@Elizabeth The part about box 5a and 5b came from the online thread. Apparently someone had this same issue last year and it was that box 5a was blank when both 5a and 5b should’ve been filled in — which is exactly my issue this year. They said it resolved itself within a week with a 571 and the return transcript updated with 5a filled in. Line 5 may not be applicable in your case if both 4a and 4b are filled in; they may just be verifying the calculations.

@Elizabeth My co-workers and I were talking about how unusual this tax season is going and I mentioned the 570 issue. All 4 of us withdrew from our 401k for the first time last year after a company merger so we all filed with a 1099-R this year and we all have a 570 (one has a 971 as well). I did some online searching and came across a whole thread of folks in the exact same boat so it can’t just be a coincidence with the 401k folks.

@quinnby the IRS already released it. They are not going to send an ACH the night before or it will not make it to your account on the DDD. The bank that handles the filing fees already have the $ and they are the ones that release it on the DDD

F 1/28 A 1/29 Pather 05 weekly. Transcripts updated Friday w/570. As of changed to 3/4. processing date/570 date also. @lmc849 thanks for the info. I have a 1099r. I checked 1040 form & yup 5a is blank. I have an amount on line 4b & luckily 4a is filled. How did you know that’s the reason for your 570? account details changed today on my irs account. friday it said 0.00, now it’s back to the plus sign next to 2023

Ppl are saying the same thing about Chime and SBTPG but I’m not going to believe it or worry about it til that happens. This will be my third tax season with Chime and SBTPG and last I checked, banks aren’t in the habit of rejecting ACH transfers. Good luck to all!!!!

Go to their FB page and look in comments under the scam post/ Twitter page as well they’ve spoken on it. I was told they’re sending them back. They’re telling everyone different things. Alls you can do is wait until your DDD then see of it comes.

I filed and accepted 2-1 with TT, same credits as you, fees taken out of refund. My Transcripts are blank, but have 2023 on the bottom 2, no notices… we’ll probably see an update on Thursday 😊 although last year we got our refund before anything updated 🤷‍♀️

If you need an advance you need an advance if you don’t get it until the ddd then so be it but you will get it on that date just don’t get anxious about getting it early I don’t check until the ddd is here because it’s to stressful. Just check it the mourning of the ddd and it will be there just keep not in your head that it’s soon. Just think some people don’t have ddd yet even so if you have one just be happy you have one and everything will be ok

hey when i log into my irs account it has (!) on account balance for 2023 . it says info is not abai for this year the rest of my years say $0.00 owed. i also. have had 152 768 570 code on bottom of my transcripts since last week. this week friday and saturday there was no movement on transcript or wmr it just showin path message. today i signed into irs account and it now shows account balance for 2023 as $0.00 . but my transcript still the same…. So today I logged into my transcript account and seen that 2023 say 0.00 owed. It use to have 2023 with the plus sign next to it and when you click the + sign it sad refund not processed yet “something like that” don’t knock me I can’t remember word for word, but it wasn’t processed but now it is … I pray it’s a good sign

Not sure why my comment was moderated but…did any of you file with a 1099-R for an early retirement withdrawal? I did and I just stumbled across a thread of folks with a 570 that did the same. Apparently box 5a on our form 1040 should have the same amount as box 5b but some tax software companies were leaving box 5a blank — which is what has happened in my case; only box 5b has an amount. Should be an easy fix!! Just wanted to shed some possible light for anyone in the same boat as me.

I been doing turbo tax for years. You will get it midnight the 21st going into the 22nd no matter if you got advance or not. As soon as the IRS releases it you get it dats flows quick so if you got advance it will take it instantly if no advance still the same thing. Don’t let people lie to you on here. If you are lucky you might get it the 20th but stop worrying yourselves it will be there.

Nicole, if you did the refund advanced or you had fees taken out, your money doesn’t come from IRS to you directly. It 1st goes to SBTGP, which has your refund advanced and / or fees taken out. Also, they don’t release till they have been funded the money which causes the delays.

What if you got denied for the advance, so didn’t receive an advance; would you receive money earlier than DDD 02/22? Or does it still count as getting an advance so you have to wait until DDD?

Well, I just checked my account again this morning. Before, I had an exclamation point by taxes owed for 2023. Now, this showed up.

So last night I googled if we can still get the refund early if we got the advance and had fees taken out and it brought me to a page thru credit karma stating that you can either get the Advance or you get your refund 5 days early.. one or the other but if you do the advance you are ineligible for the 5 day early refund. 😞 Maybe we can still be eligible for 2 days early ? 🤷🏻 Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

There are a lot of people that still see just n/a. It typically just means your return has not been fully processed yet. Something could have happened to push you into the next cycle. I would look for an update in the next cycle. There are some other threads with people who filed the same day if you want to compare their progress.

I’m following… I also spoke with a Chime agent who said they was going to send my refund back to SBTPG so I created a case with SBTPG providing my ID and different bank direct deposit slip asking them to change my account before they receive it from the IRS, My DDD is 02/22/24 so I’ll try to reach out to someone Tuesday.

If you haven’t received a letter then likely not, you may have not been caught up in the first batch of updates. There was another post that explained it in detail. Essentially, you get dropped in a bucket and pulled in no specific order for processing. So we should see more updates by Wednesday.

I finally heard back from a chime rep last night. I wish I could post the screenshot but it comes up with some kind of weird symbols. L, o, l, they inform me that they are accepting all deposits even from Santa Barbara tax group. As far as when you get your money. I have never gotten it any earlier than Wednesday the day before. Generally I usually get it on Thursday night. For some reason my taxes always come on Thursday.

Hi I’m apart of the 570 with 0.00 with the March 4 date as well . I guess this date is the date they supposed to solve the issue, which I don’t know what it is. I’m weekly so I only updates on Friday. Cycle code 20240605..I filed on 1/29 and accepted on 1/29. On Friday the 570 appeared. On WMR I have the delayed message. So after several researches thru social media I have found that this rumor is outdated and several chat reps from chime are clearly still using this outdated form. This was mentioned 2 years ago by various FB users. But IK for a fact I got my refund from SBTPG. I also spoke to chime rep and they confirm they are accepting deposits from tpg so I think it’s all bs. It’s like the church monger’s saying this is the end of the world speech.
