I just called to check on my return with the IRS, now this is only my second call. I was told it would be 60 days from today, i asked her why today? I called last week n no one said anything about a review. She told me it is 60 days from today because i called. And every time i call the 60 days starts over! What kind of s**t is that? Now they are having fun at our expense. This is bull. I filed my return 2/28 was accepted 2/29.Singlemom Says:

Here is a starter straight from the feed!

I just got off the phone with a rep from the IRS. He was very helpful. He told me to call back and ask for a referral letter. This letter is sent to the person that is actually processing your return. The person that is processing your return has 30 days to reply to you directly as to what is going on with your return. I hope this helps.AnonymousMy family and I are taking a trip to New Jersey, my husbands father recently had a stroke. The rest of the money will go to investing in our up and coming electronic repair business.
Anonymousam self employed )operating without a business license) and I allow 2 of my friends to live in my house with 1 child each. they have lived with me all year and niether parent is filing taxes this year. I don’t charge either of them any money for rent, utilities or food etc. as they are both very close friends of mine. Now with that said, since the 2 children are under my roof I claimed them for the earned income credit. I have just received a letter from the irs requesting information to be submitted before I will receive my refund.
information requested are as follows:
1. EARNED INCOME CREDIT – FORM 886-H-EIC
2. DEPENDENTS – FORM 886-H-DEP
3. FILING STATUS – FORM 886-H-HOH
4. SCHEDULE C – FORM 11652My question is… is this standard operating procedure for the irs review process? Do they normally ask for all this information to be submitted?
I don’t even know where to start. I have receipts for payments from the entire year proving my income totalling just over 13K. the parents of the children will cooperate and write any letter I need. the problem is that I support these children by providing a roof for them, but I don’t have guardian rights nor do I want them. I am just helping out my friends.
with the information I have provided do I need to be worried I will get in trouble for claiming my income which is, up til now, totally unreported and under the table in prior years.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Second contact is for IRS – FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES 1-800-304-3107
This number was given to me by the tax produvcts group because the IRS short changed my refund almost $900.00 in error.we used to see mass updates on Wednesday and Sunday nights, but other updates still occurred on other days of the week except Sunday. the last 2 weeks though haven’t shown mass updates though. keep checking.
AnonymousWhen does wmr actually update or does it update daily?
Good point…we haven’t had a chance to add those, thanks for asking.
Ghost is what people have come up with when describing that the WMR cannot find information about their return.
One liner was coined referring to the message “your return has been received and is being processed.”
AnonymousWhat’s a ghost mean? Does this mean WMR is not working?
What’s a ‘one liner?’
AmandaL@tryingtobepatient, You know I did file a college credit. I’m not sure if that’s what the hold up is. I just wish that we could get it, The one letter I first got (which a rep told me to pay attention to that letter) My 60th day of waiting regarding that letter would be April 14th, On my transcripts it says my money will be realized on April 15th. I’m not sure if those two dates play a roll in it. Who knows. We’ll see.

AnonymousFiled 1/17 many by dates and then one liner for past few weeks. Today I went ghost. This has never happened to me. I don’t know what to think now.
Below is a pattern we have seen regarding what days people receive deposits:

@All, I just reviewed all the recent comments here. (You will be able to search soon too). There have been “I GOT MY REFUND!!” reports on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This confirms the information I personally was told by a Bank of America rep: “The IRS sends deposit notices on M-F and the deposit will post and become available according to the respective bank or prepaid card posting policies.
The only bank I have heard of posting on a Saturday has been Wells Fargo; this was confirmed by one of our former moderators and detailed information regarding Wells Fargo posting schedule has been provided in the Forum.
Also, their have been a few reports of Walmart’s Greendot prepaid product posting on a Saturday. BOA also told me that deposits are never posted on Saturdays or Sundays for their customers.
If anyone has experience otherwise, please let us know and post it in the forum for other who are searching. For those that have heard only Wednesday and Friday, this I believe, was the IRS’s former policy we have each experienced in past years. According to a report I read on irs.gov summarizing the readiness for implementing the new system, this was a feature that would improve processing times this year.
I believe this info dictactes that is safe to say that you can receive a deposit on any day of the week except Sunday.

neverendingwaitAccepted 3/6. I have had two dates 3/20, 3/27. Around the 16th it switched to the one liner. Haven’t bothered to call the IRS, not willing to wait on hold for hours to find out nothing.
dazedandconfusedI got the one-liner. From the person I talked to, the WMR site is invalid for people who have their returns held for review. BTW, I got the college credit, and this is my first time filing single, as I was previously married so I filed joint everytime. I think that’s why I got flagged. Damn you, IRS!
F/A-Jan23rdI have the one liner now for the second time. Filed on 1/23 had the “should receive by 2/7 that came and went and it changed to the one liner for almost a month then changed to “should receive by April 3rd” a week later it changed to “should receive by March 27th” March 28th it changed back to the one liner and is still there. I know my return is in the errors department, has been since 1/26, but I’ve been told they were able to fix it themselves…if that’s the case then why the hell is it still in the errors department..I have no idea what the error is.
AnonymousAmanda…did you take the college credit? I also had 2 dates and now a 1 liner. Filed mine in Jan.
AmandaLI want to see how many of us are actually out there with the scary “One Liner”. The one liner is when your Where’s My Refund states “Your tax return has been received and is being processed”, Now I personally have only gotten 2 dates since I’ve filed and I’ve been stuck on this one for the past 2 weeeks or so. I had a date of 02/07 for the LONGEST time, then finally it updated, to this one liner, then it updated to 03/20. And now I’m back here.
What has everyone elses experience been? Has anyone called and asked what it actually means?
AnonymousBecause of my particular circumstances, it was advantageous a few years ago for me to examine my withholdings from each paycheck. After tax deductions and credits each year, I typically have a very low tax liability that results in a sizable refund. By adjusting my W-4 on file with employer to better reflect what I expect to file at the end of year, I was able to reduce the federal taxes withheld from each paycheck (more $ throughout the year) and still receive my sizable refund at the end of year. This made a huge difference or me! Look into this and see if it’s appropriate for you situation, but just keep in mind if your income bracket or tax deductions changes throughout the year for whatever reason, you need to reexamine things so that you don’t end up owing. budget budget pla plan plan…. ;). Than you big sister (she worked in my payroll office) for teaching me this 10 years ago!

If you are an employee, the Withholding Calculator can help you determine whether you need to give your employer a new Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate to avoid having too much or too little Federal income tax withheld from your pay. You can use your results from the calculator to help fill out the form.Who Can Benefit From The Withholding Calculator?
Employees who would like to change their withholding to reduce their tax refund or their balance due;
Employees whose situations are only approximated by the worksheets on the paper W-4 (e.g., anyone with concurrent jobs, or couples in which both are employed; those entitled to file as Head of Household; and those with several children eligible for the Child Tax Credit);
Employees with non-wage income in excess of their adjustments and deductions, who would prefer to have tax on that income withheld from their paychecks rather than make periodic separate payments through the estimated tax procedures.

AnonymousInjured or Innocent Spouse Tax Relief
IRS Tax Tip 2012-60, March 28, 2012You may be an injured spouse if you file a joint tax return and all or part of your portion of a refund was, or is expected to be, applied to your spouse’s legally enforceable past due financial obligations.
Here are seven facts about claiming injured spouse relief:
1. To be considered an injured spouse; you must have paid federal income tax or claimed a refundable tax credit, such as the Earned Income Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit on the joint return, and not be legally obligated to pay the past-due debt.
2. Special rules apply in community property states. For more information about the factors used to determine whether you are subject to community property laws, see IRS Publication 555, Community Property.
3. If you filed a joint return and you’re not responsible for the debt, but you are entitled to a portion of the refund, you may request your portion of the refund by filing Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation.
4. You may file form 8379 along with your original tax return or your may file it by itself after you receive an IRS notice about the offset.
5. You can file Form 8379 electronically. If you file a paper tax return you can include Form 8379 with your return, write “INJURED SPOUSE” at the top left of the Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ. IRS will process your allocation request before an offset occurs.
6. If you are filing Form 8379 by itself, it must show both spouses’ Social Security numbers in the same order as they appeared on your income tax return. You, the “injured” spouse, must sign the form.
7. Do not use Form 8379 if you are claiming innocent spouse relief. Instead, file Form 8857, Request for Innocent Spouse Relief. This relief from a joint liability applies only in certain limited circumstances. However, in 2011 the IRS eliminated the two-year time limit that applies to certain relief requests. IRS Publication 971, Innocent Spouse Relief, explains who may qualify, and how to request this relief.

WMRsucksWhat exactly is the 6 week message?
CathyFiled on 3/16. Accepted on 3/17 with a dd of 4/10. DD of 4/10 changed to 4/3 with now explanation. That seemed like good news? Then checked WMR again and got the “6 week message” with no explanation. After much reading I am still confused. Some say it means the money is released and on its way. Others say it means the return has been “pulled” for review or that there is some other sort of trouble.
Does anyone know the truth? Or have a similar story? Misery loves company! Would love to hear similar stories and their outcomes. And most importantly what opinions are based on regarding the 6 week message.
Thanks and good luck to all!AnonymousEadoin2 said:

From what I have researched it says the code means someone tried to login using the secondary taxpayers SS #. This can not be correct as I filed HOH only claiming my 2 small children. There is no secondary tax payer.
I’m starting to worry.

Anyone else use WoodForest bank? When I opened my account a few months ago I was told that they do not hold direct deposited checks. I specifically asked about my tax return and they said as long as its direct deposited it will not be held, as soon as it is sent to the bank they release it to the customer. However, I have noticed a guideline on transactions stating that if they are done before 8 pm they are posted to the account but after 8pm they get posted the next day. Not sure if this info will help anyone but I figured I’d pass it along. If anyone has any other information about this bank please post. Thanks!Jorrie said:

If there is in fact a pattern at all it seems highly unlikely that it’s based solely on acceptance date alone. A pattern to what? IRS had trouble with their system on everyone that filed between the 17 and 19th i believe. Think they lost everything and had to start over which is why the wmr says still processing and why they are late. Some people have gotten their refunds, but i think that is only about 30 percent or so. The rest of us are still waiting and waiting and waiting…..cybernimf said:

These issues and delays are issues are related directly to a new fraud detection and prevention filtration system holding more refunds than anticipated and more returns are being impacted then originally projected by IRS.
The IRS has worked to correct this error and so they now believe refund timing ,for all refunds, including ARs will be on the following schedule:
* Select returns were impacted on the very first day of processing on 1/17/2012.
* Refunds from that first day which were expected on 1/23/2012 may not have funded yet.
*Updated information indicates affected returns filed on:
* 1/17/2012 are expected to fund on 1/30/2012.
* 1/18/2012 are anticipated to fund on 1/30/2012.
* 1/19/2012 are anticipated to fund on 2/1/2012.
* 1/20/2012 are anticipated to fund on 1/2/2012.

The pattern before was always something like it would show by a Tuesday, then change to DD on the Friday before, and the money would show up Thursday night.Filed 1/22/12. Accepted 1/22/12, TaxAct Basic, Chart shows 2/1/12. WMR shows by 2/7/12
Republic Bank site shows 2/8/12.I understand the part about the 26th or before being delayed, but people filing after me but before the 26th are getting DD before I.
UPDATE: WMR finally also shows DD date of 2/8/12.

My brother actually did this a few hours ago. He just went to a “title loan” place and talked them into giving him a loan so he can buy his new TV today instead of waiting for next week. They gave him a $2400 loan and he has to give him the whole $3300 refund by next Friday! Any later and he owes an extra 75$ per week. I thought he was joking at first but he actually did. Unbelievable. I could see doing that for bills or rent or something, but a TV? I shouldn’t have admitted he was my brother, lol.
Now if you’re in a situation where your car is about to be repoed or your rent is going to be a month late or some other emergency, this might be a last ditch option for you (or maybe you’re just miserably impatient like my idiot brother.) They were hesitant at first until he proved how much he was getting by logging into the WMR on their computer and showing them his SS card. He said the guy thought about it for about 10 seconds and made him the offer. Who knows, maybe you’ll something better than the $900 interest my brother paid, but it might be an option if you’re desparate.
EDIT: almost forgot. He did not have to leave the title to his car.Crystal85 said:

Those title/payday loan places are dangerous. Interest way too high. That’s more than if you had gone into block and got a ral.

Hi everyone, I checked before I posted this and did not see any discussion for people who are getting or have gotten a letter stating a review is being conducted on their tax return. Has anyone received this letter and does it take a long time to get everyting in that is needed and have the IRS review it so you can get a refund? This is the first time this has happened to me so I don’t know what to expect. I still haven’t received the letter.
I had a dd date set for 2/7 and was accepted on 1/18 now there is no dd date for my refund.ldd said:

I actually got this letter on Feb. 14th. They said they didn’t need any information from us or anything but basically he was being reviewed because they want to review it for the income we reported on the return.I’m guessing because he didn’t file last year (He didn’t have a job or unemployment or anything) is why it’s being reviewed.
We filed onm 01/18/12 and got accepted on 01/19/12 and now are being told to wait 60 day for our refund.

I efiled on 01/31. WMR stated no info found until Wednesday 02/08. Then I got my date of 02/21. I think if you wait a week after you file (or the IRS updates on Wed) then it’ll post.

A lot of us have been mistreated when we call about our refund, I found this and thought it might be helpful. Here is an excerpt:13.1.15.2 (01-06-2009)
Elements of MisconductThe Taxpayer Bill of Rights II (TBOR 2) defines three elements of misconduct:
An employee violated a law, regulation, or rule of conduct (these cases are worked and reported by Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA);
An IRS system failed to function properly or within proper time frames (these cases are worked as Taxpayer Advocate Service cases); or
An IRS employee treated a taxpayer inappropriately in the course of official business. For example, rudeness, over zealousness, excessive aggressiveness, discriminatory treatment, and intimidation. (These cases will be worked/handled by management within the employee’s function.)
Here’s the link with more details:

Below is a chat transcript I had with TurboTax customer support over the web, The will refund your fees, just remember to focus on their bad customer service in not alerting to of the IRS issues by email as opposed to the time it took you to get your refund. Also, she told me it would take 7-10 days to recieve my credit for my fee, which came 2 days later, good luck all. Please wait while we find an agent to assist you…
You have been connected to 05_Julie B.
05_Julie B: Thank you for contacting Intuit TurboTax, My name is Julie. To give you the most exceptional support regarding your contact reason today, may I please take a brief minute or two to pull up your information and review your question?Joshua Long: sure
05_Julie B: Hi Joshua. How are you doing today? :)
Joshua Long: not too bad, yourself?
Joshua Long: ok either I lost you already or there is serious lag time here
05_Julie B: That’s very nice to know. I’m good, thanks for asking.
05_Julie B: I understand that you want to request for a refund, am I right Joshua?
Joshua Long: correct.
05_Julie B: I see. I do apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Don’t worry you’ve reached the right department and I’ll be more than willing to assist you with this concern.
05_Julie B: If I may ask, why are you requesting for a refund Joshua?
Joshua Long: I see I am going to have to type this all over again, I am very dissatified this TTAx customer service, I realize the you folks are at the mercy of the IRS, but yuo could have done a FAR better job, in conveying problems at the time of purchase and ongoing problems (i.e. email me, not just put a note on yourwebsite, i had no reason to visit it everyday)
Joshua Long: Also when I called and spoke to a “live” rep he seemed to be a very ill knowledged young man “googling” articles about what i was looking for asking me to wait while i listened to him read them, that was ridiculous
05_Julie B: I see. I’m apologize for all the ionconveniences Joshua.
05_Julie B: Don’t worry I will definitely help you on this.]
05_Julie B: Before I can process the refund, can you please verify me your order number for the transaction you are requesting for a refund?
Joshua Long: great
Joshua Long: one moment please i’ll get it
05_Julie B: Thank you Joshua. Please verify me your order number.
Joshua Long: TTWGS6A########
05_Julie B: Thank you Joshua.
05_Julie B: Please give me a minute or two to pull up your order.
Joshua Long: TTWGS6A########
Joshua Long: oops sorry didn’t mean to send it twice05_Julie B: It’s okay Joshua. I already pulled up your order. Give me just a minute or two to process the refund for you. Please bear with me because I will be providing you the Refund Confirmation number later.
Joshua Long: ok
05_Julie B: Thank you for patiently waiting Joshua. :)
Joshua Long: not a problem
05_Julie B: I have now processed the total refund of $66.90. Your refund confirmation number is RMA# SPOTRS0000####### . Please be advised that we have to wait for 7-10 business days for the money to be credited back in your account.
Joshua Long: ok
05_Julie B: I believe I was able to resolve your concern today Joshua. Apart from this, is there anything else I may assist you today?
Joshua Long: no that’s all thank you

Check this out. I found this in another post. TT hasn’t contacted me about returning my fee…anyone else?Turbo Tax E-filers Refund Delay
12Taxpayers who filed their tax returns electronically using Turbo Tax by Intuit may experience a delay in getting their refunds due to a ‘processing error’ by Turbo Tax. The Turbo Tax spokesperson, Julie Miller issued a statement:
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused these customers. We made a mistake and are doing everything we can to make it right. We are communicating directly with customers affected and of course, we’ve waived all TurboTax fees.”
This error affects possibly thousands of taxpayers who opted to receive their refunds via direct deposit. If you are one of the affected taxpayers, you will be receiving your tax refund by paper check instead. Furthermore, the IRS will mail your check approximately one week after the day you were scheduled to get your direct deposit.
In addition, the date of the expected refund has also changed for many taxpayers. Those who expected their refunds on February 4 discovered that their expected date of refund has been changed to February 22. Some who expected a refund on Jan 28 would now get their paper check refund by Feb 15. According to some taxpayers, their refund dates have been changed two or more times without any reasons given.
But just what was the ‘processing error’ made by Turbo Tax? No one knows for sure. But one thing is certain – the IRS confirmed that they did not receive any direct deposit banking information from Turbo Tax. Hence there is speculation that the last page of the tax returns that bears the relevant information for direct deposit was never transmitted by Turbo Tax.
Another complaint is that the calls made to Turbo Tax customer service resulted in long waiting times and no concrete answers. Logging into the website brought no better results either.
This entire episode will undoubtedly create bad publicity for Turbo Tax and Intuit. Although taxpayers have been told that it’s ‘only going to be an extra week’ to get their paper check, it does little to reassure irate filers. Even one week may be too long a time for many. This is especially so because if the paper check is delayed, the IRS cannot trace it immediately.
Turbo Tax’s Facebook fan page is deluged with expressions of anger and frustration by many affected taxpayers starting from February 3. Unfortunately, there is nothing anyone can do besides wait.
On their part, Intuit has pledged to waive their $30 processing fee and solve this problem quickly.

I am a 31ster been that way sice the 19th. Called yesterday and spoke with an irs rep and said all 31sts will get theirs on or before feb 1. Every date that is given on wmr is on purpose it coinsides with a dd date. So if you have a 31st date you will have it no later thaat feb 1 and that is that last date you should have it even if you had $ taken out for prep fees. So I would see it on Tues he said since my bank does not hold money. My wmr status says they cant find my info now but its not because im checking too much because I havent checked since yesterday at 11 am. Its just a glitch dont worry about wmr its not up to date or accurate is what I was told I hope this hels 31sters. Good luck59 minutes ago) kelly said:
The over 4000 is not true because most people are getting back more than 5500 almost 42 percent is over that. Its the highest pecentage of all filers. So I know that is not correct. We are not the problem its the IRS new system its new and they have never used it for so many returns. It only checks for errors Audits only happen in at least a year after getting your refund. So if you did lie or make a math error in your favor it wont know it yet. THey are only looking for math error ss errors easy things so dont worry about an audit This will be straight by wed and things will got smoothly like they usually do we as usual as possible with the irs. Dont sweat it if you filed befor the 20 you will have it by wed. I am sure of this I had a long conversation yesterday with the irs agent my friend who works with the tax dept in va where i live gave me his name and number and he was very clear about what was going to happen.

@jason he said wmr is on the legacy system still and it does not update or give accurate dates all the time the 21st was given to a lot of people just to give them extra time and so they dont get overwhelmed with questions and calls stupid if you ask me because that would make me call a lot. but it will be there by wed he said they have a deadline to fix this and it is by feb 1 no matter what your wmr says.

(within the last minute) kelly said:Here is all the info i have in one place. I am a 31ster have been since jan 19. I called the irs number shown in red above yesterday about 11 am and was told feb1 but I could not be sure the person I spoke to had real info since i was the one who gave it to them. So i called a friend at the va tax dept and she gave me the number a an IRS investigator in tenn. that she works with over fraud claims. He took my info and then said he would call me back he called me back around 2ish ans said that I would be getting it BY feb1 for sure probably before since that is the latest I should recieve it they always give a few days for error. He stated that all filers who filed befor jan 20 will have their refunds before or on feb1 for sure. FEB 1 is the date the irs has set for themselves to have all the so called early filers refunded. If you file after the 20th of jan you are good to go no problems it will go smoothly and in real time. He also stated that the wmr site is run of of the legacy system and does not update regualarly enough to keep up with MEF refund dd dates. If you recieve a feb21 or feb 7 doesnt mean you wont have it by feb1 it just means the system is trying to give themselves time to get the deposit to you before you start to call and freak out basically and the irs does not like to be wrong. So if you have filed before the 20th you will recieve your refund by FEB 1 for sure. Also all the tax department does when you file is check for math errors which if you used a tax prep service online or otherwise it would have caught that, ss numbers to match names and make sure no one else claimed that dependant. other than that it will go through. Later next year or even at the end of the year they will be checking w2 matches and different credits and forms to make sure they match if not you will recieve a letter. Now once you have been checked for errors it is then placed into the ACH so your money can be distributed to the banks. All money that goes from the irs goes to the ach then to the banks.

(within the last minute) kelly said:If you have a card that your money is posting to it must go to that bank first they all have a bank then it will be avail to you. So once it is checked for errors it then goes to ach on the correct date. This info is correct and I stand behind it. He also said that if you filed before the 2oth they have already fixed the problem with the mef and are caught up. Your money is with the ach or on it way. ACH has to have 48 before it can post money to your account so if its not there on monday if will be on tues. This is for filers before the 20th the rest are on schedule no matter what wmr says.

The backlog has already been fixed. they are doing it in real time now. if you were to file today you would get a confirmation instantly unless there are errors. so the 7th doesnt mean anything except they dont want you to call before then. If they gave us all the same date can you imagine what would happen at the irs tax offices on that day if something did happen no within thier control ie computer hacking earthquake i dont know but you get my drift.

Your employer does not put a date on it so that is why you get it same day.

hi.. i have a couple of questions.. and if you have already answered them i m sorry. so we got our state yesterday so i know that everything is good,, but we filed on the 12th were excepted according to hr block on the 17th,and then when you ask the irs they say 18th, so i dont know what the difference is there. but when i go on wmr it has been saying we should receive by the 31st the latest, has been saying that since the 19th or 20th as well. so since the dd date hasnt changed that means the 31st or 2/1 the latest on my emerald card. i guess i am looking for some clearance on this and you seem to have the info a little better then most people. now if i can ask when you go on wmr what is the message that they give you on there.ours says we have received your return and it is being processed. and then gives a date of the 31st, and when you call the number it states the same thing, we were one of those that fell into the 25th date, so can you just explain it a little more thanxs.. i can give you my email address [email protected]

Here is some info i got from another forum. A jackson Hewitt employee said they just got this info –“These issues and delays are issues are related directly to a new fraud detection and prevention filtration system holding more refunds than anticipated and more returns are being impacted then originally projected by IRS.
* 1?21/2012 are anticipated to fund on 1/3/2012.”

I have a question about “real time”. I e-filed and my return was accepted on 01/24 (@11 am if that really matters) and I was given a direct deposit date of February 1st by my tax preparer and according to the IRS’s refund cycle chart, which may be obsolete for all I know, it also indicates a February 1st date. After the initial 72 hours following my return being accepted, information finally appeared on the WMR site and indicated my return was “processing” and gave a “by 02/07” deposit date. So, my question is, if returns after the 20th are being handled/deposited in “real time”, the definition of that is what exactly? Is that the 02/07 date that was on WMR (the one day any information showed up at all…) or is the initial date of 02/01 that I received from tax preparers and the indicated date on the IRS refund cycle chart ? I’ve not worried or obsessively checked WMR like I have read that some people have been doing and until I read that 02/07 date, a week after I was expecting funds, is when I became worried. As I began to check on the cause of the sudden change in probable deposit dates, is when I began to read about these delays etc. which has apparently made a lot of people go into hysterics. 02/01 was fine with me because the urgency of these funds lies in my paying rent for my 2 yr old son and I. I don’t need my tax money any more or any less than anyone else but it felt A LOT better when I was ignorant to any delays and knew that my tax preparer’s and the IRS’s refund cycle chart date of 02/01 was the date I would receive my moola like I have every other year for the past 4 years… Bummer.

I filed my return on 1/17/12 with Turbo Tax and direct deposit on Turbo Tax Visa card. Turbo Tax said i would recieve a email from University National Bank of Saint Paul,MN. IRS accepted my return 1/18/12. IRS estimates my direct deposit on 1/25/12. Wheres my Refund says they have recieved my return and its being processed and i should recieve my refund 1/27/12. I never recieved the email from University Bank and when i tried to look up the website Santa Barbara Bank would come up so i checked the refund status on Santa Barbara Bank and it said it said in BIG RED letters that they had sent me an email stating that the IRS had delays in processsing many returns and they were going to take another week and i should recieve my refund 2/1/12. I have yet to recieve any email from anyone. I looked on Wheres My Refund today and it says have recieved my refund and its being processed i should recieve it 2/7/12. I recieved the Turbo Tax card about 4-5 days after filing my return. I dont understand when will my refund be deposited on the Turbo Tax card?Anonymousjosh said:

Earlier this morning I was on and there were a few of us that banked with CHASE and had issues with them being able to see any pending deposits. They were only giving the same info that we were able to see. I just got off the phone with a really nice rep and she gave me the nmber for the ACH department. In case anyone needs it .. it is 1-800-677-7477 and then select options 1-3-2.

Okay, the Mods says “We like good news!”, so here is a bit: I just had a lovely conversation with a very nice, older sounding lady. She’s as frazzled as we are. She says all the calls are not helping, though she understands why everyone is concerned. As for my personal refund, I did as I said and was very nice, and empathetic to her plight as well (I would hate to work at the IRS call center right now)and she told me that my actual, honest-to-goodness dd is 2/7. So I said “oh, I didn’t know you did dd throught the week, ony on Fridays” she said they stopped that practice long ago, and refunds are dd on any day of the week, though WEDNESDAYs and FRIDAYs are their paramount dd days. Having said that, I asked her if my dd could go in at anytime on 2/7, she said they send it between 12 – 6 am. She said it should be showing as pending in my account (I have it going directly into my own account so it doesn’t have to circumvent SBBT or any other bank first) between those hours. She did say that it was not UNUSAL for some dds to drag out a bit – especially now as they are playing back up, but she said if your bank doesn’t see it by 10 – 11 am, it’s NOT COMING THAT DAY, to check after 12 midnight.

If your refund is not credited to your account by February 19, 2012, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 19, 2012 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then.”

I filed my taxes on the 27th of January, accepted by the IRS. When I checked where is my refund it says I should have it by the 14th. The 14th is here and I still don’t have my refund, there is no 9001 code, I am extremely frustrated.AnonymousOur site it operated by volunteers and we love help! More Information on Where is my Refund.http://accountingservicesofyork.com/?p=669
February 21, 2012
Estimates are that about half of all taxpayers who filed between 2/2 and 2/7 across the nation have not yet had their refund released by the IRS. Last week, we reported that the IRS “Where’s My Refund” was not displaying any information at all on most taxpayers affected by this latest nationwide computer problem at the IRS. This problem at the IRS can incorrectly lead these taxpayers to think that their tax return was not filed even though it was actually filed. This past weekend, the IRS began reporting an estimated refund date for some of the taxpayers affected by this problem, which is in many cases either 2/23 or 2/24. For other taxpayers, the IRS “Where’s My Refund” still shows no information, even though the taxpayer actually filed a tax return in early February. Based on information we are receiving, some of the taxpayers who were affected by this nationwide refund problem at the IRS should receive their refund this Thursday or Friday. As of today, looking at statistics of tax returns filed, here are some statistics:
– for returns filed on 2/1, approximately 10% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/2, approximately 45% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/3 – 2/4, approximately 60% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/5 – 2/9, approximately 40% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/10, approximately 50% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/11, approximately 50% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed on 2/12, approximately 50% have not yet been released by the IRS.

I’m having a csection the 17th so we are saving 2grand for hubby’s time off. I need a few baby things to get and then of course the 3d tv that the hubs wants. We are getting the 10k overpayment we are owed back. Funny how quick they were to tax us 30% on hubby’s severance and now it takes forever to get it back.Shelly said:
