At least some of you have topic 152. I filed with TT on 1/16 got accept 1/17 and got state accepted today but on WMR no topic 152 and “We cannot provide any information about your refund.” I just came off of an audit last year so I think they have me this year too.
AnonymousPosting this on this thread too, hope no one minds. I apologize if I anger anyone just trying to get help…
I can not post a new thread for some reason and have a question. My return was rejected 6 times today (yes, 6) It is due to no error of mine however, I filed through TaxAct. I have never used anyone else and never had a problem until this year, I have 2 W2’s from separate employer. When I submit my e-file I would get a notification (usually within mins after the intial one) that said my return was rejected due to EIN and employer name not matching, okay fine. Go in to fix it and find out it is from a 3rd W2. No employer name or address or EIN or amount, nothing on it because, well, it does not exist and I do not have it. Just says W2-My Name-0.00 So, I delete it. Resubmit taxes and BAM! there it is again. WTH?! I contact TaxAct, they lead me through steps, try some different thing, rejected, rejected, rejected. Last thing they tell me to do is to download a new browser and try that so I did and now it is pending…If it is rejected again for this reason what do I do? Call the IRS? Could this be their system? Or could it only be TaxAct and do I just need to file through someone else? It’s driving me insane! Help!

The updates were on Tuesday am and Saturday am for my return last year. I was in the first batch of 2/6 deposits. Happy Tax Season
Davedpage I agree. Last year the irs did not start processing returns until the end of January, the 31st. During that time the DDDs first given was 2-6-2014, a week from irs start date. This year the tax season started 10 days earlier from last year. Which as I predict DDDs will be given for the 26th or at least for the 27th which is a week after the irs start date. This is just my theory though.
NYCteachermomFrom unofficial refund cycle charts, it states that the first ddd would be 2/5. This is why everyone is saying that.
dpagewhy are some ppl saying the 1st dd are going to b feb 5-6 & some ppl saying 26-27. if the 1st dd went out last year 6-7 days after irs opening day wouldnt it b the same this year which wud put 1st ddd at jan 26-26 not feb 5-6 what is anybodys thoughts on that
keriI filed injured spouse today and already got accepted. Has anyone else done this as well?
dawnmb1176thank u mcrt88 for all the info i feel better & can stop going thru hundreds of posts trying to find these answers i appreciate everyones help
dawnmb1176thank u so much i feel a lot better that it wont b feb 20th. now if anyone knows if they start the 21 days from the time i was accepted which was early 01/13 or if they start it from the 20th when they officially opened.
MCRT88Hi, like you I was accepted early, 1/12. I am currently still sitting at 1 bar on WMR with no DDD. The IRS says that it’s UP TO 21 days from the opening of tax season, which is today, however most people receive their refund within 7-10 days. The TT date of Feb. 20 is a general date that all people who filed early are receiving, it’s not accurate, nor is it for sure. You will not know the exact date until it posts on WMR. The IRS may have already processed our returns but they will not begin to approve refunds until today, you should see an update within 24-72 hours from this morning. The earliest refund date I have seen on the cycle charts is Feb. 5th-6th, but none of those charts are “official”, they are all just estimates. The IRS doesn’t typically release their refund cycle chart anymore. Hopefully, if it’s anything like last year, the first DDD will be 12/28, since tax season started earlier than usual on 12/20. That would be in line with previous years but you just never know. Like I said, you should see some movement on your WMR within the next 24-72 hours. It updates once every 24 hours, typically between 1-5 AM, so hopefully we will wake up to some good news tomorrow :)
That’s how it goes usually
MJ86The tt app says the 20th too, but I don’t think that’s the case. It’ll probably change when wmr updates.
Last year TT was way off like that on my refund tracker too. In think they do 30 days just to be on the safe side
RRMMy return was rejected for not having an IP PIN. I’ve never even heard of one before….certainly didn’t receive a notice in the mail about needing one to file. I went to irs.gov to request it but they have to verify the email address and yet I haven’t received a code. What do I do???
dawnmb1176sorry that first word heiti was a typo was just supposed to say “I”
dawnmb1176Hehti was accepted thru tt on 1/13/15 i have 3 questions i would b so greatful if ppl cud answer for me #1 does the 21 days for refund start on the 13th when i was accepted or the 20th when irs opened #2 why does the tt refund tracker app say my ddd will b feb 20th how cud they know that when the its wmr is only at 1st bar & doesnt have a ddd yet & feb 20th is WAY more than 21 days from the 13th &the 20th and last ? is …is there a possibillity of dd going out for people accepted before the 20th like me on or before jan 30th or are the 1st dd not going out til feb for anyone
TarahIf you go to the WMR FAQ you’ll see this:
Does Where’s My Refund always display my refund status with the tracker showing three steps?
No. In some cases the tracker graphic will not be shown if your return is being reviewed prior to step two: “Refund Approved,” and instead an explanation or instructions will be provided depending on the situation. This can happen even if you previously checked Where’s My Refund and it showed the status as “Return Received” along with the tracker. In these cases be assured that we have your tax return and we are processing it. Please follow the directions provided by Where’s My Refund?. Otherwise if we need more information we will contact you – usually by mail. If we send you a letter about your return, please follow the instructions in the letter as soon as possible.TarahIf you go to the WMR FAQs you’ll see this:

dawnmb1176Ti filed w tt on 01/12/15 got accepted 01/13/15 i guess that makes me part of this test batch. i have a couple questions if anyone cud plz answer 4 me. #1 does the 21 days for refund start on the 13th when i was accepted or on the 20th when irs opened & started processing. #2 is why on the tt app does it say expected refund date Feb 20. that is way more than 21 days from the 13th & the 20th also is there any possibillity of dd going out on or b4 jan,30 if some ppl cud answer any or all of these 3 questuons id b very greatful
titlalwaysGreat post..I’m looking forward to seeing it filled with all of our ddd’s! I filed 1/13 and was accepted 1/13 and used TT just like you..I haven’t heard that rumor yet:)..I didn’t try to be in the test batch either but thats what happend..praying we get that good news in the next 24/72hrs
MizGeminiStarzI filed the 12th, accepted the 13th, bar went away the 15th. I have no bars, no amount and tax topic 152. I’m not too worried because it seems that most people do. I am hoping that just means that my return is almost done and was just waiting for the IRS to open. There is no way that this many people, who lost their bar, are in trouble or their returns are being delayed. At least I hope.
I have never been rejected, I was just wondering if after being Accepted, you could still be rejected.
@Jess1241 yes, that is what I meant, if being accepted then rejected was possible. :-)
@Kristi & @sharee thanks for sharing, I appreciate it, sorry about that experience though, Im sure it was stressfull.
MelleeSeems like people who were accepted on the 12th lost their bars, regardless of who they filed with. Probably a glitch..
MCRT88I was a part of the test batch with TT DELUXE and filed 1/9, was accepted 1/12, and even talked to TT SUPPORT last night and was told that “Your return was accepted across the board. The only thing left is for the IRS to issue a DDD, which will happen within the next 24-72 hours.”
However I have seen MULTIPLE people on TT FORUMS AND OTHER FORUMS claiming they we’re either, accepted early as part of the test batch and approved today, or filed, we’re accepted and approved today, and have a DDD OF 1/28?! I have not received a DDD as far as I know.
Has anybody on here got a DDD? If so, what is it? Also, if you get a DDD please post here when you were accepted, approved and when your DDD is..THANKS AND HAPPY TAX SEASON!!!
MelleeSame here, son stillborn 9-2003. I am really sorry for your loss. I would think you could deduct funeral costs.. sending hugs
JenniferHYes, filed 1/17, accepted today 1/20 @ noon
CeceNot yet, filed the 13th
AnonymousFiled on the 17th with to and accepted today
SaraYes I am having this same issue and it is freaking me out really bad. I am hoping its just a glitch…has anyone called the number listed.
BethWent TT. Accepted on 12th with one bar. Lost bar and refund amount 3 days later. Not a clue what’s up but I’m patient as hell
RichIt worked for me.
CrystalI filed today 2/20 and was accepted in less than 15 minutes. Checked WMR and have 1 bar with topic 152.
RichardDONT OPEN THE LINK!!!!! Seriously!!!!
steveI saw that sign down at our local waffle house and did it online while eating.
AshleyWas accepted in the early test batch last week. Had one bar but today the bars are gone and its says it’s being processed. No bars or amount and topic 152. Praying for a change when it updates tonight but not holding my breathe.
JessicaI am hoping for a early dd this year as well. Last year I had a DD on the 6th of febuary. I submitted my taxes today and they were accepted.
Kristy KAll you have to do is put your email that you used with turbo tax in and it sends you a coupon for a free combo of your choice.
http://yep.it/TurboTaxNik)I think WMR had 2 updates per week with DDD’s last year (I don’t remember which nights). If I remember right, the opening day and next day acceptances (including test batches) are in the first set of DDD’s – as long as all is well with the return.
JessicaI filed at 3:30 pm cst today. I was accepted 3:42 cst pm.
MsTThe WMR normally changes on Friday night, is this correct?
IamTHATbeanI’m so sorry for your loss. I am also a loss mom.
There are two issues here. First, are the medical costs more than 10% of your income? If so, you can itemize the deductions.
Second, did the child live at all, outside the womb? If they were born alive and died, you can claim them as a dependent. If you did not receive a SSN, you write DIED in the space and the attach a certified copy of the birth and death certificate. That is ONLY if they are considered a live birth by local standards. Disgusting, I know…
You can also itemize funeral expenses. That includes cremation and the burial plot.
AnonymousI filed on 1/16 and accepted that same day with a submission Id: 21000120150164. Can someone please explain the meanings behind the numbers
keriFiled today around 1230 got accepted around 115 with code 152. Filed injured spouse so no idea, how long for a DDD
Taxact UserThis is fake
AnonymousHere’s the thing. I pulled the photo and ran it through an EXIF data reader…it shows the image was modified today…meaning photo shopped. That explains the hesitation to share anything without being asked, doesn’t it? Disappointing.
JamieFiled on Jan 16th, accepted same day (an hour after), WMR on 1st bar since the 16th
ShareeI WAS REJECTED LAST YEAR. THE IRS HAD MY DATE OF BIRTH INCORRECT. THEY SENT ME THE EMAIL THROUGH TT AND I FIXED IT THE SAME DAY AND WAS APPROVED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY.
Anonymousthank you and good luck :)
AaronI filed with TaxSlayer on 1/16 and got my message that it was accepted today around 10 am central. On IRS it shows with one orange bar and topic 152..
AnonymousLOL Good luck to you!
Anonymousyeah im sure questions will be asked lol
AnonymousYou know everyone will be asking you:
When you filed, when you were accepted, what service you used, when and how did WMR update, and all those goodies…better spill it now so you can have a thread to cut and paste from. LOL
AnonymousIf that is the truth, you gotta let us know if you actually get it Thursday. Good luck, if true, I hope it is for you. I only say if true because some people can get really crafty…call it the burden of being the first to have/show it. ;) Nothing personal, alright?
pat mhas anyone been accepted that used hr block
AnonymousAccepted by the IRS means they have received and are reviewing your return. During this time they can reject or approve. The confusion here may be terminology. Do you mean can the IRS “approve” your return and then reject? If you mean can the reject after accepted – yes they can.
jamesHi. We have 4 children, 2 are from previous relations ships and neither father is in the picture, the children are ages 14 and 10. It is telling me that if I don’t have some kind of court order I have to file some kind of form to be able to claim the kids, IDK if that was something we had to do before since we always used JH in the past. I put i’m their step father but should I just put that we both are the legal guardians? Not sure what to do.
AnonymousI’ve not heard of an actual IRS acceptance, then rejection. Are you sure it wasn’t your tax software saying you were accepted, then getting a rejection? If so, that’s a glitch on their end.
I was rejected last year, because my daughter filed that no one could claim her when we actually could…she moved out on December 21, her 18th birthday, and when we filed, it said a dependent’s SSN had been used already. Found out she did that deliberately because she didn’t find it fair that we “made money off her”…God, self righteous kids…
Anyway, it was a straight rejection. Pending through preparer straight to reject.
Tell us a little more…what the steps were and who said what, maybe then we can help better.
Anonymousi filed and already been approved and have my DDD heres the screenshot from my phone
if that didnt work heres the link for proof http://postimg.org/image/s0zb6fy2p/
RtbartonieSo how long after you at accepted does it take for the IRS to approve your refund? Also how long are you in the woods? Is it until your refund has been approved or once you are accepted? Also tax slayer projected a higher number than TT and TA for federal refunds… Could this pose a problem?
It has to be at least 800-1000 more than my other software.
DionI filed on 1/9 and was accepted on 1/13.
Anyone…..Buellar….Buellar……lol
I really haven’t found an answer yet, not a straight one anyway. Can anyone out there please explain the process & reasoning behind being accepted or rejected?
Or if anyone has a personal experience with being accepted first & then rejected, please help shed some light here?
RtbartonieOkay I submitted on the 18th accepted this morning around 930/10.
January 20, 2015 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Finaly a statement from the irs about the "glitch" #4093041AnonymousLemme guess, another turd? I’m not even going to look at photos…I figure legit proof shares will show up on the facebook page.
January 20, 2015 at 3:06 pm in reply to: Finaly a statement from the irs about the "glitch" #4093040Sam, that is the second link to a literal piece of crap you have left this morning. It is getting annoying. Also, I was eating a Twix at the time, “was” being the operative word there.
Can’t you find something else to do down there in your mom’s basement? Maybe if you look hard enough, you’ll find a soccer ball. :-)
Now I will attempt to eat my other Twix half in peace.
AnonymousIt means the IRS accepted it, but the TT software just hasn’t updated to show it yet.
That happened to me, too.
I heard about a supposed turbo tax glitch, and went ahead and filed with Tax Act yesterday, being TT was pending from 1/15. I knew the worst that could happen was whichever one processed second, it would simply be rejected.
So, I got an email from Tax Act saying Federal was rejected because the Primary SSN had been used this year.
Logged onto TT, said “pending”.
Went to my IRS2Go app which has WMR built into it for the heck of it.
One orange bar, showing accepted.
An hour later, got the text from TT and the email saying it got accepted.
TT shows Feb. 20 for refund date (of course, that is 21 business days from now), but says 9 out of 10 people last year got theirs within 7-10 business days.
I remember it being pretty short, all things considered last year, but I’ve never had one within the week, it’s usually two for me…I always had seemed to file just after a cycle processed. LOL
Ok people, let’s get to it! Lol Wondering something: I am about to try and order a transcript, there is no way this could delay my refund or have any nefarious side effects is there?
PS I think I posted this in another spot when it should’ve been here. Sorry guys, first time in a group.
Those who want to keep up with other TaxSlayer filers can post here.
So far, I filed on 1/20 and got accepted on 1/20. WMR shows one bar.
JakeingaTT 152 doesn’t mean much really. As far as I know it is a more or less generic topic that gives basic information about the tax refund process. People get desperate about their refunds and start reading more into things than exist, and I think a lot of the talk about TT152 is part of that.
I have heard rumors both last year and already this year that if you see TT152 everything in your filing is good to go, and you are going to be given a DDD very soon. I have also read claims that if you have the TT152 your actual DD is in the next (or in this case first group of) Direct Deposits, but I honestly don’t believe any of that. If your refund has been accepted you can expect your refund within 20 days of it being accepted.
My experience with E-Filing (going back to the mid nineties) is that I have gotten Direct Deposits in as little as six days (happened two years in a row, 98 and 99), and as much as three weeks (last year was the longest I have had to wait, I filed on the January 15th, was accepted early on the 16th, but processing didn’t start until the 25th), I got my DD on 2/7. That was right at three weeks, and it nearly drove me nuts. I made the mistake of not paying attention to reality and let myself get convinced that I was going to get it much quicker, and honestly expected it around the 25th, even though I knew the IRS was behind because of the government shutdown.
This year I am also hoping I will get it quick, a week turn around would be great, but so would two weeks, and if I have to wait until 2/6, I will survive. My big lesson from last year is to not count on it coming before the IRS says to expect it, I did that last year, and found myself in a jam waiting on money for a week and a half that I had counted on getting earlier.
CaligirlI filed with taxact on 19th at about 8pm and was accepted by IRS today at about 9am. I have 1 bar on the refund status check bar.
Kristi HGood deal, thanks! I just couldn’t really invest too much time to information last year because of what my daughter was putting us through. Thank you for the clarification!
Kristi, Tax Topic 152 means absolutely nothing. It is basically telling you that once your refund amount is “approved” you will have your DD within 21 days. Having TT 152 doesn’t mean that your amount is approved, it doesn’t mean that your DDD will show up tomorrow. Everyone whose return was “accepted” has TT 152. TT 152 showing up today just says that the IRS received your return and it is being processed. Once your refund amount is “approved” 2nd orange bar, then your DDD will be forthcoming. People read too much into TT152 but no one actually reads it. The amount of your refund while in 1st bar showing “accepted” could still change. Once accepted, it has to be actually reviewed and could up until “approved” be sent back for corrections. Please do not get all excited at this point. Get excited once “approved” shows up.
jakeingaFiled late on the 18th, got acceptance notice from tt an hour ago. Now I try to remember to be patient
RtbartonieCode 152 is great it just goes over your options for getting your refund!!!
