now check this out I field my taxes on the 20th and it was received in minutes now its been 15 days and so I figured I would call the irs this week because I never waited this long to get appoved. so I called Monday the nice lady kindly faxed my account transcripts for 2013 and 2014 she say darling u haven’t even been processed yet. so I looked over my account and It said in account status re-sequenced. so I’m like wtf is that? s I called Tuesday and was like sir I am having hardship and I need my refund why am in that status? and he said the system kicked me out and I was put back in but look like nothing is wrong we received your return on the 22nd so I’m like ok. so after no update again I said wtf why not see what’ s going on. so I just got off with another nice lady and she was like you haven’t even been processed yet and your return just got in the system on the 30th wtf? I m so confused how and the he** this happen? is anyone going through this or is irs fu**ing with me talking about it only been” 5 days” like he**!

Sorry, I got slammed at work… Just now getting a free moment. I’m assuming that “us” that are on the “weekly cycle” will see some sort of update overnight or Sunday morning. I’ve received my DD for the last 4 years on a Friday. I’ve never been lucky enough to receive mine in the middle of the week.

@wit I am not totally sure about the whole bar thing. My bars went missing on Jan 20th and have not returned and mine still just says we are processing your tax return a date will be available when your tax return has been processed. It shows me my amount but this has now not changed since Jan 20th either. and I can download my transcript however I only have phone so I am unable to open my transcript to see what it says. But I assume since I can get into the transcript and it shows for this year that it’s somewhere in the processing part but no clue they won’t tell me anything if I call.

Hey all us 1/30 filers with no activity could be in a weekly cycle. I know that I am weekly because I have an installment payment with the first time homebuyers credit repayment. If you are weekly you should see update friday night, sat morning with ddd for next week. THe 1/30 filers with movement are mostly likely daily.

I was also just thinking, perhaps you get a dead cycle code when you submit later in the day. I know I saw some people saying that if you file at 11AM it goes towards the next day’s batch, but I filed really late at night. So maybe if you file after the end of the business day? Anybody else file after 11AM or later in the evening?

My DDD was today 2/4, posted to my account this morning at 7am on the nose. (Exact time every single deposit clears my bank, paycheck, child support, funds transfer, etc.). My WMR still has not updated. Good luck to everyone and I hope you all get yours ASAP!

Yes that is the same information I read from the IRS site when I was looking for a definition for the dead cycle. It really doesn’t give you much of one. The idea that I gathered from it is that basically a dead cycle is either when you file too early or it is given when they know you didn’t make any errors (otherwise it would alert you) and they are sure it will get accepted. So it’s like automatic acceptance. I see people using TurboTax have to wait a few hours-days to get acceptance alerts. Therefore, I can conclude they are no using automatic acceptance. It is pretty silly, I guess it is just a tactic TaxAct uses to make people think they are getting their money faster.

I think, but I am not certain, that my bars went away when they started working on mine. When they first went away, I still had topic 152 and my wage transcript showed for 2014 but said no record of taxes found or something like that. Less than a week later all my transcripts showed up with my cycle date. Two days after that WMR reflected two bars and DDD. I was afraid I had been recycled or any manner of things, but it seemseems to be fine.

“..When using the IRS’s online tool, it isn’t necessary to check back every day. The IRS only updates your refund status information once per week on Wednesdays. If you e-file your tax return, wait at least 72 hours from the date the IRS confirms receipt of your return before checking your refund status, and at least three weeks if you mail the return instead..”

If any of us have friends or family who got their refund last friday. Try to ask then if it was last wednesday when they notice an update?

Hi everyone got my ddd 2/6/15 so happy… i did a little research and the cycle code tells you exactly what day you get your funds pay attention my cycle code 20150502 that simply means February 5th 2015 not the 5 week and second day…irs havent been accepting returns for 5 weeks count the days people everyone on this site with the cycle code 20150402 has gotten it on the 4th so congrats to everyone who has a date and for the ppl wondering check your transcript for cycle code to see your date stop stressing hope this helps ok…taxes drives ppl insane lbs…

I talked to the irs this morning I was told that the aca is holding up accounts they send it from one system to another and it can take up to 4 days for the system to catch up so if you had to pay that from your return that is why some of us are still waiting I was also told in my case that the hold should end today and update over night so for those of us that are in day 15 or longer that could change over night. I do not know how correct he was but instead of putting me on hold he stayed on the line while he researched so I do think he was telling me accurate information

2/4/15 – took almost a week to post anything to the Ohio where’s my refund site…then I get “Your original return was received and posted to our system on 02/03/2015, but is currently under manual review. Please allow 60 days from the posted date for processing. If it has been more than 60 days, please call us at 1-800-282-1780 or e-mail us.”

I jut got a letter from the IRS stating my return is under review. I have heard nothing on my AZ state return, but since I’m unemployed, I’m a little panicked about any delay in my refund. I understand the IRS can take weeks, but will this stop my state refund as well or are they completely separate?

My return was rejected as someone filed using my social. I had to fill out an identity theft affidavit and print my return and mail both in with copies of my social, I also for precaution photocopied my drivers license, birth cert and my sons social and birth certificate. Who has had this happen to them? How quickly were you issued your refund?

I had to pay a health penalty this year for not being insured. I filed and was accepted on 1/26. I have been able to only access my account transcript, which has all 0’s. I’m wondering if the health penalty is what is holding us up. Anyone else the same? Hoping to see movement very soon!

So I filed through TT. Same codes and dates as everyone else. I did just talk to someone in account adjustments and she said the hold would not be lifted until Feb 20. Which is 4 days after the 2/16/2015 date we all see on our transcripts. I want to be positive about this but im not sure I can be right now. I filed and was accepted on 1/23 and even on my TT refund tracker it says estimated refund date 2/20. Hopefully it comes sooner than then but at least we know that we will have it by then at latest. I hope the people that said it should be updated this week are right!

Now dont put too much trust into this, but i stumbled across a few similar post and articles about the refunds. The irs does most updates on wednesdays as far as tax info goes. Would make some sense since thursday marks the 1st day in tax cycle. The deposits normally are received by the banks on fridays. Checking my last 2 years of returns..they were each on a friday. I found that the irs sends refunds 2 days a week. One is for electronic and the other is for paper checks. This is just in my case and it could very well be different for everyone elses as far as when their banks received/posted. Again dont put too much faith into this as its just from a few similar articles i came across.

Sorry, man. The IRS is a big mess this year. At least last year if you got a ddd you were in the clear. A lot of people with a ddd of today are still waiting. :(I’m not even excited about a ddd anymore with all the problems everyone is having.

This happened to a group of us called “The 1121’ers.” last year, we were give a direct deposit date of 2/6, and our bars went all the way to “refund sent” and all of us frantically checking our accounts after calling the IRS over and over, demanding to know where our refunds were at. The next morning, we awoke to a lovely “TAKE ACTION: Please call the IRS Immediately. Your refund has been delayed. Please call us immediately and mention error code 1121.” If you have Netspend, and have your refund taken through SBBT, and your DDD was 2/04, you are now in this group of unfortunate people. This year, I filed on 1/23(accepted on 1/23), refund approved on 1/27, and I got my deposit on 1/29. My DDD was 1/30, and I went through Turbotax, had fees taken out from SBBT (which is actually SBTPG), and used a NetSpend card. Some of us, last year…. well some of us are still waiting on our deposits. (!) Others recieved their refunds 2-3 weeks after the original DDD.
THERE IS NO POINT ON CALLING THE IRS. Check your account transcripts on irs.gov every day, (“record of account”)… when you see an “846” code, you should have your refund within 3 business days. If you get a 971, that is “notice issued.” This is not necissairly a bad thing. You do not want to see a 570 or 4– of any kind on your account. This is an audit. Best of Luck!

Hi everyone.

I am very frustrated. I have now had ref number 9001 for a week (since last Wed), and I have been searching all over and keep getting either old posts from a year or two or three, or generic posts that have the definition of the code, which says something about the wrong SS # or TIN. I am entering the correct SS# and I am single and the only one on my return.

Can anyone PLEASE, tell me something new. The generic explanations aren’t really helpful. There has to be someone out there who really knows what is going on. I filed on the 19th of Jan and accepted Jan 20th. Had one bar and then got this annoying 9001 ref number. When I call it the automated system, it routes me to a rep, but I hang up because they are pretty much liars or don’t know anything.

Please help! So frustrated…Thank you in advance!

No, just if your refund was used to pay a debt or if they need you to call them. Your transcripts will show the review/audit code.

What type of offset was it? Do your transcripts show a refund cancellation code? 6 weeks seems a little extreme. I have a tax bill from 2011 that’s been paid (as of last week) but I don’t have the 846 code yet. I know tax debts cause delays. Remember: if your ddd is for today (2/4) it can post within the next 4 days.
