I had an offset. wheres my refund said my refund was sent jan 30th. the next day i checked again and wheres my refund said they were taking my all of my refund but $289. my refund was supposed to be $6,766. The state took the remaining $289. my offset was child support which i am current on. also i checked on the student loan i owe and the amount owed for that was only $2,000. What do i do can I appeal this? Also when i checked on my student loan i owe there were all these extra charges from the IRS. they charged me for collecting the debt owed and all these other absurd charges ive never heard of! Can they do that? Ive been trying to contact the IRS about this but can never get anywhere?
Update…Filed and accepted 1/20 through TT. Received my letter requesting copies of my 1095-A and 8962 on 2/9. Faxed info to the IRS on 2/10. As of this afternoon (2/24), I am FINALLY able to view all my transcripts for the first time with the 846 code. Hopefully WMR will update tonight with a DDD. Going off of the research I have done, I should get my refund around 3/2 (fingers crossed).

Also if that was the case my transcripts wouldnt have updated with everything and the 570 ,806 code etc…
i have hda the 570 code for 12 days now..you think i shall have an update soon?filer2014 no need to re call them to re verify unless its something to ease ur mind.. since u verified u should be 1-2 weeks out

i recieved a 5071c letter dated feb 18th today. I had already verified myself on feb 6th and was able to view trancripts with everything and also the 570 hold code.
should i call them and verfiy myself again?the 570 codes on my transripts for 12 days now. the transcripts had 000s earlier. let me knowHey again, Bart. I received letter cp05 today, ‘we’re finishing reviewing your return, you don’t need to do anything right now, etc’. I was accepted 1/20… My refund amount came back on wmr this past weekend though. How long am I looking at, and is there anything I can do to speed the process along?

Is there a way to tell if you need to id verify Without calling And sitting on hold forever. I hear many people saying they have code 570 or whatever that need to on their transcripts. I don’t have that code.
My taxes were offset by US Dept of Education but my loan has been rehabilitated. They are processing a refund. Has this happened to anyone? If so, how long did it take?
So I’m just in review and don’t need to call? Cause sitting on hold for hours with the irs isn’t something I’d like to do.
It’s me again I didn’t sign in. I guess the lady I spoke to the first time didn’t know what she was talking about cause I called back again only to be told that I was indeed in review. Confused, I hung up and called back again to get a self-proclaimed IRS vet who said that there was no way that they were going to release my refund before April(IDK what happened to contacting my school and my employer as the letter stated. I’m too pissed to be sad right now. I just know its coming….A few long weeks from now
bellausc if you just verified expect another 2-4 week delay before u get the money… the 000 mean ur trasnscript was frozen and not post able
shafeqah no letter is good news because that means they are not requesting anything… i would hang in thereu have to be close to some kind of update
patently waiting that is actually good news ur not under review at least… that also means if it went to that department and they kicked it out because u dont belong there then u should def have an update soon…. so u are real close

the yetty means that the return kicked out of the system and they had to re put you in changing the cycle date of when u were orginally acepted
chris yes they will eventually but they will try to verify what ever they need to on thier end with in 45-60 days
My ddd was 2/11 and I never received it and have codes 846 841 and 971 on my transcript. I hear a lot of people talking about id verifying but they all seem to have the code 570 which I don’t have. will the irs send me a letter in the mail telling me I need to do so? Or is there a code or anything on my transcript that shows up if I need to? Or am I just under the random review category?

I finally spoke with IRS they stated that my refund was sent to the bankruptcy centralized department. After a post I had posted before I explained to you that I had been discharged last year and that there was a 522 code listed on my transcript. You informed me that they were just trying to see if I owed anymore debt. They couldn’t really understand why I waited past my 21 days I explained to them I was just trying to be patient lol.You were correct they had it held because of that but there was a mistake it should have never been sent to that department. The rep told me that everything will update by the end of the week and if I opted for direct deposit I should get it within a week. I guess what I am asking will their be a light at the end of this tunnel and when do you think I will receive the updated information as well as my refund dd. Thanks
Bart finally spoke with someone from the irs….identified my identity ; they removed the block from my account….i viewed my transcripts today all i saw was 000 and an of date that said 3/2/15 what does this mean?????
oh and btw , my transcripts still has the cycle code 20150402
Hi Bart. Just a quick update. I’ve had the 1121 reference code going on 2 weeks now. My transcript still has the 841- refund cancelled code on it. When I called, I’m not in idverify and the guy said it was randomly pulled for a review. He said they would send a paper out telling me whats going on and it will take up to 60 days until im reprocessed. I havent gotten a letter in the mail yet and its going on 2 weeks. Is this a good thing ?
Sorry Bart….wanted to remind you there are NO other codes except the 846 refund issued and 841 Refund cancelled codes. :(

I FINALLY got through the the TPP and verified today, after an hour and 15 minute hold time. The lady told me that it would take 6 weeks from today to process. It was already processed with an 846 code. Will it really be 6 more weeks? Any clue?

i was accepted on the 3rd (2/3) but when i called them they said i was resequenced and was accepted on the 9th .whats this actually mean ?

Kristen they are giving u excuses and yes they are behind. sometimes there is a problem with a return and cant be processed electronically… this usually takes 4 weeks
Jessica that’s because it will be released midnight tonight,., and that’s the cycle date (latest date in the cycle) ignore that and go with 2/25
waynecorp yes they are looking to see if u owe from not reporting all income from 2013.. if you did well they are still looking at it.. I don’t think it is an error I would keep calling… or wait 1-2 more weeks
drew only way is to call or try idverify.irs.gov if it tells u to call cause it couldn’t verify u online with out asking you questions to verify ur identity U are not in ID verify department
I been watching this blog for about 3 weeks because I am in the same boat as everyone hear I file on Jan 20 and was accepted the same day waiting my 21 days and my tax agent telling me everything was ok when it wasn’t got my letter on Feb. 12 and faxed my papers in on the 13th. I called the irs and they told me the couldn’t tell me anything just I should have my refund in 4-8 weeks. My question is “will it really take that long?”I want give u the sad bah bah story but I need my money like 2 months ago lol. Please everyone keep updating ur situations. And if anyone has received a refund after this problem posted amount of time it took to receive it.
Oh yeah I tried to order transpcrits today and it said not available.

wow fedupwithirs that’s terrible . wish you luck on that , but couldn’t that be also because you filed with turbo tax? i did see something in the new about a lot of identity theft and fraud returns with turbo tax.
Hi Bart :). I called the irs again today as I am now at day 25. This time the lady said they have our return but it’s un-processable and that they are working To get it in their system. The first 2 times I called they said it was a glitch between turbo tax and the Irs. When I told her there is no glitch she said they just can’t get my return in their system. This is so frustrating! Are they just behind and this is an excuse they are giving me?? Thank you!

Another morning of disappointment. Accepted my return 2/6. It seems as if I am in the same boat as some of you. On Wheres My Refund? the bars have disappeared. I guess i went from 1 bar to 0 bars *tear*. So i don’t know what this means, but i do plan on calling the IRS on Friday if this crazyness continues. Again 2/6 accepted, 1 bar disappeared and now I’m greeted with this message:
“Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.”
Also all my transcripts are unavailable (N/A) for 2014.
Filed 1/11. accepted 1/12. Injured spouse received 1/20. Wmr never updated once. Trans updated 1/30 funds intercepted by non federal debt, trans updated again 2/6 reversal of debt applied to non federal debt, refund issued. cycle code 20150605. Called treasury yesturday check was mailed yesturday 2/23, WMR still has we have received your return and it is being processed. Once they process your return i think they just move on to the next one and update like a week or two later on wmr.
***UPDATE*** After about a month of waiting all of my transcripts finally updated this morning with the 846 and the cycle code of 20150802. It’s also showing that the refund is being issued 03-16-15. Of course I called about 3 times a day since I received my letter and faxed the info back at the beginning of Feb
I can only assume that it’s because I am claiming my ex husband as a dependent. He is disabled but unable to get disability yet, so he made under $3k, so not required to file a return, I supported him all year. They may want to make sure he doesn’t file a return, I don’t know but they shouldn’t shuffle our returns to the bottom of the pile. If they have worked on it then they should work on it until it’s done, not give it to someone else.
I know that it is way early, but I thought I would go ahead and start a topic for us 2/21er’s to have a place to go and get info. So that way we can track how our cycle is going,

Not happy, nothing I can do. I did find out the letter is generic and just a buy for time. If anyone gets one check the code next to 4464c and if it reads a 0 then they aren’t actually checking into a specific thing. A tax preparer said out of 33 he filed for 19 have received 4464c letters. He also said that is unheard of. Well, no reason to hang around I guess. I’ll probably be back March 16 to say whether it has a happy ending or not.
Yes the date next to 570 is when the hold comes off.
So I found out a bit about this years 4464c letter that I and a million others received. It’s a buy for time basically. If you get one, look in the corner by the 4464c and it’ll have a code for what they’re checking out in your return. Mine and a lot of others say 0. A tax preparer said zero means they aren’t actually checking anything, they just want 60 days extra with being short staffed right now. He also said out of 33 people he filed for, 19 got 4464c letters with zeros. He said that is unheard of and with them being short staffed they are all NOT in review really.
Man I hope he’s right. My transcripts have read zeros for 2 weeks now, not even a code for letter sent. That’s what makes me feel like these are just computer generated messages that it sends when they want more time.
Hello, I’ve been reviewing this page since I stumbled on it attempting to gain some insight to my Tax delay this year. I’m in the state of GA, filed and was accepted on 2/13 through TaxAct. Initially, I was able to see accepted with 1 bar on WMR. As of 2/17 – no bars and the generic your refund is being processed with Topic 152 displayed.
Upon seeing so many comments online about requesting transcripts, I attempted to retrieve mine on 2/20; however I received a message stating that “unable to provide. Please call IPSU..”
2/20 – I spoke with an irs rep (took me 2 hours to get some1) and they advised there were no issues that they could see and to continue checking the WMR site. If any codes appear, then give them a call. The rep really didnt provide any concrete info about why I couldnt receive a transcript or the IPSU notification. The questions she asked were general.
Still no updates…although as of 2/21 I noticed the site showed the amount on the WMR site, yet no bars and now no Topic 152.
Also, I’d like to add that my state has not been approved and they have requested that I send my W2’s along with proof of loss from schedule C.
I have a DDD of 2/25, a cycle date of 20150705 but my 846 code date says 03-09-2015. What does this mean?! WMR just says approved and not refund sent. My bank has nothing pending! Very confused!
Do they really think no one will be able to tell it’s all the early filers with the 570 & 971’s? My sister filed 1/21 and has 2 570’s and the 971. She had a new baby and they claim they want to check the validity of said baby. Well that’s a quick shot to SS, so why a ridiculous hold up? She has the identical codes I see on a lot of you early filers 806 766 570 570 971 I think….
I filed 2/6 and watched all 2/6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and so on all get their money, but not me of course. Yesterday I got a 4464c letter but it doesn’t have the code of what they’re looking into, it just has a zero. The letter just says we are reviewing we don’t need anything from you….. Unless we do. Sit tight 60 days.
A tax preparer said if they’re really looking at your specific stuff it’ll have a code in the upper right next to the 4464c. Mine is zero, so no code like a million others this year that got the letter. The tax guy said he did 33 people’s taxes and 19 got a 4464c letter. He said that’s absolutely unheard of and it’s just to buy them time. He said he can be sure not all are really under review.
Were any of yours the 4464c? If so, look for the code, or lack of code I should say. You want to see a zero next to it. I hope this might ease someone else’s mind, it eased mine a little when I found out the computer is sending them out in droves. It’s auto generated by their computers.
Edited to add… My transcripts are all zeros and no codes, not even for letter sent. I don’t get it at all.

I found something out about the 4464c letter. If there’s no code number in the right top corner next to the code 4464c, then they aren’t reviewing anything, just buying time basically. Mine has a zero next to that and so does a lot of peoples, but if they’re actually checking stuff it’ll have the code of what they’re checking. It’s just a computer generated message.

I was assigned a tax advocate and submitted a copy of my last paystub from 2014 and proof that i have some bills that need to be paid now. Sill waiting to hear something…i even left a message to ensure she received the materials but there was response.
Anybody had any luck with the TAs and if so, how long did it take for you to see something happen with your return/refund
I had the same thing happen to me. They most likely will want a copy of your W2. Your return has been processed already but they will not apply any taxes that you paid them until you provide them a copy of your w2. In the meantime, you will receive a bill for them indicating that you owe them taxes. Once they receive your w2, your taxes will sit in quene until they can revise it. Once they revise it, they will adjust your taxes withheld. If they owe you money back, you get a refund.
My state taxes were accepted 02/01. Sent them my W2 on 2/09. Spoke to many reps and supervisor before I was given detailed information about their processes. As of today 02/24 they have not worked any faxes received prior to 02/09. I am waiting for the supervisor to call me back to inform me of what date they are working. Hopefully this will help those that are still waiting on their Ga state refund.
