I read how the IRS changed the software or system for Employers to upload Wage Reports this year and how it’s a process in and of itself to create a new account and register to use it….The alternative is snail mail….

Who knows if that is true and by how much, sounded reasonable though?

Filed & Accepted 1/31. Have the usual 570 for 3/11 & 971 for 3/18. Called the IRS today and spoke with an agent, she advised me that the letter was mailed out on 3/18 and gave the usual 120 days spill. She did say there was no verification needed and that she was gonna try to expedite the case.

5 hours later I finally get an email but it’s from TurboTax saying that my CreditKarma account would be debited by 4/12. Is this a good sign?

I have my notifications set to online and by mail. I have 3/18 beside the 971 code but I didn’t receive my letter electronically. I’m sure it will just be the CP05 letter that says 60 days…at this point they can just keep their postage until they release my refund. 🙄

Broke down and called IRS this morning, and they told me if I don’t get any updates by April 15, 2024 on my transcripts to give them a call back then.

TT sent email saying they took their funds. TPG states funded 3/19 but shows posted 3/20—this!! Over $300 thrown away yearly just for them to still hold funds. Promise I have learned my lesson.

Thanks everyone. I checked the transcripts and I am still at 570. Filed 2/2 and 570 date of 3/4. Haven’t been sent a letter or anything saying need to verify. I really hope it gets done this week. We are a 0705 processing weekly I guess.

Could really use this money. I hope it comes soon.

3/16 Went to local office on the one Saturday they had open for the month waited 4 hours to be verified which took 10 mins same questions asked on the freaking phone. only diff they had to view my ID/SS and 2023.

Fingers crossed but rep said 180 from the call i made today but then tells me to call back in 4 weeks no update .. that makes no sense, are you just saying 180 but yet tell me to call back in 4 weeks. Just got my email stating I had a cp05 notice. Generic pulled for review, 60 days from the 18th, nothing you need to do. I certainly hope it comes much faster than the 60 days..We need this soon.

When we access both of our ID.me accounts, nothing has changed in the transcripts or anything. This is getting out of control and couldn’t happen at the worst time when we are out a vehicle and have 6 children to get to and from, not to mention getting back and forth to work.

Well, nothing happened this weekend, (I am a weekly cycle date is 20240705) my details are filed 1/29 electronically and accepted 1/29, as of date is 3/4, 570 is 3/4 and noticed issued 971 is 3/4. I did receive the notice and it was for an extra amount added to my refund so bigger refund, my question is does getting a notice, (good or bad), mean they start the process from the beginning again? My transcript information hasn’t changed since it was first entered!

I had to Mail in my return because it was rejected, it seems someone filed under my daughter’s SS and name. She received the ID and return verification letter , she ID verified now we have to verify the alledge return and remove it from her SS.
Now my transcript updated and I have a 570 code am glad I logged in and found this thread I’ve never seen that code before and now is just waiting from what I’ve read so far. I am now wondering if am getting a letter or what will happen next?!

@jemar707 Thank you so much for suggesting to speak to a representative. I reached out yesterday and got a response today. They had me fill out a form to release my records and hopefully assign a tax advocate. You guys are the best. I have literally been pulling my hair out over here.

Just as soon as I typed the last response, I got an email from a representative from the congressman’s office, asking me to fill out a form and that they will try to help as best they can. I hope this works. Will keep you updated.
