AnnPhone number says received and being processed should receive within 21 days.
MattI was excepted on 1/24 and I can’t get any WMR or the phone number…hopefully I get the same as everyone else excepted on 1/24…anyone else have anything pending?
SandyI filed on 1/17 with a form 8863 and was accepted on 1/24. Before the site became unavailable this morning it had said that my return was received but still being processed. No date, just the 21 day statement.
CelesteWhat does WMR say for those of you who filled with the 8863 form and was accepted? I filled on 24th and accepted 26th with the 8863. WMR says “We are sorry Where’s My Refund is currently unavailable. Please try again later or call the Refund Hotline at 1-800-829-1954.” I’m hoping since we’ve already been accepted and now on hold we’ll be the test batch so we’ll get it back faster then midfebuary.
MeCall the number. The WMR isn’t working but 1 (800) 829-1954 will give you your info. Mine was accepted 1/23, I paid fees up front…DD set for Feb. 1st.
AnnAccepted 1/27 war says currently unavailable.
NaeI was also accepted on 1/25 but when I checked wmr they have no information on it. So I the irs and the lady i spoke with stated that she doesnt even see any returns since last year. So who knows when we will be getting ours. We filed tt on the 5th of Jan.
AnonymousI was accepted 1/25 also…just got a pending deposit in my Account Now card set to post on fri!! :)
AnonymousI was also accepted on 1/24 and got a DD date of 2/1! :D
ArinoreAccepted 1/24/12, the WMR says “Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank on February 1, 2013,” so looks like those of us who were accepted early will be processed rather quickly.
BookI filed on the 12th, accepted on the 24th with turbotax, paid to file so no waiting on a third party to take their cut. Expecting a DD in my checking account. Is there a reason not to have it go to a Checking account? I really dislike all things walmart….
AlizeI’m still waiting also .. :(
Divine kmazI used freetaxusa.com as well. I filed on the 8th and accepted on the 24th and I wished I would have used another account besides my checking for dd. I’m still waiting
AlizeI was accepted 1/25.. i filed with free tax usa.. so no fees are going to be taken out.. i also opt for dd with my walmart card like i used last year. Is anyone else hopeful for a DD today???
MichelleWe we’re accepted 1/24, I work for one of the bigboys that was guaranteed a spot in the hub program, so filed there to guarantee early acceptance. My manager has been telling us expect to see checks this week, because the whole purpose of this program was to try out new systems before the bumrush. I’ll stop back in if I get news of mine or hear about people who were accepted on the 23rd getting money.
CorizonHi All :) Back again too :) Loved this site last year :)
AnonymousMoney!!!!!!
Matt ArnoldHopefully since we were chosen as testers and accepted early, our returns will be at the top of the queue tomorrow. :)
I know right? I feel like a test subject. Guess we’ll know something tomorrow…hopefully.
AnonymousI just wish that they would give us early folks info that way we know what is going on.
dphillipsConnie,
The delay is with any return that has Form 8863. And yes, the bug was discovered in the new system after they accepted some early returns. My guess is that it won’t take until mid-February for them to fix the issue, but they are no doubt trying to give themselves some wiggle room. :)
AaronWow i feel like a complete idiot. I did the same. I bought the software and got federal free.
I used the free edition of TT, so I didn’t have to pay any fees. I’m having my refund DD into my checking account.
Aaron7:23am est still nothing on sbbt website. Am hoping at 9am est which will be 6am pst the website will update and my info will be on there. I kinda expect to see my refund on the 7th or 8th but hope for the 1st.
aaronSame, but have either of you had ur info added go sbbt website yet?
ConnieI keep reading this for 1040, is it any different than for 1040A? Heck, I’m happy to get a refund, so it’s OK if it comes later. I am guessing this bug was found after they started accepting them? Education Credit form has always hung up early filing, I’m surprised we were able to fill it out at all this early.
I was also accepted on 1/27/13. Filed with TurboTax on 1/25/13 :)
chadmhttps://cisc.sbtpg.com/index.aspx here is the site that lets you check sbbt to see if they have deposited money there from some of the tax preparers
I have a account now….not sure if that is a good sign or if it is just part of the process…lelewhyHello, Im a 8863er I filed on 1/18/13 was accepted on 1/25/13. In 2009 I was a victim of ID theft and my taxes were delayed for 3 years from that point on. This year I was told I was able to file with no blocks now Im delayed because of school credits crazy. Let the waiting began.
AnonymousMine was accepted on Sunday 1/27/13 I filed with TT on 1/25/13.
Anonymousthis is what I found sunday on the tax wise blog
IRS EFile: Delayed Processing of Form 8863The IRS announced on an industry call with software vendors participating in the Controlled Launch this morning that they would start rejecting any e-file that contains Form 8863 (Education Credits) effective immediately.
What does this mean for returns that you have already sent to the EFC, but have not been sent to the IRS?
Any return that you have sent to the EFC that has NOT been transmitted to the IRS that contains Form 8863 will be rejected by the IRS with either Reject F1040-419 or F1040A-419 Form 8863 is not being accepted by Modernized e-File (MeF) at this time .
Will the EFC reject any e-file that contains Form 8863 to the ERO instead of sending it to the IRS?
No, we do not crack open the e-files at the EFC, we simply batch them and send them to the IRS. Any efiles already at the EFC will be transmitted to the IRS.
Will you be issuing an update to the US 1040 module to prevent the e-files from being created?
Yes, we are working on creating US 1040 v 4 that will prevent you from creating an e-file if the return contains Form 8863
What will happen to the e-files that the IRS has already accepted that contained Form 8863?
The accepted e-files that contain Form 8863 will be held for processing by the IRS until internal IRS programming can be made to accomodate the processing of these returns.
Will this impact when the taxpayer refunds are processed for any accepted returns that contain Form 8863?
Yes, the accepted returns are being held, which means they will not be sent to refund processing.
hope this helps a little
AnonymousI don’t believe the IRS has decided what they are exactly going to do with the early filers who were accepted with Form 8863. It is likely they will hold them until they can process them.
There are over 3 million people who file using Form 8863 each year, so this has a huge impact. I doubt this will take long to fix.
mustanggrlFiled 1/22 accepted 1/26.Form 8863 included in filing. I am a single mother of four, work full time and am a full time student. Just going to wait and see what happens, but I am hoping that those already accepted will be processed before mid Feb to test the fixes to the system. It seems to me that they identified a problem and once they think it is fixed they will use returns on hand to run through to ensure the fix is good before opening for those who have not been accepted yet.
AnonymousThat is a question that I can not answer, It could be stored as they fix the issue, I would assume that if they were going to be kicked back that would already be happening. I hope for all of you that it comes sooner than later because waiting is horrible :(
chadmWhat happens to the returns of the people that had already filed a 8863 form…i had filed with one already and was accepted.

JenniferI filed my taxes with tax act on the 18th, received an email that they were accepted on the 24th. As part of the email, this was at the bottom:
As part of controlled IRS testing, a small number of federal returns will be transmitted to the IRS between January 23 and January 29, 2013. This is before processing officially begins on January 30. If you receive an acknowledgement during this timeframe, your return has been accepted by the IRS but your refund will not be processed early.
If you expect a federal refund, the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool will provide personalized information about your tax return beginning January 30th. The timeframe for issuing refunds will not begin before this date.
The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days. See What to Expect for Refunds for more information on when to expect your refund.
Ready for that refund!
MaritzaDid anyone that had the “one liner” ever find out what it means?
sandiMy direct from same employer I have been getting them over a year from didxnot post today although I was told by suoervisor it was in backend at 5:30pm. They gave me $300 of my $1660 while I waired for it to officially post and it did not. Called and spoke with another supervisor and was told tomorrow although again confirmed they had it. I don’t understand and given no explanation.
October 15, 2012 at 1:19 pm in reply to: Why was my refund pushed back with processing delays? #2426AndrewFiled my return in early April and still haven’t recieved any notice or communication from the IRS. The website WMR has been stuck on “Your information has been recieved and is being processed” since mid April. terrible………….
StillwaitinginthesouthI am still waiting also. IRS site says return received and processing…..ugh. Since June now. At one point it said refund would arrive June now it says…processing. Very frustrating. Definitely making sure I do not have a refund on my 2012 return.
August 27, 2012 at 11:04 am in reply to: Why was my refund pushed back with processing delays? #2337patiently.waitingHas anyone received their refund yet?
patience running lowI been waiting since February n it’s July 17 nothing yet I really need to know what’s going on with my cash
AnonymousAfter five months of waiting, finally in July I was told by the IRS they didn’t know when they would be able to send the money, — they did not have the funds. How does one argue with that?
Anonymous@ MEl I am going through the same process i sent all info in and recieved a letter stating that i should recieve a reply by july 19th
MelI had called and asked about my refund in April and the rep told me that my return was going into examination and that I should receive a letter by May 7th requesting more info. Well the letter came exactly on May 7th requesting info and I actually didn’t send back the info til the 1st of June because the info they asked for I actually had to wait for it to be mailed out to me regarding my infant child. I called irs and asked the rep will my info be accepted because my child is still young so there wasn’t a lot of options, he told me exactly what to request and mail to them and assured me that it’s all that needed for a child that young. I understood completely why the irs is being so cautious now and this is my first child so
New to claiming credits so I understand perfectly why they would want more info and that’s absolutely finbitty I kond of want my money now :/ so now I’m waiting for some kind of response, I’ve realized their responses take at least a month and I did add tracking so I know exactly what date they received it. It’s just waiting to see how long it sits on someone’s desk now :(Kelly L. HansenI wrote the post above, my social ends in edited by admin. This site is not affiliated with the IRS. Please do not post personally identifying info.
Please credit the account from which you took the $150 per month in disability funds TODAY. It is a USDIRECTEXPRESS account where social security disability places funds for people with disabilities each month. And I need financial help this month so much. I have many extra demands on my budget over the past few months, and I just can’t wait any longer. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Kelly L. HansenI’ve been waiting forever, was promised it would be in February 2012, for a 3600.00 injured spouse refund, and I’ve still not received it!! The IRS took $150 per month for 30 months from my disability benefit of $1000 per month (my fixed income) to pay my ex-spouse’s unpaid business tax … and I received my final letter (after my first temporary letter stating relief would be given) on January 30, 2012 stating the process was final and the funds deducted from my disability check would be returned to me. I am still waiting and it is now June 4, 2012! I desperately need this money. What should I do?
If I didn’t pay the IRS, I would be charged additional fees, penalties, and a higher percentage. And whatever else. I hope the IRS plans to add all of these things to my $3600.00. I should be due around $10,000.
Please, IRS, let me know what I need to do to get my money! I’m an injured spouse. Initially I was so pleased with the people and the process, but waiting and waiting for the money has soured my experience. PLEASE HELP ME.
BillRIRS told me on phone that my return was being reviewed by examination department and that I should have received a letter stating same. I never received a letter of any kind from them. Tax preparer told me to call back and ask them to resend. They would not resend and told me that some deduction(s) was going to be disallowed and my tax obligation is going up. But no letter and no details. Scary.
AnonymousLet’s hope praying to get unblocked is more effective than praying for your refund…lmao, sorry we are working on a fix for you, but wanted to stop in and say hi let you know you are not all alone in the forum.
Nevermind, I see.you were logged in to post this message. Please send an email to admin (at bottom of page) I just need to ask you a couple questions. I’m so sorry for this silly block….
Hi Are. just pray. I’m so JUST KIDDING. sorry that you were unable to post. We had to put a lot of speed bumps in place to deal with my “stalker” and looks like you were affected. Can you send me an email from your registered email address so that I can verify this is you and get you whitelisted. Thanks :)
AnonymousI am not getting a “You cannot post from your location” message on here. I am in London, still am. I also am not the person who was spamming the boards or whatever happened last night. Can we fix this please?
Anonymous1. Double Check Direct Deposit Routing Number, number for number
2. Double Check Direct Deposit Account Number, number for number
3. Verify that you checked the right type of account (checking/savings) on your tax software (If you had it DD in a savings account, make sure you or your accountant didn’t check “checkings.”)
4. Call your bank to see if deposit was rejected for any reason (Wrong account number, name not matching, if it is a small down home bank you will find out this reason within 10 minutes, big banks are harder.)
5. If bank has no idea, wait until the day specified on Where’s My Refund (Where’s My Refund (WMR)) to call the IRS, they will mail you out a check pretty quickly. I know people that have gotten their checks within 2 weeks of failed direct deposit dates… Shortest was about 1.5 weeks.Always wait a full five days after your failed HDD date to call the IRS (so you won’t waste 30 or more minutes of your life on hold just to hear “We can’t give you information until….” If you filed on April 25, don’t call till the 30th.
Failed direct deposits can happen for a multitude of reasons, the most common being entering wrong routing and account numbers, or putting them in the wrong places on the tax return (switching the numbers). One of my banks, a credit union, denied multiple deposits because many banks are adopting the policy of not accepting returns that have a different name than the bank account. Every return that is supposed to be direct deposited has a specific set of ACH deposit instructions that go from the IRS to the bank about a day before your return is supposed to be deposited. If your bank sees another name on their that does not completely match the name on the account, they may deny it. They also may deny it for having incorrect account numbers. The worst thing is that if you entered in the wrong account number and it was connected to another bank account at that bank, then it will be put in that account with no question (this is for banks that have not adopted the name matching policy yet). People who this has happened to have reported NEVER receving their tax returns. Of course, the IRS is not responsible for a lost return due to incorrect account numbers! Unless it of course comes back to them as rejected, in that case you will get a check in the mail within 2-6 weeks to the address listed on your tax return..

lisa whiteheadI filed my rare on march 16 said I would receive the refund by April 24th nothing yet. When will I get my refumd
IrfanThis is why people are told to wait for their W-2 s. The dernifefce is probably a deduction for something you have taken out pre-tax like health care or retirement.Did you file it yourself, or with somebody like H&R Block? If you filed through someone else, call them and ask if it was transmitted yet they’re not legally allowed to send it to the IRS without having the W-2.If you filed it yourself, then you know it’s already sent. In that case, you’ll have to file an amended return, 1040X. You can download the form and instructions at irs.gov. It’s not real complex, but must be filed on paper, not efiled. For your state, do it with the correct numbers from your W-2. You might end up with a letter from them too if they do their computer match with the feds before your federal return is corrected. You’re not in trouble with the IRS, but you’ve caused yourself some unnecessary aggravation.Good luck.
MadelynWow. Really?Paypal is already so suoipcisus in my mind. I have a paypal account for my business and one for personal use. For the business, I don’t mind giving a tax id, but for the personal account I really don’t think I should need to supply my social security number unless I pass a certain threshold.
InnocentI wouldn’t be too crceeonnd about the message but, in will in fact delay the receipt of your refund for a bit. My friend got the same message and they requested proof of a dependant living with him and him having legal custody but, this was triggered because he was claimed on someone else’s return as well. All it is, is there is some discrepancy in information that you entered on your return to what the IRS has in their system and basically want you to send the additional information proving what ever it may be If you call the IRS they will be able to give you more information on the problem and should be able to tell you what the notice is requesting (800) 829-1040 Was this answer helpful?
PeniataIt’s good to see someone thinking it thurogh.
DavidIn 2005, the IRS tightened the rules for head of uohsehold.Previously, you could claim HOH if your adult child lived with you no matter how much money they made. Now, you must also be able to claim that child as a dependent and that meant their income has to be less than $3500.Previously (for 1 or 2 years *only*), you could even claim HOH if you had a child that you treated as your own living with you all year. Now, that child had to be a qualifying child related to you by blood or marriage. The child of a roommate, girlfriend or cousin does not qualify. While most preparers noticed and followed the rule changes, some didn’t. While most preparers quizzed their clients to ensure they actually met the rules, some simply heard I-did-it-last-year and did it again. As for HRB, did you have the extra cost insurance that said HRB would actually pay for the mistakes, including tax, or just the regular professional courtesy that they would try to assist with an amended return and consider paying the penalties?Ultimately, the tax return is your paperwork. Ultimately, the information on the return and tax bill are yours. If you owe higher taxes, then it’s yours to pay.
Karenthe Tax advocate is yes a free IRS rcsviee however, it is not for resolving your tax debtthe office is available to help you resolve tax issues you have not been able to resolve with the normal IRS channelsit is a small office, not a big work force and very busyif you have a $16000 tax debt, you only options are to pay it, get an installment agreement or try the Offer in Compromise which you can do yourselfthe latter is not often accepted and not a hugely successful option
Hmmmmpaying fines, getting license, computer fixed, hd camera (to start a vlog), bariatric clinic, getting in shape, establish credit, and MOVE! ITS A LOT I NEED/WANT THIS MONEY FOR…sad praying for this best!!!
VeronicaIf you REALLY want to be “smart” about it, don’t have so much tax withheld from your pay in the first place! A “decent” reunfd in my book is $0. Heck, I’d rather PAY when I file. That way the government is lending ME money, not the other way around that’s all that YOU are doing and you’re getting nothing in return for it either. If you went to Wally World and bought some stuff for $15 and gave the cashier a $20 and she told you that you’d have to wait until next April for your change, you’d go postal, right? Hell yes you would! Why then is it such a great deal when the GOVERNMENT does the same thing to you? Dumber yet, you AGREE in advance to let them do it to you. You ASK them to do it to you!If you get more than pocket change for a reunfd then you’re doing yourself a disservice. If you had the proper amount of tax withheld in the first place, you’d be current on your credit cards or be ahead on them even. The interest you would have saved could have EASILY been as much as HALF of whatever reunfd you are looking at given the credit card rates often charged to college students! If you’re carrying any credit card debt, pay that off FIRST. That’s a rate of return of between 35% and 75% right there. You want smart? You just got it!
jeffI filed on the March 15, give or take was excepted 2 days later and had a should be dd date of march 30. Now its telling me because of processing delays April 24th. Am I gonna get my return?

Then this morning it had changed to the “6 week” for a short time and now they can’t give me any info…???? I am really hoping that they did indeed send it and it has not made it to my bank.
AnonymousAnother interesting read!

Another branch of the IRS may have intercepted your refund for further review. When this happens, IRS Customer Service may tell you that the refund has been sent out when in fact it never reached your account. This is part of the IRS Revenue Protection Strategy and it insures that questionable information on a tax return is addressed before paying out the refund. If this happened in your case, you will get a letter from the IRS within the next few weeks to explain why your refund was withheld. They may need more information from you in order to complete the review and disburse your refund.AnonymousMrsRivera52 says:

Lmao well I just got off the phone with the IRS rep and this is my story: Filed 3/23 accepted within minutes still no money so I called this past Monday and the IRS rep said that they have already deducted my husbands debt from 2008 and my refund had been completed and to expect the return before April 23 however my family needs to get up to new jersey due to a family member in the hospital so I called again and spoke to rep number:1000730245 and told him our situation the put me on hold for 5 min and came back and told me the money has been frozen of course I asked why and he said to see if there are any other outstanding debts I told him there were none, he then told me I wouldn’t even receive it for 2-3 weeks from April 16th…. I’m livid at this point and asked why the previous rep told me the other information he said she shouldn’t have….. Well at this point this is a bunch of bull and I don’t believe anything they are saying…. That would out us at damn near 2 months for an e file smh!!!
