Literally everyone on the PATH is waiting for news lol.
2/22 or later.
By law, nobody who claimed EIC or ACTC will receive their refund before the 15th of February. Anybody who claims that they do get their refund before that are either mistakenly believing that they fall under the PATH act or are just trolling.
Not saying this is what’s happening but 810 is a refund freeze and 424 is an audit code. 971 means usually a letter is or was being sent. Don’t worry too much yet
I don’t think its necessarily an audit but a manual review by an actual human.
Since the PATH Act was enacted, I’ve always received my refund the Wednesday after the week of the 15th. It seems I am in the bunch of weekly updaters’ so I’m not sure if being a daily would affect that. I expect to have my refund on the 23rd of this month.
Nobody really knows but if you are PATH, it doesn’t really matter. The IRS could have processed your return the day they accepted it but you won’t see your refund till probably the week after the 15th.
No, it doesn’t really mean anything. The direct deposit date that shows on Turbotax is just 21 days after your submitted your return. If you claimed EIC or ACTC you will not receive your refund until after the 15th of February. I’ve always gotten my direct deposit on the Wednesday after the week of the 15th.
WMR sucks every year people. For those of us on the PATH Act, you will most likely get your refund before WMR even updates. It’s like that every year for me. If you can, get transcripts online. Ordering them via mail is crappy because they will take a week to get to you anyway and most likely be behind on the actual processing of your refund. Good luck to all!
You shouldn’t be relying on taxes for rent anyhow. Rent comes every month. Seems like you need to plan your finances a little better.
Ignore this asshole. Wednesday just started. I’ve always gotten my refund on Wednesday as well. Most big name banks don’t deposit until after 2:30a and sometimes later. I was able to check my transcript after last Friday. I hope you get your cash soon!.
I filed on the 23rd of January and it was received by the IRS on 2/11.
Anybody with a B&M bank, excluding credit unions, won’t get their deposit until the DDD. It is well known that a lot of “online” cards post early. Some credit unions do as well. Big name banks like Bank of America, PNC, Huntington, etc, won’t post early. The 26th is just one day away!

I have seen such threads. It is the same every year. People claim DDD on PATH but have little proof. Even If they had proof, I bank on Photoshop. If people were getting DDD’s this site would have a meltdown and since it isn’t…
Listen bud, I am the sensible guy. I can wish DDD upon everyone like there is no tomorrow but it means nothing.. Yet I am sensible. Past trends and logic dictate updates this weekend for DDD 2/26. I’ve been on this site for years and have much experience with GreenDot. So many people are filled with false hope and I’m trying to dissolution that. The updates will come on the weekend. Just stop trying to convince yourself and others you might get it sooner.
I mean seriously, does nobody actually read through other threads? Nobody on the PATH has a DDD yet. No funds have even be sent to banks including those who post deposits early. An update is expected for Friday morning for those who can view transcripts and Saturday morning for WMR. GreenDot does NOT post federal returns early FYI. I know this because I used to be a cardholder.

None of us are going to see anything until Friday if you can access transcripts or Saturday’s update to WMR. So many people asking the same question over and over. Just take a few minutes to actually read and you will get your answer. Trust me, when people start getting DDD, you’ll know because this site will get blown up.
What exactly is the point of this thread? It is pretty well known that:
1) Prepaid accounts often post as soon as ACH notifications are received by the bank. They often use the “get paid 2-3 days early” to get people to use their services and pay their fees.
2) Paying for your return to be prepared WITH your refund will cause a slight delay in deposit times.
3) Using a brick and mortar bank vs an online account allows you to pull cash with no fees.
4) Claiming EIC or ACTC slows your refund timing as not claiming those credits does not.
5) What was the point of you starting this tread again? Were you just bored or?

Based on the past few years, I’m betting on an update this coming Saturday and a DDD of the 26th.
It means they have received your tax return and it is being processed. The PATH Act has been lifted and you should check WMR next Saturday and will probably see a DDD.

If you are a PATHer, you won’t see an update tonight ffs. How many times does it need to be said in similar threads? IF YOU CLAIM EIC OR ACTC YOU WILL NOT GET ANY UPDATE UNTIL AFTER THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY. I swear that more than half of the threads on this forum are just people losing their shit because they have PATH but no DD on WRM or on transcripts yet. The updates are coming but don’t expect jack shit before mid February. Some people on here are absolutely absurd I swear.
@jaci my sister in law who is a pather also has a DDD 2/12 and it says if she doesn’t receive them in her account to call after the 17th. Even though she sent me the screenshot I still told her not to hold her breath! Maybe it was a glitch or something? Maybe I’m just jealous….especially since I filed before her 😑
Post proof or be labeled as a liar. There are no glitches and no exceptions for those who walk the PATH. Your SIL is either ignorant of credits claimed or else lying about it. No other option is available.
The OP is bogus, as is their “friend” Singlesnydee. SBTGP has been collecting fees from e-filed taxes for many years and though some years have hiccups, they are not going to mail a paper check to all of their users.
Never have I received my state before Fed. I’ve heard quite a few have theirs already. Perhaps the irs threw their hands up? ! Lol.

If you claimed EIC or ACTC you are at best you are looking at a week after the 15th. More realistically the second week after the 15th. If you claimed neither, to hell with PATH and you should see a refund DD within a week-ish. I would not place money on the software estimated dates but it should be somewhere around there.

Where is your proof of said statements? Oh wait, there isn’t any. Most people with PATH credits update weekly because there is no sense in using as much processing power to wait to process as there is processing non credit returns. Even if she didn’t claim those credits, she could very well be a weekly updater because of how the software works. Go troll elsewhere.
Hello all. I filed on 1/22 and it was rejected that day for the wrong AGI. I resubmitted and it was accepted 1/23. I am on one bar “being processed” I have informed delivery and it shows I have a piece of mail from the IRS. My transcripts are still blank with a processing date of 02/27 which changed from 02/13 and I still have one bar. I know I’m being paranoid but I’m just wondering what it could be.
Is this the first time you’ve ever accessed your transcripts online? I did for the first time this year and just got a confirmation letter in the mail.
That doesn’t sound right to me. The IRS doesn’t care about any individual and Uncle Sam wants his money. I hate to say it but you should fully expect your refund to be grabbed if you owe.

The simple answer is that people are assholes. It’s “fun” for some people to stir shit up on the internet even if it is a legit discussion board. I’ve been around this site for a few years now and it’s customary to see a handful of idiots proclaim they have EIC or ACTC and get their refunds “early”. They are just terrible trolls who get a rise out of working people up or are actual idiots who really have no idea what credits they claimed.
This is completely normal if you claim EIC or ACTC. Expect an update after the 15th. The 15th is a Saturday though and many of us update weekly (on Saturday) so who knows what will happen. As long as WMR doesn’t say “Take Action” you should be at ease.

This year is weird period…I can see my refund amount, cycle code, as of date, and credits but have not been able to look up my info on WMR soooo….idk what that’s all about lol.
I could be mistaken but I believe transcripts update before the WMR site? My transcripts updated friday night (I couldn’t see them before) and now I have the PATH message on WMR. It’s just a waiting game now. I file exactly the same every year so I’m not worried. Used to the wait, just hate it lol.

These people did not claim any credits related to the PATH Act so their refunds are being processed fairly quickly. Before the PATH Act, I used to get my refund around a week after the IRS began accepting returns.
This is a blatant lie or else you had no idea what credits you claimed.
Filed with CK early and was accepted 1/22 with EIC and ACTC. Don’t sweat it, The IRS just opened yesterday!

@ Nathan, I always claim and I have never got the PATH message or stuck, but never have filed this early usually round 2/4 I have been filing the same info for 14 years however so, I am sure that might have something to do with it. PATH was design to catch those frauds.
Next question. I was accepted by 1/27. i will check WMR in the morning. But I should see PATH automatically if I was stuck in path vs 152 tax topic correct? .
Not having the PATH message display on WMR doesn’t really mean much. Neither does filing with the same credits for the last 14 years or being in a test batch if you have claimed those credits. Yes the PATH Act is intended to catch fraudulent returns, and because some people just have to ruin it for everyone, everyone gets to wait until after the 15th. I filed early and was accepted on 1/22 and don’t expect to see WMR update till a few days after 2/15. Waiting sucks, but there isn’t anything any of us can do about it.
@Nathan I claim both of those credits and have a small refund compared to most on Path and I get my refund for the past 2 years before the the set IRS date. Can’t imagine tons of people coming to a free website to lie. Some, maybe…all nah
So you are saying that the IRS is breaking a federal law just because the money you are receiving from those credits is small? Your EIC could be a whopping $1 and they would still hold your return till the set date. So either you are not aware of what you actually claimed, or like you said, some people come to a free website to lie.

No, they are not. The only credit that doesn’t apply to the PATH Act is the Child Tax Credit. Anybody who claimed Earned Income Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit will not receive a refund before 2/15 even if they were in a test batch. The PATH Act is a federal law and the IRS will not break it. The people claiming to have those two credits are either ignorant of what they actually claimed or are flat out lying.
WMR updated a few days ago to refund received but I cannot view any transcripts for 2019. Even the one for 2019 wages says no record of return filed. Must be on weekly updates then?
@Veronica, if you claimed the EIC you are 100% stuck with the PATH act.
If your refund has been approved, you didn’t actually claim with any child tax credits. It is against federal law for the IRS to release refunds with those credits before February 15th. There are no exceptions.
@Tiffany W, since you claimed the ACTC your refund will not be released until after mid February. By federal law, the IRS cannot release refunds that claim EIC or ACTC until after the 15th.There are no exceptions to this.
I filed with Credit Karma pretty early and completely forgot that I had. Also filed with TurboTax days later lol. Got an email from CK last night that my return had been accepted and WMR has updated to one bar. I suppose I will get an email from TT saying my return has been rejected because I accidently double filed lol. I shelled out $80 for TT. I wonder if I can get a refund after my return gets rejected. I did file with EIC and child credits.
If you claim your children on your W-4, you will have less taxes taken from each paycheck and will receive less of a refund for that year. I personally do not claim my son on my W-4, have regular taxes taken out of my pay, and receive a decent refund.
Filed early last year and I believe I got my refund on the 27th of February. Anybody who tells you that they got it before the middle of February is either lying or didn’t actually claim the credits and doesn’t know what they are talking about.
Money in the bank! I bank with Huntington so it probably hit around 2:30 when I was sound asleep! DDD 2/27 no problem!
I am going to buy myself a new TV. Nothing crazy, just a nice 40 inch to replace my like 10 year old 27 inch Insignia that has a dying backlight. I’ll probably buy myself some new work shoes too and some clothes for my 4 year old boy who insists on growing way to fast. Oh a new car seat too. Car needs an oil change (not that I needed my refund for that) and Thursday I’m taking it to my local shop because I think i may need to replace an engine belt. At least I hope that’s all it is. I spent WAY to much on this car (that I not so lovingly refer to as my “big red piece of shit”) last year so the rest of my refund is going into my savings because I imagine in another year or two, I might have to start looking for a new ride.

I used Greendot for years and only ever received my refund early once, at 9pm the night before my DD. I did get my weekly paycheck a day early but even though they advertise you can get your refund early, it doesn’t seem to happen.
Prepaid cards may get funds earlier. Big name banks will not. Jesus, a week ago everyone was losing their minds over a lack of a DDD, and now that they have it, they are losing their shit wondering if they will get their money early. My DDD is 2/27. I’ll get my funds on that date and buy a new tv, clothes for my son and myself, and put the rest away. Don’t be in such a hurry to spend that money!
They advertise that you can get your refund early on their site but when I used that card, I only once got it early, and that was at 9pm the night before the DDD. Every other time it was there in the morning when I woke up on my DDD.
Don’t check until after 3am! The lockout should be removed after midnight but as far as I’m aware, tonights updates dont start till 3am. Best go to sleep and check in the morning! If you ever do get locked out of WMR, know that you can always call the automated IRS line as many times as you want to check your status. That number is available on this site somewhere lol
It really depends on what bank you use. Many banks that offer prepaid cards will credit the deposit as soon as they are aware of incoming funds. Most big name banks will wait until the funding date on your electronic check (ACH deposit). All banks get notifications of incoming funds a few days before the deposit date because of how ACH works. It is really up to the bank on whether or not they credit your account on the ACH note or not. I am not to familiar with credit unions but I believe they function the same way. All in all; some will, and some won’t. You should have the funds available no later than your DDD. If not, call your bank and ask them if there is an issue.

I can’t view my transcripts online but I have my fingers crossed that the WMR update early Saturday morning will give me a 2/27 DDD. I believe that transcripts update throughout the day so be sure to check later.
Larry, you do realize that that makes absolutely no sense right? Relatively few people filed early compared to the number of people that filed opening day. Did you know that filing early doesn’t always mean that the IRS receives your return early? Many tax preparers wait to transmit the return until opening day.
It resets at midnight I believe. Why are you checking so many times a day though? WMR updates once a day. If you really must though, you can still call the automated hotline as much as you want if you get locked out of WMR.

I love how people are so quick to call lies on those who got a refund before they do. I’m still sitting on “is being processed” and I believe these lucky people. I have gotten my refund on 2/22 the last three years yet this year it seems im getting the shaft. Just because they get an earlier refund, and the IRS website spouts garbage, doesn’t mean people are lying about their refund. Hell, there was a dude this year that said he claimed EIC and got a DDD before the end of January. Everybody knew that was bull. A DDD of 2/22 is pretty normal but some of us got left out. Learn how to be patient and grow up people!

No DDD yet but can’t check transcripts.I am still hopeful that I might get a DD on Friday without WMR updating or even a Saturday update with a 2/23 DDD. I have had no bad codes on WMR or letters in the mail. It’s coming eventually but sooner is better than later!
