State is broke thanks to businesses being shut for months so, as we own a small business that lost a ton of $ and almost closed its doors, I’m expecting a nice fat audit so they won’t have to pay out anything. They are now going thru 2018 taxes looking for anything wrong to hit us with. And the Governor wonders why folks are moving away in droves.
Just changed to an ‘audit’ status with a phone number to call. I doubt even calling will hurry this up. Maybe just more stall tactics by a broke state. Funny though how they keep taking taxes out of my way! Check.
Still processing for 7 weeks now. I honestly wonder if NY even has the funds to pay? Ridiculous
Received your….
Blah blah blah….. stuck for two months now, at processing. Damn they Are S….L….O….W!I’m honestly starting to wonder if NY doesn’t have the funds to pay out. I’ve never seen so many folks before not getting ANY movement, myself included. It’s funny how NY can spend so much $$& on tourist advertising but can’t give back what we have put in the last year. Somethings just “off” about it all this year.
February 29, 2020 at 4:36 pm in reply to: anyone else have your tax return is still being processed. a refund date will be #4386509@Proudfatherof1 you can still order your transcripts to come thru the mail. Sucks as it will take 5-10 days but if your still waiting, at least you can check your codes that way and see where they are at with your forms.
Filed via TT on 2-15, accepted same day, one bar. Went to the dreaded “still processing” this Wednesday, lost my bar. Woke up to two bars with a DD date of 3-4. Keep your faith, at least things are moving along.
February 29, 2020 at 8:51 am in reply to: We have received your tax return and it is being processed #4386200Update: Filed via TT 2/15, accepted same day, one Bar, tax topic 152. This Wednesday we lost the one bar, and received the dreaded “still processing” message. WMR updated today to a DD date of 3/4. Very crazy tax season, yet again, but keep your faith thru it all! And if you get put on a second 60 day review, get an Advocate ASAP!
We went thru this crap two years ago. A 60 day letter, another one, ID verification over the phone, then in person etc. etc. Finally qualified for an advocate and we got our refund in October. This year, bar disappeared and “still processing” message. Not good and not wanting to go thru this mess again. If it goes past another month, I’m amending fast.
Filed 02/15, accepted same day. Had one bar, tax topic 152, your return is processing. Today We updated to Bar missing and your return “is Still processing”. Not good. Called and of course we have to wait out the full 21 days so calling back March 7th. Not good and starting to mimic two years ago when we finally got our refund in November. Will update Once I know which letter we are getting.
Your completely wrong. Anyone under “still” has either an ID. edification coming, a 60 day or 90 day hold or has gone off into the fraud dept. I myself ran this wonderful race two years ago, and finally got our refund in October that year.
I reached out to my local congresswoman guys. They are researching it further for me.
You or Anyone’s local Congressmen or women will do squat! And that’s because, they Can’t! The IRS Only answers to the Fed who h basic runs itself. IRS agents and officials are not elected and no one in Congress will aim for them for fear of reprisals. I was told this from two of my state congressmen to my face two years ago when our refund got held for 10 months.
@spookyrides how do I get a tax advocate? I am still so confused on this whole process. Did I do something wrong? I’ve never had this happen.
Call the ITS and tell them about your 45 day hold, then ask for the national number for an Tax Advocate. Once you call that number, someone should get back to you within 2-3 days from a local office.
You didn’t “Talk to an IRS Agent”. These are entry level call center folks who take your info, put you on hold only to look up a generic answer to your question. They are Paid to get you off the phone as quickly as they can. You won’t get to talk to a real agent until after Several 45 Day wait periods have begun, and after the ID Verification stuff has hit or if you Finally qualify for a Tax Advocate, who (go figure) is a completely different part of the IRS.
The 45 days sadly can turn into several more 45 day periods. Anyone that needs their refund to keep utilities from being turned off or getting evicted should, and can ask for a Tax Advocate (junior IRS Agent) to get involved. Had this whole thing happen 2 years ago along with redacted B. I think we both Finally got our refunds in Nov/Dec. This type of “random” stuff should be illegal but, sadly the IRS Only answers to the Fed who could care less.
They are ALL call center rookie agents, and paid based on how fast they can get you off the phone. Generic scripts based on what you are asking them. ( That’s why they put you on hold after asking them a question, to look up a generic answer). Spent many weeks on the phone with them two years ago, and found this to be true.
“Still being processed” means that the IRS software sees something it doesn’t like. A human set of eyes reviews it, and either it passes to the next step, or gets put in the que for letters to come. We went thru this two years ago, and despite giving them everything they wanted, we finally got a refund in November. Ask redacted about this, he can and will say it’s true. Hopefully the newest version of their fraud software isn’t targeting 500k folks like in prior years,
Hey hey redacted! Seems your leading the party this year! Cool & congrats! Spooky filed yesterday, can’t wait to see what the ole’ IRS has waiting for us this year, but…. so far…. things look much smoother. Even the acceptance part went very fast. Talk soon my “Pasta” friend!
I really don’t think that filing early has anything to do with it. I know people crow about that every year but I think it’s just bad luck.
I always file as early as possible and I get my refund shortly after PATH lifts. This year I filed later than normal on 1/28.LUCK has nothing to do with it! The IRS targets early Path Filers for audits! I’ve heard this many times in trying to get our refund two years ago, finally released that November. I’m waiting until the 9th. This year again. By then the IRS will have enough returns locked up to audit.
January 29, 2020 at 11:42 pm in reply to: People with EIC and CTC, when was the earliest refund last year? #4334995@Rebecca, that’s my best advice to anyone is just be patient and wait. It’s better to wait 2 weeks or so and file then filing early and getting flagged and waiting 6 months or longer! Granted everyone situation is different, but I’ve been burned twice now, not going for a 3rd time! Lol
I too know the pain of the dreaded audits! Much better to wait and let others be the newest “ insanity models” of the IRS in the early audits, trips to the local office, mailings of documents, not qualifying for an advocate, only to qualify months later, the fraud dept., it goes on and on. Worst life experience ever! And no one to help. Be smart, wait the extra few weeks.
I think most folks, like myself, are mad because the whole “Idea” of this was to prevent tax fraud, but by now the “bad guys” aren’t claiming people with the EIC and simply going after people without it. Why penalize people with Kids when they need the refunds most of all? Last year the IRS has over 500 Million in fraudulence taxes processed. And it’s also not fair for them to collect two more weeks of interest from family’s.
January 26, 2020 at 9:49 pm in reply to: People with EIC and CTC, when was the earliest refund last year? #4333043I’m waiting to file on 2/10/20 I’d suggest everyone else do the same. Let all the glitches get worked out. 2 years in a row and I been screwed over. I’m sincerely hoping this one is better for us all!
Stay safe everyone!!
We’re doing the same thing redacted. Last year we waited until a few days before they released Path refunds, all was smooth. The prior two years? You know our story, horrible! Let them go after enough others to fill their “Audit Quotas” . I don’t believe for one minute that their new software will not create the insanity of prior years. Lmk how you make out my friend, and I’ll post the same! Thx
Not sure about the feds, but NY state did this with us a few years ago. Best of luck
January 22, 2020 at 5:06 pm in reply to: False Flags, System Glitches, & The Dreaded Yet Ambiguous Code 9001 #4332485You and me both! The last two years have been beyond horrible! The newest version of their fraud software should be running this year 100%, lets hope so.
Not trying to scare anyone, just facts as the IRS targets early returns. Look up the mess from last year on here, they figure that the Bad Guys will file early using your info before you or the IRS can catch the theft. And yes, I’ve been doing our own taxes including small business for over 18+ years. If you haven’t been audited, good for you but loads of folks didn’t get their refunds last year until the fall! That’s how long it takes once you get frozen and have the wait for multiple letters in the mail, requests for more info and the fun trips down to your local office. Then there’s trying to qualify for an advocate etc. And yes, it’s called Pathers, yesh…. one Typo!
I filed on the 15th using FreeTaxUSA. Just got an email about an hour ago saying it was accepted. Does that mean I’m in a test batch? And if it does, what does THAT mean?
The “Test Batch” is nothing more then the IRS taking a select bunch of returns early from Turbo & maybe one other, just to make sure everything on their end is working. Usually you will either A., get back your money earlier as long as your not a Panther or B. Get targeted for an audit because you filed so early. Honestly, both good and bad.
Hey guys. So I’ve filed my own taxes for the <span id=”IL_AD2″ class=”IL_AD”>last 5 years</span> and this year , it keeps saying that i can’t exile bc a form that i am using won’t allow me to exile , then says to check the review to see which one and I do and it says nothing about <span id=”IL_AD4″ class=”IL_AD”>the form</span>. Also it keeps giving me the green light to go ahead and efile. I don’t understand.
We got stuck with something like this a few years ago using Turbo. I think our solution was to log out of the program, then simply log back in and run the review again. It cleared itself out of the missing forms, which, of course we knew we already didn’t need. Best of luck
