Hi all! 1st time filing any state taxes. Had to wait until 1/31/24 to file w/ TT for partial yr resident. I got accepted to a test batch this year. I was so excited until I realized I still have PATH act. I feel like Im ahead though. My transcripts are populated and one bar on wmr. I hope I can keep the momentum until Feb 15. Blessings to you! Hope we get it in a flash !

I have an adjustment of 2300 added to my credits in my transcripts and 3 of 4 are available online now it seems I will receive 02/19 processing date instead of 02/12 which was my as of date last week. I have codes 150 tax due , 766 the new ACTC credit I wasn’t expecting and 768 my original credit amount. My cycle is 20240503. My address updated on my transcript and it says Feb 1 2024 $0 due when i log in online. I filed TT paid fees upfront and did not apply for advance loan.

The House bill passed at around 6 pm. We need to be careful about saying the CTC passed without clarifying that it was just a bill in The House. The news doesn’t even do a good job at this. Both chambers of Congress need to pass for the changes to become law. After that the P needs to sign (I have no doubts he won’t) and then the next hurdle is IRS implementing how it will be applied.

Let’s all keep in mind, that the bill is not an increase to the CTC. It is an increase to the amount that is refundable. The calculation for multiple children is significantly changed, but not for 1 dependent. So if someone is already receiving max refundable with 1 dependent, they will see no change.

Further, once it reaches the Senate, it could be changed and marked up with more changes… before ever going to the Senate floor.

Just trying to set expectations.

So apparently my state is being sent directly to my H&R block emerald card. It was issued the 29th. I have a weird situation this year where my state was accepted through H&R block and my federal accepted through JH. The rep said they usually take fees from the federal return so not sure how this is going to work out with SBTG. So I’m hoping my state gets to my emerald card today/tomorrow. I’ll update when I receive it.

I filed 1/29 at 8am EST with TT and my federal refund has still not been accepted. I’m usually accepted within minutes. There is no record of a tax return filed on the IRS side. Anyone else still waiting? I’m not sure what to do or if this is fine.

Your best course of action would be to file an amended return after it’s been processed. I don’t know if they can stop the process now that it’s been accepted.

So in December I tried to get a tax refund advance through this company online, not paying attention to the fact it said I must file with them if I complete the application. Upon completing the application it only asked for my pay stub.. So I finished and uploaded my docs. I got an email saying I could not continue without having my W2s.. I left it alone. I got my W2s on 1/19/2024 I filed with cash app.. they were rejected for already being filed !! Taxnet filed my taxes without having my W2!!!!! my refund is now $500 less than it would have been if my w2 was used instead of my last paystub…. they also charge $578 !!!! I have no idea if there is anything I can do!!!!! HELP please.

I’ve had a week turnaround in previous years.
Wisconsin has a new system and when I completed the form the refund they gave me was before they took out what I owe for taxes. I called DOR and the rep said to go ahead and file, they will correct it on their end. I hope that’s not code for, yours will definately take 8-12 weeks.

Yes, its taken this long for me the past few years. Last year and the year before I received my direct deposit 5 days before my WMR even updated. My cycle code has always had an 05 the last few years as well, meaning I dont even see any kind of update until Fridays ( once a week )

Checking the IGMR Tax Calendar, the pattern indicates that transcript updates broadly happen on Tuesdays (though not *all* happen on Tuesdays). For me, that meant that there was an N/A (no 2023 line) under “Account Transcript” Tuesday night, but Wednesday morning I have a 2023 line there now.
It’s largely blank, but I’m seeing progress. So yay!

Hey, everyone. I completed my taxes on the 16th, then on the 18th I received a text from TT saying my return was accepted in 1/18. Just a day later WMR updated and it said they received my return and it is processing. So, I’ve just been patient and assumed maybe I was accepted into the test batch, which doesn’t effect me much bc I have to wait for mid Feb regardless bc I receive both EITC and CTC, so Saturday I checked WMR and it now says something about to protect me from identity theft my return is being reviewed. So, I made a new account through ID.me on the IRS website to check if any letters have been sent and to check my transcripts. We’ll, my transcripts haven’t updated, it is saying that 2023 taxes aren’t processed yet, and no letters have been sent from the IRS. I even called the IRS and they wouldn’t pull my account up, but told me if I can’t verify my previous years returns then there is nothing for me to do but wait for it to process and they just started accepting on the 29th, so I just have to wait and ignore what WMR says. Anyone heard of this or dealt with tjis? Any help will be great!!! TIA!!!

Goodmorning Marylanders, has anyone here or seen anything about Maryland not processing returns until Feb 5th because of a update from 1/30 to 2/5. I looked in the Comptroller site and it said that they wouldn’t have access to process refunds during the update. Well, I just realized that I have the EIC/EITC credit, (no kids-just lower income this year, so the credit was applied, which I just found out after checking my return on TaxSlayer), So, I am beginning to think that I was accepted early on Jan 22nd but because of the EIC/EITC, my return was thrown back in line since that credit delays refunds until after Feb 15th. I will keep everyone posted.

CTC is not held up by the IRS. The Additional tax credit and Earned Income tax credit are held til Mid February. The information regarding CTC is on Irs website stating so and this website as well.
