Does anyone know what transcript code 420 means? I have codes 806, 766, 768, 810, 811, “420”, then 846 for ddd date 2/26 with only my “withholding” amount next to it. Still have yet to receive that.

Anyone with solid info in these codes translations? I’m soooo confused and frustrated.

@patientviv41: Looks like they are reviewing your credits. You may receive a letter asking for more information from you or they may finalize the exam without needing anything. Keep an eye on your transcripts and your mail box in case you need to supply additional information.

So also, for my “wages for 2019” that transcript page is blank. Do you know why that may be?

So code 421 is the reverse of 420 which will indicate my full refund I’m taking it??

Thanks for the info. This is just a freaking mess!!! How long do these audits usually take?

420 means exam. Unfortunately, the 420 is an audit code.

768 is for Earned Income Credit.

810 is a refund freeze. But 811 is to reverse the refund freeze.

The 810 could have been placed to hold the 768. And then the 811 was likely placed to release at least the withholding portion of your refund.

The good code is the 846. This is a refund release code which indicates part of your refund should be coming soon.
