well i hope they are finally updating their system i was accepted on the 13th
DionKeri I’ve been getting the ssl connection message since about 8am, I hope it means they are upgrading.
They do deposits any day of the week. Last year I got mine on a Thursday and my hubby got his on a Tuesday
WaitingsucksFiled with turbo tax on 1/14 received 1/15 and still just one bar on wmr. Anyone gotten a DDD or been accepted yet? Federal refunds only please
IvegotbillsbillsbillsFiled with TT 1/15 accepted 1/20. Same from yesterday only 1 bar on WMR.
Does anyone know what day of the week they deposit? Thurs or fri??
DawnI filed on 1 /21 accepted same day. Anyone else file in AZ??
No information on refund yet.keriEverytime I try to log in to check it takes me to an ssl connection error. Is it down?
gtjibLet’s hope that is a good sign tswan.
iwannashopThis is my first year using TBT but i don’t even know what that is.
SquiggyTahI filed with TaxACT on 1/14 and was accepted by the IRS later on that same day. I filed separately for my boyfriend and myself, and we both had the same result. Pretty basic filings, nothing special or any extra forms to fill out just the minimum. But of course as many have said so far as of right now I’m sitting at one bar. I guess I should be happy they didn’t take that small glimmer of hope away from me.
For the past few years I never got my audit protection certificate until after I received my refund. Today I checked my email and it was there. Anyone get theirs?
BellaMy aunt’s was accepted last night and mine this morning per Turbo Tax email but Indiana website still says processing. I didnt get my state last year until 2/18 and I filed around the third week of January
creneeMy Ohio return was efiled on Jan.22nd. Ohio “where’s my refund” site has no information on my return??????I figured it might be a little slower processing time because of the new security measures and all, but they aren’t even showing received? It would be good to know that it was at least received.
JaktsmomI too had an offset last week. Today I get no offsets found for your ss#. I just filed my taxes yesterday so I know its not because it has been paid. Anyone have any insight on this?
jgardnerI am from MA and my refund was accepted on 1/20 the WMR for MA state taxes still says they have not processed my return. The information number you can call for updates says it takes 5-7 days to process while the website says it 4 days. I don’t know whats going on this year last year i filed on 2/2 and got my refund for both state and federal on 2/8 which was a saturday
Melissa@ Nisha, unless the system update is state specific, WMR is working just fine.
AnonymousFiled tax act late at night on 1/20 accepted at 1148am on 1/20 by the IRS. Confirmation from both WMR and email from tax act. 1 bar and tax topic 152 since Tuesday night 1/20.
EddieI was finally able to log on to see my its transcripts and still nothing. I have a screen shot but sort of pointless. Filed 20th 800am accepted 1200pm (4hours later) and still just 1 bar on WMR. Never had problems of any kind either. Just waiting.
January 25, 2015 at 11:00 am in reply to: Did anyone else file PA state through TT? Mine was accepted this morning #4093989PattyycakessNope nothing yet and no pending deposits either, I’ll post soon as something changes
AnonymousBump anyone ?
CheerbairThis happened to me as well. Filed and accepted on 1/22 but WMR is saying incorrect information. Not sure what to think…
sueFiled on the 12th and still no change. State approved though.
justinOhio has started using some new process to weed out scamers. Unfortunately it hirts us honest people by delaying our returns
CheerbairI filed and was accepted by taxact on 1/22. WMR is saying I’m not even in their system yet. This doesn’t seem right at all. Just keeps telling me to check and renter my info but it’s all correct.
January 25, 2015 at 10:23 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093983TrudyI’ve been reading where people are saying they are missing bars or that they call to order transcripts so that they can estimate when they are going to get their refund. I know everyone is anxious! I went online & downloaded my transcript but only thing that was there were prior years & this years wage, plus since I was accepted on the 14th I have never lost a bar. I figure that yes it would be nice to know when to expect our refunds but reality is when they send them they send them! Of course there’s going to be people saying that there’s delays, or someone they know said this or that, or they talked to a rep and was told this! Best thing to do is don’t believe all that crap!
January 25, 2015 at 9:51 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093982DeannaI agree, I had seen a message from one of the tax preparer companies that the IRS will not update WMR until 1/31 & it seems like that is going to be the truth. I’m not sure why they would accept returns & not complete the process until 11 days after but it’s never the same. Wednesday I called the transcript 800 number & I was able to order 2014 transcripts which typically means a DDD within 2 days. Now the transcript line is down & the online system doesn’t work.
AnonymousHi I am from Nc I tried to start a forum for NC but it wouldnt let me trust me I feel your pain I was on this site an few years ago they show NCarolinians no love ,but I filed on the 16th I got accepted on the 20th im still in the first bar I hope i changes early next week
AnonymousI’m sorry I don’t buy that story every year people put out rumors about the IRS they know someone who works there and they said this etc
we all have to be patient and see for ourselves example if someone comes to us and say I know someone whom works for mcdonald’s and
they said next week they giving out free big macs and then that next week you pull up to the drive and they say its not acurate we all need to just be patient and see for
ourselfJanuary 25, 2015 at 9:36 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093979B FTom maybe it was the 31st last year but who cares? One day off makes no difference. It has not been 5 days since the IRS opened officially for tax returns and nobody has seen any progress. To me that says it all. Unfortunately I have to assume that no progress will be made until February, and that the first refunds won’t be issued until the 6th – Just like last year. Unfortunately last year they had the decency to open for returns later, which made the wait for some people shorter. Now we’re all stuck.
MarkOf course last year was wacked because of the super late IRS start on the 31st
ShawnNot for nothing but the IRS JUST started accepting returns 5 days ago. I, like may others, would love to get money the day after filing but in reality it’s not going to happen. Don’t stress over a process we have no control over
MarkIt looks like we may not see any dd returns before next Sunday if we have no updates today/tonight, it’s amazing I cannot remember a year that the IRS did not send any funds out before Super Bowl Sunday im just thinking to myself Electronic/Television stores are gonna be pissed not being able to move any inventory this week, this is a big week for those stores usually.
gtjibJustsayin …..Same message here. No update. Anyone else in Ohio have any updates?
Corey B.My Indiana return was just accepted this morning.
gtjibSomeone hit the send button already lol
gtjibI hope that is not the case:/ but even if they are taking long times to process, someones must be done already! You would think, you would hope:(
Corey B.I figured if the IRS wanted to prove a point, they would purposefully slow down processing to highlight their whining over budget issues. Hope we r wrong!
smgdhLong as it comes . That’s Feb 10th cut off time . Still good. I think everyone needs t o chill out.
DavidqSo I just talked to a friend who works for the IRS and she said IRS supervisors are telling the staff to purposely take long amounts of time processing returns this year so their funding can be restored. She said returns will be right at the 21 day window from the 20th start date. Shame on the IRS their budget should be cut further in return for more automation.
January 25, 2015 at 8:50 am in reply to: Can anyone order 2014 Account or Return Transcripts #4093968michelleNope it will not even let me log in not sure what that means. It says my info doesn’t match and locks me out. I don’t have any offset. Hopefully just a system issue.
michelleI tried to log in to get transcript info and I can’t remember my log in info when I ask for assistance for my user name is says it will send a email but I never receive it but when I ask for password assistance it will send a 6 digit code to my email. It says my info doesn’t match and locks me out. I can’t log in and I can’t just look at it as a guest and my info does not match. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a log in issue or my taxes are being held? Not sure what to think of this. I filed with TT on the 20th and accepted the 20th and only have one bar like everyone else. I thought perhaps it is too early for it to be a tax issue that more than likely it was more of a log in issue.
January 25, 2015 at 8:45 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093966justinI have always recieved my refund 2-3 days before the wmr even fully updates to refund sent. so i would not worry, and beside they have less people working this year because of cut backs so it could take an extra couple of days.
Tom8This was THE sign last year to know that you are done processing, is anyone able to order? I’m not :-(
michelleHi Kathryn what I learned is when calling the offset and it states the information is unavailable just means that they are updating. If you wait about an hour it should be done and normal. Also if you don’t have any offset the system states that there is no non tax debt found. The wording is different but I think it is still the same concept.
January 25, 2015 at 8:14 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093962Tom8No offense but I think your dead wrong, first off the IRS opened on Friday Jan 31st last year not the first. Second I couldn’t imagine the IRS waiting almost 2 weeks to send out the first DDDs and more than 2 weeks to make the first DDs their phone lines will be on fire and the first batch of DDs would be Massive because of the long build up I just don’t see them doing that. It would be a huge mistake.
January 25, 2015 at 8:02 am in reply to: Why the IRS set us all up for a long wait this year. #4093961B F*on the 25th
my bad folks, typo.
B FSo I went through the IGMR timeline for last year and I noticed something. Last year, the IRS officially opened for tax returns on the 1st of February and DDDs immediately came pouring in on the 2nd. This year, it opened on the 20th of January, and now here we are on the 5th and there doesn’t seem to be any DDDs rolling in at all. I think people are unfortunately in for a lot of disappointment this year and A LOT of waiting. I hope I’m wrong, but the IRS may have set us all up for a long wait, because right now it doesn’t look like they plan on deviating from the schedule they had last year. That means for us a wait from the 20th, when the IRS began officially accepting these returns, all the way to the 2nd of February just for DDDs, and the 6th for actual refund deposits.
mama deeWmr only updates once a day so we only need to check it once a day also the IRS deposits refunds throughout the weekdays not only on friday
Indiana just got accepted finally
January 25, 2015 at 7:15 am in reply to: Did anyone else file PA state through TT? Mine was accepted this morning #4093957Rizza4235@Pattycakess & @Wendy2629 Have you received your state yet?
Jenniferto respond for under review we all were accepted early tax season did not open till 1/20/15 so if they didn’t start accepting till then we can not be under review yet. I was told by IRS not to worry about bars since we filed early and they were still updating there system to keep checking back wmr makes sense how can they review all of us if they didn’t open till 1/20
JenniferFiled with TT and accepted 1/12/15 within day’s not sure which day but my bars are still gone with general message and topic 152 anyone else change as of today? I’m still the same
BigBoiFiled on 1/20/2015 Accepted 1/20/2015 I got a estimated refund date from tax act of 2/10/2015 I went to the wmr site and it’s not telling me anything but wait at least 24 hours and try back later with a Tt code of 152 have anybody else that files with tax act got a refund ddd yet
OMGKalyn, that update stuff for the WMR isn’t for updates !! It says if you read it the WMR isn’t avaliable at that time, meaning it’s under maintenance at those times…WMR updates every day in the middle of the night usually between 3am and 7am….
JenniferQWhen I did my taxes through turbo tax it didn’t ask me for a code or an amount on insurance. It just asked me if I had it and did I have it all year long. I think you’re right that maybe next year it will have totals and such to put in like when you do IRA through an employer.

Here’s a link to the cycle chart the 2nd one is irs manual. I don’t really understand it but thought it might be helpful and maybe someone else could explain it :)
WaitingsucksFiled 1/14 accepted next day still only one bar on wmr site

January 25, 2015 at 3:25 am in reply to: Anyone stuck on "Your refund is still being processed" #4093947AnonymousI am still stuck. I keep researching but finding nothing. I am glad I found this form and I am not alone.
Kristi hIf you had insurance through an employer your w-2 box 12 will have the amount that was taken pretax for your insurance and a code to enter into the prep software. That’s how they know.
amandaMy question is… why are they not giving some sort of credit to people who pay an arm and a leg through their employer and not get on government paid health care?! I pay 500$ a month for health insurance through my employer and I pay Double taxes on What my employer pays for my domestic partner (boyfriend ) I pay for a family. My gross is 12,000 $ less than my net, mostly from health ins. I thought Obama was going to give a credit if you paid a certain percent of your income for health insurance?! It doesn’t pay to work your ass off and pay for things and being an honest person. these health ins premiums are through the roof! But I doing think they will check to see if you have proof of health coverage, unless they mail you something asking for proof. Next year it may show up on your income transcript.
amandaI checked my email and stumbled upon this… looks like we will get our federal before state this year…
Dear Ohio Taxpayer:In order to better protect Ohio taxpayers and prevent tax fraud, the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) is implementing additional safeguards that will inevitably cause some refunds to be delayed this upcoming income tax filing season.
These steps are being taken to further bolster defenses in anticipation of a continuing increase in attempted tax fraud involving identity theft. Last year, ODT intercepted an unprecedented number of fraudulent income tax returns seeking to steal refunds totaling more than $250 million. In previous years, attempted tax fraud averaged about $10 million.
To detect and counter refund fraud related to ID theft, an additional up-front filter will now be applied to all tax refund requests to analyze the demographic information reported on a return. This analysis will then assign a “probability of fraud” factor that will determine how the return is then further processed by ODT.
If a return is pulled for review, ODT’s additional security measures will require some taxpayers to successfully complete an Identification Confirmation Quiz, before the return will continue to be processed. If a taxpayer’s return is selected for identity confirmation they will receive a letter from ODT directing them to our website (www.tax.ohio.gov). The website will provide access to the quiz, detailed instructions on how to complete it, and frequently asked questions for reference. Taxpayers without Internet access will be directed to call ODT at 1-855-855-7579, for assistance with completing the quiz.
The additional screening and security measures will unfortunately slow the processing of electronic and paper returns, and the issuance of refunds. Electronic returns requesting a refund may take up to 15 days to be direct deposited this year, and paper returns could take up to 30 days for a physical check to be mailed out.
ODT is committed to aggressively fighting ID theft and tax fraud. Thank you for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
Joe Testa
Ohio Tax CommissionerPattiHahaha. We’ll be waiting forever with this corrupt ass state.
Kristi hSame message. Accepted 1/20 in evening
Annie HewMine still isn’t showing, and on Tax Act it is listed as “pending”. On the main page for Illinois Revenue, it says they are not accepting tax returns at this time as they are still testing an anti-fraud program. It was on the news last week too.
TiffanieJustsayin I filed and was accepted on the 20th and mine still has that same exact message. I am beginning to wonder if they got my return. I filed with TT.
EllenI filed on the 15th was accepted on the 16th
NishaThey are doing an update until in the morning! So check back to see if anything has change also check out I got my refund Facebook page… Its helpful!
NishaTheir also doing an update in the system until tomorrow!
Katherine C.You locked yourself out.
Jay09Last year opening day was 1/31
ladyofthenightBelieve they opened on 1/31 last year if I am not mistaking…
When did the irs open last year for taxes?
They recently changed the language. It says something like “at the moment no non tax debts were found but new items are added daily”…. So if that’s what you are hearing you should be fine. When individuals call and goes through the pervious statement then it will give an amount. If you were being offset from a tax debt the IRS would notify you usually via us mail.
Hopefully this helps! -
