| 12/31/2016 02:48 PM | 12/31/2016 2:48 PM | DebMom | @Anonymous: I know that lol I just wondered who else was waiting for amend too. Last year they took their sweet time this year they will again | 12/31 | 12/31 | 12/31/2016 | 12/31/2016 |
| 12/31/2016 01:56 PM | 12/31/2016 1:56 PM | @DebMom: I am waiting on my amended taz rerun from 2015. As of a week or so ago, it now being processed. The EIC credit hold s are for the filing of your 2016 taxes. It has nothing to do with your 2015 return. They are putting new fraud processes in place. That is part of the delay for the 2016 tax returns | 12/31 | 12/31 | 12/31/2016 | 12/31/2016 | |

| 12/30/2016 11:39 PM | 12/30/2016 11:39 PM | lori1985 | So I went ahead and was able to complete my taxes with tax act. By complete, I mean they let me transfer all my info from last year over and go all the way through to the turn in page, in which it told me to wait till after the first. But it didn't have to wait on any EIC papers or anything. It just said that it was still early to submit. Blah. At least I know how much I'm getting back and know how much to window spend LOL I guess in the coming weeks we'll start hearing the different stories about whether or not we get our funds released on 2/15 or if we start processing on 2/15. Every 'expert' will sing a different tune like every year :D | 12/30 | 12/30 | 12/30/2016 | 12/30/2016 |
| 12/30/2016 06:36 PM | 12/30/2016 6:36 PM | Ambs | Hi Everyone! Hoping this year things go smoother than last. Trying to decide to file before 2/15 or after. I filed on 2/10 the last two years and it took about 14 days. I miss the old 8 day turnaround | 12/30 | 12/30 | 12/30/2016 | 12/30/2016 |
| 12/30/2016 02:35 PM | 12/30/2016 2:35 PM | DebMom | @lori1985: Seriously I am wondering if we will see refunds sent right after 2/15 or if they won't even begin processing until then | 12/30 | 12/30 | 12/30/2016 | 12/30/2016 |
| 12/30/2016 02:32 PM | 12/30/2016 2:32 PM | DebMom | So who else is still waiting for an amendment and has heard we won't being seeing any refunds with EITC until after Feb 15? I am still trying to get back the fine I paid in last year even after proving I had insurance. Just heads up but wait on the insurance papers. | 12/30 | 12/30 | 12/30/2016 | 12/30/2016 |
| 12/30/2016 02:19 PM | 12/30/2016 2:19 PM | If you are claiming the earned income credit and additional child tax credit, it's not "your" money until they (IRS) say it is. Unless you want to be audited, don't claim children that you are not related to by birth, marriage or a legal document placing them in your care. They also must have resided with you for more than half of 2016. | 12/30 | 12/30 | 12/30/2016 | 12/30/2016 | |

Haven't decided if I'm going to file early and just put myself through misery till after 2/15, or wait till 2/16 to turn them in? I get EIC so I know not to look for any deposits till then. I'm already window shopping online. I've had a 2 week delay for the last two tax seasons so I'd like to be in the group that goes smooth this year :D | 12/29 | 12/29 | 12/29/2016 | 12/29/2016 |

| 12/29/2016 06:44 AM | 12/29/2016 6:44 AM | jemar707 | @Anonymous: I'm. It sure about JH loan, but when HRB refund loan was offered I believe you did have to file with them. Keep us updated if you find out, I'm curious about your question as well. | 12/29 | 12/29 | 12/29/2016 | 12/29/2016 |
| 12/29/2016 06:42 AM | 12/29/2016 6:42 AM | jemar707 | I think the keywords are "released" and "hold" and my guess is that it should go like this: the return will be processed, if there are EITC and/or CTC and a refund is due, it will be on "hold" and "released" on 2/15. In the IRS announcement they go on to say "In addition, the IRS wants taxpayers to be aware it will take several days for these refunds to be released and processed through financial institution." That being said, I'm placing bets that we will see these refunds begin to have DIrect Deposits on Friday 2/17. #Club17 | 12/29 | 12/29 | 12/29/2016 | 12/29/2016 |
| 12/29/2016 02:43 AM | 12/29/2016 2:43 AM | Does anyone have any idea about express loan jh is offering?? And are you required to file with them if you get approved or can you just pay bank back yourself?? | 12/29 | 12/29 | 12/29/2016 | 12/29/2016 | |
| 12/28/2016 10:31 PM | 12/28/2016 10:31 PM | lilred44 | So, if the people who claim the EIC and child credit , file early, will they process on opening day or on feb. 15? Or maybe they will hold it and release it on the 15? | 12/28 | 12/28 | 12/28/2016 | 12/28/2016 |
| 12/28/2016 08:41 PM | 12/28/2016 8:41 PM | Nicole1231Ready | So the EIC does that mean they will process your return up until the refund phase and release it on the 15th or they won't even look at your return until the 15th | 12/28 | 12/28 | 12/28/2016 | 12/28/2016 |
| 12/28/2016 02:21 PM | 12/28/2016 2:21 PM | Mary | @TIFF Yes its true if you claim the child tax credit and/or the EIC your refund will be delayed until after Feb 15. https://www.irs.gov/uac/2017-tax-filing-season-begins-jan-23-for-nations-taxpayers-with-tax-returns-due-april-18 | 12/28 | 12/28 | 12/28/2016 | 12/28/2016 |

| 12/27/2016 05:46 PM | 12/27/2016 5:46 PM | Mary | @JULIE You should always consult a tax professional before taking any advice from this site, that being said, my daughter was married in Nov of last year and she and her husband filed together and carried her daughter from a prior marriage on their tax return, and medicaid is considered a health insurance coverage other than that it shouldnt be a problem. | 12/27 | 12/27 | 12/27/2016 | 12/27/2016 |
| 12/27/2016 03:58 PM | 12/27/2016 3:58 PM | Julie | Hi everyone! This year my taxes will be a little more complicated and am hoping for the best scenario of what I should do. I didn't work in 2016 because I was in school full-time. My husband and I just got married on 12/24. I have one 11-year old daughter that I believe, according to IRS.gov, he can now claim. But, is that still correct even though we just got married this week? My daughter is with us full-time and she can only be claimed by me, her father is absent. Also, can my spouse now claim me as well? I usually prepare my own taxes on turbo tax and I don't want to make any mistakes. Thank you for any advice or knowledge you're able to give. My daughter and I also received Medicaid and I'm not sure how that will play into him filing his taxes. Oh boy, it seems so complicated..... | 12/27 | 12/27 | 12/27/2016 | 12/27/2016 |
| 12/27/2016 01:47 PM | 12/27/2016 1:47 PM | OhioGirl626 | @slimm: Your post was confusing, to say the least. We are not here to cause confusion. For one, if you personally feel you should wait to file, that is your decision. No one has to wait because you do. For two, prepaid cards are NOT a trigger of anything. If you get audited, you get audited... There are other reasons. I've used prepaid cards for 5 years and no problems at all. Yes, they are looking at EITC and ACTC very closely this year. So people who have more than 3 or 4 dependents can no longer "allow" other people to carry those children on their taxes. | 12/27 | 12/27 | 12/27/2016 | 12/27/2016 |

| 12/25/2016 03:07 PM | 12/25/2016 3:07 PM | slimm | I think we should all wait this year to file because identity thief hit hard this year. Be careful using those PREPAID CARDS they are causing it to trigger. If submit your return feb. 5 you will get your money around feb. 10 if you don't add student credit your money will go right threw the efile system. Don't carry peoples who not related to you . Do not change anything from this year and your money will move fast. The efile system is a computer that know everything now. The system is not like 3 years ago .
