I don’t ever tell people to run and call, but in your case, I would call ASAP tomorrow. At this point we all know the early filers got caught in a glitch. My sister filed 1/20 and just got her date on Friday for the 19th. Her wmr is still showing all her bars missing but her transcripts finally updated to the proper 846 code and cycle date of the 19th.

They may need you to verify or something. Did you have 2 bars with a DDD on wmr at any point?

Hey irked, look at the account one for 2014 on the bottom left, do you see a date that says AS March 02 or any date near that? Not the cycle date though, this one is set up normal not like the cycle dates ie: 20150602 etc., it’s almost in the middle of the account transcript page towards the right side. If you have a date there, count back 21 days including weekends and you’ll have the date they consider they accepted you on. Which as a lot of us have found, it isn’t usually the same date you filed on or the date they sent the accepted email on, but actually anywhere from 2-10 days after. Although it seems it was mostly January filers that were bumped 10+ days.

Wondering if you could give me some insight on my situation.
I filed on 1/30 via TT, have received my state refund but have NO information about the federal. WMR has not updated still just one bar and all it says it Tax topic 152. Also only two of my transcripts are available but they are blank and say no return filed? I called and spoke to the IRS and they said that I should wait until my 21 days to call back but my 21 days is almost up and nothing has moved!

@Lisa: you have back taxes unpaid so they took it from this tax refund. Is the amount next to the 826 code less then your actually refund amount if you then you will recieve the balance amount. You won’t recieve it though until your transcripts update with the code 846. Good luck

Interesting question. Filed 1/22. Could finally see account and wage transcripts 2/2 have been blank with 0s since. Last week as of date changed from 2/23 to 3/2 and then back to 2/23. Now this morning there’s two as of dates both 2/23. What exactly does this mean? Progress?

I’m in the same situation I file on 1/28 got accepted on the same day and had a dd on 2/6 and when I went to check had that number 1121. The told me to called back after the 21st day because I still have time to receive my fund. Have you heard anything?

I filed 2/6 and found out via my transcripts they didn’t actually accept me and start until 2/11. My only date or number on my 2014 account transcript is my AS date of March 02. If you count 21 days back from that you get 2/10 or 11, depending on time of day, which I don’t know if it was after 11 am eastern on 2/10. If it was they’d consider it 2/11, so I’m just counting 2/11 as the day they took me. I even had an email on the 6th barely 15 mins after submitting it saying they accepted it!

It’s very frustrating! I wish you all a smooth refund process! I am willing to bet, with what I’ve seen this year so far, is well all see an update by Wednesday.

Thanks for the advice. So a TA will be able to see something that the irs rep and my tax preparer can’t see? I didn’t contact one sooner because I was told TAs were only if you had a hardship. I don’t have a letter but just give them a call and they will tell me what needs to be done? How quick ate they able to help out and get your refund?

Something I heard through the grapevine, so speculate validity at your own discretion, is if it’s over 6k it can take a little longer. Wouldn’t ya know, mine is an ass hair over.

I thought maybe if there was any truth to that then maybe the people who received such quick dates and money may have been getting a lot less.

This is my first year of it being over 6 so that’s another reason I thought there may be some truth to it.

Again though, pure speculation and second hand Information.

chatami yes contact a TA and make sure what ever they want you do it as quick as possible or it will just drag out

joli there is a freeze on the account and you have to just wait. untill you get the letter telling you what u need to do… also contact a TA

cass most cases it will be done with in 21 days you have to be patient this year.. things are moving slower

levi sometimes its a good thing you will know in 2 -3 days cause they should returned with approved on it… i also suggest calling the irs and seeing if there is anything going on with your return

bonnybleu83 no it doesnt always mean ur being auditted because i dont see the 570 freeze code.. i think you have to hang in there a little longer and wait for the letter. it might be something simple they want from you.. or they might correct it themselves

I filed 1/13/2015 and got my return accepted the same day. I filed with taxact.com my estimated ddd was 2/3/2015 today is thr 16th I have not got any letter or notice or call about any errors. When I check wmr it says still processing and a date will be available blah blah blah…obviously its been longer than 21 days idk what to do Ive called and all i can get is the status which says its being processed. Did you ever receive your refund? I, too, have the code and am worried about my return. I do not owe any back taxes and double checked with the offset phone line (1-800-304-3107).

I filed 2/6/15 with TT @ 4am, and was accepted before 6am. At some time during the following week the bars in irs WMR were gone, and replaced with the processing and 152 topic. The generic processing message has happened to me before, and it didn’t really change anything. This year must be different as today is 20 days later, and still have no change on WMR, and my transcripts are useless. The upper two are N/A, and the lower shows zeros and no return filed. I have never had to wait this long for a DDD, but I see there are still people posting the same results from 1/26 thru 2/5; some of which just received their DDD today.
It seems to be a split decision on whether the missing graph/bars means anything, but I don’t interpret the 152 description as meaning anymore than its still being processed. I haven’t been notified of any problems, and aside from a late 1099-misc I received there shouldn’t be any problems. I have already accounted for the 1099-misc as misc income without an actual 1099-misc being present. I’ve had this happen before, and it wasn’t an issue because I had shown that I received the income.
I will try to update this post as my situation progresses.

NY State returns- Mine just changed I was seeing that it might take up to 90 days because it needed to be reviewed, that I knew due to form to keep them from taking my return due to husband owes child support. This is the latest message: We received your return and it’s in the final stage of processing. While most returns are completed within 2 weeks, it may take up to 4 weeks.

A lot of us are still waiting. And I’ve come to believe that the “identity verification ” is just some bs process they’re putting people through to appease us. I talked to one guy and he wouldn’t tell me anything until I told him all of mine my wife’s and our daughters personal information. And when I got a single date wrong he to me my account was at too high a risk for fraud do he couldn’t talk to me again. I called later and was only asked the most basic information and told that my return was going through extra screenung just in case and I should be glad that the irs “is looking out for me”.

kalebs mom- From what I’ve seen if you can’t order them it’s because they haven’t started processing them yet. If you can see 2014 but it’s zeros they’re processing it. Mine is N/A on both top ones and both bottom ones have 2014 but it’s zeros except for an AS date of. March 02. If I count back from that 21 days it’s feb 10 or 11 not the 6th when they said I was accepted.

I am on one bar still and have seen almost all other 2/6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 get their DDD and some even had their cash Friday! My previous year transcripts all show a pattern, it’s always pretty much exactly 14 days from file to deposit. Last year my paper check date was March 31 but my direct deposit shows it hitting on March 13th. I’m really thinking by Wednesday at the latest we should have our DDD.

If not, well then you may see me on the 10 o’clock news if you live in my area.

Hi Bart,

We filed on 01/31/2015 and were accepted within minutes and are still waiting for our refund. I called and spoke to an IRS agent on Wednesday, 02/11 who told me to just wait the 21 days before calling back. He said that as long as my WMR is still processing, that that is good. I also have the Topic 152 on my WMR. I have tried to access our transcripts, but I keep getting the 800 number to call the Identity Protection Unit. Does that mean our return is being held for id fraud reasons? This is the first time that our refund has taken so long to be processed and approved. We are very frustrated as we have bills to catch up on and pay. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I filed 2\7. Got 9001 code a week later. I’ve done plenty of research …it’s not a audit code. I plan to call Tuesday but I know its nothing. The code itself is under the refund section in the IRS manual.

I was just curious if there are any 1/20 filers still waiting to be approved or even be processed? I filed on 1/20 and was accepted immediately through TurboTax. My wife and I filed separate this year and she was approved and has had her refund since the beginning of the month. I called the IRS on the 22nd day and was told verify my identity. Upon doing so, I was told that it would be 4-8 weeks before i was even processed because they IRS has “more important things to do” in the exact words of the rep. I called back the next day and pretended to have never called and was told that my return was not accepted until 1/28 which I know was crap, so I called back immediately and was told that my return was being processed and should see my refund by 3/17. Now my question is, is anyone in the same boat? Could it be just that my refund is larger than average and they flag all those? I have no idea and I am growing very impatient. Thanks for any input.

I was a victim of Id theft back in 2012.Someone filed a state return using an unknown address, my social security number and now i have an offset . (Just finding this out due to this is my first time filing a return since 2010).I have to go through the process of faxing my 2012 transcript to my states comptroller office to prove i did not file the return also i have to fax a 14039 form to the IRS…The bull $ hit begins…gd luck on ya refunds everyone.

I filed on 1/30 after 11am and was re-sequenced (according to the IRS was due to high volume of filers that day). New sequence code 20150605. DDD showed on 2/14 (finally) as 2/19. I am apparently a Thursday process and my account transcript updated when the IRS went down at 11am on 2/13. I read somewhere that 11am was the magic time that the IRS updates the account at that time and WMR will them be updated the next morning. I also was reading the IRS manual (I was really determined to find out information) and discovered that an account will continue to re-sequence until the ending number in their sequence is 1. Hang in there.

You’ll have to wait for updates – mine was rejected on the 4th updated transcripts updated the 6th and wmr updated on the 7th for mail date of 2-13.

When the bars disappear is when we were recycled into the system due to no one available to work our returns. Count 21 days plus upto 10 days past from there and you should have your refund. We filed 1/27 and was accepted the same day. We lost our bars on the 30th. So we should receive our refund between this weekend and the next. Only the IRS knows, but that is what happened when this occurred last year. Only time will tell.

I filed on 1/21 I was accepted on 1/22. I received a DDD for 1/30. On 1/29 I received the dreaded 1121 code. Y transcripts read refund issued the 841 refund cancelled with a 2/16 date. Both my tax rep and I have called the irs and was told that I was chosen for a random review, that Im not flagged and may or may not reiceve a letter. That I need to wait 60 days and no real information. I wanted to know if you could please help and offer any advice on what to do. Should I speak go a tax advocate? It’s frustrating that I don’t know what’s wrong so I can’t fix it and my refund is in limbo. I look forward to hearing from you and Thanks

I contacted the IRS but they told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to wait for a paper check, but now when I check WMR it’s saying that my refund was deposited on February 13. Hi All. I had a 2/11 deposit date. My bank told me on 2/13 they never saw any deposit. Tried calling IRS on 2/13 – what a joke. Today (2/16) I sign back on to WMR and I see this: “We are sending you a check to the address shown on your tax return because your bank returned the direct deposit of your refund.
Your tax refund is scheduled to be mailed by February 23, 2015. If you do not receive the refund by March 23, 2015, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then.”.

My bank never saw a deposit – I am absolutely positive all my banking information was 100% correct on my return. The IRS is clearly lying. Someone messed up something on their end, or they are just trying to buy time giving me my money, but it is a huge issue for me. I was relying on that money to pay several bills and now my bank account is negative. I am beyond frustrated.

If anyone else is in my boat, I recommend contacting your IRS Taxpayer Advocate. I don’t think this will help my current situation, but I want the IRS to know that they messed up and I know it.
