For those getting the dreaded ‘800 number option 3’ message. Option 3 is the Special Investigations/Fraud department. We got that message last year and had to fax in our W2s for income verification. We got it again this year, they need W2s again and said after they receive those and verify our income they will process our refund in a few weeks.

I asked the reasoning behind needing to verify income and they stated 2013 it was because my husband changed jobs…..understandable. He, however, did NOT change jobs in 2014 and they still need to verify income :(. I think we’re on a list LOL

What im reading on the internet is that once you have to file an 8862 it has to be hand reviewed and its a lengthy process… Its a great possibility that the irs will audit you. You will have to show proof to receive your credit… I didnt file my kids last year but i put my girlfriend on my tax return caused she lived with me at the time and now i have to file this form…. I have read we are in for a long process…

@Nick I used TurboTax. I called them and they assured me that they transmitted everything which apparently wasn’t true. I’ve also seen a few people state that the acceptance date they were given was incorrect when they spoke with someone from the IRS.

I filed on the 26th and was accepted 10 minutes later however I have yet to see any DDD. Anyone think it could be based on how you filed? i.e. Single vs head of household? Or size of refund? Last year I submitted prior to the 15th and was also held up that time. I tried to wait a little this time and seems to still be taking forever.

My bars went missing, but my refund amount was still there. I tried to pull transcripts and was told to contact the identity theft department. When I finally got through I was advised I was under review and thats why my bars went away – it was due to an identity theft flag from 2013 that was resolved. They said it can now take up to 9 weeks for my return to process since an actual human at the irs will be reviewing my return. I think i might cry now…………

From reading on a few other threads according to one user his local HRB office told him HRB would release same day as they received. So lets hope that stays true. I also called today trying to find out info and got generic answers such as 3 to 5 business days max for deposit after HRB receives it and to also check the “MyBlock” tab on the account you used to file your taxes. Apparently they do not have similar access like TT/SBBT does (which would be nice). But I am holding on to the idea that it will be there tomorrow :)

I completely understand! I am educated with a descent job, however, being a single mother of a 16 and 11 year old make it to where I have too much month at the end of my money! :) I don’t usually rely so heavily on the little that I do get back but, this year each day that passes feels like an eternity.

Hi all just wanted to let you know my experience of today. I filed with TT….chose to have my fees taken out….and had an offset. filed and accepted on 1/20 and got a DD date of 2/4. i checked SBBT website and they have received my funds today and transferred to my bank (NETSPEND) today so it will be there tomororow. I chose ot have my refund put on a netspend card which arrived well before my DD dcate . in past years experiences i have chosen to both taken fees out of refund and pay with my credit card….only last year was it delayed by one day but i think there was an overall delay of dd’s for one day. every other year it has always come on the date the wmr website says or prior to that date. it is true the IRS sends sbbt your money before the date you see on the wmr website so that you have it on the date they say. hope this helps everyone.

A user on another thread said he visited his local HRB office and asked them when they will deposit his refund since he had DDD of 2/4/15 and the office told him same day. So lets hope they gave him correct info!! I know sometimes it always just depends on who you talk to. I have DDD of 2/4/15 as well and had fees taken out of refund and to DD to bank. I hope we see refunds tomorrow! Just hate the waiting game, to me when you are told a date it should be that date. I understand not every bank or credit union or financial institute can make things happen as fast as we would like but really with today’s technology, no one should have to wait any longer than one day once the refunds are released. Just my little ole’ opinion ;)

This happened to me last year when I had a refund interception. Which means that maybe you owe back taxes, student loan or child support and they are taking part of your refund.

(if you have already prepaid fee’s ….possibly 1 day prior if it is going to netspend or checking/savings account)
Historically Net spend cards seem to get theirs 1 day prior

Accepted on the 12th with many early filers. My cycle was the first one 20150402, Jan 26 is when my transcripts popped up with the infamous 570 896. Bastards at the IRS got me confused with some backwoods asshole. I’m an educated man, who just happens to be broke as hell, lol.

I talked to the irs I was told that because of the aca that returns are on hold so I called the aca and was told by them that there shouldn’t be any holds the irs just pulls the money you owe from your refund and then send it out

so lets do this anyone that talks and gets any form of information post it and see how many different things they say

I want to be a beacon of hope in this. I called a TAdvocate this morning and she was blunt but very helpful. I asked her the same question in several different ways to make sure her answers remained the same. I found out that the transcript that is available for me is not updated. She said there were two more codes below the 570 that I didn’t see. One was the 571, which she explained was the profound “systemic release” which I thought was automatic after four days. Well apparently she said it is a four day thing, and the freeze will release at the end of this week. She said most likely Thursday, and that WMR would update with a DDD for next week, Monday or so. I truly don’t care what the DDD is, I will just be happy to see one. The other code, she said was an 805f which I couldn’t find in the IRS manual, but I haven’t had much time between classes today. I was in the 0402 cycle which a lot of us are. I expect that we will all see changes the end of this week and I wish everyone that exact statement. I posted this in a comment field in the #570group on Facebook as well. Furthermore, I repeatedly asked if I should open a hardship case because I told her my electricity was about to get shut off and she said it would be pointless because it would take 3 days for a response, and I would see an update before then.
