Wow your all lucky . I am in PA and I get 0 dollars for state ! But I filed on the 9th accepted for FED on the 12th just like you all. And I have 1 bar it hasn’t changed and I use NETSPEND. I HOPE WE all get our FED refund . I’m getting mad now that there’s nothing on the bars that they haven’t changed

Just a little info…went in to check irs2go and it says wmr not available at this time. Maybe they are down to do updates?!

*This is not the same as exceeding amount of inquiries.

Just a little something new. Just checked the irs2go and it said wmr is currently unavailable. Not the same as exceeding amount of tries. Maybe they are ready to update?!

I’ve gotten a refund in January every year except the past 2.

                      Patti,

I wish they would get their stuff together! It’s sad to say that we used to get the returns and information faster before the irs went to this “new” system!

Last year I filed on the 15th, I was accepted early in the test batch and got mine on the first DDD of 2-5 or 2-6. I didn’t have an issue filing early, I didn’t wait long. The only year I really had an issue was 2012 when they changed it all to 21 days, because it gave us all an acceptance and we can expect our refund on such and such day. But a lot of people’s weren’t processed by then, so their info changed. The IRS has to first accept your return, then process and approve it, then refund sent (DDD).

That’s not true in my case. 2012 I got mine on January 28 and that’s when they only did deposits on Fridays

I really don’t think any refunds will go out before February. Because, if you think about it… the government won’t earn all that interest on the money if they pay out before the first. The last time I remember a refund being issued in January. Was for 2009 tax season I believe it was Jan 31st? Why would they pay and lose interest when they can wait till the next month? They say within 21 days, if they were nasty they could make us all wait a full 21 days, but they don’t. Some country’s you have to wait like 4-6 months for a refund. I don’t expect to see any DDD for January. Only February, no matter if they opened early or not.

@Navywife2001: that literally happened to me earlier tonight! They gave me amounts and dates of offsets that occurred in 2013 and 2014! It really freaked me out because it’s like, am I going to be offset again for these amounts??? But I spoke to a rep and he informed me that the case these offsets were for is now closed. The debt has been paid in full.

I am wondering what is going on with the IRS Offset system as well. Called yesterday it stated my husband nor I had any non taxable offsets. Now tonight I called because the system states they are added everyday. Now it says my husband has no offsets but I have and offset from last year with a pay date of 02/12/2014. This is getting crazy! Been filing income taxes for the past 18 years and these past two years have been crazy. Who the heck knows what is up with the IRS!!!!

OK…waited thirty minutes to speak to a rep who told me that as far as he can see…nothing has come from DoE. He said, however, that this can change. I asked him about the automated message and he said it must have been a mistake on my part, that perhaps I selected a different option on accident.

I had two offsets for one federal loan. They took my whole check in 2013 and about $1200 last year. I asked the guy what it said in his system and he said that the case is “inactive.” I asked him what that meant and we were literally arguing semantics for a good five minutes before he finally admitted that this was a closed case through DoE!

What bothered me though was his ominous, “it can still change” comment. I asked him flat out if he’s seen offsets so far this tax season from DoE. This was asked to determine whether or not DoE is sending out their yearly garnishments for refunds. His response was that he, himself, have made no such calls yet. I tried to ask the right questions to get the best answers from his, “I cannot confirm nor deny” butt!

Called the hotline again, I guess I chose the correct selection, was informed that at this point in time I have no debts.

SBBT only works if you had your filing fees taken from your tax refund. Otherwise it goes straight to your personal account.

So I called the offset hotline and they said I “have” two offsets. But they were applied on 2/12/14 and 2/11/13. These amounts sound familiar. Is the automated system supposed to tell me about previous offsets???

I had DIRECT loans. The Automated system said the amount of $xxxx was applied on 2/12/14 and the amount of $xxxx was applied on 2/11/13. They said nothing about an offset to occur in 2015. Can I assume that I’m in the clear? All my federal loans are in deferment until May, and I have two federal Perkins loans that I’m in an arrangement on. I’m on hold right now for an agent. But I’ve been on hold for twenty minutes already…

I checked this morning and received a 01/22 authorization. I noticed it took three days before they authorized it. I checked last year and that was the same length of time it took for them to authorize it. However, I have not seen a deposit yet in my bank. My feeling is based on last year – I may not see until next week. But I am remain hopeful….

Can somebody confirm or deny this?

I contacted SBBT and they gave me all my information regarding my deposit. They told me the IRS will deposit my refund on the 6th of Feb, I ask them is there a possibility that the IRS will deposit sooner and they said they honestly do not know. I was accepted the 16th so that’s why I asked if it was a possibility I’d get it sooner.

I know from last year that approval is near, I also was approved quick last year. Kinda wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I had a P10 thru the IRS to file. In the past I never was approved so quickly….. always had to wait, that’s the only change.

I learned my lesson! This year I filed on the 21st just to be safe. EVERYBODY I know got their tax return at least a week before I did and filed AFTER I did. I have a simple return.

I wasn’t expecting that.. so at the most 10 days to process but really I don’t think they started doing anything till Tuesday so that was a 3 day turnaround!

I of course am just going by what I hear, that’s all I can so. When I contacted SBBT I personally asked them is there a chance of me getting my return sooner than the 6th and they told me they don’t know. So they don’t IRS could very well deposit it before that, that would be great but I have nothing to show that it’ll happen.

I would imagine no because its the weekend and god forbid a government employee work weekends, but thought possibly since it’s tax season this could be different. Any insight is helpful

Those dates are more than 2 weeks from the start of IRS processing and it never takes that long its always 7 to 10 days from acceptance unless you have a complex filing or something special.

Approved means they approved your refund. Acceptance is the 1st step then approved, then ddd and deposit. You still may fall into the group of 2/5 but if you don’t mind me asking where did you get that date from? SBBT informed me my deposit is scheduled to be deposited on 2/6 I’ve been accepted since 1/16.

I just noticed these 2 words seem to be interchanged a lot online and I was Hopi g for some clarity. Taxslayer sent me a email saying my refund was accepted and I only have 1 bar on the WMR site. Does that mean I also still need to be approved? Also does that mean I woildnt fall most likely into the 2/5 DDD group?

This is not the same thing as, we dont have your info, because even in that case, the returned value is not empty. So, their system is malfunctioning. Its not you or me personally causing it, its a system wide error, presumably.
