I filed 1/16 with turbo tax and was accepted the same day, still nothing. I’ve tried the ordering transcripts by mail because I can’t login I forgot my username aND both sets it tells me are not available. I don’t care that ppl are getting the ddd before me bc i am not in dire need of my money, I just would like to know how its possible that this occurs, I filed a simple federal return, nothing complicated, makes no sense that I get my refund a week after someone who filed on the 24th
PhickDivaTopic 201 – The Balance Due Collection Process
If you do not pay your tax in full when you file your tax return, you will receive a bill for the amount you owe. This bill starts the collection process, which continues until your account is satisfied or until the IRS may no longer legally collect the tax; for example, when the time or period for collection has expired.
The first notice you receive will be a letter that explains the balance due and demands payment in full. It will include the amount of the tax, plus any penalties and interest accrued on your unpaid balance from the date the tax was due.
IRS electronic payment options are the best way for you to pay federal taxes. Paying electronically is the most convenient and secure way to make tax payments. You can make electronic payments online, by phone or from a mobile device. Paying electronically is safe, the IRS uses the latest encryption technology and does not store banking information. You determine the payment date and you will receive an immediate confirmation from the IRS. It’s quick, easy, secure and much faster than mailing in a check or money order. Electronic payment options are available on the IRS.gov Payments page. Direct Pay is a secure service you can use to pay your individual tax bill or estimated tax payment directly from your checking or savings account at no cost to you. In just five easy steps you’ll receive instant confirmation that your payment has been submitted.
Direct Pay is the recommended way to pay your individual and estimated tax bill. However, if you decide to pay by mail, enclose a check or money order with a copy of your notice. Make it payable to the United States Treasury and provide your name, address, daytime phone number, SSN, tax period and form number (2014 F1040) on the front of your payment.
If you cannot pay in full, you should send in as much as you can with the notice and explore other payment arrangements. For tax payment options, refer to Topic 202.
The unpaid balance is subject to interest that compounds daily and a monthly late payment penalty. It is in your best interest to pay your tax liability in full as soon as you can to minimize the penalty and interest charges. You may want to investigate and consider other methods of financing full payment of your taxes such as obtaining a cash advance on your credit card or getting a bank loan. Often, the rate and any applicable fees your credit card company or bank charges is lower than the combination of interest and penalties imposed by the Internal Revenue Code.
If you are unable to pay your balance in full immediately, we may be able to offer you a monthly installment agreement. To request an installment agreement, use the Online Payment Agreement Application (OPA) or complete Form 9465 (PDF), Installment Agreement Request, and mail it in with your bill. In some cases, you can establish an installment agreement over the phone.
Direct debit installment agreements offer a lower user fee than other installment agreements and help you to avoid defaulting on your agreement by allowing timely payments automatically. To have the payment directly debited from your bank account, complete lines 13a and 13b of Form 9465. Interest and late payment penalties will continue to accrue while you make installment payments. For additional information on installment payments, refer to Topic 202.
If you cannot full pay under an installment agreement, you may propose an offer in compromise (OIC). An OIC is an agreement between a taxpayer and the IRS that resolves a taxpayer’s tax liability by payment of an agreed upon reduced amount. Before an offer can be considered, all filing and payment requirements must be current. Taxpayers in an open bankruptcy proceeding are not eligible. To confirm eligibility, the Offer in Compromise Pre-Qualifier is available on IRS.gov.
For additional information on OICs, refer to Topic 204.
If you are unable to pay anything because of a current financial hardship, we may temporarily suspend certain collection actions, such as issuing a levy (explained below), until your financial condition improves. However, the IRS may still file a Notice of Federal Tax Lien (explained below) while your account is suspended. Please call the phone number listed on your bill to discuss this option. Interest and late payment penalties will continue to accrue while collection is suspended.
If you are a member of the Armed Forces, you may be able to defer payment. See Publication 3, Armed Forces’ Tax Guide.
It is important to contact us and make arrangements to pay the tax due voluntarily. If you do not contact us, we may take action to collect the taxes including:
1.Filing a Notice of Federal Tax Lien
2.Serving a Notice of Levy, or
3.Offsetting a refund to which you are entitledA federal tax lien is a legal claim to your property, including property that you acquire after the lien arises. The federal tax lien arises automatically when you fail to pay in full the taxes you owe within ten days after we make an assessment of the tax and send the first notice of taxes owed and demand for payment. The government may also file a Notice of Federal Tax Lien in the public records, which publicly notifies your creditors that the IRS has a claim against all your property, including property acquired by you after the filing of the Notice of Federal Tax Lien. The filing of a Notice of Federal Tax Lien may appear on your credit report and may harm your credit rating. Once a lien arises, the IRS generally cannot release the lien until the tax, penalty, interest, and recording fees are paid in full or until the IRS may no longer legally collect the tax.
The IRS will withdraw a Notice of Federal Tax Lien if the Notice was filed while a bankruptcy automatic stay was in effect. The IRS may withdraw a Notice of Federal Tax Lien if the IRS determines:
1.The Notice was filed too soon or not according to IRS procedures;
2.You enter into an installment agreement to satisfy the liability unless the installment agreement provides otherwise;
3.Withdrawal will allow you to pay your taxes more quickly; or
4.Withdrawal is in your best interest, as determined by the National Taxpayer Advocate, and the best interest of the government. The IRS may levy (seize) assets such as wages, bank accounts, Social Security benefits and retirement income. The IRS also may seize your property including your car, boat or real estate to sell the property to satisfy the tax debt. In addition, any future federal tax refunds or state income tax refunds that you are due, may be seized and applied to your federal tax liability. See Topic 203 for refund offsets.
You may call the IRS at 800-829-1040 to discuss any IRS bill. Please have the bill and your records with you when you call.
You have rights and protections throughout the collection process. For more information, refer to Taxpayer Bill Of Rights on IRS.gov, Publication 1 (PDF), Your Rights as a Taxpayer, Publication 594 (PDF), The IRS Collection Process, and Publication 1660 (PDF), Collection Appeal Rights.
For more information about making payments, online payment agreements and offers in compromise, go to IRS.gov/Payments.
Forms and publications are available online at IRS.gov and by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).

AnonymousFrom Nashville, TN just got second bar and states expect refund by the January 30th. I guess it could be before that date like today probably
LimdsayFrom my experience with them last year, sbbt doesnt update until pacific time, so check between 9 am and noon eastern time. I just checked and no updates yet, but wmr is showing approved ddd of 1/30.
mehI agree. Maybe just no update for us yet… fingers crossed.
I saw on the Bart thread last evening that he had replied to a post saying that depending on your location your processing time may vary. I am from Florida and this seems to happen every year no matter when I file. I am not “pissed” as the thread title says, just frustrated that every year its the same thing for Florida filers or so it seems. Its no big deal for me personally (I mean I want it lol) but I know some people really count on their returns each year and I feel for them, I really do.
LaurenIve heard a few people have already received their GA refund. My federal refund has been approved but GA is still processing. I normally get my state first but I only lived in GA for half the year and I didnt file GA last year so Im thinking and hoping that those are the only thing s causing the delay. I have always received my state before my federal.
“Your return has been received and is currently being processed, please allow 30 days to receive your refund. If your refund has not been received in 30 days, please log on to the Georgia Department of Revenue website at http://dor.ga.gov/ complete the Replacement Check Request Form and follow the instructions.”
Since Monday same status.

Good fortunes everyone.
Filed: 01/16
Accepted by Internal Revenue Service: 1/20Well if people are getting DDD in Texas im done trying to find a common denominator among the delays and I’m just accepting that there will be delays…..
NoelleYa the balance of your refund is what you are getting, I don’t know why they put that darn past tax obligation message on there even, just to scare us lol
MattUsed Taxslayer – filed and accepted on 1/20. One bar on WMR. Transcripts unavailable.
RebeccaPanama City Florida. Accepted 1/16. Still no update on wmr and can’t get 2014 transcripts
January 28, 2015 at 8:26 am in reply to: WHAT YOUR CYCLE DATE MEANS & WHEN YOU WILL GET YOUR $!! #4095382@Nikita That isn’t an audit code, it is a hold and it appears many people who have healthcare penalties have them this year. I have a healthcare credit and also the error on the return was not my fault or HRBlocks fault, it was transmitted completely fine. It was when the IRS system or person inputted the numbers into the transcript they missed putting the amount in for September which could cause an error. If this is the case for the 570 then it’s easily fixable and I wouldn’t start jumping to conclusions. However, I think that the healthcare debacle period is why so many people have the 570 and whether its a credit or a penalty, either way it adds a hiccup to the process. If i don’t see an update within a few days then I will start to worry. I will continue to post on here as updates occur though in case it helps someone else in the same boat.
hopeful in AtlantaI am noticing a lot of ppl from the south that can’t order transcripts or haven’t received any updates. Post here if you have updates or if you don’t and your are from the south
deeI received my DDD for the 30th I filed with JH in TX.filed extremely early
RobFeightGot the second bar on the Where’s My Refund official site. Gave a Direct Deposit Date of February the fourth, but already got deposited this morning. UPDATE YOUR MOSTLY USELESS SYSTEM INTERNAL REVENUE SYSTEM!
Good fortunes everyone.
JonathanOn WMR: Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank by January 30, 2015.
If your refund is not credited to your account by February 4, 2015, check with your bank to see if it has been received.I used efile.com, and have netspend. 20150402 with code 846. Can’t wait.

OrdinaryTaxPayer@squeaker: I bet you will have an update on WMR this morning with a DDD of 1/30 :-)
January 28, 2015 at 8:22 am in reply to: ANYBODY IN THE SOUTH WITH DDD OR CAN ORDER TRANSCRIPTS #4095375anewmeI am in the south
AmberI also had a healthcare penalty of like 30$… my refund amount looks the same as what it was before… but it does say:
Your refund has been reduced to pay a past due IRS tax obligation.
The balance of your refund, $X,XXX.00, is scheduled to be sent to your bank by January 30, 2015.So as long as that number is what I want, Im OK? Right?
January 28, 2015 at 8:22 am in reply to: ANYBODY IN THE SOUTH WITH DDD OR CAN ORDER TRANSCRIPTS #4095373anewmeDDD for this Friday 2 bars this morning
deeI don’t think it has anything to do with filing early because I filed on Jan.5…with JH and I have a DDD for the 30th but u may get an update soon I don’t think it will be a long wait
aaronI used Taxslayer… filed on 1/16. accepted 1/20. ordered Transcripts yesterday and this morning woke up to find a DDD of 1/30/15. I would imagine something is holding up your processing such as ID theft or an offset.
NYCteachermomI just got the phone with an extremely pleasant lady. She said as soon as they get it from the IRS they process and post it, take the fees, and send it to your bank. The only thing that could take time is the checkpoints which it has to go through so you should be able to get it the same day but 2 days is the maximum.
Well I guess I can’t say it’s by state anymore… What about taxslayer being the delay??
JayFiled with H&R Block online on 1/14, was accepted 1/20, still stuck on one bar and no transcripts available. Just saw a post on their Facebook page from someone who filed 1/23, was accepted 1/23, who has gotten a second bar now for a DD of 1/30. WTF IRS?! So much for processing in the order received. Flat out LIE LIE LIE.
keriI hope filing injured spouse didn’t delay my state. I didn’t think it would tho!
hopeful in AtlantaI am noticing a lot of ppl from the south that can’t order transcripts & haven’t received a ddd let us know if you have a ddd/transcripts or if you don’t
KendraDHulkamaniac is 100% correct! Nothing else.
They open at 7 pacific time so I’m checking around 10:30 eastern time
NoelleI got that too, I had a $49 penalty for health insurance thing so it said past due tax obligation, look underneath it should say an amount of deposit, it isn’t on the side like usual
NoelleI believe SBBT updates between 10 and noon so for sure check then, I am watching my Daughters also, it should be there today :D
AmberI got my 2nd bar on IRS2GO this morning, but my amount disappeared. My transcript had code 846 yesterday with correct amount. I called offset line and I have no offsets. HELP! It just reads “amount reduced to pay a past due tax obligation”
clara fisherIm in the same boat. Accelted on the 15th and still no progress at all

January 28, 2015 at 8:06 am in reply to: any one received dd with no transcripts or wmr update #4095357AnonymousI imagine we wont know until Friday. In years past many people have reported getting their money while their WMR and transcripts have not updated.
AnonymousI filed mine and my mothers taxes in Texas through turbo tax at 7:00 and 7: 10 on 1/19 accepted 1/20 by noon and sill nothing for me or her as well .. sorry guys maybe today or tomorrow
AnonymousI had insurance all year. No penalty. I also filed for EIC, Child tax credit, and American Opportunity Credit. 1 bar WMR and blank transcripts.
The blank transcripts make me think they started processing mine and maybe it never updated to the site? Hoping that’s the case and I’ll get my money Friday is the only thing that’s going to keep me from getting really pissed off for filing early.
jasaymynameIm in Houston too I filed via turbo tax and accepted on the 20th and still on 1 bar. Hopefully we all get our $ soon.
LynI filed with Taxslayer on the 14th and was accepted the 15th. WMR is showing one bar with Tax topic 152. This is my 2nd year using Taxslayer
