How often does WMR update and does it update 7 days a week? For some reason I thought they only update on business days…
January 26, 2015 at 2:42 pm in reply to: Anyone stuck on "Your refund is still being processed" #4094209AnonymousThank you Floridian. We all have no choice but to be patient. I spoke with someone from Republic Bank because I saw that I have an account setup. I thought I paid my fees up front but I didn’t. She told me the name of my Bank, so i’m wondering if a test deposit has been made or what. We have all been thinking an update would have happened starting last week but it hasn’t. i’m just praying all goes well for everyone because we all need our money!!!
Kenny413Transcripts are AVAILABLE! 2014, just checked. weeeew
AnonymousQuestion; I just got off Republic’s website my account is setup. I didn’t think I had an account setup. I called and she told me I did and the name of my bank but that was it. Would they have already done a test run to my account?
Hello all. I was finally able to get in for transcripts 2014 is still n/a but before today it was unable to verify identity
resThat is photoshopped…spacing is off….font is off
Hopefully this is a good sign. I’ve been trying to get my transcripts for my daughters financial aid and the system wouldn’t let me in until just a few minutes ago. 2014 still says N/A but getting in is progress to me
Lauren@Josh. where did you get the info that if it says processing it means it is approved or is that just personal experience. I filed on 1/20 and it just says “Your return has been received and is currently being processed, please allow 30 days to receive your refund. If your refund has not been received in 30 days, please log on to the Georgia Department of Revenue website at http://dor.ga.gov/ complete the Replacement Check Request Form and follow the instructions.”
Just curious. I have never used the wheres my refund option for state before.
lennyfromga@tharok2 Yep I did It arrived at 9am as soon as my bank opened!!!
AnonymousMine also shows authorized 1/23. Still no deposit yet
AnonymousFilled 1/17 in CA, approved 1/23. Still no deposit yet…
EddieHey I believe it. It’s the time frame for sure. It’s on. Last few years it has been 10 days or less from filing to deposit. Sure we are all instanter’ snow meaning we want whatever instantly. It’s by design. I am guilty the same as everyone else. Sure would help to see some sort of progress though. Do not get me wrong waking up to a deposit is just as comforting but sure makes for some restless nights leading up to that deposit. I saw a post by an Ed Sal which made sense and I was able to match ituo with allot my other returns int be years past by looking attranscripts (when they letme log on). If I could post the image it might give a little comfort with a very very general estimation of the process. Basically Cycles are Thursday through Wednesday and the weeks break 2 cycles up. Hence filing on the 15-21 is 7 business days 10 days total until deposit. Which is what most think anyway. Last year most saw 10-14 day returns minus the glitch and early filers. Which is why I waited until the first day To file. No more crash test dummy for me.
I went and looked at the link and compared it to my WMR screen and its a bit off…. I’m not sure from the “screenshot” feature but it looks off. Also after checking several forums online including TT this Ryan… Is the only person approved?!?! If more than one person was approved the boards would be spilling over with approvals. In addition to that he never told them when he was accepted.. Therefore, for my end… I think I would love to believe that but I can’t. Hopefully we really get updates tonight. If I had to guess I would think hopefully by midweek we’d know what’s going on.
AspisIm really hoping I am wrong, someone please prove me wrong!
There is no space after the comma after the 28 like there is a space after the comma after 31. I agree with photo shop
kloriIt’s also funny how they used the same Orange color to block out the personal info that is used on the status bars….hmmmmm
AspisOk, not to rain on anyones parade here, but I think this is photoshopped. I am a programmer and web dev, I see and do a lot photoshop. Look at the January 28 date on the bottom left. The spacing is off.
Anyway, nothing definitive to say its fake for sure, and I hope its real! But I have doubts. Just thought id share.
Maybe Im just bitter and jealous and seeing something not there, I have to admit thats definately possible! :-)
batmanJody…. How do you know the screenshot is real? Im curious as to why people try lie, but ive seen a lot of photoshopped screenshots. im just curious.
KGLook at that picture closer. Notice where the social security number and refund amount are. Look at that color then at the bars, doesn’t it seem odd that its the same color and also look at how the font is different in the bold letters, they can be bold but the font is larger, I suspect photoshop.
awakeI tried calling and after about a 10 minute wait i got ahold of someone….i told them that i could not track my return online or on the hotline…….she told me it was processing and to give it more time….she said it normally takes 4-6 weeks…….but i have never had one take more than 7-8 days……they are usually pretty fast….and most of the time….i get refund before their system shows it…..
jody bScreenshot is real. URL is ssl secured using .jsp. This is real
Tobiashas anyone had success calling? I tried the number in this thread and it only recognizes 2013.
AaronI checked my WMR earlier and had one bar… now I’m getting the message
You may not have entered your information correctly. Please verify your personal tax data and try again.
Clearly they are working on something or my refund amount changed and I’m not aware of it.
Anyone getting this now?
TraciTI filed with TaxAct this morning (January 26th) and received a text just minutes later stating my federal was accepted by the IRS. It’s too early to check WMR, but I’m hoping for a DDD of maybe February 5th or 6th. Will keep you updated.
AnonymousWhat is the number to confirm offsets?
DDD?Please note, this is NOT my image.
Somebody posted on the Turboxtax forums an image which appears to show a DDD of January 28th, 2015.
The image can be found here.

I am not positive if this is legit, or if it was photoshopped or what, but here it is.
Crystalsorry typo in the link…it is

Amy MartinezI got an offset a few years back. Please know that even if this happens you can still get a large percentage of your redund. Just call and consolidate your loans (if u use the income based repayment plan your “payment” can be zero) & file whatever papers your lender asks you to file. I ended up getting most of my refund back, but it took until like July.
CrystalAlright, I don’t know if there is an truth to it or not but, I saw on the TT answer exchange that someone was Approved about 30 minutes ago. But I thought I would share. They said their DDD is 1/28…the link is here https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2616349-from-acceoted-to-approved
JbLMAO LOL the IRS suddenly launching a new website after the season has started with no notice???????? LIES and Fraud!!!! Don’t believe that a second!!!!
mswall06I usually have mine..or at least notifica that they’ve received it by now
Originally filed with TurboTax on the 20th had to refile on the 22nd due to their systems. Never heard anything on acceptance or rejection for the IRS. After looking through the forms TurboTax did not calculate the 3903 Moving Expenses form properly (never even took me through that part of my refund even though box 12 had a code of “P” with an amount in it.
Refiled with TaxSlayer last night as TurboTax still had not pushed mine through to the IRS and guess what happen…. Accepted within 10 minutes of filing.
Checked WMR before I refiled with TaxSlayer just to make sure the IRS hadn’t received it as of that time.
No information was listed for my social/status/amountChecked WMR 20 minutes after I got the accepted email from TaxSlayer and whaddayaknow it’s there with the amount that TaxSlayer stated I was getting back. (The amount didn’t bother me as it was less then $100 difference between the two but the fact that TT had not submitted or rejected my refund from their system for missing fields on Form 3903 really gave me a bad taste for them now).
JanesobersIn Oregon, state refund was deposited to my account on the 22nd.
Prncs leaMy Iowa was accepted on Friday morning. My ex husband accepted on 1.21. It says the same thing for both of us.
January 26, 2015 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Anyone stuck on "Your refund is still being processed" #4094172ToddWhy would they roll out a new WMR right at tax season, I don’t believe that.
LeeLEElast year it took a couple of days before tax topic 152 showed up but this year as soon as I was accepted it was there so to be honest I don’t think it means anything
smoovAccepted 01/20, Refund Approve 01/21, Nothing in my account yet.
January 26, 2015 at 12:19 pm in reply to: Anyone stuck on "Your refund is still being processed" #4094169AnonymousSo is that the Wed after 1/30.

BellaOn second thought, nevermind. That makes me nervous. If it wasn’t an official statement from the IRS, someone could be giving out a fake website to get people’s social security numbers and scam them out of their refund. I’ll hold tight. Good luck, everyone :)
MCRT88So, I know all of us are worried and wanting our refund back ASAP. But I honestly don’t think that they are going to wait until the end of next week to start DDs.. It would be a HUGE mistake to wait that long to process DDD. It would cause a MASSIVE move of money and a ton of other working pieces, all at the same time, and would be a set up for disaster. It has ONLY BEEN 3 BUSINESS DAYS since the IRS officially opened, the first day they typically don’t even process any returns, they just start accepting massive amounts and then the following day they start the processing. Today is only, technically, the 4th business day they have been open.. That said, They will not push an update on WMR with DDDs unless they have a SUBSTANTIAL amount to update, otherwise their phone lines blow up with people asking “Why did they file this day and have a DDD and I don’t?”.. Not to mention yesterday was Sunday, they don’t approve DDDs on sundays, so obviously there was no update on WMR.. I have also heard that this year had a TON more early filers compared to last year. So, with all of that information at hand, including the face that the IRS did have a substantial budget cut.. I would expect to see some updates tonight/tomorrow morning, if not the following night at the latest. Its going to take an extra day or two compared to last year, but fear not.. It will happen. It always does. Just be patient and keep checking your WMR, SBBT and Bank Acct. WE WILL GET OUR MONEY. It may not be tomorrow, but I expect to have it by the end of this week/ beginning of next week at the latest. For all we know they could push an update tonight/tomorrow and it be in our accounts Thursday/Friday… Just saying, it wouldn’t be the first time somebody has got their money 2 days after receiving a DDD. It could happen, or it could be next week, either way it will happen soon.
BellaHello, Floridian, do you happen to know what the new site is? Are we able to go on there and check that one? :)
BellaUgh! Funny how they can play with our money but when we owe them, they are QUICK to take it :|
NoelleIn Iowa, accepted on the 21st but refund tracker says they haven’t even received yet
FloridianTiffany Carlisle says “So I just got off the phone with the irs supervisor. After a lot of prodding I got him to tell me that they are releasing a new wmr, and that they wont update the old one. Several people have been approved, more than half of those that were accepted before 1/21. We will see information for dd on 1/30, and deposits will start on Wednesday. Im not sure how much truth there is but thats what he said
He also said that bars went missing becsuse they xferred the Info to the new site. payne1967It means its updating…just wait a bit and try again if it happens..if you haven’t been accepted yet it’ll tell you that also. I just checked and worked fine for me:)
RobFeightAccepted by the Internal Revenue Service on the twentieth: still stuck on the first bar for processing. Has anyone been graciously graduated to the elite “Approved” middle section yet?
As far as I’m concerned they can keep a hold on what is rightfully mine as long as they want, but I believe in earning interest. And, I’m lenient on methods of payment.

a.w.I was accepted the 20th too, and still haven’t heard anything other than they are processing returns from 2 weeks ago and it takes 4 days.
SchmidtkidsI filed and was accepted on the 21st, I see many other states have already been accepted and have a DDD. My daughter’s and mine still says they have no record of our state return. Anyone in Iowa filed and have DDD yet?

RonI know this has been said 100 times but i will say once more… no matter when you were accepted … the processing of returns did not start until 20 Jan.. Any returns that were accepted prior to that date were just test batches that the IRS uses to ensure their delivery and storage systems are working correctly. With that being said, that means the returns have been in the processing chain for 7 days as of today. I would expect to start seeing movement starting overnight tonight or tomorrow night. With the first DD dates being around this coming Friday- Monday.
A. W.I’m in MA and still haven’t heard anything either. The website said they received it, but no processing information.
gtjibI also got this email about the first week of January or so.
JakeingaNo processing was done on any return prior to January 20th this year, even if you went back in time and submitted your return in 1993 and it was accepted in 1996, processing did not begin on returns until 20 January 2015 for Tax Year 2014.
That means all the talk of test batches and early acceptances is pointless. We go through this every year, people file early, weeks before the IRS begins processing returns, they will accept a number of returns early, mostly to ensure that their systems are working correctly, and everything is ready. Once those test batches are accepted nothing happens to them until the IRS opens processing for all tax payers, which once again was 20th January 2015. 21 days from that date is 11 January 2015, they won’t entertain your call as an issue until 12 January 2015, no matter how many times you call, no matter how well you rationalize your notion that because they accepted your return earlier.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but strange things are afoot. I don’t, at least at this point, believe that anything bad is going on, I think the IRS is doing a little political grandstanding by not allowing the WMR site to show current updates, and that everything is still moving like it should. At the end of the day they may well have approved millions of returns and have scheduled millions of DD’s, and just aren’t telling us. If another week passes and we haven’t heard reports of movement on WMR then some concern would be justified, and if the 12th of February comes and goes with no DD’s, then we are dealing with a real problem and will be justified in being upset and worried. Until then we watch the IRS play political games.
@bella it would be 21 days from the opening day. I know they used to do them earlier but in the last couple of years early filers are usually put back into que. They are used for testing purposes. I filed early, If going by the 21 days I should of had my DDD on last week of jan. I didn’t get my return until feb 21 they put it back into que and made it as if I had filed on opening day. Which was the 31st last year. When I called the IRS about it when I noticed I had code 1121 on tax topic. They said that the 21 days was from opening day. The scary part is I had a DDDate for 1/28 The date amount and bars left and my refund was canceled and an notice was issued and then I was put back into que.
Hopefully this practice has changed but it’s a new one. So it seems when ever I file early I have issues. When I file on opening or after tax season is over, I have hardly issues except with myself of waiting…
Hopefully it helps I was certainly stunned last year but I vowed never file early again after that…
JustWantMyMoneyI got this email from ODT:
Dear Ohio Taxpayer:
In order to better protect Ohio taxpayers and prevent tax fraud, the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) is implementing additional safeguards that will inevitably cause some refunds to be delayed this upcoming income tax filing season.
These steps are being taken to further bolster defenses in anticipation of a continuing increase in attempted tax fraud involving identity theft. Last year, ODT intercepted an unprecedented number of fraudulent income tax returns seeking to steal refunds totaling more than $250 million. In previous years, attempted tax fraud averaged about $10 million.
To detect and counter refund fraud related to ID theft, an additional up-front filter will now be applied to all tax refund requests to analyze the demographic information reported on a return. This analysis will then assign a “probability of fraud” factor that will determine how the return is then further processed by ODT.
If a return is pulled for review, ODT’s additional security measures will require some taxpayers to successfully complete an Identification Confirmation Quiz, before the return will continue to be processed. If a taxpayer’s return is selected for identity confirmation they will receive a letter from ODT directing them to our website (www.tax.ohio.gov). The website will provide access to the quiz, detailed instructions on how to complete it, and frequently asked questions for reference. Taxpayers without Internet access will be directed to call ODT at 1-855-855-7579, for assistance with completing the quiz. The additional screening and security measures will unfortunately slow the processing of electronic and paper returns, and the issuance of refunds. Electronic returns requesting a refund may take up to 15 days to be direct deposited this year, and paper returns could take up to 30 days for a physical check to be mailed out.
ODT is committed to aggressively fighting ID theft and tax fraud. Thank you for your time and understanding.gtjibI’m in Ohio and so far there is no action here. State refund tracker hasn’t even acknowledged receipt, no updates. Just wondering how other states are comparing?
LizNew Jersey ALWAYS takes time to get a DDD and to even be able to hear information on the automated line. When the state themselves accepts the return, then you will know your DDD roughly about 3 weeks later. I only say that from past year experiences.
Croberts21 days start the day the IRS opened if I’m not mistaken , which would be the 20th
BellaI was accepted early, on the 12th. So if I haven’t gotten a DDD by Feb 2, does that mean I can call the IRS to see what the hold up is? Feb. 2 will be 21 days.
Anonymousme 2 and it’s killing me!
taxseason1Still at one bar since 1/20/2015 when my return has accepted. Does anyone have any idea if WMR has been updated at all?
DionI called the number as well and it said no info available. I can’t remember Kentucky ever being this slow. I usually have my state refund in my account a week after filing.
jgardnerIm still stuck at 1 bar as well. File 1/19 accepted 1/20. last year I filed on a Sunday 2/2 and got my refund on 2/8 on a Saturday. I don’t see that happening this year. Nothing has changed with MA state refunds either. the site for state say it takes 4 days for processing the 800 number says 5-7 but there’s been no action on either except for being accepted.
AmiraPGary did you claim any child care credits? Last year that happened to me I was supposed to get a refund of about 3000 , received that message and called the state , they told me the exact amount and why it was adjusted. I would just call.
January 26, 2015 at 10:20 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094134NopeMCRT88 that “Only been a few days” argument doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Last year, the IRS didn’t officially open for returns until January 31st. Still, they had a TON of DDDs available on February 2nd or so which was a SUNDAY. Now it is 6 full days basically since they opened up and there have been *zero* DDDs given out. That difference cannot be ignored.
SherryStill at one bar. :(
January 26, 2015 at 10:08 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094132ChicoLets not forget the following items that came up prior to this years tax season:
– New Obamacare laws and employer reporting data. (More stuff for the IRS to check your return against)
– They got a really bad review from the IG on how they are combating fraud and collecting taxes / offsets/ past due child support
– They are understaffed due to budget cuts. That means less support staff to help out when MeF hicups, processing errors occur, system connections go down
between IRS computers, etcThey opened up return acceptance earlier than usual, but that does not mean they improved processing times, they may have done this to spread out volume. Remember they are doing their return processing 100% accurately if you get your money in 21 days or under.
I think we are just going to wait it out. As long as I get mine within 21 days, no reason to complain.
