Filed last week. Rejected for a Ssn typo this AM. Resubmitted and accepted by 10:49 One bar on WMR
ShareeUPDATE I FILED TODAY WITH TT AND WAS ACCEPTED RIGHT NOW!
BrubrajaAbout the TT glitch concerning the 1040A with EIC for 2+ dependents…..I thought I was part of that glitch, filed a 1040A and had all of the other criteria, I had filed on 1/16 and have been “Pending” ever since. So, I thought I was part of that glitch, I just received an email from TT 2 minute ago saying my return was accepted by IRS. So, was the 1/22/15 resubmit date going around just a hoax? Just wanted everyone to know that today is the 20th, official open date of IRS and mine was accepted today, so, maybe this whole glitch problem wasn’t true???
msdld2015They did a test run and accepted a soimereturns before today, they just wasn’t getting processed today, I was accepted on the 16th
AnonymousI was just accepted via TT also. I filed 1/14. They’ve already refunded my fees so that’s a plus.
NYCteachermomFiled with TT on the 14th and ACCEPTED just now.

TeeI filed with freetaxusa Jan 15th @ 11:50pm. Got accepted Jan 16th @ noon. Been using them for 4 years.
January 20, 2015 at 11:40 am in reply to: Finaly a statement from the irs about the "glitch" #4092973richardWell that was pretty informative.
JmacFiled 1/19 just accepted taxusa they are coming in now.
Samapparently it wasn’t just TT users.
http://alturl.com/ieazmSamThe IRS did not accept any returns before January 20. Your tax provider received your returned and held it until today.
AnonymousI filed on the 12th with Freetaxusa, I was accepted on the 14th. When I go to WMR nothing has changed, the orange bar is still on received & processing. I was hoping that when the 20th hit it would have changed :( Has anyone heard about different DDD? I seen on one site where they said the 3rd as a DDD but not sure with all the different dates going around. I guess if anything it’ll be here by the 5th
shareeI use Chase Liquid card and ive had mine deposit for since last year! very good card
No fees to use it but there is a 4.95 monthly charge but u can withdraw from all chase atms up to 500.00 and in person as much as you wantKristi HOkay I filed with turbo tax on 1/15 and it was in pending. So, in fear I was affected by the glitch, also filed using tax act.
I JUST got an email from tax act saying federal was rejected for primary SSN already being used.
Checked TT, still said pending, so I just went to the IRS2Go app (has where’s my refund built into it) and I show one orange bar, and it’s been accepted.
So, people with TT pending but no glitch? Check your WMR. Hopefully you’ll be pleasantly surprised too! Good luck!
DanI’m a “glitcher” with TT this year. I contacted them via FB and here’s the reply I received. “Sorry for the delay, Daniel. I have received your email and after looking into this further for you, it does appear that your tax return is one that is affected by this. However, there is no action necessary on your part. Your return will be automatically resubmitted on January 22nd or sooner.”
I then asked why we weren’t notified, will this delay my refund, what does “on the 22nd or sooner” mean, and how we will know that it has been resubmitted. This is their reply: “I completely understand your concerns and frustration, Daniel. I would like to sincerely apologize for the delay of information regarding this error. As of right now, this will not delay when you will receive your tax refund. Also, It is never a good idea to transmit two returns in a given tax year. I would like to reassure you that this will be taken care of and your tax return will get submitted to the IRS. The reason the date to be resubmitted is January 22nd or sooner, is because this is when the IRS expects to have the issue resolved so the return can be submitted successfully. You can stay up to date on the status of your return, by following the link below.”
ShareeI filed today with TT at 6:19 pst time and still waiting my acceptance! I file every year with TT so im not giving up hope just yet.
Just got text saying federal was accepted. Filed 1/19 on Taxact:)
RtbartonieSo sorry for your loss, my nephew was born stillborn as well. From what the CSR told her she could not claim the child. We could however, deduct medical and funeral expenses. As these were more than the standard deduction. Also if the child was alive long enough to obtain a social then possibly but since he was not alive when born it wasn’t possible. So sorry again for your loss. It’s not a easy thing to lose a child so hard. So sorry.
Michelle@Rebecca, my boyfriend and I both used freetaxusa. I have used them for the last 5 years. His was submitted and accepted on the 15th and I filed mine on the 17 and it was accepted this morning. I am in Texas if that makes any difference.
RITA AI WAS ACCEPTED ON THE 12 WITH TT I HAD ONE ONE BAR IT WENT MISSING LAST YEAR.. TAX TOPIC 152 AND EVERYTHING IS GONE.. WHAT HAPPEN
RtbartonieLooks like taxslayer is doing well so far most of the users got acceptance in the past hour or so. Looks like I’ll use them from no on no more TT .
RonSubmitted 1/17 with Tax slayer, accepted by IRS at 10 am 1/20
RebeccaWas just wondering if anyone who used freetaxusa had gotten any kind of update yet? Mines been submitted since the 15th but nothing as far as accepted or rejected and can’t file my state through them until an update is done
DeeI filed with TA 1/17. Accepted about a half hour ago. Good Luck!
RtbartonieUsed taxslayer filed on the Jan 18 th accepted about ten mins ago. I used TT for several years before but after the glitch last year and being in that 1121 code for early filers I was done with TT. Taxslayer no problems so far. Actually a happy for now.
StephHas anyone from the test batch received a dd day yet? I got my acceptance on 1/12/15.
Thecameron8Filed in 1/8 with TT
Accepted 1/12 with 1 bar
Bar went away on 1/15 and got “Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.”AnonymousI filed on 1/8 with turbotax they sent it to the IRS on 1/12 never accepted, still pending. I contacted turbotax customer service and she was absolutely no help.I refiled with taxact and was accepted today. I think the turbotax issue is them putting in that extra form that is not suppose to be in there.
EmilyI filed with HR block on the 17th and it’s still not accepted
MichelleMy return was accepted today, a few minutes ago….
NicoleWe filed through Taxslayer on the 12th and received the email about an hour ago that they were accepted.
christyStillborn child. You cannot claim an exemption for a stillborn child.
From the IRS Site and PUB 501 for dependencyI am so sorry to hear of your loss!
If your child was stillborn, you can not claim him/her as a dependent. Had s/he lived, even for a short time, you could have. But unfortunately, that is not the case if the child was stillborn.
You can choose to itemize and deduct eligible expenses (such as medical). However, most people do not have enough deductions when itemizing to be worth more than the standard deductions, thus it likely will not be beneficial for you to itemize but definitely consult someone for educated input.
YaminahGlad to see I’m not the only one. I filed with TT and the whole glitch fiasco is going on. I caked and they said if anything it will go out the 22nd but the IRS can take up to 48 hours to process so it would still be in in time to receive the 1/5 ddd. Hopefully this is accurate.
Mamaof6I efiled on 1/13 with TA. Nothing. Got a rejection TODAY from IRS; PIN # incorrect. Resubmitted. Nothing yet. Still waiting.
Still waiting… Files with TA on 1/19… Still waiting on acceptance….
YaminahHas anyone that was not accepted into a test batch gotten accepted today?
YaminahThis is where we can update each other on the progress of our returns since the opening of the IRS.
LaToiaYes you can. I was able to carry my son born 2 months early and passed away 15 mins after birth. I do taxes.
chynaI did mine on the 11th and was accepted on the 12th now I have one orange line
AnonymousI was told to resubmit my return on 1/22 and they promised to refund my fees I paid. This conversation took place 1/17 with Turbo Tax. I just received my refund of the fees I paid yesterday. It’s just a waiting game. I wasn’t trying to get accepted early but inquired with them due to my file date. Glad I did.
SentoiaI filed with taxact on 1/12 still not accepted
Filed my state on 1/17 still not accepted
When will they start accepting and is there a good chance I’ll get accepted today I’m usually one of the ones who gets accepted earlyBrianCorrect. You must enter the exact refund amount. Do not enter the amount after fees are taken out by H&R Block or wherever you filed.
kristenThere is a timeline floating around apparently from the IRS website I believe
NYCteachermomWhat I read on the IGMR facebook page
TurboTax I can’t apologize enough for any
confusion to this point. Our goal has
always been and will always be to make all
aspects of filing taxes as simple and easy
as possible.
I will do my best to be as clear as possible.
We identified an issue that affected some
returns. These returns were only the
following: 1040a claiming the Earned
Income Credit with two dependents or
more. Not those pieces independently, but
that specific situation only
The issue has resulted in many of these
specific returns being held in a pending
status until the update to correct them has
been deployed. This update is in the
process of being deployed and any
affected filers will be able to re-transmit
once completed on January 22nd
f you meet the situation described above
and your return is still pending, our agents
are more than happy to look into your
transmission record to verify the status of
your return via private message. We will
also do all that we can to make your
experience as spectacular as possible.
Dallas-
2 hours agoBradWe’re is that rumor started. Mine was accepted on the 12th still no ddd
Anonymous@Ashea0515 Is there somewhere I can see if my state will be offset
kristenI’m not sure how true this is but apparently anyone accepted by 11am on the 21st should be getting their did on Monday the 26th.
Tom@Keri
I’ve been in the same situation the past couple of years. Generally, your entire refund will initially be offset, then the injured spouse is processed, then they refund a part of it. Any straight income tax refund is yours, and a portion of any credits goes to you (EITC, Child Tax Credit). The other part of the credits goes towards the old loans.
Aaaand, on my end, still nothing from /last/ year’s taxes. Advocate didn’t return my call last week, so time for an angry call to her supervisor.
HopefulI filed today at 12:35 am crossing my fjngers..♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧
AshleybFirst , I’m deeply sorry and definitely understand your pain. I lost my daughter at 5 months , 2 and a half years ago and I was able to claim her on my taxes. When you file it ask if the person passed away that year. Sorry if it’s too personal but has the child recieved a ssn ? That makes the question easier to answer.
Kristi hI heard it takes roughly 2 to 3 months to process injured spouse. However I’ve never had to file this way, so that is just speculation. Good luck!
Kristi hOkay so you say by January 28 of this year? If so you may squeak by this year without an offset. They have to give the filer time to agree or disagree.
So, if that is the case, like I said this year you should be lucky, but if you do not pay it or make arrangements to pay and pay it out before next year, it will be offset then, with penalties and interest added
keriI hope so. How long is the usual wait time efiling. 11 weeks?
Kristi hAm I making it up or in years past, do I remember tax topic 152 being a good thing? If memory serves, when tax topic 152 shows up, it means the processing is almost complete, and on the next update you may receive a direct deposit date. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but that’s how I remember it.
Kristi hIf it is determined that all of the refund that would be given is yours, then after a little bit of a wait for them reviewing it, you should get all of your refund in full.
KeriI’m gonna be filing injured spouse this year. It’s on my husband’s student loans. We got payments set up but they still want to take it out of my refund. My husband didn’t work any last year so all money was, brought home by me. Does anyone know how much they’ll still take?
Kristi hIf your refund is over 10,000, it is best to do as one said and split your refund between two accounts. I personally use net spend and adore their service, but $10,000 is their limit, and you have to make sure if you’re filing jointly that your spouse is also on the account by faxing that information.
Kristi hIt’s tricky. If you file with your last paystub, yes the numbers can be different. Especially for monthly or biweekly workers, because some of their pay at the start of the year, is for work performed in the year before. Worst case scenario is the IRS will review it later on in the year, and if it causes you to owe money back you will.
Kristi hH and R block has a smaller batch of test batches. Most often, when you filed with H&R Block, you are accepted on opening day if you file early, not before. It’s very rare with them.
Kristi hLet me clarify that. It did not specifically say I had any tax debt. It said I had no nontax debt, but items are posted daily. In the past if you had a debt it would say your refund has been or will be offset, Which it did not say.
Kristi hOkay, I always check every year to see if we have an offset on our Social Security numbers. I had 2 offsets in the past 10 years, so I always check because the last one was not expected.
So, the new language says as of today, there are no non tax debts for your Social Security number.
So the new language throws me off.
If I had any sort of offset, it would be taxes. But the hotline does not say I have any tax debt and for certain, no non tax debt.
Should I take this to mean that we are okay this year, provided nothing shows up in the next few weeks?
Kristi hWith it being a holiday, I doubt it. The way I see it, be glad if we get accepted on opening day.
Kristi hCasey I just reread what you wrote. If you are listed on the federal treasury offset program hotline as having A debt, they are going to take it out of your federal.
Kristi hCasey, I’ve had that type of offset before. At first they will just deducted out of your state tax refund. But if the debt is larger than your tax refund, what will ultimately happen is they will offset your federal to cover what they haven’t been able to collect. If that were to ever happen, they simply take what they have to offset, and the rest is forwarded to you, with no delay. It’s not like in years past where you had to wait several weeks beyond
fiancee got rejected w/ TA on 13th for incorrect ssn for dependent, refiled same day still waiting to be accepted.
Kristi hOh, and a case anyone’s wondering, I’m not impatient. I filed with tax act, because I heard that TurboTax was having a glitch, and I wanted to avoid that if I was one of those in the glitch.
Kristi hI truly hope all of you early acceptance folks to get refunds quicker than they expect. I’m still in pending status with TurboTax so I also filed through TaxACT. It will just be a matter of which return gets there first, then the other one will reject.
Fortunately this year, I can wait on my refund, this is the first year that I’ve ever had all the documents ready before tax season started.
Kristi hFor example, I’ve had five miscarriages. But I was never allowed to claim the child as a dependent, because the children were not born and living.
Kristi hFirst off I’m extremely sorry for your loss. Unfortunately in terms of taxes, children are only counted as a deduction if they are living by December 31 of that tax year. You may be able to itemize the sales tax of the funeral, but as for being able to get any sort of earned income credit, You would not be able to.
tarasueI also filed on 1/9/2015 using TT and got a text saying accepted on 1/12/2015. Had the graphic bar on WMR up until the 14th or 15th and now it also just say’s Your refund is still being processed and a refund date will be provided when available. Hoping but the end of the week since the 20th is tomorrow!!!
AnonymousFiled tax act 1/16, accepted 1/16 per email from tax act. Checked WMR as soon as I read email (1/16). return accepted, one orange bar with my refund amount, and tax topic 152. I also reviewed some generic email from tax act about irs test batch and that just because I’m part of test batch my money will still not come until after 1/20 when official processing begins. Hoh, 3 children eic, schedule c. The only time I could not see all the above info of WMR was during their shut down. Btw, still can’t order transcripts, and in the past once I could order transcripts my return was done processing and ddd was given shortly after. Would appreciate any updates from any tax act filers after the official opening tomorrow. Good night all. Maybe we will wake up to ddd’s! Hey a girl can dream….
TamaraFiled 1/13/2015 accepted same day. Went through TurboTax had no fees so I don’t have to go through SBBT. I have the Netspend Premier card and recieved my Missouri refund today 1/19/2015. No updates on federal return yet.
