I’m pretty sure that all of us who lost our bars are just being re-sequenced. There’s NO WAY in hell we are all in review. This same exact thing happened last year. My husband and I filed last year on January 30th or 31st and we didn’t get our refund until early March. It was crazy. Even if we do go over the 21 days, I’m not going to bother calling the IRS because I don’t believe a single word they say!

Why don’t they just halt return submissions until they process the ones they already have? I guess that’s just too logical though.

None of the dates the IRS lists on the transcripts mean a thing, my last years transcript says that they didn’t accept my tax return until March when I filed on Jan 30. Those dates may mean something to the IRS… but God only knows what they could possibly mean, I’m sure the IRS doesn’t even know.

Check your transcripts and look at the codes. If you have a 570 code, you may be in for a long wait. If you have the 846 code then you’re golden.

Again, pay no mind to any of those dates, they mean NOTHING! All they’ll do if confuse you.

@Brittany – My transcripts also say that my return was received 2/9, even though TT said it was accepted 2/6. I think you may be in the same boat as most of the 2/6ers and you’ll see a WMR update with a DDD late tonight/early tomorrow morning.

I like how all these different answers all end with the same timeline. I wish they would just say, tax returns are delayed for this group 6-8 weeks! But they know, they know we will flip out and they know no one will early file again and probably not use the method they used. @Memphismom the 6-8 week timeframe people keep getting from agents is a direct scripting from the IRS manual. We are not all in review, that is the scripting they want given when an account is being re-sequenced.

We filed 1/20 accepted 1/21 no bars no transcripts no nothing tax topic dissapeard no holds owed we filed through h&r block they said our money is expected tomorrow 2/11 i just talked to a nice woman with irs after being on hold about 2hrs long and she said everything on our end is fine although there is a dead cycle for anyone who filed the first two weeks may have gotten caught up.this can include tax return filed from the 20th-22nd. If you dont have any code please do not worry and be patient. If also your status is showing still processing your 2014 transcript will not show. So long story short if you file early you basically can be waiting longer. Check your status after 3am.

I filed TaxAct on 2/1, accepted instantly. Got 1 bar on 2/3 then they disappeared on 2/7. Refund amount still showing. Can see my transcripts cause I appar tried to steal my own identity. Can’t even order them yet. Hopefully it just shows up in my bank acct soon!

@andrew The banks get a notice that a direct deposit is coming maybe a few days before. The bank will receive the actual money on the date of the deposit, but some banks will post the deposit days earlier. So banks don’t “hold money”. It is just how they choose to serve their customers. My bank posts my DD 1 day earlier, but they don’t get the money til the next day. But BOA, who I was a branch manager and loan officer for, will not post until the day of the DD. This is from my years in banking.

okay so I filed my taxes on the 20th and was accepted on the 21st i talk to three tax advocate. first three told me everything was okay. my 21 days came up today and I talk to someone and she told me that I had been my time has been pushed back because I went under review on the 25th I need some type of information she didn’t tell me what I could do to fix it all she told me was that I had to wait six to eight weeks so I have talked to you….my boss has been gone for 2 weeks now and all I’m getting is processing and date will show when available…

Quite a few have received DDD of this Friday from filing the 6th early morn. I’m not so sure about later in the day because it’s supposedly the last day for that cycle. The problem with the cycle chart is this year they aren’t just depositing on one day a week like they have previous years. People are getting deposit days all through the week.

It does seem like it will be Friday, Monday at the latest. I’m curious to see because I have Netspend, and they’ve gotten me my refund 2 days early like advertised every year. They don’t have pending transactions, it’s just released the second they get it.

Oh and I’ve seen tons of people through the last few years get their refund without WMR ever updating. Mine did that last year. This year I saw a few say they’ve had their refund a week and it never updated more beyond one bar. Totally unreliable beta quality program. IRS probably figures why finish developing it when we only use it as a courtesy to people for 3 months a year?

I used turbo tax. accepted on the 6th. I have tried to look up my transcripts one day it said N/A and now its telling me all my information is incorrect and I am locked out my account. I swear the irs is such a pain sometimes. I am just curious when they are going to deposit the money as I have seen some people wait weeks already and some get theirs within a few days. HOWEVER!!! I did call the irs and they said they had RECEIVED my return on 2/9… 3 days after TT told me the irs received therefore I think tt automated system is lying to us and giving us false hope. GET IT TOGETHER TT AND IRS!

I wanted to check my transcripts but I didn’t recognize any of the verification question answers. I hadn’t had a mortgage with any listed banks, hadn’t had a bank account with any of the listed banks & none of the phone numbers were ones I’ve had. (Although I had a few #’s when. I was 18/19 & admittedly, I have no clue if it’s one of those. I didn’t keep them long enough & too much time passed for me to recall. I’m usually great with phone numbers & at least recognize something once I see it though. I had zero recognition of the 2 that were in my area code) I thought there was just no way every answer would be none of the above. Could it? Have any of you run across that?

Then I thought if I answered wrong they may think I have some ID theft problem & it may freeze my return or something so I just didn’t answer any and exited the page. I keep a keen eye on my credit, never had any issues before whatsoever. Never had any info compromised when all the companies have had security breaches over the last year or 2. (Target, Best buy, Sony, etc) I don’t fall for information seeking scams on the internet or phone…..

I’m not sure so I’m just in it for the ride at this point. It would be nice to have a little assurance though.

filed 1/28 TT accepted 15 mins later just got refund at 530.. it took a total of 14 days..only had one bar on wmr for the entire 14 days.. i still have 1 bar and i have my refund WMR DID NOT UPDATE AND I GOT MY REFUND TODAY.. Hope this helps

I received my return on the 4th of February. Just wanted to let everyone know not to depend on the WMR nor Turbo Tax Status Site (if that is what you used). I filed on the 27th of Jan. was accepted on the 27th. On Jan. 30 I received a DDD of February 4th. My funds were available at 3am on the 4th at Chase bank. The WMR still showed just the two bars AFTER I received my money. Turbo tax STILL says accepted, allow 21 days. LOL. Here’s a handy site if you used Turbo Tax and are awaiting your deposit to go through. It is the bank they use to transfer funds from IRS. Kinda cool. https://cisc.sbtpg.com/ It will show your info one to two days before your refund actually hits your bank. Best of luck to all and again do not read too much into the “status”….it’s not accurate and you will receive your refund sooner than you think. :)

H&r block is holding money I spoke to three different people today the bank guy I spoke with let it slip that they got it in there system yesterday the supervisor that I spoke with after the rep was saying when I asked about my refund being in there system on the 9th he was saying I don’t see that information then the customer care rep told me that they see it but they are not holding my refund I love all of the deception I am glad that people are getting refunds but for me and others the 11th is our 22 day mark and when you pay for services and h&r block treats its customers like we don’t know anything is very frustrating

i just received my tax refund at 530. I filed jan 28th at 330pm accepted 15 mins later.. today is the 14th day of waiting and i finally got it.. i filed with turbo tax free no fees with a deposit to a netspend card ..in total it took 14 days to get a refund.. There is hope..WMR DID NOT update i only had one bar for the whole 14 days and today i got my refund i just checked wmr and it still says return processing so I STILL HAVE ONE BAR AND I GOT MY REFUND AN HOUR AGO.. Ugh! My husband also told me that several of his co-workers have already gotten their refunds as well! I don’t get it! Our return isn’t that complicated and we’ve been filing the same exact way for years! We have no kids, no special credits or anything else. I do itemize since I work from home and deduct my home office and interest payments on our house, but that’s it. Last year was insane with how long we had to wait! Hello everyone! Sorry haven’t been here lately! Been so caught up with work because I will no longer be working lol. So just busy getting everything settled with my work.

Happy to see that a lot got a DDD!!! Mine was for 2/11 as well and I got mine today. Half of it at least and my other half will be tomorrow. My USAA always deposits a day early. The other one, which is AmEx Serve, always deposits on the day of DDD.

I will still come and check up on those that are still waiting and help out with what I can here.

bournerko8v – What they told you is totally bogus. The IRS doesn’t even start entering W2s into their system until around July, long after tax returns have already been issued. I have found that most people answering the phone at the IRS have absolutely no clue what they are talking about and they rarely tell the truth. The real truth is that their computer system is so screwed up and it has been for years and it can’t handle all of the returns that are being filed at once. Because of this, many returns are getting kicked back out of the system and re-sequenced. That’s why it’s taking so long. It has nothing to do with being reviewed or anything like that. The IRS has had huge budget cuts, so obviously upgrading their computer system isn’t a priority for them right now.

My wife and I filed Married Seperate and my return was accepted by GA February 3rd. I’m not really worried about the wait, but the message above does concern me. My wife does not have the option 3 message, hers just says processing, allow 30 days, etc.

In the same boat as the both posts. Used TT accepted 2/4. I have just about every situation possible attached. EIC, Education, Self Employed and Obamacare. Wage transcript is all that is showing and WMR shows accepted. They seem to really be dropping the ball this year.

Today was my 21st day and finally got the chance to speak to the irs , I’ve been in hold since January 30th because they are verifying my income and w2s because I have two and they are checking everything with the new system update ,if the system flag something they send it to review mine will take up to 8 weeks since the 30th so I know what its happening now they are no letting nothing pass by that’s why my bars are gone and the refund amount with the topic , when they could prove I’m right with the income they will approve it but could take up to 8 weeks since the day they go away.. So lets welcome a review this year my first review ever.
