they lived with you. I sent my W2 and lease agreement that showed we all lived in same address. Check your account, left side bar, respond to a notice, see what kind of letter and respond now so you get off require review faster than them sending you the letter.

@Candi so what I sent was my W2, my lease agreement showing ive been living in the same NYS location the entire year including showing my dependents lived in same address for entire year. so if you have dependents make sure you have something with your address for them and W2s. Upload that so its faster otherwise you will be waiting 60days but responding now you can shorten the time to 30days or less. NYS sucks.

Same thing happened to me. It shows deleted. I called this morning 8am on the dot and spoke to someone whom told me that they do not know what the letter says or how long to process. That the RFI letter will be mailed around 3/3 or a week later from the date on the account. Number to call is 518-457-5181

Don’t look at message or notifications
Look on the left side bar find where it says “respond to a notice” iclick that and it will show the letter they will send if there is one and options to view and respond. Hope this helps and hopefully you don’t have a letter -

Decided to pop in for a minute. My boyfriend got his federal last week. He was suppose to get his state deposited this morning and he never got it. I am seeing someone else with the same issue. We owe nothing, i logged into his online account no letters. Federal was fine… weird right?

WORST NEWS EVER! for those of you who have been on FR for more than 2 wks or cannot see your status online means a letter has been drafted. I called again and they are sending me a later for more info. I have the online acct so i was able to look at it and send the docs online but still 3 weeks at FR and for a letter is dumb. Anyone else with either issues should look on their online account just in case.

I finally got my DDD for 2/28 after 4pm today. I got accepted 1/24 then it went to further review for a week then back to processing for 3 weeks… glad that’s over! See you all next year. Hoping everyone who hasn’t updated yet will do so overnight.

welcome to the club. I filed 1/21, accepted 1/25 processing then on 2/3 further review and I AM still further review today! FYI i got my fed on 2/3 no issues.
As per my convo with state yesterday its basically thrown to the back of the line and you wait until your return comes back up.
If it says no other info at this time means nothing wrong with the return just not cycled yet.
AND she said this status can take 1-31 days to change. SOOOOOOO………. NYS sucks. -
Filed 1/31 accepted 2/01 miss info for a week updated to processing for 5 days then last Thursday went to under further review and haven’t updated since smh. Is this a further review a place holder for slow processing on there part because it doesn’t make any sense that many people are getting this including people that just filed and are accepted no processing just straight to further review.

Anyone else use TaxSlayer and have a DDD for today only to wake up and not have refund deposited? I checked my tax return and there is a random routing and account number. Upon investigation, that routing number belongs to Civista Bank, which is part of SBTPG, which is how fees are paid for TaxSlayer. But what I’ve also read is that fees are taken out of federal not state. My federal return has my normal routing and bank account number.

This year I was processing then FR 2/3 then back to processing on 2/16.
Last time it did this was 2019. FR message on Tuesday 2/5/19 Back to processing on Monday 2/11/19. 12 days later 2/22/19 I received my DDD message. I got my DD on Wednesday 2/27.

Called today, was told still processing, Asked about them needing my W2 & she said that must be FEDERAL asking, I said no my federal is already deposited. I feel like we will update over the weekend maybe. I got accepted 1/24 I called today and he said he can see it’s processing and that my refund will be offset by the MTA, so that’s more information than anyone else has provided. Said he can’t give me a date but it seems it will be very soon because it’s done processing.

yea in 2020 i was in further review for 3 days then back to processing….. i went to further review 2/3 its been 8 days so far never went this long ever being in further review….. yea i do see alot of people going to further review this is just a mess this year hopefully i dont sit here forever

Not sure if this is helpful but I always get the review message every year and always get my return before March. Ok I lied, 1 year I got it on March 1st but it was because of a missing employer W2 and wage verification. I think a lot of people get the review message.

I understand what the rep was saying because yes technically your information won’t match until your return has finished processing but it seems unnecessary to me. I don’t see why the message can’t simply say that your return has been received and is being processed.

I still have the info doesn’t match message so I called just to make sure that they do have my return. The rep looked it up and said that my return is there it’s just processing. She said that the “info doesn’t match message” is because when you type in your refund amount the system doesn’t have that information yet since it’s still processing so that’s why people are seeing that message.

I checked state taxation website and saw if on further review it will say the problem or show that a letter was sent if something was wrong. it seems they are really behind and that’s the “further review” if it went to get manually reviewed it will show something like (further review for another 60 days etc). In the past 6 years I have gotten my NYS refund in about 5 weeks landing on the same cycle code day as fed return -

I have had this in years past. In 2019 it was on further review for about a week then went back to processing. I did get my return before the end of Feb. In 2017 however I went on further review 2/5 and didn’t get my refund until May/ No way to gage how long we are stuck on this message.

Woke up this morning to a DDD of 2/10/22. I am a pather so I have not even received my federal yet. Fastest NYS has ever processed me. I filed on 1/27/22 and was accepted the same day.

Just called again the rep said that most of her calls all day were because of the incorrect information issue and told me mines was processing. Yesterday I was told I may need further review so hopefully this means I don’t and I can get a ddd soon.

I have had that same message i filed 1/27 accepted the next day. I get different answers everytime I call. I see A TON of people with this so called glitch the tax department calls it. It’s insane. -

I filed my Federal and NY on 2/3. NY accepted my return on 2/4. I checked yesterday and today and I’m getting the “your info doesn’t match” message too but after the weekend from hell that we had here with the ice storm I’m thrilled just to have our power back on. Our water (and everyone else’s) is still frozen, there’s no available hotel rooms anywhere, I can’t do laundry and I’ll have to throw away everything in our fridge but we have heat and lights again!

Also got requires further review… why are so many of us getting this message? Seems like a lot of us are having issues and only a few are getting DDDs. It’s not like I’m getting a whole bunch back this year! Maybe they took the people processing PEBT for NY and gave them jobs in Taxation and Finance for the season because it seems like just as much of a hot mess lol!

i think it just means the same thing maybe they just changed the wording of it because i have it also and nothing changed in my state in 10 years so it can be anything to serious.. i just think a bunch of us got picked for random fraud checks like they do every year

I think there having problems with the system and they don’t even know what’s really going on. I file the same every year except this year I did look back it makes no sense and 2 workers have told me the numbers I have are correct. Maybe because the federal hasn’t processed yet I don’t really know. -

I just called again because they keep telling me info is incorrect. This time she said it may need further review she wasn’t sure why the system says info is incorrect. I asked her was that here speculation or is the system saying that she said it was hard to explain it was an internal thing.

Congratulations to those who got ddd! Don’t lose faith yet guys to those who didn’t. It seems to be a smooth process this year just a little slow. If it makes anyone better it seems a lot of you got your federal already I’m over 21 days with no update or bars and that’s my big bucks. No letters nothing just in the dark. So the wait I know is ANNOYING at this point. Especially when it’s ours!

Just checked online and I don’t even have e a confirmation letter for my 3/4 date. I also realized it says it’s scheduled to be sent NOT deposited on the 4th. So hopefully tomorrow. Sucks because my job is having issues with payroll and I was counting on the funds to play catch up on some bills.

What time does the state IRS send out ach credits for direct deposits? I mean i have a ddd of 3/3, i am a little confused how i am not seeing it in my bank account already. What was the purpose of even choosing the credit karma account to have the money deposited into if i dont get it in advance? They advertise get refund up to two days earlier. Well this does not seem to be the case.

Shades, NY doen’t have or give access to transcripts so I don’t think anyone can answer when they send. With federal the day the 846 code goes on there, that’s the day they issue it. Not the date they say but he day it goes on the transcript is the issue date. Your bank deposits early so you should have received it already if NY sent it. The plus side is you know the latest you’ll get it is tomorrow. That’s all I was saying.

@steph72 some people listed they got their return for 3/1 on 02/26. Which is 2 days before. I guess im asking when does NY state send info to the banks regarding the payment. If they paying tomorrow they have to at the latest notify bank today about this which means if this was the case my bank would post for me today. Just saying.

@shades: If NY doesn’t release the funds until 3/3 it doesn’t matter who you bank with because that’s the date anyways. At least you know it’s coming by tomorrow. And the folks that had 3/1, most received early because Saturday reads as Mondays date (next business day) even for traditional banks such as Chase. Bank of America, TD, Citi and Wells Fargo. So you can’t really go off of people that had Monday as a ddd.

Quite a few people are posting they were accepted on the 17th and got a ddd not today for 3/3. To my fellow 2/18s hopefully we’re tomorrow with a ddd for the 4th.

Very frustrating. And I saw a handful who were accepted by the 16th get ddd for 2/25 and 3/1 and then others still sitting on processing. NY has no consistency other than delays. It’s as if they just stopped giving dates. smfh

I created a user account so they email me with my ddd. Those emails never come before 4pm. The earliest I’ve received dd emails was 4:43pm and the latest was 10:19pm last year. When I’ve been audited the emails came in the morning. If you don’t want to keep checking the refund status, sign up for an account and request to be notified by email when your return is processed.

I usually check at that time as I’m not lucky enough to get it before 4. If nothing, then I’ll check tomorrow unless i get an email with my ddd. I looked back at past years and I’ve updated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Still processing & funny thing my federal wmr bars disappeared today stating a refund date will be available when possible no hold of my transcripts (n/a).

@Sage08: @AleciaS: you guys are lucky, there was only 1 year I got my state the same day with fed and I’ve been filing for 30 years. NY has always taken a minimum of 2-3 weeks and can take months, especially if you get audited. They use to update from processing to your return requires further review and may take 30, 60 or 90 days. I hated those messages. And what’s worse is there’s no reason, so you can’t pinpoint what the problem may or may not be.

If you look back on this thread for years past, you’ll see it’s not new for NY to delay. You have to be thankful when you process quickly. NY is just Gangster like when it comes to processing returns in a timely manner. I have noticed updates before 12 is always further review or an audit. Updates late afternoon is ddd or back to processing if you were on further review. I check at 12 and then again at 4pm.

@sage08 I have always received my state refund before my federal refund…my federal refund was deposited today and no movement on my state.

State taking unusually longer than normal for others as well? I usually always get state in a day or two range with federal.

@Shades: unfortunately there’s no way to tell if NY’s tracker is working or not because there are issues every year. There are people that stay on processing, flip flop between further review and processing, stay on further review for weeks/months or get audited. No rhyme or reason, NY does what they want, when they want. I’ve been on processing since 2/18, but to be honest I rather processing than further review. We honestly just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed.

WMR is broken this year. i wouldnt go by that. However anyone know if this is the case with the NYS refund tracker? Been stuck with the same message “We have received your return and it is being processed. No further information is available at this time. See Understanding your refund status on our website.” since Feb 17. Anyone know if they are processing or sending out DDDs without updating the site just like the federal one?

@Nana72: Unfortunately I’m unable to check my transcripts so I guess I will just continue to wait, H&R has been funky I was accepted January 10th for my federal and it says on H&Rs refund tool that I wasn’t accepted till the 25th .. lol. Oh well.

@Samantha: I think that happened to a few people and they got their refund. Check your transcripts. I received my federal already, but I just checked H&R Block and it said I requested a check as well although the software has my banking info. Not sure wth H&R is doing. Fed says dd, NY says check. annoyed. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I got looking at my H&R wheres my refund tool and it says I chose to receive my refund by CHECK?!?! No I did not, I went back and looked at my filed taxes and my account and routing number are on there for direct deposit. What is going on.?

Filed on 1/30 accepted on 2/12 federal and patiently waiting. My state was rejected 2/26 for NY_P3Code – Your New York state return, earned income calculation, requires a software update. When I checked it was correct. Resubmitted and accepted 2/26…

Day 10 … still processing .. NO review messages .. I can’t feel that DDD coming soon .. I usually update around day 12 or 13 especially since I been on processing the entire time .. FEDERAL ddd 3/3 … NY state should fall around that same week so happy

The only “updates” I’ve seen on another site today was moving to FR. It was only two so far so hoping that isn’t a trend for today.

@shades: NY seems to be updating, they just don’t have a consistent way of doing it. I haven’t seen anyone say they got their NY deposit without updating to a ddd first.
Federal is 🦇 shit crazy this year. The 4 returns I did all updated on transcripts and got their refunds on 2/18 – 2/24 and all 4 still only has 1 bar. Never stayed in 1 bar in the almost 30 years of filing taxes.

With the federal return i at least could see SBtpg was scheduled to send to my account for 2.24 but it came 2.23. So I am hoping i am scheduled for like a 3.1 like everyone else but it just hasnt updated yet. Has anyone actually received their refund deposit yet at all for NY State?

Filed 2/2, accepted 2/16 by NYS (fed accepted 2/10 approved 2/19, DDD 2/24) checked this am and NYS is approved 2/26 for DDD 3/1. Good luck to everyone!

All 4 returns I did have all processed through the IRS. They were all accepted by NY on 2/18 and have been processing since. Here’s to hoping for a ddd between today and next Tuesday. Please no further review!
