UPDATE: Had nothing pending all day and then I just checked it a minute ago and it’s in my checking account now so I was right about it just skipping the pending part and just showing up when it was ready. Cheers! I hope everybody gets their money in a timely manner.
My sister has 2 kids but it shows only $600 pending in her online banking.
I use my local credit union and so far nothing pending, though I doubt everybody will get theirs the very next day and they have up until the 4th of January. I obviously used direct deposit for my return so im expecting it rather quickly compared to people getting mailed checks. Also when I got my last stimulus nothing was pending it was just sent automatically into my account. I still think $600 is peanuts but ill take anything right now.
Just checked my online banking for shits and giggles and have 1200 pending so if anybody is wondering if people are really getting money it’s true

You ID verified a week after us so I would say one more week and you get your DDD. Just stay positive and hopeful you’ll get it

Around 2/16/20 went from Processing one bar to losing bars and saying “Still being processed”
3/7/20 received ID verify letter, had to wait until monday because the 7th was on a Saturday
3/9/20 Successfully ID verified by phone
3/12/20 WMR status changed from “Still being processed” to “We have received your tax return and it is being processed”Hasn’t changed since
I haven’t heard of anybody waiting longer than a few weeks after being ID verified unless they got another letter on the way. We SHOULD be getting an update this Saturday … if we don’t then im going to go ape shit. Please update this thread with your transcript on Friday so we know if it’s happening or not.
Millions of people already got refunds I can’t imagine them not processing the rest because that would be unheard of
Good portion of the IRS is closed down due to corona so that might account for that.
We about to be in April filed and accepted 2/21 IDV 3/16 went from still to being processed ppl days later. I’m not sure if that means much anymore with everything going on
It means it’s back into processing which isn’t very uplifting news but if you don’t get another letter then at least you know it’s just a matter of waiting.
Some people got a DDD from this Saturday when they verified on like 3/2/20 which is about 20 days. For people who verified 3/9 our up to 20 days ends next Saturday so im expecting a DDD on the 28th. If we still don’t get a DDD then yeah something else is wrong

I so tired of checking I finally sentnsomething to congress. I verified 3/9. Maybe next week. SmhJesse got DDD in 20 days starting 3/2/20, so by next Saturday it will be 20 days for us that verified 3/9/20. If we don’t see something by next Saturday we got fucked over.

Congrats! I seriously hope the people that verified 3/9 will be getting a DDD soon.
If it says “Still being processed” your either under review, missing information that they require, or you need to ID verify. Basically it’s a long wait and the IRS isn’t going to do much but just tell you to wait for a letter to arrive in the mail.
That’s why for years I’ve only ever used the free edition from them and never had a problem, TurboTax definitely fucked over a lot of people this year and im never using their service again. Lesson learn for people don’t buy premium services from sites that will e-file for you such as TT.

No update for me since Thursday the 12th. Another lady who’s just like me filed same day updated with DD 3/18. I IDC early morning on phone 3/9. Lady put me back in processing on the phone no other update not sure why I wasn’t in the 3/18 batch I was so sure.
It’s been just little over a full week for us since we verified. I’m not gonna freak us just yet lol
Nothing for me as well, not surprised for the people that verified 3/9 because it hasn’t been that long since we started processing again. I still remain forever hopeful we get it sooner rather than later though
Tried making an account on ssa.gov but it said wrong information weeks ago even though it was correct information so gave up. Tried it yesterday and it went through but still wouldn’t allow me to go through the whole registration so I just said fuck it.
Yeah id rather have my money asap and stock up before everything goes to shit

UPDATE: Just like Mimi my WMR updated today to saying being processed instead of saying “Still being processed”. The first update ive seen on WMR since around 2/16/20. Just an updated message brings me hope.
I wouldnt always count on 2 weeks with id verify, i did on 2/18, and it was successful by phone, went from still processing to being processed 2 days later, called said only i had was id verify and to wait 9 weeks then got a 4464c letter on 3/9 saying under 60 day review
For most people it’s a reasonable time frame to see any type of update but yes there is always a possibility could take a lot longer. Just trying to stay positive about the situation

You completed ID verify only 12 days ago stop worrying. At least you got an updated message on WMR because now you know it’s actually in the processing stage now. You could also be a weekly so wait for this Saturday and see what it says
That’s why I used the free edition from them, using premium services is asking for trouble because you just never know what could happen. It’s ok because I doubt many people will be returning to use TurboTax next year, they are going to lose a lot of customers after the bullshit from this year.
TurboTax has been very good for me the past few years but this year woke me up. I’m definitely NEVER using it again.
I also got an email from Turbo Tax saying they are going to deduct money out of my bank account because IRS hasnt processed my return yet.
But is that because you used premium services for TurboTax? I can’t imagine people who did it for free and paid them $0 is going to get money taking away from the refund.
@jcc2011 I just got the same email! Saying they are taking my money out of my bank by April 3rd since I haven’t gotten my taxes yet.
Did you use free edition for TurboTax or did you buy some type of premium for it. Are they talking about taking the whole refund out of your bank because that seems impossible for them to do that honestly.
I think it’s safe to say this has been the WORSE tax season I have ever witnessed in my entire life. At this rate the IRS is going to owe a fuck ton of interest towards people …
Can anyone tell me what information you need from the 5071C letter to call and verify. Any chance it can be done without the letter in hand? I am waiting on mailbox to be rekeyed and want to get this done asap!
There is a code in the letter you need to give them when you call or do it online, you CANNOT ID verify without the letter. As for what you need it’s simple, just your W-2 for 2019 and 2018

Processing til around 2/15/20 then said “Still being processed” with no bars
No update or letters for awhile so I called on 2/26/20 and was told I most likely need to ID verify
3/7/20 I received my ID verify letter which was dated 3/2/20
As of today on 3/9/20 I am now verifiedI will update when something changes
UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the IRS and im verified now, the lady I spoke to was very nice. She said could take up to 6-9 weeks before I get my refund but they tell everyone that so I guess it’s just a waiting game at this point. I’m just hoping that was the ONLY issue with my refund. I’m assuming if there was another issue I would of gotten another letter by now but I haven’t. I’ll continue to update my progress when something changes …

Just got my letter to ID verify today! Sadly it showed up on a Saturday so ill have to wait until Monday to call them. Does anybody know what ill need to verify over the phone other than current year tax return and previous year tax return?

UPDATE: As of today I FINALLY got my ID verify letter in the mail it was sent out March 2nd and got it today. Sadly I don’t have any of that credit stuff to make an account so I need to call but it’s Saturday so now I need to wait until monday.

I’m assuming it’s under review but since I get no accurate answer from the IRS at all who really knows. I’m going to be patient and give them until the end of this week after that they have no excuse and getting a TA

I can wait a little bit and I have no problem with it, it’s the fact we don’t get a 100% straight answer from them or you get 5 different reasons for the delay of your refund. It’s incredibly inaccurate considering they are the government in charge of everybody’s taxes. IRS is awfully quick wanting owed money but take forever giving out people’s earned money.
Called IRS yesterday, she wasn’t sure why im “still processing” she said I most likely need to ID verify but wasn’t 100% sure and said to wait til the end of next week and to call back if I receive no letter til then or don’t get an update on WMR. Basically got told to wait for a possible letter that I may or may not get in the near future.
KB, I didn’t have time to call, the online process is very quick. Wish I would have found the time, but had so much to do that weekend!

This year has definitely been very bad in terms of getting the right answers and explanations. Filed 1/28/20 and accepted the same day, waited all this time and finally called today. IRS lady pretty much had no 100% clarification on why im “still processing”. I can wait I just want to know WHY.
I’m NEVER using TurboTax ever again, worked fine for years now all of a sudden this year I gotta wait for a fuck ton of time. They claim it’s all free but that’s what you get a cheap service, ill gladly pay the $30 something next time if it means I know it gets e-filed correctly and I get it on time.
I received no letters at all and “Still processing”. I’m being hopeful that my funds get released by the 27th like ive read from some people and other sites. I’m hoping for some type of update by Saturday

I heard big updates for refunds are always Wednesday and Saturday but I get different reports from everyone. I can safely assume we will all get some type of update this week or that we get our refund and WMR wasn’t 100% accurate.
Since it’s the weekend I haven’t been able to call but I plan on calling them tomorrow.

Realistically I should of had a DDD by now, it’s either they are really fucking slow this year or WMR is utter crap and doesn’t reflect the true status of most people’s refunds. Stayed at Processing til around the 15th then the bars went away and said “Still processing”. Checked IRS website FAQ and says NO UPDATE WILL OCCUR UNTIL 7 days past the 15th which is the 22nd this Saturday. So people claiming to see no update can now understand why, wait until this Saturday for a DDD and if it still says “Still processing” then definitely call the IRS.
