Detective Work Text from 84260?

I have not purchased or signed up for anything since filing my taxes on Jan 21st. My federal was accepted right away, and my state was pending. I live in Illinois, and they haven’t even started accepting returns yet. So anyhoo, I got a text on Saturday from 84260 that said – The PIN entered must be 15 digits long. Please try again.

I have no idea what this is about, but since the last time I did anything pin-related, I thought I would see if anyone here knew what this was about before I picked my brain for other ideas.

Thanks in advance for any ideas/help!

  I too have been receiving repetitive text messages from 84260. But the text messages I receive are (mostly) just one long number. For example, I received the following three text messages:

  Perhaps TF stands for TracFone? I don’t know. But I will try to block these with the capabilities of my Note 3 smartphone.

  Phishing email. they are hoping you put in the pin so they can get your refund
