It means its updating…just wait a bit and try again if it happens..if you haven’t been accepted yet it’ll tell you that also. I just checked and worked fine for me:)
RobFeightAccepted by the Internal Revenue Service on the twentieth: still stuck on the first bar for processing. Has anyone been graciously graduated to the elite “Approved” middle section yet?
As far as I’m concerned they can keep a hold on what is rightfully mine as long as they want, but I believe in earning interest. And, I’m lenient on methods of payment.

a.w.I was accepted the 20th too, and still haven’t heard anything other than they are processing returns from 2 weeks ago and it takes 4 days.
SchmidtkidsI filed and was accepted on the 21st, I see many other states have already been accepted and have a DDD. My daughter’s and mine still says they have no record of our state return. Anyone in Iowa filed and have DDD yet?

JustWantMyMoneyAmanda, I received the same email.

RonI know this has been said 100 times but i will say once more… no matter when you were accepted … the processing of returns did not start until 20 Jan.. Any returns that were accepted prior to that date were just test batches that the IRS uses to ensure their delivery and storage systems are working correctly. With that being said, that means the returns have been in the processing chain for 7 days as of today. I would expect to start seeing movement starting overnight tonight or tomorrow night. With the first DD dates being around this coming Friday- Monday.
A. W.I’m in MA and still haven’t heard anything either. The website said they received it, but no processing information.
gtjibI also got this email about the first week of January or so.
JakeingaNo processing was done on any return prior to January 20th this year, even if you went back in time and submitted your return in 1993 and it was accepted in 1996, processing did not begin on returns until 20 January 2015 for Tax Year 2014.
That means all the talk of test batches and early acceptances is pointless. We go through this every year, people file early, weeks before the IRS begins processing returns, they will accept a number of returns early, mostly to ensure that their systems are working correctly, and everything is ready. Once those test batches are accepted nothing happens to them until the IRS opens processing for all tax payers, which once again was 20th January 2015. 21 days from that date is 11 January 2015, they won’t entertain your call as an issue until 12 January 2015, no matter how many times you call, no matter how well you rationalize your notion that because they accepted your return earlier.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but strange things are afoot. I don’t, at least at this point, believe that anything bad is going on, I think the IRS is doing a little political grandstanding by not allowing the WMR site to show current updates, and that everything is still moving like it should. At the end of the day they may well have approved millions of returns and have scheduled millions of DD’s, and just aren’t telling us. If another week passes and we haven’t heard reports of movement on WMR then some concern would be justified, and if the 12th of February comes and goes with no DD’s, then we are dealing with a real problem and will be justified in being upset and worried. Until then we watch the IRS play political games.
@bella it would be 21 days from the opening day. I know they used to do them earlier but in the last couple of years early filers are usually put back into que. They are used for testing purposes. I filed early, If going by the 21 days I should of had my DDD on last week of jan. I didn’t get my return until feb 21 they put it back into que and made it as if I had filed on opening day. Which was the 31st last year. When I called the IRS about it when I noticed I had code 1121 on tax topic. They said that the 21 days was from opening day. The scary part is I had a DDDate for 1/28 The date amount and bars left and my refund was canceled and an notice was issued and then I was put back into que.
Hopefully this practice has changed but it’s a new one. So it seems when ever I file early I have issues. When I file on opening or after tax season is over, I have hardly issues except with myself of waiting…
Hopefully it helps I was certainly stunned last year but I vowed never file early again after that…
JustWantMyMoneyI got this email from ODT:
Dear Ohio Taxpayer:
In order to better protect Ohio taxpayers and prevent tax fraud, the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) is implementing additional safeguards that will inevitably cause some refunds to be delayed this upcoming income tax filing season.
These steps are being taken to further bolster defenses in anticipation of a continuing increase in attempted tax fraud involving identity theft. Last year, ODT intercepted an unprecedented number of fraudulent income tax returns seeking to steal refunds totaling more than $250 million. In previous years, attempted tax fraud averaged about $10 million.
To detect and counter refund fraud related to ID theft, an additional up-front filter will now be applied to all tax refund requests to analyze the demographic information reported on a return. This analysis will then assign a “probability of fraud” factor that will determine how the return is then further processed by ODT.
If a return is pulled for review, ODT’s additional security measures will require some taxpayers to successfully complete an Identification Confirmation Quiz, before the return will continue to be processed. If a taxpayer’s return is selected for identity confirmation they will receive a letter from ODT directing them to our website (www.tax.ohio.gov). The website will provide access to the quiz, detailed instructions on how to complete it, and frequently asked questions for reference. Taxpayers without Internet access will be directed to call ODT at 1-855-855-7579, for assistance with completing the quiz. The additional screening and security measures will unfortunately slow the processing of electronic and paper returns, and the issuance of refunds. Electronic returns requesting a refund may take up to 15 days to be direct deposited this year, and paper returns could take up to 30 days for a physical check to be mailed out.
ODT is committed to aggressively fighting ID theft and tax fraud. Thank you for your time and understanding.gtjibI’m in Ohio and so far there is no action here. State refund tracker hasn’t even acknowledged receipt, no updates. Just wondering how other states are comparing?
LizNew Jersey ALWAYS takes time to get a DDD and to even be able to hear information on the automated line. When the state themselves accepts the return, then you will know your DDD roughly about 3 weeks later. I only say that from past year experiences.
Croberts21 days start the day the IRS opened if I’m not mistaken , which would be the 20th
BellaI was accepted early, on the 12th. So if I haven’t gotten a DDD by Feb 2, does that mean I can call the IRS to see what the hold up is? Feb. 2 will be 21 days.
Anonymousme 2 and it’s killing me!
taxseason1Still at one bar since 1/20/2015 when my return has accepted. Does anyone have any idea if WMR has been updated at all?
DionI called the number as well and it said no info available. I can’t remember Kentucky ever being this slow. I usually have my state refund in my account a week after filing.
jgardnerIm still stuck at 1 bar as well. File 1/19 accepted 1/20. last year I filed on a Sunday 2/2 and got my refund on 2/8 on a Saturday. I don’t see that happening this year. Nothing has changed with MA state refunds either. the site for state say it takes 4 days for processing the 800 number says 5-7 but there’s been no action on either except for being accepted.
AmiraPGary did you claim any child care credits? Last year that happened to me I was supposed to get a refund of about 3000 , received that message and called the state , they told me the exact amount and why it was adjusted. I would just call.
January 26, 2015 at 10:20 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094134NopeMCRT88 that “Only been a few days” argument doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Last year, the IRS didn’t officially open for returns until January 31st. Still, they had a TON of DDDs available on February 2nd or so which was a SUNDAY. Now it is 6 full days basically since they opened up and there have been *zero* DDDs given out. That difference cannot be ignored.
SherryStill at one bar. :(
January 26, 2015 at 10:08 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094132ChicoLets not forget the following items that came up prior to this years tax season:
– New Obamacare laws and employer reporting data. (More stuff for the IRS to check your return against)
– They got a really bad review from the IG on how they are combating fraud and collecting taxes / offsets/ past due child support
– They are understaffed due to budget cuts. That means less support staff to help out when MeF hicups, processing errors occur, system connections go down
between IRS computers, etcThey opened up return acceptance earlier than usual, but that does not mean they improved processing times, they may have done this to spread out volume. Remember they are doing their return processing 100% accurately if you get your money in 21 days or under.
I think we are just going to wait it out. As long as I get mine within 21 days, no reason to complain.
CrobertsI”ve been seeing some people say they received their GA refund this morning. Mine still saying my info doesn’t match
jody bMay have gotten lucky. But be aware it takes 90 days to pull an offset. I was finished paying in Sept (and still making payments). And I BARELY had my default offset pulled in time by the dept of education. They are quick to take your money, but slow to not take it. Also, when you filed here is a red flag – did you have to pay up front to file? If you are forced to pay up front to file, and not have the filing funds taken out of your refund, you def have an offset.
creneeI checked my email this morning and I finally got an email from Tax Slayer saying that my OHIO return has been accepted, but the Ohio WHERE’S MY REFUND site still saying they have no information on us.
hellothereI filed on 1/13 accepted 1/14 by NJ but website says no information found. I’m waiting for three week processing time to pass then I’m going to call.
January 26, 2015 at 9:39 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094126MCRT88Idk if I agree with this.. I think @Tom8 is right, it would be a HUGE mistake to wait that long to process DDD. It would cause a MASSIVE move of money, man power and a ton of other working pieces, all at the same time, and would be a set up for disaster. It has ONLY BEEN 3 BUSINESS DAYS since the IRS officially opened, the first day they typically don’t even process any returns, they just start accepting massive amounts and then the following day they start the processing. Today is only, technically, the 4th business day they have been open.. That said, They will not push an update on WMR with DDDs unless they have a SUBSTANTIAL amount to update, otherwise their phone lines blow up with people asking “Why did they file this day and have a DDD and I don’t?”.. I have also heard that this year had a TON more early filers compared to last year. So, with all of that information at hand, including the face that the IRS did have a substantial budget cut.. I would expect to see some updates tonight/tomorrow morning, if not the following night at the latest. Its going to take an extra day or two compared to last year, but fear not.. It will happen. It always does. Just be patient and keep checking your WMR, SBBT and Bank Acct. WE WILL GET OUR MONEY. I may not be tomorrow, but I expect to have it by the end of this week/ beginning of next week at the latest. For all we know they could push an update tonight/tomorrow and it be in our accounts Thursday/Friday…
amandaI had an offset have been in the consolidation process for almost 3 months
Friday my offset completed and loans were paid in full by lender and default was removed. I didn’t know it was complete. I called Friday night said offset was gone. So I just called doe and they told me even though the loan was consolidated and the default was removed the irs can still take my money. I said where will it go. She said to your loan. I said you are paid in full I make 200.00 a month payments to my loan company. She couldn’t answer me for sure. But my offset is gone and she shows no money has been received from irs. I don’t understand itAnonymousstate. this is a GA forum
mswall06Same here…I called the number and nothing…. Smh..this is crazy
B FJenny.. Yes, it is. The 21st to the 10th is like 20 or so days. That’s basically the entire 21-day window the IRS gives you when you file. Of course it’s a long timeframe, and of course it means nothing. If you got accepted on the 21st and did not have your refund by the 10th, then that is a big problem. So of course you’re going to get it in that timeframe. It means nothing.
Jenny6336@ B F no its not. no offensive but it’s not going to just appear from one to another. We are not the only ones expecting a refund. Millions of American are too. Be patient.
B FUnfortunately we probably won’t be seeing the first DD dates until February.
B FIt means nothing. 21 – 10 is such a long period of time, of course you’re going to get it in that timeframe. I wouldn’t put any stock into it.
January 26, 2015 at 8:43 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4094118B FAnother day with no progress. Starting to look more and more like I am right.
TatianaI filed on the 8th and got accepted on the 12th.. I have the same date also.. But still no update
Jenny6336I don’t have any updates but turbo tax said Jan 21st – Feb 10th
Expected refund delivery… Anybody else got the same dates ? I filed on the 18. Accepted early morning on the 20th Tax topic 152.
AnonymousFiled on 01/09, it was accepted on 01/13, and nada for me either.
Last year from file to bank deposit was 12 days.
ChrisUntil we Start seeing Account and Return Transcripts ready, We want see any DDD!
keriStill down for me..
Jay…or should I say LACK OF UPDATES. Nothing has changed. Still at one bar for me.
jody bIf it was there, and now it’s gone… Your money is gone too. Dept of education took mine last 2 years in a row…all of it. I got on the 9 month rehabilitation plan and this year no offsets. I suggest you do the same.
tiffyYes I agree last year when tt152 showed up I received my deposit in my bank account a few days later around 6am…..so I guess its ok to be hopeful when you see it!! Its coming!! :-)
@Thorok2
Are you talking about your federal or state?
tharok2@lennyfromga
Did you get your refund today as promised? I had the 800 number. Called on the 22nd and Rep said she just released my refund and should receive in 21days (I’ve had to do the same thing last 4 due to ID theft). WMR changed to 30day message. In years past I usually get it 4 days after they release it. I’m not sure if the weekend affects that this year though.Daytona beachI have the same problem accepted on 1/20. Wmr saying wrong info.
moovalynI’m sad I’m under review I guess I can see my refund never
Not that its right but to me makes sense and worked out this way last year.
When you have no topic, you have been accepted but not processed yet. When you see topic 152 you have finished processing and its telling the system you requested a electronic deposit (or one of the other payment options for topic 152) So if you see topic 152 you were accepted and processed. That doesnt mean youll get it in 2 days or 5 days or any amount of time. It just means that you are done and when they process a batch with your return it in, youll be getting a DDD.
So its kind of like an interim update. Your not at the beginning, not at the end but right in the middle.
GaryI filed 1/20/15.. Just checked for my NYS refund and got this…
We processed your return and adjusted the refund amount that you claimed. You will receive correspondence explaining the adjustment.A direct deposit of your refund is scheduled to be issued on (JANUARY 27, 2015). If your refund is not credited to your account within 15 days of this date, check with your bank to find out if it has been received.
Now I’m wondering what happened :(
courtneyllYou do realize its 21 “business days” right? That’s what took so damn long last year, im tired of waiting.
MekaOK mine was received on January 15th and I have one bar it never disappeared this is news to me that the bars ate disappearing. Now I know the start date is the 20th so I wasn’t pressed until I saw my job changed our EIN number and my info is wrong so I called the IRS finally spoke to someone like if my EIN was wrong it should have been rejected she said if the address and name matched that EIN it wouldn’t so I should hear from them if they need info but they should have the correct info right?????
IvegotbillsbillsbillsFiled 1/15, accepted 1/20. Wmr still at 1 bar :(
AnonymousNon for me so sad :(
AnonymousMe either :(
January 26, 2015 at 4:01 am in reply to: Anyone stuck on "Your refund is still being processed" #4094097amandaI filed early and was part of the the test batch. I got my DD on Feb 6th. I always get my W2 electronically. January. 15 so, I file that day or the next to get it done and over with! I was never pushed to the back of any line last year and I was accepted early. As of this year, I’m not checking my DDD until people say they have one or the last day of January. Last year I didn’t even look for a DDD until someone told me theirs was on there. Ever since that one year where it gave you a DDD then it suddenly changed to like 2 weeks later, thats when the whole cycle chart stopped and you had to be accepted And approved to get a DDD, they started the whole 21 days thing. I’m more worried about my state return. And it’s a 1/16 of my federal. Don’t worry, it will come, your not being audited check at the end of the month. I have 2 kids and would like to get a newer car, but I have What I need and my kids do too, so anything else is a bonus! Good luck!
amandaI don’t know… I agree with a Previous poster, you would think in 6 days now someone would have an updated status! No one does! So, they are just sitting around?! I thought the computers did the returns now, unless you are audited?! Not one person in the Us is past 1 bar! So they paused the computers?! No, they are processing them they just aren’t updating the info. They will update mid week to late Friday, I bet! Computers do the returns now, they are set up to do billions of returns. From the post it sounded like people were processing our returns… nah, they just aren’t updating the wmr. Site, only to add people to the accepted status.
amandaMine came up manual review for a second year in a row. Their is either no info of any kind or manual review popping up for Ohio. They just want us to wait 15 days then look again. Personally I think the fraud filter is crap! All they have to do is like the IRS does to authenticate you when you log in as a guest for your transcript… when you put in your ssn. It asks information only you would know… to be honest they asked me questions I didn’t even know about myself! I dont know when my grandma was born! but if your red. Flagged. They will pause your return until going complete the quiz online or by phone?! WTH! They should have made us fill out a quiz with the return! They are blaming slow refunds on the fraud filter, I don’t buy it! They just want to hold on to their $, but it’s not theirs, we paid and they owe us! Federal and Ohio are pulling the same crap this year!
amandaI agree… it definitely should have updated to at least show your return as received. I almost peed my pants again this year when my return came up “manual review” Again this year! Last year I saw it and called, they had no idea Why, no one asked me for more info… a week later there was a DDD. I honestly think the manual review is their way of not giving any info out until the 15 days, then they will post a DDD. I filed on the 20 and was accepted the 20th. The 21 my manual review popped up. No one is being manually reviewed, they would have asked for more info by now. I’m sure red flagged will be audited and asked for more info and to filed out the quiz online or by phone. Which is horse poo, because you had to put your I’d issue date or last years AIG. To authenticate. The 15 day wait is their way to hold on to their $ and make more $! Don’t you think it’s odd that federal and Ohio isn’t releasing any info of any kind on refunds this year? Come on! At least give us the state $ back, I paid my $ on time so pay me mine on time or I’ll send Ohio a bill for interest… Lol!
luislovezmeNO UPDATE FOR ME STILL AT 1 BAR :'( FILED ON 1/20 AND ACCEPTED THATS SAME DAY BUT NO CHANGE AT ALL SO I GUESS I WILL WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND CAUSE LAST YEAR I FILED ON 1/30 AND GOT APPROVED ON 2/6 AND DDD 2/10 SO THAT WAS 11 days so i will wait until the 1/31/15 to see what happens! !!
644KSQNo update for me
IamTHATbeanDown, not done… sorry.
IamTHATbeanWMR is done…here’s hoping!!!
gtjibFingers crossed for 3am! :)
MelissaIf you filed your tax return electronically, it takes about 3 weeks before the tax transcript will be available. If you mailed in a paper copy of your tax return, it takes about 6 weeks. If you did not pay all the taxes you owe, your return and your transcript may not be available until mid-May, or a week after you pay the full amount owed. Got this off their website, hopes this helps answer some questions.
MelissaI agree with Daniel, checking constantly, calling them, etc will not speed anything up. I check the WMR once a day, usually in the morning. I figure there are so many tax payers returns they have to go through, no sense in getting impatient. Each year I have got mine back in 7 to 14 days, but last year did take a bit longer…no big deal though.
danielFox News !! I didnt make it up !! Dont sound good to me and the trend of no ddds and no transcripts seem to confirm this…
Not good !!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/12/19/irs-chief-warns-refund-delays-over-budget-cuts/danielJessica, your right, people need their transcripts for various reasons, but not 50 times a day on the site to see if the 2014 ones are avail. This is what I said in the post, not for persons just checking it once…. If people choose to believe this that’s fine, if they don’t that’s fine too, I got $ I don’t need this refund.. BUT, the info i tried to pass on as a service is in fact ACCURATE !! trying to avoid issues for people but people can do what they want…
DawnTwo years ago I filed with HR Block they messed up on Bus. Rule 500 as well. They had the wrong version and when I told them what the IRS said they told me they updated it and would resend . waited six weeks before i finally got my refund. Nope they never gave me anything back for their mistake. I haven’t used them since and never will again.
jijiIrs doesn’t only refund on Fridays. .. where do you people get your info from? ? Last year I got my refund on a Thursday.
JayNIKITA – that screw up by H&R Block was 2 years ago, and it was Form 8863 – Education Tax Credits. I know because I was a part of it. They deflected blame and still charged full price. Nobody affected by it was compensated in any way.
nikitaAMANDA: I think people are thinking it matters where they filed I believe it was last year (maybe year before) H&R Block didn’t update a specific part of their systems to new regulations which caused every one of the returns filed by them with a specific form (Not sure which one) to be sent to error resolution. There was a huge chunk of people that had to wait longer than normal due to H&R blocks’ mistake
