Wondering if anyone is or has gotten this response on their Oklahoma refund “Your return has been processed; however, your refund has not been approved” It has said this for two days now filed on 01/19 accepted 01/20. Wasn’t sure if this was a normal response that they are give or maybe there’s a problem.
Thanks!
For those of you in Oklahoma that don’t have the link to check your refund online:

my daughter filed April 10 or so. As of today, August 22 she still has not received her refund. As someone else posted, OTC website still says RECEIVED BUT NOT PROCESSED, FOUR MONTHS!!!! FOUR MONTHS!!! and cannot get an answer. I will have her try calling the Tulsa office. She also mailed it in, with everything attached, so it is not an e-file problem.

I finally received my OK State tax refund after 9 weeks. Filed mid-March. Received mid-May. My accountant did mine, so I had no doubts that it was correct. OTC kept saying RECEIVED BUT NOT PROCESSED, then PROCESSED BUT NOT ACCEPTED, and lastly PROCESSESSED AND DEPOSITED. I’ll make sure I owe them from now on because it only takes ONE DAY for them to cash checks, as opposed to refunding our money.

Called three weeks ago. Spoke with Rep who supposedly “approved” it over the phone. Said that I should receive my refund in 10 days. Still haven’t received it. I got my Federal back on March 10th . . . two weeks after filing. But I just knew after speaking with a rep, and she indicating that it would be 10 days . . . that I really was going to get it in 10 days. I need to stop with the lying. If it’s longer, then say so. Geesh!

I am new to OK as of 2014 and therefore filed as partial year resident. My story is similar to others discussed here with a few more details. (1) E-filed on/around 3/11. (2) Within a week received a rejection letter, stating accuracy could not be confirmed. (3) Called and spoke to a live rep, who said there were a lot of problems with e-filings and told me what paper forms to send. (4) Hand delivered to tax commission in OKC on/around 3/18 and was told by rep at window that all looked good. (5) Four weeks later (4/15 – today), no refund or further instructions received to date. Checked status on website and at 405-521-3160, and both said return processed but not approved. Pressed 0 for live rep and recording said call volume was too high / try later. CONCLUSION – based on what I’m reading here, I assume there is a backlog and it will be a few more weeks . . . but if anyone has read these details (thanks, btw) and can offer insight that would suggest differently, please advise.

I got the same letter but I lost it. What is the address where you guys mailed your W-2s to?
-
April 9, 2015 at 4:37 pm #4111220Anonymous
Same thing filed in February received a letter requesting my W2 originals. I sent them overnight the same day I received the letter. I used tracking and confirmed they have received it. It has been over a month now, I cant get a live person on the phone and I have sent numerous emails with no response. I think there is definitely something going on.
-
March 31, 2015 at 4:35 pm #4110915Wes
Same here. They owe me $4,200 and are hanging onto my money for all they’re worth! Got same message, send in W2’s and 1099’s. Sent them weeks ago. Figured they were picking on me for moving out of state. This is ridiculous.

Does anyone have any new updates? I do not know what number to call. My Taxes were filed 02/28/15, received my federal in a week. Says my state has been accepted but not approved. It’s been almost 4 weeks!
-
March 24, 2015 at 2:32 pm #4110690Kathy
I e-filed taxes on 3/09/15. Already got federal back. Still have not received my state. Website states it has not been approved yet. I called and they said it has been approved just waiting to be sent. How long will this take?

-
March 3, 2015 at 1:10 pm #4109528lucy
Ok I finally got through today. If you haven’t yet then keep calling and hit zero till you get through. Mine wasnt even processed yet and she processed it while I was on the phone. I should be getting it in 7-10 days. We will see… Also she said the website is wrong most of the time.
-
February 27, 2015 at 8:59 pm #4109210Cassie
I have had the same problem. I finally got through today and the last I spoke with said she processed it while I was on the phone and should get it in 7 days.
-
February 27, 2015 at 2:42 am #4109112lucy
I filed mine on 2/2/15 and it still says the same. When i call I get the response due to high call volume we cannot accept your call at this time. A friend got through and talked to somebody. They told him if you or your kids have soonercare or owe tickets or child support it will take longer to get back your refund. My kids have soonercare too. Maybe thay is the hold up. :\

I am in the same boat, I’m in Kansas I filed on the 2nd of February and still no State refund. I called a week in a half ago only to find out that my return got pulled and its in another department, so I called the number that was given and had to leave a message, so I called again a few days later and left another message, ridiculous at this point. I found out that my return was pulled for manual review. I spoke to an actual person on Tuesday and she stated that it was finally approve and I should receive it in 3 to 7 business days. We shall see.

February 25, 2015 at 7:54 pm #4108948Mike
Same story here: Filed at brick and mortar HR Block store on Feb 5th . . . Fed dd received on the 11th . . . have not received any letters asking for W2’s from OTC, but still getting the “however, your refund has not been approved” on the OTC site . . . Methinks there is something really fishy going on!
-
February 25, 2015 at 6:40 pm #4108938Josh
Same thing here. We got Federal a week ago! They sent a letter asking for w-2. I used H&R BLOCK online processing. The message I got was processed but not approved.
-
February 25, 2015 at 10:20 am #4108889mdaccolade
UPDATE: You all know that I got the same letter on 2-9-15 to send in my W-2’s and 1099’s and hand delivered them to the OK Tax Commission office an hour later (on the same day). As of today, the website still says processed, however, not approved. I called a few hours ago and was told they still haven’t been input into the system because they are probably still in a box in the mail room with everyone else’s waiting to be processed and to call back in 30-days. I asked for the guy to at least verify that they have them and after 30 minutes of being on hold, he said there were to many boxes in mail room to go through and he couldn’t find them and to just GIVE IT ANOTHER MONTH and then call back. I’m at the end of my rope and am going to the media about this. Between this site and two others that I’ve been monitoring, this is a much bigger issue than originally thought.

February 23, 2015 at 6:42 pm #4108700Rick
Okay. Did mine on FreeTaxUSA and sumitted 3 weeks ago. Originally got the message “return has been recieved but not processed”. 4 days later it changed to “your return has been processed, but your refund has not been approved.” Then got a letter requesting W2. Sent that in last Monday. On Saturday the message read “your return has not been received.” Then today changed back to “….refund has not been approved” and then later in the day went back to “your return has not been received.” ???!!!!! What the heck. I did read an article that stated they were checking for fraud. They’re killing me!

I have an AR and OK, my AR was sent by mail in 3 days from filing, OK still says not processed same as you guys
-
February 23, 2015 at 11:37 am #4108635Tiffany
Filed taxes on Feb 11, 2014. Both Oklahoma & Federal where accepted same day. Just found out today that Federal has been accepted and will be DD on March 3, but OK still says “processing but not approved”. I have never had OK refund take more than 7 days from the time I filed. You would think that the over 11K I paid into OK state tax would be ample. When you are just wanting back , which is a small portion of the lump sum you have already paid them.
I read that they had handed out Corp refunds just a couple weeks ago. And have also seen that they have asked multiple people to send in their W-2’s, even when their taxes are simple. So seems to be a stall tactic on the Oklahoma Tax Commissions part, when they probably are just short on funds and don’t have the monies to pay out for individual refunds.

Mine has been saying the same for three weeks.so I finally got a hold of otc. And they said it was the sales tax portion that still hadn’t been processed so they fixed it and said my refund should be in next week.I would call and talk to them if u can.it may hurry them up.

February 20, 2015 at 9:41 am #4108205Anonymous
I have had the same message for almost a month. I received a letter from OKTC requesting hard copies of W2s….and sent them in immediately. Yesterday I spoke to someone on the phone and was told that my W2s have not been received or scanned into the system and would I send them again! Really??
I sent the whole thing again via overnight FedEx with a signature required , but honestly , I am not holding my breath about getting my refund any time soon :(
Filed: Jan 29. Accepted Jan 30. File via Turbo Tax paid version. Still waiting.
-
February 19, 2015 at 1:03 pm #4108055Anonymous
Did my taxes on Turbo and got accepted for state and federal around 2-1-15. Got Fed refund on 2-6-15 and same message as the rest of you,” processed but not approved” for state. Called and they needed hard copies of W-2’s and 1099’s. Took them, IN PERSON to OK tax commission office 2 weeks ago AT WINDOW #4 and after checking daily since with no response. Got through a few minutes ago to be told the forms are not even logged in and are probably still in a pile in the mail room waiting to be sorted and I should call back again in 30-days. WTF is going on at our Oklahoma Tax Commission office ? I have never been more disappointed. Has anyone posting here, got their refund yet ?
-
February 18, 2015 at 6:28 pm #4107854StillWaiting
Filed and accepted Feb 3. Already got Federal refund. OK state still stays refund processed but not approved. Had a OK credit that I claimed this year, that might be cause of the delay.
-
February 18, 2015 at 5:44 pm #4107847B
Mine was done on February 3rd, and it has yet to be “approved.” However, my sister did hers a week later, and she has already received her refund! What in the world? The refund is barely $200, and I didn’t have any special deductions or credits!
-
February 16, 2015 at 3:48 pm #4107369Lacie
I’ve had the same message since my return was submitted and accepted on 2/2/15 – “Your return has been processed; however, your refund has not been approved.” Has anyone else had the same message for this long, without any progress or change in the message?
-
February 15, 2015 at 11:49 pm #4107268Brittany
On Tuesday Feb 10th the site told me my refund had been processed and approved.. Checked Friday it said “your refund has been reissued”!! What the heck!? Can someone tell me what that even means?

-
February 12, 2015 at 12:34 pm #4106299Anonymous
I filed on Jan 29 , accepted on the 30th. It has been sitting at “Return processed but refund not approved ” ever since. On Monday Feb 9th I received a letter requesting hard copies of all W2s. I sent them off immediately.
Today I got through to a human (yay) and she told me that Oklahoma was one of the 18 states affected by the Turbo Tax fraud issues. I happened to file Turbo Tax this year. For security purposes they are requesting W2 verification on random people, especially Turbo Tax users. That is what is holding up our refund, she told me it may take several more weeks to process once they receive our hard copies. Oh well.
-
February 11, 2015 at 4:48 pm #4105992maria
funny i’m getting my state before federal . checked the state thing it said it was approved on the 10th. to wait 5-7 working day is when its going to be deposited . hope everything is alright with federal . is it a bad sign that state will be here before federal ?
-
February 11, 2015 at 9:03 am #4105865Oklahoma Mommy
I got the same message since I filed 2/6. This morning it has updated to approved and deposit being sent within the next five days.
So dont stress, its just a poorly worded generic message.

Okay, I may glad I found this! I was really worried that something was wrong when I got this message today! It must be the OTC not me

I just called over and over until the “heavy call volume” message didn’t come on. I was actually sent to someone. I couldn’t believe it, lol. They have a toll free number, but IDK what it is.
-
February 10, 2015 at 4:34 pm #4105411Shelley
I filed Jan27th, have been checking ever since got processed but not approved. I got my Fed. in less than a week. What is the number to call and is it toll free. I mean come on it 42.00 , not a large amount.
-
February 10, 2015 at 3:33 pm #4105369Millie
Received the same message. Spoke to OTC and she looked up my SS#. She said it has been processed with the amount approved, and the full refund is just sitting at their bank waiting to be deposited into mine. Apparently as long as it says processed, but refund not approved, that means their bank hasn’t approved the refund amount to be sent to you. Sounds to me like Oklahoma doesn’t have enough funds to disburse very many refunds… Thankfully it has been processed and approved, just their bank can’t clear my check Ha, I like how they make me wait, but if I owed OTC, I couldn’t just tell them tough cookies and to wait it out – they’ll get it when they get it since I don’t have the cash at the moment to clear their check.
……and so we are just waiting. -
February 10, 2015 at 11:11 am #4105200Robert M
My Oklahoma state tax return status is the same as those above. Processed but not yet approved. Last year it took about 2 weeks to get my refund. This year it has already been a month. If they are understaffed, they could try hiring some of the unemployed to help during tax season.
-
February 10, 2015 at 12:27 am #4104958maria
called to find out what does it mean . they said they are still working on it and to call back if not heard from them with in a month
-
February 9, 2015 at 7:48 pm #4104852ChristyE
Same message for me as well. Processed, not approved. Total was $270

Glad to see i’m not the only one with that problem . how long did it take for everyone to get federal back if you got it back
-
February 8, 2015 at 2:29 pm #4104313Bobbie
Mine has said that for two weeks! My dad’s was for less than $250 and he already got his. Sounds like they just don’t wanna pay =/
-
February 7, 2015 at 2:42 am #4103744kris
My husband and I filed on the 20th. It has said received since the night of the 20th. As of today it still says however is has not been approved. It will be 3 weeks this next Tuesday since we filed and no change. We’ve already received our federal return. Just don’t understand why state hasn’t been approved or even had a status change. Every time I call the number it says can’t accept calls right now due to high call volume. Please try again later.
-

Mac, the number is 405-521-3160.
-
February 6, 2015 at 12:14 am #4102788Jet
So checked again today and this was the message I received on the website: Your return has been processed; however, your refund was approved for a different amount or has not been approved.
So I will call tomorrow and see what the “different amount” is that it’s referring to. As long as I get the deposit not to worried about the amount of the refund as I am receiving federal which is significantly higher. Oklahoma definitely has issues, when I first moved here from Texas it took almost 7 months to get my state refund from Oklahoma! Last year I moved, so I can only imagine that this is the issue with Oklahoma, heaven forbid you move and they can’t verify your address or something!
Update coming once I call or receive the deposit.

What is the number you call to check it
-
February 5, 2015 at 1:37 pm #4102510Grogg
Last year I checked my bank account and seen it had been deposited. I checked online and by phone and STILL got the not approved yet message!!!
-
February 5, 2015 at 10:27 am #4102344Jim
I received the same message when checking online. I just filed on 2/1 but I was concerned as I had never seen this message before. I spoke with someone this morning who told me it would be 5-10 days before I received the money but there was not a problem and they are waiting on funds before it is released.
-
February 5, 2015 at 12:36 am #4102088Jet
Same here, funny thing is that I have my Federal scheduled to deposit on Friday, Feb 6th! This was after being told the IRS is behind on processing refunds. I’m guessing they are even further behind with state. I haven’t had this issue before, so hopefully it will come within the next week or so. Filed on January 29th, Fed to deposit Feb 6th. State site says the same thing as everyone else “Your return has been processed; however, your refund has not been approved.”….Will definitely post an update when I receive it.
-
February 4, 2015 at 5:39 pm #4101893Chris
I am having the same issues. Has anyone found out if it is just a delay, or if you need to submit more information?
-
January 31, 2015 at 1:38 am #4098291melissa white
I had the same thing…. this morning checked it. It said my refund has been processed and approved wait 5 days…. blah blah. This evening I checked it and said it has been processed but not approved or may be for a different amount what is this about?
-

January 29, 2015 at 12:16 pm #4096685Sara
E-Filed Mon. 26th accepted Tue. 8am 27th checked Wed.nothing…. then Thurs. 5am got this message: “Your return has been processed; however, your refund has not been approved.” waiting to see what the next few days say!
-
January 28, 2015 at 11:01 am #4095613Cwd
It says this every year for me and I always get my refund. It just means it hasn’t been approved “yet”.
-
January 27, 2015 at 3:06 am #4094404Cara
Mine said that for like 4 days straight and within the last hour changed to ‘Your return has been processed. For direct deposit refunds, please allow 5 working days for the deposit to be made to your bank account. For debit card refunds, please allow 5 to 7 working days for delivery. Your refund was approved on January 26, 2015.’ Now I just need that federal DDD!!
-
January 26, 2015 at 11:55 pm #4094372Kris
Same message here. Processed but not approved…. Filed 1/22, accepted 1/23. Got message today online(today is the first time I checked) . Also, called automated and got same message. I am somewhat relieved I am not alone…..but I’ve never had this message or any problem .
-
January 26, 2015 at 11:21 pm #4094366Dee Dee Dee
I’m assuming between tomorrow and Friday we should get a DD since she said between 3-5 BUSINESS days. So its best to call for your refund status because the website isn’t being updated since I was told I was approved and the website says differently. Hope this helps a bit for you all!
-
January 26, 2015 at 11:11 pm #4094364Dee Dee Dee
I have the same message when checking my OK state refund so I called and spoke with a representative and she said my refund has been approved and to wait 3-5 days for my deposit. The OkTAP website is still giving me the same message as you all though. I filed on Jan. 21st
-
January 26, 2015 at 11:09 pm #4094363Val
My said the same thing since the 21st . I finally called on Friday and they said I had to submit w-2’s, 1099’s and a federal transcript. They also told me they sent a letter that day and I still haven’t recieved it. They did not give me a reason, even when I asked!! Any news for anyone else?
