Mine updated twice today already, and now I have a 846 code!! Yaaaayyy! What does it mean when it says refund issued Feb 23 though? I noticed last year refund issued date on my transcripts was later than I actually got my taxes. Am I waiting until the 11th or the 23rd?? I’m relying on my taxes to pay for the rest of my moving expenses next week, so that week discrepancy makes a big difference! My code is 05052015.

Does anyone know what the “as of” date is on account transcript? I can view it but it is blank except for a date that says “As of February 23rd”. It said “AS of February 16th” until this morning, now it’s pushed back a week???

I filed 1/28 and accepted same day. IRS says they didn’t get it until 1/30. I am a weekly processor and have no movement on transcripts. All of them are NA except for wage which says No Return Filed. WMR still has 1 bar and TT 152. It’s not looking too good for me to be seing a DDD for next week.

I filed on 1/19 through Tax Slayer. Was accepted on 1/20. Been checking Where’s My Refund, and it is still processing. I know three people who filed well after I did and have received their refunds. I also know 4 people who filed same day as me and received refunds.

Based on the IRS 21 days, I still have 4 days to go (February 10) without worrying too much.

However, I settled a few credit cards last year (2014). For only one of them, the “forgiven” amount was more than $600, which means they had to report it and send it to the IRS as income. This is not the case for the less than $600 debts.

Well, I was anxious to file my taxes. I had the exact “forgiven” amount for the over$600+ debt, and found the credit card company’s tax ID on a government website. I used this information when I filed.

I still haven’t received the 1099C for the over$600, but am now getting them for the lessthan$600! I did not include these on my taxes.

Does anybody know anything about this? Can the fact that I didn’t include the info for the 1099Cs that don’t include any “income” be holding my refund up?

YAY! I checked for transcripts this morning and they are available of course I am in the 20150505 cycle, no update to WMR as of yet but maybe Monday? I hope we get our money next week or sooner lol.

I have seen this question on many forums and have been reading them constantly, as I was in the same situation! What I have not seen is many responses saying “what happened next.” I filed and was accepted on 1/26. Had the first bar for a few days then blank and “refund is still being processed.” I’m a worrier, so my anxiety went into high gear. Today, it is still blank; HOWEVER, my transcripts have been updated and show my refund date. I have spent so many hours worrying….ultimately….for no reason. So hang in there. It may take a few extra days, but chances are…it will be just fine. :)

UPDATE for all of us 1/22’s who filed and were accepted same day

Got return transcript yesterday with code 20150505 and this morning my ACCOUNT transcript updated showing 846 refund issued cycle code 20150505 with DD of Wednesday Feb 11th.

Hopefully eveyone else got an update today and we should see WMR update this weekend..

Filed and accepted 1/29, one bar WMR. Able to pull account transcript this morning (rest are N/A, wage says no record of return filed). Account transcript has a bunch of 000s and at the bottom under Transactions says ‘No tax return filed’ and there’s no codes. What does this mean? Is this bad? So this morning I woke up to my transcripts update with code 971 and 570 … cycle 20150505 and 2/23/2015; I know this means under review but WMR still has 1 bar topic 152 and I have not received a letter. HELP?!?!? Has anyone had this that updated to an 846. Family had insurance through my employer – same in last 3 years, addrees dependents etc are the same – our employers the same no EIC so I’m confused …and stressed!

So I am going over my record of account transcript and it says code 846 refund issues then has a date 2/16/2015 and then next column the amount. and under that there is a code 898 Refund applied to non-IRS debt and next column has date 2/16/2015 and next column has 0.00 amount. but right under the words Refund applied to non-irs debt there is an amount of 5,367.00. Is that meaning my whole refund went some where and I am not getting it, The only off set I had was child support and that was 200.00 dollars. Please help me ASAP

Try to find out if you were re-sequenced. If so (and no other issues) ask when the IRS received the return because a lot of us got bumped from our original sent dates. Let me know what you find out and I will try to help you determine when your refund is coming :-)

when I talked to the irs they said if no fees our taken out it would go back to them and it would be 8 to 10 weeks. call your bank they can tell you if they sent it back to the irs

Everyone else who is confused about cycle codes and refund sent dates. Just to clarify, the RETURN transcript (most commonly viewed) will give you your cycle code which determines the exact date of DD. It is located near the top under all your personal info. When you see your filing status, followed by form number (1040, 1040A, etc) it is the next number below that and has 8 digits (20150505).

The week for the IRS runs Thursday-Wed. We are currently on the 5th week of 2015 (201505 part). The last 2 digits are for the day, but not the 5th day of the week. Since the week starts on Thursday and they do not count the weekend it goes. Thursday 01, Friday 02, Monday 03, Tuesday 04, Wednesday 05.

To look for your 846 Refund Sent code open up your ACCOUNT transcript. The codes are at the bottom under Code Explanation of Transaction. The very last code should be the 846 Refund Sent code.

Sorry for the confusion, but you will not see an 846 Refund Sent code on your return transcript, which like I said I never have and it is the most commonly looked at transcript since it is the first one :-)

I filed on 1/26 and accepted on 1/26. Status bars gone in wmr. It just says still processing and a refund date will be provided when available. Try to access transcripts and it says not available just to call fraud department. Am I being audited? Has this happened to anyone else? So frustrating and scary.

I’m sorry I missed the 2nd half or your post. 2/23/2015 is the latest they can send it. To get your cycle code for the exact deposit date you need to look at your return transcript and look at the top under your name/date/etc. Right under your filing status and form number it will give a cycle posted code.

@Ant , Last year was my 1st year filing IS, and I’m not exactly sure my first experience was typical, not that I had a lot of issues, but there was a gov’t shutdown which put everything in a crazy weird place. But to answer your question, I got a paper check last year.

@Travanti: Nah, nothing at all. TBCH, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit, I know of some procedures/companies that do things once per week. I don’t personally think any of our faxes are like literally going to any specific person. It’s all electronic records anymore so I’m fairly certain it’s almost like a mailroom, people just man the fax machine and then scan all of the papers that come in. Then every so often the actual agent in charge of our return tries pulling up the returns.

While I don’t think waiting over 5 days before something is “done” about it is the right way to do things, at this point I truly feel we will be lucky if we see our refunds by mid-May. When the government has physical hands on things, prepare for it to take forever.

Sounds like you are not a weekly updater. Have you contacted the IRS to see what is going on? Best way to get info is to tell them you were disconnected from someone else who was telling you that you may need to submit information from a review. They will definitely look into your account if you say that :-)

Also, are you viewing your return transcript or account transcript? The account transcript will give you the 846 code for return sent, but it will not show on your return transcript so there is no need to worry about that. Like I said I have never seen one on my return transcript.

Depending on who did your taxes, and if you paid your tax fees up front. If you filed free and it’s the IRS who will send your money and it doesn’t have to go to another bank to take out your fees. Than it could take up to 10 weeks, I can’t imagine it being that long at all though. IF you had fees taken out then that company will mail your check.
I used Turbo Tax had my fees taken out, I filed 1/20 at 5 pm. and got my DDD on 1/27 and DD 1/29 as you did, I didn’t double check my account number and fudged it up the last four digits. So when they sent it 1/29 the bank rejected it (THANK GOD) and SBBT got my money back and issued me a check on Monday 2/2. So I am looking to get it today… So I would say maybe 1-2 weeks for your check to get to your mailbox. Only problem is when they send the check, it’s then in the mail’s hand, and who knows how long it could take.

I received a CP05 letter addressed to me with my social, and someone else’s name was on the letter too!! No social or address for this person, just his name along side mine. Has this ever happened to anyone? I gave the letter to my accountant, and he filed an identity theft form.

For what its worth, I always have to pay and there is no refund check being held. Just confused. Any help, advice? THANKS!!
