Toi know that topic 152 is just information about refund options, however everyone seems to be happy if it shows topic 152 on wmr. and unhappy if its not showing topic 152 yet and i keep hearing this means something like youre done being reviewed, they didnt find any problems, youre thru the processing and about to b givin ddd. can some of u shed some light on this i feel like there are too many ppl excited to see that topic 152 for it not to mean something but theres a lot of guessing on here so id love to hear opinions on this from both sides

If I am not mistaken we had to have insurance or pay penalties last year as well. So that should already be in their system. Last year they opened season on 1/31 with ddd of 2/6. SO by that logic we should see refunds around 26-27th??

mine were accepted on the 13th of this month, i filed on the 7th. WMR has shown one bar since being accepted including today, official tax day. I just filed my husbands at 13:30 tonight and his was accepted within 2 minutes of me submitting it. Everyone is saying possibly the 26th, but how come not possibly the 23rd?? I am pretty sure they only deposit on fridays. my returns were always accepted amd then the following friday i always received my direct deposit.

I filed tonight with TaxAct at 6:15 and it was accepted at 6:16PM. I’m not bothering with checking right now, I’ll give it a week or so…

We filed Sunday night via taxact and we were accepted this morning. Here’s to hoping for a positive year with no holdups and quick deposits.

Hey Norcal, how does it feel to be wrong? There are test batches every year. Congress is always changing tax laws/updating tax laws/extending credits, which requires reprogramming of IRS computer systems yearly…which in turn requires testing. IRS in turn pulls reviews early every year to make sure everything is running as it should for opening day.

                                Next!

The thing people need to take in to affect that this year they have to check on the Obama care before your taxes can be finalized.

                                    I get that.

Maybe it was a few years ago, we were held up and that made tax code 152 such a good thing…a sign of progress?

It’s probably normal now but I do remember a filing year where everyone was delighted when that showed up.

That may have been the year our returns went to manual processong and got delayed til Feb. 28 then it got pulled up sooner a week later.

For all those wondering, code 152 does not mean anything good or bad. It is just a general information code about the refund. If you have a code 152.. that means there are currently no issues with your return. There are other codes that do mean something is wrong, if you get another code, then it will be time to worry.

It usually takes about 5-7 days to APPROVE a refund but, could take more because some returns require additional review. Then several more days for that refund to be sent out depending on where you fall in the ACH queuing system and what days are designated as refund transmit days. In any case, if there are no issues with your return, you can expect a refund in 7-21 days.

listen …… theres no test batch this year., the irs began processing all returns today. i filed 3 hrs ago. 20 minutes later i got email from tt saying my federal was accepted and will begin processing. checked the irs website…. confirmed. that makes you and i at the same point in processing.

that test batch from two years ago was when they installed a whole new system… it had to be tested then. last year went smoothly, remember?

Ive read other places that if Im the one that made all the money, all the credits and refund goes to me considering I made all the money, and he made none. Not sure how true that is though. Looking foward to the full amount, which Im hoping I still get considering he made no money :/

I can not post a new thread for some reason and have a question. My return was rejected 6 times today (yes, 6) It is due to no error of mine however, I filed through TaxAct. I have never used anyone else and never had a problem until this year, I have 2 W2’s from separate employer. When I submit my e-file I would get a notification (usually within mins after the intial one) that said my return was rejected due to EIN and employer name not matching, okay fine. Go in to fix it and find out it is from a 3rd W2. No employer name or address or EIN or amount, nothing on it because, well, it does not exist and I do not have it. Just says W2-My Name-0.00 So, I delete it. Resubmit taxes and BAM! there it is again. WTH?! I contact TaxAct, they lead me through steps, try some different thing, rejected, rejected, rejected. Last thing they tell me to do is to download a new browser and try that so I did and now it is pending…If it is rejected again for this reason what do I do? Call the IRS? Could this be their system? Or could it only be TaxAct and do I just need to file through someone else? It’s driving me insane! Help!

I filed with TT on 1/16 got accept 1/17 and got state accepted today but on WMR no topic 152 and “We cannot provide any information about your refund.” I just came off of an audit last year so I think they have me this year too.

During that time the DDDs first given was 2-6-2014, a week from irs start date. This year the tax season started 10 days earlier from last year. Which as I predict DDDs will be given for the 26th or at least for the 27th which is a week after the irs start date. This is just my theory though.

The IRS says that it’s UP TO 21 days from the opening of tax season, which is today, however most people receive their refund within 7-10 days. The TT date of Feb. 20 is a general date that all people who filed early are receiving, it’s not accurate, nor is it for sure. You will not know the exact date until it posts on WMR. The IRS may have already processed our returns but they will not begin to approve refunds until today, you should see an update within 24-72 hours from this morning. The earliest refund date I have seen on the cycle charts is Feb. 5th-6th, but none of those charts are “official”, they are all just estimates. The IRS doesn’t typically release their refund cycle chart anymore. Hopefully, if it’s anything like last year, the first DDD will be 12/28, since tax season started earlier than usual on 12/20. That would be in line with previous years but you just never know. Like I said, you should see some movement on your WMR within the next 24-72 hours. It updates once every 24 hours, typically between 1-5 AM, so hopefully we will wake up to some good news tomorrow :)

I have no bars, no amount and tax topic 152. I’m not too worried because it seems that most people do. I am hoping that just means that my return is almost done and was just waiting for the IRS to open. There is no way that this many people, who lost their bar, are in trouble or their returns are being delayed. At least I hope.

If I remember right, the opening day and next day acceptances (including test batches) are in the first set of DDD’s – as long as all is well with the return.

Second, did the child live at all, outside the womb? If they were born alive and died, you can claim them as a dependent. If you did not receive a SSN, you write DIED in the space and the attach a certified copy of the birth and death certificate. That is ONLY if they are considered a live birth by local standards. Disgusting, I know…

You can also itemize funeral expenses. That includes cremation and the burial plot.

I pulled the photo and ran it through an EXIF data reader…it shows the image was modified today…meaning photo shopped. That explains the hesitation to share anything without being asked, doesn’t it? Disappointing.
