@Roger That is the best refund screenshot ever!
imparientlywaitingHowever, I did just notice this in my email from taxact telling me that my return was RECEIVED –
“Note: The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will begin the processing of federal electronically filed returns on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
We will hold your information and automatically submit it to the IRS for processing when their systems become available. Please do not submit your federal electronically filed return to us a second time.
Please do not expect an acknowledgement on your federal electronically filed return for 24 to 48 hours, as the IRS processes all backlogged returns”.
imparientlywaiting@AzJenn… Ive seen this posted a couple of times, but my email doesnt say that. None of the emails Ive gotten from Taxact do.
MichelleThat’s interesting because I filed with TaxAct on 1/19 and was accepted on 1/20 and my emails say nothing about the 31st, they say I can begin to check it 24 hours after being accepted by the IRS and that a personalized DDD will be provided once it is processed by the IRS. Weird!
January 27, 2015 at 1:24 am in reply to: Inside info: if anyone has info from someone who works at irs #4094383TorieAnd the award for best reply today goes to…
Roger!!!“…for lack of a better word, a clocktease…”
LolAnonymousI filed and was accepted on 1-16. In the email I received from TaxAct there was this little bit of info. “If you expect a federal refund, the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool will provide personalized information about your tax return beginning January 31st. The timeframe for issuing refunds will not begin before this date.” So, according to TaxAct, we won’t even see any movement on WMR until the 31st.
jkmine said the same thing. never had an issue before im sure its something in the system
AnonymousNothing here just the same.
Over this yearMine was accepted on 1/20 and was being processed until today where it stated it needed further review :/
giniI am in indiana my state didnt start unti. The 25 th which is redictulas
RogerMy friend sent me this screenshot of his Where’s My Refund page showing his Direct Deposit date, and is adamant that it’s not photoshopped:
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii174/rhelg80/irsrefund_zps0eb75d0f.png
BrendaI’m in ks filed 1/21 accepted within hours then got ddd1/22
MelissaThe screenshot is not real. If you take it and compare it to the info on the WMR website you will notice that on the WMR website that after you put in your info it is different from this screenshot going around. In the screen shot you see tax period ending December 31, 2014. That is not on the WMR site when you check your status.
cherylPhishing email. they are hoping you put in the pin so they can get your refund
KGI actually just used the live chat feature on my tt account which I filed through online for free. I asked about if they knew anything about the wheresmyrefund not updating properly and they said no. They looked at my return and said I was approved, duh lol, I already knew that. So then I asked if they have personally seen anyone’s return that was approved yet and they said yes very few and it is on a first come first serve basis. So I guess the very few that claim to have a ddd may not by lying but watch out for the photoshops lol.
KrisSame message here. Processed but not approved…. Filed 1/22, accepted 1/23. Got message today online(today is the first time I checked) . Also, called automated and got same message. I am somewhat relieved I am not alone…..but I’ve never had this message or any problem .
AnonymousNC says they received but no dd yet
tiffanI was watching the news today and they stated because of the IRS doing cut backs on their workers, a lot of things will suffer or “get by” this year such as audits and offsets but ppl filing paper returns will suffer because of the 2800 workers they let go. if you filed efile they stated that we want suffer with the down fall but it will be easier this year for identity theft to happen because of the lack of workers
sweetkisses84Mine goes and come back I called the IRS to see has it been paid but it hasnt I think its something wrong with their automated system
gtjibJustsayin….same here I filed turbo tax, had to refile because it said my ohio return was rejected, but it was an update in turbo tax that caused me to have to be rejected. Anyways, accepted 1/21, but now I’m wondering….but still doesn’t explain why no one in Ohio has anything yet. Did rep say anything else? Do you have to refile?
Dee Dee DeeI’m assuming between tomorrow and Friday we should get a DD since she said between 3-5 BUSINESS days. So its best to call for your refund status because the website isn’t being updated since I was told I was approved and the website says differently. Hope this helps a bit for you all!
TatianaThis is Tatiana, I deleted the picture because please telling me it’s fake and soo own. So stop with the negative comments ok. Also your wrong the negative feedback was way earlier. Your late
Dee Dee DeeI have the same message when checking my OK state refund so I called and spoke with a representative and she said my refund has been approved and to wait 3-5 days for my deposit. The OkTAP website is still giving me the same message as you all though. I filed on Jan. 21st
ValMy said the same thing since the 21st . I finally called on Friday and they said I had to submit w-2’s, 1099’s and a federal transcript. They also told me they sent a letter that day and I still haven’t recieved it. They did not give me a reason, even when I asked!! Any news for anyone else?
&JessicaI am in Maryland and my status changed on Friday to approved. I should RECIEVE funds in 48 hours but I haven’t RECIEVED the funds just yet.
MichelleThat last post was from me, Michelle, to Tatiana, not posted by Tatiana. My bad.
TatianaNo disrespect at all, but when I clicked on that link it brought me to an ad, not a photo from Instagram. That may be why you got negative feedback.
BeverlyIn Al. they told me today it will be 8-12 weeks before We get our state. I filed on the 23rd and was accepted on the 23rd.
mohulamuI filed on 1/24, got accepted on 1/24, and just checked WMR, 1 bar. Hoping that I get my refund on 2/14…
DanAccepted on the 12th. Lost bars on either the 13th or 14th. Your tax return is still being processed. Topic 152 still. Saw that peoe started getting g direct deposit dates today. If I Dont see an update in the morning, I am going g to burn their phone lines up and the local news too. It is a bunch of crap that we get accepted in a test batch and thrown in a dumpster the same week.
SophiaAny Kansas state get refund yet. And when did u get accepted.
Anonymoushow about anyone in washington DC, mine has been processing since January 20th
DebI’m in Maryland. Filed 1/26, accepted 1/27, website says it has been received and will be deposited within 72 hrs.
Pksmadoes anyone know what would cause a return to sit in pending longer than normal? Mine are usually accepted right away, within an hour of being filed. But this time, it was rejected in the first submission because I mistyped an EIN number causing it to not match the numbers. Resubmitted immediately and it’s been pending for hours.
JessicaFiled 1/18 accepted 1/20, still says no record of the return
beautyQueenIRS do not contact you by email only through us mail. Its a scam please don’t click on any if the links…
AnonymousWhile it was thoughtful for you to post this. The article does not say that it applies to all filling and the quote that you made refers to future it improvements made for identity protection. It still only said that the delays are for paper filers.
CrystalIt doesn’t state anywhere in that article that e-filed returns will be delayed in anyway shape or form. No one is trying to shoot the messenger. I just honestly think that you are feeding a little fuel to the fire. I called Turbo Tax earlier about an issue with my state taxes, and the nice lady told me that I had been approved by the IRS for my federal return when I pressed her about it, and should have my money in around 5 days. Now, I cannot say if she was just trying to get me off the phone or if she was sincere, but I will take that for right now. Because I know that in years past, I have not showed an update on WMR until after I already had my money.
I think we all just need to relax and roll with the flow. Can’t do anything about it anyways. Us little people have no say.
MelissaAt Ashlee and RobF, read the link and I am confused by what you both read. Nowhere does it mention delays of electronically filed returns, nor does the article mention anything about a new fraud identity system. I am not denying these could be the case. These “facts” are just not in this link.
RobFeightThe part regarding the IT identity system modications is under this section of that story:
“Koskinen said the budget cuts would result in several other changes at the agency, including:”
This is not addressed as being tied to paper returns only.
Do be careful with your aim–I’m merely a messanger, and simply am supplying information to help us all understand the situation.
AnonymousI filed w/TaxAct on-Date: Friday, January 16, 2015 01:06 PM and was accepted within a few minutes. On the email I received it had a lot of info about what to expect and this is part of what it said “Based upon information from the IRS, you can generally expect your refund in less than 21 days. If you would like more precise information about your refund status, you can go to the IRS Where’s My Refund web page. You can start checking the status of your refund within 24 hours after you have e-filed your return. An actual personalized refund date will be provided as soon as the IRS processes your return and approves your refund. Updates to refund status are made daily – usually at night. TaxACT does not have additional information concerning your refund status.
As part of controlled IRS testing, a small number of federal returns will be transmitted to the IRS between January 12th and January 16th, 2015. This is before processing officially begins on January 20th. If you receive an acknowledgement during this timeframe, your return has been accepted by the IRS but your refund will not be processed early.
If you expect a federal refund, the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool will provide personalized information about your tax return beginning January 31st. The timeframe for issuing refunds will not begin before this date.
The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days. See What to Expect for Refunds for more information on when to expect your refund.”
AshleeThe delay is not due to new identity fraud systems. The funding loss is causing the new systems to NOT be implimented yet if you re read the bottom of the article.
DannaIts paper file, not efile. FFS!
CrystalIt says “Due to budget cuts, people who file paper tax returns could wait an extra week for their refund — “or possibly longer,” wrote IRS Commissioner John Koskinen in a memo to employees Tuesday. And filers with errors or questions that require additional review will also face delays.”
and about the IT identiy protection systems it says “Delays in IT investments. Among the delays will be those in technologies that offer new taxpayer protections against identity theft.”
It says nothing about people who e-filed being delayed.
AmberI just read the article, they are talking about PAPER filers, not electronic.
JbLIES!!! Shame on the IRS
They only update every so many days…. So u can go from 1 bar to finished overnight. This happened to me last year. They only provide the bars as something to keep you busy so you won’t call them directly. (IMO). I wouldn’t worry about the progress bar as one morning you will wake up and the money will be there. It took about 10 days for state last year and 12-13 for federal.
Annie HewEr… *Since the last time I did anything pin-related was my taxes, I thought I would see if anyone here knew…
Sheesh. I blame Monday for that blunder. :)
Annie HewI have not purchased or signed up for anything since filing my taxes on Jan 21st. My federal was accepted right away, and my state was pending. I live in Illinois, and they haven’t even started accepting returns yet. So anyhoo, I got a text on Saturday from 84260 that said – The PIN entered must be 15 digits long. Please try again.
I have no idea what this is about, but since the last time I did anything pin-related, I thought I would see if anyone here knew what this was about before I picked my brain for other ideas.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/help!
RobFeightThere is a system-wide expected delay for everyone filing, at least electronically, due to new IT identity protection system(s) having been implimented.

Tatiana NattI contacted the irs because i got things to do. Lol and i received that. I’m sorry if i was hostal but mitch was very rude and i was just trying to share information. Sorry guys
dawntatiana, i was just wondering if that email was in response to u contacting the irs. meaning did u contact the irs & ask about your refund or did u just randomly receive that email.
khtThis is what my WI refund status says:
Your return has been processed and a refund notice was, or will be mailed to you.
lavacandyOn the 0% TT users. But the IRS warns you about email scams
lavacandyI agree with you Tatiana
TatianaDear Mitch,
How dare you try and be rude. I just posted what i received in my email as i was reading post on here. I have no time to make fake shit. I do have a child and a job. If it’s fake fine but i received it and decided to post it you ignorant ass hole. Some people have no self respect
mitchNO WAY is that an email from the IRS the IRS does not email ppl about their refunds & tell them other ppl have already gotten refunds & send them pics what is wrong w some ppl
TatianaI juat received this email from the Irshttp://instagram.com/p/yVuDKuRb5_/
jakeingaSounds like their system is getting hammered and the servers are getting creamed. They should have been expecting this, they know that they haven’t updated anything yet, and millions are clamoring for news.
CrystalIt is just telling me that I tried too many times today…:(
CrystalHmm, where are these people?
TatianaThat can’t be true because when you log in TT it says 0 percent has received refund
AnonymousI’m in Kansas and received my state today.
MissnAz@ paul – mine appears the same way. I filled on 01/09, accepted on 01/13. My wage transcript reads the same way.
JayMaybe if the IRS would wake up and process returns in a more timely manner, so many people wouldn’t be checking it so often causing the server to crash.
TonyaAnyone in GA get taxes yet?
Vali haven’t got anything in Alabama. Says pending.
NopeKG, “It’s only been 6 days” does NOT explain it. Last year people were getting DD dates only a couple days after they opened up. That is no explanation for the delay at all. There has to be something else to it.
EbonyI’m pretty sure it means the server has crashed. Too much traffic.
Not true Daniel the information you are providing. Every bit of my account transcript from last year was accurate and I received the available information on WMR 2 days after receiving DDD from account transcript.
KGYes this year refunds will be delayed but only for people that MAIL IN THEIR RETURNS PPL. They are delayed because they have 12,000 less employees this year compared to last year and when you mail in your return actual people have to put your return on the machines that sort and process and for those that have errors that don’t need to be rejected but simple errors that are manually fixed usually without your knowledge it will take longer. Read the info from IRS themselves, it clearly states that. They didn’t even start processing returns until 6 days ago so try and relax even though everyone wants answers and where their money is. Now if we get into next week and nobody has a ddd yet then we all should start to panic. And I am not sure if they even process returns or anything on the weekend so if they don’t then they really are only into their 5th business day today.
amandanot working for me either
Seani just got off of the phone with a customer service representative from TT and he said “That some people have Alteady gotten their federal refund.
MamaOf6It’s not working for me either.
