When you say “accepted” that doesn’t mean “approved” right? Two different definitions: accepted means they have accepted it to start reviewing; approved means that they have reviewed and approved the submission meaning DDD comes after approved not accepted.

I had filed with freetaxusa and was submitted early and locked. It never got accepted yesterday or earlier like lots of others who filed early. So I filed on tt at 8:30 am est. it was accepted immediately after and already shows on wmr. I had to email freetaxusa because I had paid for state and audit coverage but couldn’t even efile state with them because they had no update and can’t file seperate. Idk why it was an issue but indiana still shows pending and federal is good to go finally with tt

It is the bank that TT, Jackson-Hewitt, Etc. use to process the refund, remove their fees and send it to your bank. Its Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. It is where the IRS will send your refund first, then SBBT will send it to your bank.

I filed as early as I could which was 01/15 (had to wait for a form to be ready to file) I used TT. I was accepted about an hour later on 01/15. I checked WMR a few hours later and everything was there (one bar, refund amount and tax topic 152.) State was accepted yesterday 01/20 I’m in georgia. So far no changes, everything has remained the same since 01/15. Didn’t really expect it to though since yesterday was the first official day.

So I used my last pay check stub to file my taxes and I got all the numbers right pretty much but my total wages I got the numbers mixed up. Instead of putting **,383 I put **,838. I’ve been accepted by the irs. But I’m wondering if this is gonna slow down me getting my money back.

Argg!! Filed on the 18th, didn’t get accepted yesterday and still not accepted this morning. Just called hrb and they can’t provide any information about whether it’s actually been submitted or not – they just directed me to call the IRS hotline. IRS hotline has no information on my return. So frustrated. This is the last time I use hrb!!

Efiled and got accepted on 1/20 around 11am EST. I’m only going to check once a day around noon (as hard as that is going to be) until I reach the DDD. Then I’ll go maniacal checking here, there and everywhere lol.

I filed on the 6th with tag got accepted yesterday at 8 am. Tax topic 152 and 1 bar on wmr site. Tax transcript says n/a 2 ages transcript is the only thing I can look at. Hoping next week ddd starts my car died last week. Depending on other people when u live in the woods in Maine stinks. Anyways good luck everyone. I don’t think it takes any longer. My husband had one last year and we were accepted on the 2nd and money was in our account by the 12th. However, they took the money twice, once from state and again from federal. They refund what they were over paid but it took over a month

I filed this same form for myself using HR Block and had not problem. I went with TaxAct for my daughter because I was able to file her state free.

Filing with another company won’t help if IRS hasn’t released that form yet. However,I checked on IRS website and that form has been available since 1/7

Prepared a tax return for a family member on 1/19. I’ve still not been able to submit it because it tells me that form 5695, Residential Energy Credits is not available, and will be released at a later date. I’m giving it one more day, and then I’ll use another company. This is the message I receive:

I filed on 1/13/15 was accepted the same day. WMR showed 1 bar, accepted and processing. Account in SBBT showing as well. Two days later bars are missing, refund amount missing, just says returned being processed and and a dd will be given when available.

Toi know that topic 152 is just information about refund options, however everyone seems to be happy if it shows topic 152 on wmr. and unhappy if its not showing topic 152 yet and i keep hearing this means something like youre done being reviewed, they didnt find any problems, youre thru the processing and about to b givin ddd. can some of u shed some light on this i feel like there are too many ppl excited to see that topic 152 for it not to mean something but theres a lot of guessing on here so id love to hear opinions on this from both sides

If I am not mistaken we had to have insurance or pay penalties last year as well. So that should already be in their system. Last year they opened season on 1/31 with ddd of 2/6. SO by that logic we should see refunds around 26-27th??

mine were accepted on the 13th of this month, i filed on the 7th. WMR has shown one bar since being accepted including today, official tax day. I just filed my husbands at 13:30 tonight and his was accepted within 2 minutes of me submitting it. Everyone is saying possibly the 26th, but how come not possibly the 23rd?? I am pretty sure they only deposit on fridays. my returns were always accepted amd then the following friday i always received my direct deposit.

Hey Norcal, how does it feel to be wrong? There are test batches every year. Congress is always changing tax laws/updating tax laws/extending credits, which requires reprogramming of IRS computer systems yearly…which in turn requires testing. IRS in turn pulls reviews early every year to make sure everything is running as it should for opening day.

It’s probably normal now but I do remember a filing year where everyone was delighted when that showed up.

That may have been the year our returns went to manual processong and got delayed til Feb. 28 then it got pulled up sooner a week later.

For all those wondering, code 152 does not mean anything good or bad. It is just a general information code about the refund. If you have a code 152.. that means there are currently no issues with your return. There are other codes that do mean something is wrong, if you get another code, then it will be time to worry.

It usually takes about 5-7 days to APPROVE a refund but, could take more because some returns require additional review. Then several more days for that refund to be sent out depending on where you fall in the ACH queuing system and what days are designated as refund transmit days. In any case, if there are no issues with your return, you can expect a refund in 7-21 days.
