if you look down by the tax return filed at the bottom it says date 2-16-2015. which someone correct me if i am wrong is 21 days from the day you filed . i looked at my last 2 years transcripts and this added up

My cycle date shows 20150402 but I also have a code of 896 Refund Applied to Non IRS Debt ( which I’m sure is for not having health insurance) and a code 570. What do they mean?

I have netspend and always get my money a day or 2 early. People with NO fees had theirs yesterday so that means IRS sent funds to SBBT yesterday and they should release today/tomorrow.

It is not the bank that holds your funds either – it is actually the federal reserve (the fiscal agent of the US Treasury) who is making all the interest off of the money and holding it. The IRS doesn’t send the money directly to the banks. All wired funds in the U.S has to go through the federal reserve Automated Clearing House (ACH) and they are the ones to verify the deposit and distribute to the correct banks. By federal law, once a bank receives the wired funds, they must make it become available by the following business day because only the FEDERAL RESERVE can make money off you for doing absolutely nothing …. HAHA – what the tellers are seeing is notification from the Federal Reserve stating when the money will wire.

I’m beginning to get very frustrated. I filed my taxes with H&R Block e-file on the night of 01/19/2015. My taxes were accepted the morning on 01/21/2015. It has been 7 days since my return was accepted and I am still at square one. I can login on the IRS website to attempt to download my transcripts, but they’re all N/A with the exception of 1 (Wage Transcript) that is blank aside from my name, SSN, etc.

So, accepted on 01/21. No Transcripts available. No DDD. No penalties. Nothing.

Someone posted something regarding the ability to make an educated guess when you’re going to get a DDD with batch codes. The last two years of my batch codes end with an ’03’ which would indicate a Tuesday. My batch code from three years ago ends with an ’05’ which would indicated a Thursday. Not sure what to think. I’m guessing there is really no rhyme or reason as to who get their refund when (or when they get processed). Would sure like to see a DDD.

Anyone else in the same boat? What are you thoughts?

@MCRT88: I hear you – sometimes you can get the right answer with the wrong logic – it happens :) At least it got me thinking. I only bothered looking into this myself to confirm your claims, out of intellectual curiosity, so you at least inspired me to self-educate on the matter :)

Someone should post a new thread combining @MCRT88’s research and ours.

Next year, assuming too much doesn’t change, it would just be a matter of confirming that the cycle date day codes haven’t changed (i.e. that 01 still equals Friday, 02 = Monday, …, 05 = Thursday) and then copying the OP from this year to a new thread next year.

I mean, at this point I think we’ve sufficiently deduced how to interpret the information to 100% accuracy…as long as you have an 846 approved return.

Of course, there are still other mysteries, but I think the “dead cycles” that I saw described on one of the IRS guide’s other pages sufficiently explains why we didn’t see any movement until this week.

It’s all there in the IRS gobbledegook, just takes a while to understand what they are talking about.

My codes in the past few years have never ended in 05, so I don’t think that explains it completely. I am just pissed that there is no progress. I have a blank account transcript since yesterday morning and there has seemingly been NO progress whatsoever since then. It just pisses me off. Why can’t they just process my damn return?

the same thing happened to me I sent it in on the 20th and just today I got the under review message. so I sent out a email to them and heres what I got.

@CinCin I have been able to view my transcripts for two days now, but from everything I read because I do not have the 846TC then my refund has not been approved yet. I know in the past when I could order transcripts then my refund was always shortly behind, but I always had the 846TC as well.

That makes sense. I filled on January 26th and was accepted an hour or so later. The latest filing date that I have seen that has gotten a DDD was the 24th, so fingers crossed that we are in the batch that processes tonight/tomorrow morning!

I know that Wells Fargo, BOA, US Bank, Chase… etc… they all can see a deposit from the IRS to our accounts and they hold them. I’ve had it happen the last 3 years. I think its a crime they are making interest off of it while it’s in a “warehouse” account. What a joke. The big banks will do whatever they can to make a penny off of you.

Offset line says you do or do not have a Non Tax offset (student loans, child support etc) to see if you have a debt owed to the irs you need to call the irs and go through prompts for account info.

@luvluv your coworker may have codes 896 & 570 (healthcare penalty), people like that (including myself) are able to see transcripts but have no DDD. To check she should look at her account transcript.

I have the same cycle code 20150402. Refund was accepted the same date I filed 1-23-15 but I still only have 1 bar on wmr. I filed with tax act, & did have to pay penalties for no health insurance. I have no clue if I have any codes this is first year I downloaded transcript and have no clue where to look for any codes.

Congratulations to everyone that received their DD! I have a question, when I go to view my transcripts, everything says n/a except for wages and account. When I click on account, it’s blank and says refund not filed. Does anyone know what that means? I’m stressing out super bad about it!

@pearly I’m pretty sure if your able to view/order 2014 transcripts then your refund is coming. The majority on this post CANT VIEW/print/order ANY 2014 Account transcripts.
So are you saying earlier today you could not and now you can?
Just clarify please as most of us are 20th accepted and not able to do crap for transcripts.

Found this….if this is the same thing we’re all talking about, it supports how the 02 is Monday. Then +4 being Friday. To explain how a 20150402 cycle date results in a 1/30/15 DDD. Not sure if “IMF Cycle Date” is the same as what’s on the transcripts – I’m seriously speculating here. but the format works to explain what’s being discussed in this thread. just wanted to share what I saw

3.30.123 Processing Timeliness: Cycles, Criteria and Critical Dates

IMF Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:

A.01 = Friday

B.02 = Monday

C.03 = Tuesday

D.04 = Wednesday

E.05 = Thursday

Do offsets delay your return? I filed Jan 8th, approved Jan 12th… Still only one bar, no transcripts. I didn’t get any notification that I would have an offset from DOE. So I’m assuming I don’t have any offsets since they are supposed to give 30 days warning prior to attempting to forcefully collect. Do you have any idea why it’s taking so long? I filed using the 1040 form.. i have one dependent.

This is what happen to me personally last year.
My DDD from IRS was 2/10/2014, SBBT rec’d the funds on 02/07/14 at 9:30 a.m. eastern time zone,
I got an alert from my bank on 02/08/2014 at 2:00 a.m.

I am with a different bank this year BOA and I am hoping that it be the same this year.
filed 01/21/15, accepted 01/21/15, able to view transcript on 01/27/15, approved 01/28/15 for a DDD of 01/30/2015.

Bart do you know anything about nys taxes? I was accepted by nys on the 23rd. Up until early this morning around 6am est their site said almost finished processing and most returns well be sent within 2 weeks sometimes 4 or something like that till a few hours ago now it says”We are almost finished processing your return. Once your refund is approved, the issue date will be available.” not sure what to make of that

I believe I remember a discussion last year that stated updates are done 3 days a week. What days those are I couldn’t tell you but would LOVE to know. I think if we were knowledgeable about the specific days, it would cut down a lot of flooding the system with inquiries. What do you guys think? And, if anyone out there knows the days they updated, please DO TELL. :)

I filed with TT on the 15th accepted by the IRS on the 16th and I can’t get my transcripts and only 1 bar on WMR. I looked back at when I got my last two years deposits and in 2013 it was a Wednesday but only 6 days after I was accepted and last year again a Wednesday however it was 12 days after I was accepted….I thought I was like what the others were talking about in the cycle thing and I can’t look at my transcripts to verify the 05 thing but isn’t it odd that in 2013 I got a DD in 6 days but last year it took 12 days. Both DD’s were on Wednesdays….this is all driving me crazy!!

@ready2spend I filed through TT with no fees coming out. If you didn’t have any fees or paid for filing costs prior to e-filing with a card, you will not find your info on SBBT. The money only goes to them if fees are to be taken out prior to being deposited to your bank. This is what is listed in their FAQ:

Please make sure you are entering the Social Security Number (SSN) without dashes (if you filed a joint return, enter the Primary SSN), the correct refund amount – before deductions – and your filing status.
