I filed on 1/27/16 and am being told to expect mine between 4/23/16 – 5/07/16
My return was seized because IRS said I received an advance payment for Premium Tax Credit which I never did. Submitted the paperwork on 3/12/16 and I have absolutely no advancement on it. I submitted my return on 1/27/16 and here it is going on 2 months later and I was told by the IRS that I needed to be patient and due to a heavy workload and the fact my refund was going through a strict inspection (guess im being audited…last time I pay TT for their services), the lady told me to expect my refund between 4/23/16 – 5/7/16. And to not bother calling until 4/23/16 for further updates…I am gonna say this….BS BS BS BS. IF I owed them money, theyd be all over my backside and threatening me to get my money and yet I gotta sit back and smile and wave at them while they hold onto my money. And yeah they do get interest the longer they hold the money for.
I got told I most likely wont receive my refund til around June
February 17, 2016 at 12:08 pm in reply to: Bars gone and tt152 is still there. Told under review. Help. #4141170@Sickandtired I know that feeling. Try this one on for size
Filed: 1/27
Accepted: 1/27
RETURN SEIZED FOR OBAMACARE: 1/30 (TurboTax has had more seizures this year for Obamacare than any other tax company) and paid them for their services as well…stupid me
Found out return was seized on 2/15 only after tax topic 152 and bars disappeared
Idiots sent IRS letter to address I havent lived at in over a year. Now gotta wait 5-10 business days to get that and verify I am exempt for the umpteenth time.So I got screwed both ways from Sunday
February 17, 2016 at 12:02 pm in reply to: IS IT REALLY 6-8 WEEKS? I KNOW YOU ALL KNOW. DONT IGNORE THIS POST. #4141166@Wait For It Dude Stop whining. You filed what in February? Here’s one for ya.
Filed: 1/27 using TurboTax
Accepted: 1/27
RETURN SEIZED: 1/30 because of Obamacare (apparently TurboTax had more seizures this year for this than any other tax preparation provider)
Found out about it: 2/15
Wait for IRS letter because they had wrong address: 5-10 Business Days
Wait for IRS to process return: 21 MORE DAYS
Refund after that: Anyone’s ballparkSo I am looking for my refund no sooner than March 23, 2016 – April 6, 2016 if I am lucky. And I filed on 1/27. So that is literally nearly 70 days I could be waiting for my refund after I filed on 1/27. So that is around 6-8 weeks so yeah. AND that is if I get lucky and they dont just decide to seize my entire refund like the greedy SOBs they are.
And the best part is that I made under the filing threshold and what not…was evicted and homeless last year for almost 2 weeks, so I am exempt in more ways than one. Dont qualify for State Insurance because I am 27 white male and not disabled.
My advice: Be patient and wait your turn like everyone else has too. AND DONT USE CAPS AND SOUND LIKE A DBAG AND MORE PEOPLE MIGHT HELP YOU. Gotta love caps
Called on 2/15 and was told they seized my refund on 1/30 over Obamacare to which amazingly I am exempt but they are still trying to take the $695 amount. So now I have to call them back on a phone with no minutes because my cell provider is magically having technical difficulties and blah blah blah. And they sent the letter to a very very very did I happen to mention very old address I havent lived at in a long time. So needless to say I am kinda screwed atm and it gets better is that I am exempt from the penalty. I made under the filing threshold AND their cheapest plan was 1% over the minimum exemption percentage for income. (their cheapest is like $75 with subsidies. That would be $900. Well the filing threshold is $10,300. And if you do the math ($900/$10,300 = 8.7378640776699%) which is 8% or higher.
Filed on 1/27 and just got my Kansas Refund on 2/16 after they took out their offset.
IRS seized my return and wont finish processing it til I submit a bunch of paperwork for “ObamaCare”. Only one problem with their theory. I AM EXEMPT. I made below the Filing Threshold this year. EXEMPT. Their cheapest bronze plan would have been 9% of my income for the whole year. EXEMPT. (If the cheapest plan would be 8% or more of your total income, then you are exempt) so yes IRS is holding our money hostage and I am about to file a letter to my congressman about this. Oh and they refused to tell me until yesterday 2/15 about this.
Filed 1/27
Accepted: 1/27
Seized: 1/30
Letter sent to very very old address I havent lived at in a long time: 2/9
IRS got around to telling me: 2/15 AFTER I called them numerous times and they could have told me but no. We want you to wait the full 21 days to tell you something that you might need to know@Erica Welcome to the club. I filed mine on 1/27 and was supposedly accepted on 1/27 because the bar showed up the following evening on WMR. And here it is 2/13 and cant order transcripts, no DDD. My patience with these retards is the equivalent of driving on Black ICe
@bReal everytime I call IRS they wont tell me anything. I get the canned 21 days response and they wont tell me jack. So I dont know if they accepted it late or what. TT and the WMR said it was received on 1/27 and I checked on 1/28 and it stated that the return was received
@LABsMomma well one lady who filed through TT has claimed that after her $70 for state and federal fees were withdrawn from SBBT, she received the rest minus $1000. She called IRS and they said that they sent the full refund, (nothing was offset) and yet somehow between IRS -> SBBT -> Consumer $1000 disappeared. Sounds fishy I will admit
@Jj I already called my bank and no deposits or anything pending. This is enough BS to make me question my sanity
IRS Head talks with IRS Agents about playing jokes with people:
Agent Head: I got it, I got it. Lets give everyone a canned 21 day reply and once their returns have actually processed, give them a DDD date, but withhold the money. Oh we could cause so much confusion.
Agent: How about we also randomly give people their refunds without updating their bars? That will further the confusion.
Agent 2: Oh we could also remove bars from some people. That would be even better.
Agent 3: And we could just sit on some people’s returns rather than processing it. Would make it funnier when they get really mad.Great joke for IRS
People’s reactions: They want IRS’s heads AND their freaking money. Not jokes or games@Justme How do y’all get so lucky? Every single time I call IRS to figure out why my return still isnt processed, I always get the canned “21” days response and I filed on 1/27. I was even told by TT to call them yesterday for transcript information and the lady who answered told me to not bother calling back despite what TT says until 21 days passed “as we are not allowed to look into your taxes til that time”…its actually very very annoying
@Kbaile04 The update last night was for 2/16 of next week for a DDD. If tomorrow does have an update we wont get our $$$ until Friday of next week at the very earliest. And yes my patience with IRS is gone as well. I filed on 1/27 and still nothing in 15 days of waiting
Still no update and didnt make the DDD for the 16th. That is 20 days after filing. So I dont know what game they are playing
@Carmelpop
Filed: 1/27/16
Accepted: 1/27/161/27/16-2/10/16 One bar only
Still havent been approved or anything.
Guess that counts for 2 weeks of negative movement.
I was told my refund was held up by ID verify and when I tried to confirm my identify online: We are unable to verify your identity online. So I called the number and was told “Please wait until the 21 days have elapsed.” WTF ARE YOU DOING IRS? HUH?
@CARMELPOP
Usually the updates are on Wednesday. Some are done on Thursday. And some are actually daily. I do know that 05 cycle people are usually on Wednesday. However this last line could be wrong and if it is, I hope someone proves me wrong. Because I filed on 1/27 2 weeks ago today and today is Wednesday and still no update
While I am happy for those filing in February and getting their refunds rapidly like they are. I have a few questions to IRS. WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US WHO FILED IN JANUARY YOU ***HATS? WHERE THE **** IS OUR REFUNDS?
I still have no DDD and I filed on 1/27/16 so here’s hoping anyways
Filed: 1/27/16
Accepted: 1/27/16System hacked
WMR: 2/10/16 -> 2 weeks later (14 days)
Still only 1 bar…
Call Bank to check account: NOTHING and nothing pending
Anger level: Through the roof and nearly 3/4 of the way out of Earth into space
February 9, 2016 at 11:28 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4135109love how he couldnt keep his facts straight or verify his source
February 9, 2016 at 11:20 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4135095@Tyler because The Masked IRS Agent is full of shite
@Cam the part that is frustrating me is…NO APPROVAL :(. I’m still stuck on received where’ I’ve been since I filed. That is my complaint. I could settle for “Your refund has been approved” blah blah blah…but it will be another week before you get your money. As long as I know if it has been approved. That is all I am asking
February 9, 2016 at 11:11 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4135072@The Masked IRS Agent: hope something outside the ordinary gets approved to speed things up. We are all working 10 hour days and as soon as this season is over we will lose our seasonal job so there isn’t allot of interest in “speeding up” the end of our employment.” Obviously if you do work for them…THAT IS OUR F**KING MONEY YOU ARE SCREWING WITH. If you worked for my company, you’d be out on your *** in a heart beat.
if not…I hope hell has a deep enough hole for you :)
@Misty call the IRS. Since it’s your 21 days now…they can NOT give you the run around. They will have to look into what is going on.
February 9, 2016 at 11:05 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4135047@Masked IRS Agent Well that may be all well and good. But what about 1/19-20 filers whose 21 days end tomorrow and today respectively? Mine ends next week and I have never once in my 9 years of filing my taxes ever seen this amount of crap. But unless you give your source and where this information came from, then that is all it is garbage. If you dont want to risk the person’s job, posting what was said online is just as bad. If you cant verify your sources, just like your elementary school teacher says…then it doesnt exist and is therefore not worth the words on the paper.
@chriswu dont bother. The Masked IRS Agent is obviously a paid government stooge.
February 9, 2016 at 10:46 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4134994Masked IRS Agent…can it. Money we are not “due” yet? It’s OUR MONEY, the IRS is screwing around with. I bet if it was the IRS’s money, then it would be hell on earth to get it. And in that regard, the next time I owe the IRS money…they will get it 21 days AFTER they tell me that I owe them it. A lot of people have gone OVER the 21 days and still they keep getting bounced to whatever order the IRS wants and still havent gotten their money.
February 9, 2016 at 10:39 am in reply to: 2/9 Outtage may push (SOME) refunds past 21 days. #4134970I give up with idiots on here and the IRS
lol…so where is everyone else’s “21 days” The Masked IRS Agent? Since you obviously work for them by defending them and their stupidity :). Course it only seems to apply to people who filed in January I noticed
Its still down for me…it crashed around 10 PM and I am still getting an unavailable message
1/27 here and still as of 2/8 no update. 12 straight days with not even a single update. Guess I will have to wait til next Wednesday 2/17 and pray I dont get booted to the back again :(
Seems to be IRS had a huge budget cut and all of our refunds are being delayed
Also this might help:
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — This week the IRS started accepting all tax returns, but it’s warning taxpayers that it could take longer to process refunds.
Due to a shrinking IRS budget and new procedures for the Affordable Care Act, officials say it could be a rough tax season for many taxpayers. That’s why experts say it’s so important to file early.
The IRS has said refunds could be delayed by at least a week because of budget cuts. The earlier you file, the earlier you’ll get your refund.
The budget cuts have led to fewer workers, and that leads to fewer audits. The IRS may not have the manpower to conduct as many audits or collect overdue tax bills. The Washington Post reports the IRS could lose $2 billion in revenue that otherwise would have been collected.
It’s important for to get your return in early to reduce your chance of identity theft. Scammers will take advantage of procrastinators by stealing W-2 info, filing fake returns and cashing in on the check before you even realize it.
Tax experts and the IRS expects to see confusion this year surrounding the Affordable Care Act. ACA required most people to have health insurance last year or pay a fine. This year, expect to see a health care question on your return, in addition to listing the usual income and tax credits.
Throughout this process, you might want to call the IRS for help. One report said more than 100 million people call the IRS every year for help, but this year some experts are warning less than half of those callers will get through to a human being.
The IRS told 24-Hour News 8 that budget cuts have drained its resources, so workers can’t get to the phones fast enough. Callers could be waiting at least 30 minutes before speaking with someone.
The IRS recommends taxpayers go to its website before calling. There, you can find lots of information and tutorials that will likely answer your question.
Says in a nutshell that IRS got huge budget cuts…let a lot of people go and that we get to pick up the flak for it
The only part that frustrates me is that people filing after 1/31 have gotten theirs in droves and the rest of us pretty much did get skipped over.
From Turbotax: 7% of TurboTax customers whose returns were also accepted on January 27 have received their money.
Guys be patient…as I have told lots of other people. There are people from 1/31 to as far back as 1/19 filers who still havent gotten their updates. I filed on 1/27/16 and as of 2/7 am still sitting on 1 bar. And I have seen people file on 2/2 and even 2/4 getting their refunds as early as 2/8 to 2/12. Not sure how they are determining refunds anymore. Guess filing in January was a bad idea in my opinion.
catwoman I filed 1/27/16 and have only 1 bar since then. going on 12 days with no update.
I filed on 1/27 and still am only on 1 bar. Not sure what the hold up is to be honest. 2/8/16 will be 12 days after filing and still no DDD. Starting to get agitated so I know your pain.
“WHAT DOSE IT MEAN I HAD 1 BAR SINCE THE DAY I FILED ON TUESDAY AMD IT SAID GENERIC MRSSAGE REFUND DATE BE PROVIDED WHEN AVAILABLE NOW MY BAR GONE IT SAYS REFUND DATE WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN AVAILABLE ?? WHY DOSE IT SAY THAT NOW LAST YEAR I HAD T WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER FOR MY REFUND I SURE HOPE IT IS NOT SOMETHING LIKE THAT BS AGAIN THIS YEAR PLEASE HELP ME ???!??? IM LOST ???!!”
Means they havent gotten around to processing it. I have the same exact thing and I filed almost 2 weeks ago.
I filed on 1/27 and am still on only 1 bar. Join the club…we got jackets. Just amazing how IRS handles “our” money if they owe us…but God forbid you owe them money and its like “gimme gimme now now now.” Yet if they owe us money I swear the must drag the heaviest battleship anchor from California to Washington DC to get around paying us
I e-filed on 1/27 and am still on 1 bar. Accepted 30 minutes after I filed.
Dont feel bad Judi…I filed mine on 1/27 and it was accepted the same day and WMR hasnt moved since. Friend of mine at work filed on 1/28 and he was accepted and approved on 1/29 and he has a DDD of 2/5. I am really starting to lose confidence with IRS right now.
Filed: 1/27
Accepted 1/272/4: WMR: Return Accepted (Still)
Friend:
Filed 1/28
Accepted: 1/29
Approved: 1/29
DDD: 2/5Seeing a problem with this picture?
Just super frustrating from my POV because if you owe them money, they will call you day and night, threaten you, garnish your wages etc, but if they owe you money, heaven forbid they must be dragging a battleship anchor with them because they take their sweet time getting stuff approved…just annoying as all get out especially since that money would really come in handy about now and im tired of listening to people in my town bragging about their refunds coming in early.
Went to pay my brother in laws xbox pawn off while he was at work and the owner was bragging how people had been in all day long buying all their xbox consoles and playstation consoles with their refunds. While I am happy they got their refunds early, I am starting to get highly aggravated with our government and their drag *** policy
1/27 for me and no update since and calling all I got was an automated live person. “Please allow for 21 days while we sit on our rumps and rotate.”
I filed on 1/27 and was accepted 30 minutes later but havent seen the bar move since then. A friend of mine filed on 1/28 and he was accepted and approved on 1/29 and he gets his refund tomorrow, yet I am still waiting on the approval for mine. And trust me I know the feeling and calling IRS is useless. “Please allow for 21 days, because we cant explain anything or view your taxes til that time.” Makes me want to owe them taxes for just one year and when they call “Please allow for 21 days for a reply.”
