All of these acceptance emails are getting my hopes up! Filed 1/18, so hopefully I’ll get mine soon and not be glitched!

I had a daughter that passed at one month, the man at HR Block told me I could claim her for the entire year….she had a social security number though. Sorry for your loss, I know what you are going through.

E-filed with TT on 1/16/15. Just received my acceptance email and text around 11:30am EST on 1/20/15! It’s been a crazy few tax years. Had to catch up on some missed years and payoff some offsets. This year– free and clear! Im a single dad and really need a break– planning a cruise! Need my DDD ASAP!!

Filed on 17th with Turbo Tax (No EIC or Glitch), went from pending to accepted about 15 minutes ago. IRS is showing received (one bar) and Turbo Tax is giving refund window of 21st to Feb 10th. Good Luck to all other Turbo Tax filers.

The irs ALWAYS transmits several tests batches before the acceptance date. It does NOT process them though. In the last 2 years, I was always part of the test batch. Not this year, I still did mine on the 15th, but didn’t get accepted until today. Just because it accepted your return early, you WILL NOT get a refund sooner. You will get it at the same time as everyone else. The irs accepts returns, but they need to be processed and approved by the date on the cycle chart, in order to get your refund on the date listed.

About the TT glitch concerning the 1040A with EIC for 2+ dependents…..I thought I was part of that glitch, filed a 1040A and had all of the other criteria, I had filed on 1/16 and have been “Pending” ever since. So, I thought I was part of that glitch, I just received an email from TT 2 minute ago saying my return was accepted by IRS. So, was the 1/22/15 resubmit date going around just a hoax? Just wanted everyone to know that today is the 20th, official open date of IRS and mine was accepted today, so, maybe this whole glitch problem wasn’t true???

I was just accepted via TT also. I filed 1/14. They’ve already refunded my fees so that’s a plus.

The IRS did not accept any returns before January 20. Your tax provider received your returned and held it until today.

I filed on the 12th with Freetaxusa, I was accepted on the 14th. When I go to WMR nothing has changed, the orange bar is still on received & processing. I was hoping that when the 20th hit it would have changed :( Has anyone heard about different DDD? I seen on one site where they said the 3rd as a DDD but not sure with all the different dates going around. I guess if anything it’ll be here by the 5th

Okay I filed with turbo tax on 1/15 and it was in pending. So, in fear I was affected by the glitch, also filed using tax act.

I JUST got an email from tax act saying federal was rejected for primary SSN already being used.

Checked TT, still said pending, so I just went to the IRS2Go app (has where’s my refund built into it) and I show one orange bar, and it’s been accepted.

So, people with TT pending but no glitch? Check your WMR. Hopefully you’ll be pleasantly surprised too! Good luck!

I’m a “glitcher” with TT this year. I contacted them via FB and here’s the reply I received. “Sorry for the delay, Daniel. I have received your email and after looking into this further for you, it does appear that your tax return is one that is affected by this. However, there is no action necessary on your part. Your return will be automatically resubmitted on January 22nd or sooner.”

I then asked why we weren’t notified, will this delay my refund, what does “on the 22nd or sooner” mean, and how we will know that it has been resubmitted. This is their reply: “I completely understand your concerns and frustration, Daniel. I would like to sincerely apologize for the delay of information regarding this error. As of right now, this will not delay when you will receive your tax refund. Also, It is never a good idea to transmit two returns in a given tax year. I would like to reassure you that this will be taken care of and your tax return will get submitted to the IRS. The reason the date to be resubmitted is January 22nd or sooner, is because this is when the IRS expects to have the issue resolved so the return can be submitted successfully. You can stay up to date on the status of your return, by following the link below.”

So sorry for your loss, my nephew was born stillborn as well. From what the CSR told her she could not claim the child. We could however, deduct medical and funeral expenses. As these were more than the standard deduction. Also if the child was alive long enough to obtain a social then possibly but since he was not alive when born it wasn’t possible. So sorry again for your loss. It’s not a easy thing to lose a child so hard. So sorry.

If your child was stillborn, you can not claim him/her as a dependent. Had s/he lived, even for a short time, you could have. But unfortunately, that is not the case if the child was stillborn.

You can choose to itemize and deduct eligible expenses (such as medical). However, most people do not have enough deductions when itemizing to be worth more than the standard deductions, thus it likely will not be beneficial for you to itemize but definitely consult someone for educated input.

I caked and they said if anything it will go out the 22nd but the IRS can take up to 48 hours to process so it would still be in in time to receive the 1/5 ddd. Hopefully this is accurate.

I wasn’t trying to get accepted early but inquired with them due to my file date. Glad I did.

Generally, your entire refund will initially be offset, then the injured spouse is processed, then they refund a part of it. Any straight income tax refund is yours, and a portion of any credits goes to you (EITC, Child Tax Credit). The other part of the credits goes towards the old loans.

Aaaand, on my end, still nothing from /last/ year’s taxes. Advocate didn’t return my call last week, so time for an angry call to her supervisor.

I lost my daughter at 5 months , 2 and a half years ago and I was able to claim her on my taxes. When you file it ask if the person passed away that year. Sorry if it’s too personal but has the child recieved a ssn ? That makes the question easier to answer.

So, if that is the case, like I said this year you should be lucky, but if you do not pay it or make arrangements to pay and pay it out before next year, it will be offset then, with penalties and interest added

I personally use net spend and adore their service, but $10,000 is their limit, and you have to make sure if you’re filing jointly that your spouse is also on the account by faxing that information.

If you file with your last paystub, yes the numbers can be different. Especially for monthly or biweekly workers, because some of their pay at the start of the year, is for work performed in the year before. Worst case scenario is the IRS will review it later on in the year, and if it causes you to owe money back you will.

Most often, when you filed with H&R Block, you are accepted on opening day if you file early, not before. It’s very rare with them.

It did not specifically say I had any tax debt. It said I had no nontax debt, but items are posted daily. In the past if you had a debt it would say your refund has been or will be offset, Which it did not say.

in reply to: 2015 Tax Season #4092910

Okay, I always check every year to see if we have an offset on our Social Security numbers. I had 2 offsets in the past 10 years, so I always check because the last one was not expected.

So, the new language says as of today, there are no non tax debts for your Social Security number.

So the new language throws me off.

If I had any sort of offset, it would be taxes. But the hotline does not say I have any tax debt and for certain, no non tax debt.

Should I take this to mean that we are okay this year, provided nothing shows up in the next few weeks?

If you are listed on the federal treasury offset program hotline as having A debt, they are going to take it out of your federal.

At first they will just deducted out of your state tax refund. But if the debt is larger than your tax refund, what will ultimately happen is they will offset your federal to cover what they haven’t been able to collect. If that were to ever happen, they simply take what they have to offset, and the rest is forwarded to you, with no delay. It’s not like in years past where you had to wait several weeks beyond

I filed with tax act, because I heard that TurboTax was having a glitch, and I wanted to avoid that if I was one of those in the glitch.

I’m still in pending status with TurboTax so I also filed through TaxACT. It will just be a matter of which return gets there first, then the other one will reject.
