A few years back I had an issue with my refund I didn’t get a notice until May and I filed in January. It didn’t get a refund until September.

So I called the doe and my consolidation went thru and they removed the offset.. talk about in the nic of time…. they had informed me previously who ever pays them first loan company or irs they didn’t care even though I have been in consolidation process for almost 3 months. Day was made fine with waiting a week or even a month for my return now. Lol just happy I am getting it.

Wondering if anyone is or has gotten this response on their Oklahoma refund “Your return has been processed; however, your refund has not been approved” It has said this for two days now filed on 01/19 accepted 01/20. Wasn’t sure if this was a normal response that they are give or maybe there’s a problem.

I had my bar disappear as well. I filed on January 8th accepted on the 12th had bars on WMR stating that I had been accepted, then check on the 18th or 19th and no bars just a statement saying ” We have received your return and it is being processed and a direct deposited date will be provided when available.” Someone on here posted a link to a video stating that we are under review. I check the IRS website under frequently asked questions and they address this problem as the same thing that because our bars disappeared we are under review. Their are so many people who have lost their bar I am not sure if it is a glitch or what. Has any one that has bars missing tried to pull up their Tax transcripts and see if anything more then just the 2014 Wages and income transcript is present. The transcript link is located on the IRS home page. If you get any information can you let me know what you see. Thank you.

I have no idea, I had my taxes done through a tax preparer and When i went to go check mine this week it wasnt working it said my information was incorrect. I got in contact with someone and they gave me the correct amount and when i checked it today its says ddd 1/27.

In regards to offset for student loans, if you haven’t filed your taxes yet, DON’T! We were offset twice for student loans, the first time we lost the full return, the second time we called the collection agency who had the loan and started to rehabilitate it. We requested a delay in filing our returns for 2012 tax year and were given until October to file. In the meantime we got our student loans out of default so we were able to get our full tax return. We started the payments in February and had to make 9 consecutive payments in order to be considered out of default. We were able to make a double payment for our 8th and 9th together. They have to allow you a reasonable payment that you can afford and if they say you have to put a large sum down, you don’t. We told them sorry we can’t afford it and they worked with us to pay I believe 109.00 a month. We were finally out of default status in early November and paper filed them (the efile system isn’t available at that time) and our returns were direct deposited the first or second week of December.

The irs is saying topic 152 usually occurs when your about to get approved . Also lots of peoples bars have disappeared but not to worry its a glitch you will still get your money

Some people like me have just never had this kinda issue or this status on there so it worries me.

I had to file injured spouse last year. I would recommend getting an advocate if there is a reason you need it sooner than the 14 weeks they say it can and probably will take. If he did not work then all of the return is yours, but if you file injured spouse it takes a long long time! Some will tell you to file married filing separate, this is ok if you don’t take the EIC, but, if you do want that you have to file together. Otherwise you won’t get EIC if you file separate.

JimMorrison you are really rude. Why the name calling? If its bothering you that much about people saying the 6th just leave the forum. There’s no need for the name calling.

If you can show good cause why the IRS should not take the offsets out they will give you the refund money back. You have to file paperwork along with evidence why. The one year I had an offset my car needed some serious work, I sent them the repair estimate and they gave me the amount of the repair. It may have helped that we were in a natural disaster area, but it is always worth a shot.

I also had problems with the phone system and different reps not being able to find out whether I had an upset. Don’t rely on these things. If the IRS sent you a letter telling you owe money and it will be removed from your refund if you haven’t already paid, bet on it. They don’t magically go away.
