i claimed them i haven’t physically received them but h&r block has my refund on 1/31 to be released to my emerald card tomorrow morning. Filed 1/26 accepted 1/26 Transcripts with 846 on the 28th Wmr showing approved on 2/29 still on approved but in past years it has always showed sent 2-3 days after it hit my card

@pooh pooh So she saw 971/570 and not 896??? Yet you see 570/896 and not 971???? I can’t even begin to explain how that is possible.

As for the transcripts, no, they don’t only update once a week. People on daily cycles have their transcripts come available multiple days per week. Your transcripts become available as your return is beginning to be processed, and continue to update until complete, and post to a cycle, for example 20150402, which is what most 896/570’s are in. There haven’t been any updates in a few days currently because as I said Friday was a deferred day and Saturday and Sunday aren’t posting days. So the next possible day for info to post to transcripts will be tonight. WMR still won’t reflect anything new until Wednesday though, except for people who are new acknowledgements, and some may continue to lose bars.

This is all I have on WMR, I had to send in additional information from my 1095A (healthcare form). I faxed the information requested how long is it going to take to process that and update my WMR or give me my money. I am beyond frustrated with this tax year so far.

@pooh pooh The only places those codes show up in on your transcript. She can’t pull your transcript without your permission. She does have your permission as your preparer, to call the IRS and discuss your account on your behalf. When does she claim that she saw the 971, like I just told Niki0402, if this has been reported as showing up on Friday or Today, you wouldn’t see it yet.

@Niki0402 When did you call? Today?? It would be possible for her to see a 971 that you can’t IF it has shown up since Friday. Transcripts have not updated since late Thursday into Friday because of the IRS have a deferred day on Friday. New stuff will start posting to transcripts tonight, and if they issued you a notice, you’ll see it show up on your Transcript.

i talked to lady at irs this morning she said it could take up to 21 days i said i filed on 1/25 in people who filed on 26/27/28 are getting there ddd or money this week so whats the hold up she said it depends on what u have as filed like eic dependents etc etc

I just spoke to a lady at ftb and she told me whenever your amount differs from what it does on your taxes, like because an offset, you are mailed a paper check. But good thing is, they say it’s within two weeks of your authorized date

@whathappened @Nikki – I had no changes this year other then the healthcare penalty, and no I can’t see the 971 code on my transcript. I called the IRS today and told them I had a 1121 on my WMR (I don’t, had 1 bar and TT 152 since I was accepted on the 21st) and that WMR said I needed to call. She explains that it can be an issue so she pulls up my info and asked if I had seen my transcripts. I told her yes and she said “So you can see the 570 and then the 971 below that?” . I said no I only see the 896 which is for the healthcare and the 570. She said “OK so you cant see the 971, well that probably because that code is mostly for us.” She said it wasn’t a big deal and that is was directly related to the healthcare penalty but because of the issues with the system this year I was going to see a 1-3 weeks delay due to the penalty.

I’m hoping its just a letter sent explaining what was taken out but I still worry ya know? Has anyone else around here mentioned anything about something like that? Anyway I have to run, Hope I answered the questions. I have to go meet the bus.

@pooh pooh They randomly do reviews from time to time, with no basis, other than that’s how they weed out some cases of fraud, and innocent, honest people get delayed because of it. As for the 971, yes if they have already issued and sent you a notice, you would see it on the transcript.

I was accepted on 1/30 at 8 AM but I don’t expect an update until at least Thursday. I am just cautious because this is the first year I was self employed. I am hoping it doesn’t put a hold on things and make it harder for us to get our money.

@cmonnnnn Yes. You may have a 570 because the healthcare penalty, HOWEVER, it can also be because of EIC or something else they may want to question or review. If you have 896/570 and are 100% certain you have no other offsets, past tax debts, and you didn’t claim any other refundable credits, such as EIC, than your 570 is being cause by the health care issues only. But if you fall into one of those other categories, your 570 may mean something completely different.

Amazonuser, Are you saying hold is being placed on those who used the service to purchase Amazon Cards AND paid fees through them as well could be affected? Or could it also affect those who only used the service to pay their tax fees?

Filed 1/30 accepted at 7:30am 1/30 (crazy how fast acceptance was this year). No transcript available yet, WMR still at 1 bar. I was looking at a refund cycle chart and hoping I got my return in before the 2/4 DDD, fingers still crossed. Last year my refund came before I ever got an update on WMR.
I Heard through the grapevine that WMR truly only updates 1 a week, I don’t know how much truth is to that but we shall see.

@*ty* I understand what you are saying and wouldn’t take you as being ignorant. I try to only offer up facts that are able to be backed up, for example things in the manual. I don’t promise to be 100% correct all the time, but I also won’t share something that makes no sense, or a rumor that can’t even remotely be proven because its just hearsay. I don’t have any secret source, or someone on the inside. I do however have a pretty good understanding of what I have read, and feel very confident in wmr updates and money this week. We are suspecting that if you use TT Refund processing service to pay TT fees, or took advantage of amazon bonus refund, you will likely subject to 570 hold which means delayed refund or worse, an audit.

If you changed your name during the tax year due to marriage, divorce, etc, and followed the proper steps prior to filing, you should be good. The IRS gets it name and social security number information from the Social Security Administration. If you have recently changed your name associated with your SSN, you should allow at least 10 days before filing a tax return to allow enough time for the SSA to update your information with the IRS.

What is this “cycle” I keep hearing about?
– Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:
01 = Friday
02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = Thursday

Why don’t I see a cycle code?
– If you don’t see a cycle code on your transcript it’s because it has not yet been processed completely and you are most likely being resequenced.

What does resequenced mean?
– When your return gets processed it is done automatically by computer. Occasionally there can be a glitch or problem with it in which case it fails to process and needs to be reprocessed. When this happens it is “recycled” to be processed the next cycle(The next week).

How do I know if I’m daily processing or weekly?
-Without looking at past data there’s no way to know. You can look at your past cycle codes and see if they all end in 05. If they do, you’re most likely weekly. Weekly processing happens thursday nights/Friday morning. Only the IRS can tell you for sure (Not that they will though).

The IRS said I’m under review! Why!?
– In accordance to the IRS manual, any tax payer calling in before the time frame for processing has expired will be told to wait. If you continue to push they may just tell you that you’re under review.

– This is likely due to inactivity. It should update the next time your return updates.

Why are other people getting their money before me? I filed before them!
– Not only can there sometimes be issues where a return needs to be reprocessed, some peoples returns can happen faster for a number of reasons. They could be on a daily cycle while you are on a weekly. Also, in the past, refunds under a certain amount(Used to be $1000) would skip a step while processing and allow you to get your refund quicker.

@nikki0402 Do you have any other codes besides 896/570?? I see you say a 971, that means they issued you a letter, and sending it to you, you likely should of received it by now or very soon. What else did you claim?? EIC by chance? Had any major changes this past year? Change in job/income, ,change in marital status, change in dependents??

I have a offset and it keeps saying it could be offset ? Transcripts don’t show it and I for a DDD for the 4th wouldn’t the hotline update and say that they were taking it that day already ?
