My cycle code is 0405. Been an 05 for over a decade now. WMR still only at one bar but amount transcript has 846 code for 3/9. WMR has been slow to update these last 2-3 years.
I generally get my taxes accepted early but the refunds don’t get released until February 15 has passed.
Historically, the IRS continues processing tax returns during government shutdowns. You just won’t be able to call and speak with customer service.
I got mine a few hours ago. I’ve been seeing it pending in my account since last Thursday evening.
Didn’t you file your taxes only on the 13th or something like that?
I filed January 26. Was accepted in the test batch and only got my refund today. You might get yours on Friday. Maybe check your bank for a pending deposit.
Paying down my credit card
February 22, 2021 at 12:20 pm in reply to: Possible no updates because of snow storm in Texas? #4457811Why would a snow storm in one state affect taxes for everyone in the United States?
It’s only been 10 days.
Per irs website wmr will not start updating until 2/22/2021
That’s not what they said. They said update projected on that day for those who are PATH, not that they won’t start updating until then.
I’ve seen the pending deposit in my bank account since Friday. WMR still at 1 bar.
You need to use the address you put in your most current tax returns.
WMR just isn’t updating. A lot of people have gotten their refund already and still at one bar. I see my pending deposit and still at one bar also.
I filed 1/26, accepted 2/10. WMR still at 1 bar but I see a pending deposit with my bank for 2/24.
So basically I screwed myself filing early. Here I was excited about being part of the test batch being accepted on 2/10 but so many posts are from 2/12 acceptance and they have DD. Ugh. Well I’ll just keep checking I guess. But I usually update Friday and Saturday.
I filed 1/26. Accepted 2/10. WMR still shows 1 bar but as of yesterday, my bank account is showing a pending deposit for 2/24.
Got my refund today but WMR only showed 1 bar this am.
Filed and accepted 2/12
Refund in bank today!!!!Claimed both EIC and <span id=”IL_AD4″ class=”IL_AD”>Child Tax Credit</span> so a little confused on why I got it already. Thought they had to hold it because of that but guess not…
They only need to hold it until February 15. And since tax season didn’t start until February 12, there really wasn’t anything to hold this year.
Yesterday I saw the pending deposit for 2/24. I thought WMR would update last night. Nope. Still at one bar. I’m noticing they’re not updating or slow to update WMR this year.
What everyone else has said. It’s about the stimulus payments.
Filed 1/26
Accepted 2/10Don’t know when transcript updated because I can’t recertify my account. However, I see a pending deposit with my bank (navy federal) for 2/24. WMR still just one bar. That might update tonight.
With that being said, I have received my refunds on a Sunday before. I bank with a credit union.
The only thing my bank will deposit early is my pay. In other situations, they’ll release the money once they receive it. The date they have when the funds are pending is the date they should receive it by.
Any year you have EIC or ACTC, you’re path.
Wait until the IRS finishes processing your returns. If they find the 1099, they can fix it for you and make the adjustments themselves. If not, file an amended return once they’re done. The IRS has 13 weeks to process amended returns.
Y’all need to stop assuming that everyone with a dependent is a pather.
I’ve got a dependent and not path.
@Jake Stimulus status DOES have to do with 2021 Tax season.
@tiff030 You’ll get the second stimulus with your refund since you haven’t received it yet. Once your taxes are done being processed, you’ll see a date for your second stimulus which should also be your 846 date.February 15, 2021 at 11:24 am in reply to: Lost bars, lost 152, show amount and still processing #4453541My bars disappeared last night and came back this morning. No change.
Omg people! You do realize when it’s sent, it’s not instantaneous, right? Yes, the IRS does say sent BY the 22. Which means they’ll send it out 2 days before that. It can take 2-5 business days for it to reach your bank and then for your bank to process and release it. Some banks makes the funds available when they get the pre notification. Other banks (like mine) waits until they actually receive the money to post it.
So chill out already. If you really want or need that money, change that number of exemptions you have with your payroll so they don’t take as much out of your paycheck throughout the year.
When did you file?
Call the offset number.
There’s a new tax scam where it’s the correct social and all the dependents are correct. And it’s the correct bank account. The money then gets deposited and the person would get a call claiming to be an IRS agent telling you the money was deposited into the wrong account and that it needs to be returned.
Every year, there is always a chance for you to be a victim of fraud. Just because you weren’t last year and everything went fine last year doesn’t mean it can’t happen to you this year. Or would you rather spend months sorting out the issue? Because if you were a victim, you’d be complaining that the IRS doesn’t have a good system and should have a better system in place to prevent this from happening.
Stop complaining and just wait. Mid February is still within 21 days is when they start processing returns. It’s not 21 days from when you submitted yours.
Processing, not preceding
When they start preceding the refunds for those with path, transcripts will update with the 846 providing there are no issues.
They are only required to hold the funds until February 15th and tell you not to expect to see a refund until February 27.
If the path act affects you, the yes, that’s normal. Come February 15, bars should appear.
It’s never about us little people. The points of filling tax returns is mainly for those who have to pay taxes. That’s why the IRS remains open.
In addition to not getting my refund during a government shutdown, I will not be getting a paycheck either. Gotta love being a little person working for the government.
Usually if you’re a weekly, you stay as a weekly for 6 years Then it gets sent back to daily until your file gets flagged for whatever reason and sent back to weekly again. I had an offset and that’s when I got put into the weekly stack. This should be my last year as a weekly.
That’s not the reason for the PATH act. The reason is due to identity thieves who steal your information and dependant information to get your refund. These people usually file early so they can get the money. Then when the real person files, their account gets flagged and they have to spend months proving who they are.
February 8, 2018 at 8:56 pm in reply to: If you’re weekly when will your transcripts update? #4210453My returns have always completed Friday night and transcript updated Saturday mornings.
Tax returns will continue to be processed during a government shutdown. However, no refunds will be released until the government opens back up.
Once the continuing resolution expires tonight and no other CR or budget is signed, the government is not authorized to spend any money. That’s why essential staff will continue to work but will not receive pay until the government opens back up.
February 8, 2018 at 5:35 pm in reply to: Prediciton of earliest PATHers deposits. Comment with your last years File – DDD #4210244@Unicorn Kisses how did you get your refund last year before tax season started? Rest batches don’t get their refunds until tax season officially starts, even if it’s a few days later.
She filed a week before tax season started.
I’m a weekly and have been for years now so I’m not expecting to see any changes for a week or two.
If any law is broken, is the IRS did take your beef out with them.
🙄
No lance, she most definitely claimed EIC and ACTC. And she most definitely got her refund in her bank account today. She was extremely shocked since she wasn’t expecting it until late this month.
Don’t assume everyone is stupid.
One of my staff who had EIC and ACTC received her refund this morning.
You both can claim head of the household as long as you’re not claiming the same dependents. They might just not have gotten to processing your return yet. Give the IRS a call on Monday to see what the hold up is.
The majority of the PATH filers should have their WMR updated tonight.
I’m just guessing here but I think the computer was set to automatically change it at midnight. In past years, they don’t update it with anything useful until around 3am EST.
They’ve been very transparent about the PATH act. It’s not their fault people don’t like it. But if someone steals your identity, gets your tax refund by filing a fraudulent tax return and you have to spend months fixing it, you’d be upset about that too.
The date you look for deposit date isn’t the processing date. It’s the date next to the 846 code.
@ Jerry
I didn’t get the PATH message until I was able to order both of my transcripts. Which I assumed they were done processing my return. If they can’t look you up with your new address, it likely means that they haven’t processed your return yet. Try your old address. If they can find something with your old address, it confirms that your current tax return hasn’t been processed.
@Ary
That’s not the PATH message. That’s the normal “your return is currently being process” and tax topic 152 is normal. Those with a PATH message doesn’t have any bars, amounts, and it says to check back after February 15.
The 21 day clock doesn’t start until the IRS officially opens. So that’s the 23rd. 21 days from that is February 13. It doesn’t matter if you’re an early filer and was accepted before the IRS officially opens for processing. Your 21 days doesn’t start until then.
February 14, 2017 at 12:39 am in reply to: Collecting Data: Cycle Date and Processing Date PATH people #4169500Accepted 1/17
Cycle 20170405
Date 2/13/201720170503
First 4 number is the year. Second two is the week. The week IRS starts processing is 01. So 05 is the week of February 20. The last 2 are campus days (processing days). 01 is Thursday.
so 20170503 translates to 02/27/2017.
Same boat as you. My bank shows me when they’ve received notice of a deposit to my account, usually happens about 4-5 days before it’s deposited. Will let you know once I see it.
You need your account transcript to see codes.
February 11, 2017 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Cycles codes for 02/02'ers with EIC & ACTC ONLY PLZ!!! #416779220170405
Processing Date 2/13/2017If I remember correctly, you stay as a weekly cycler for at least 6 years until you’re put back into daily. I changed my name 6 years ago and that’s when I was put into the weekly stack. This year it appears that I was on a daily cycle since I received the PATH message and was able to order both of my transcripts the first cycle that they completed the first batch of processing. Now it’s just the waiting game to see.
Can someone explain what letters you guys are talking about? I got the PATH message and was able to order both of my transcripts and never received any letters.
What letters?
They’re not releasing the funds until the 15th because those who file fraudulent tax returns tend to do it very early in the tax year so they can have the money and spend it before the real person files it. This way, if there are two returns for one person, the IRS can catch the fraudulent one early on and give the money to the right person.
No DDD. I filed 1/17 and accepted 1/19. My status changed to the PATH message last Saturday. I was a weekly cycler the last few years so I was shocked to see mine processed that quickly. I guess I was moved back to daily this year.
January 27, 2017 at 2:22 am in reply to: Is anyone else who was accepted before opening day #4153355I always file before opening day and gets accepted before IRS starts processing. I’m weekly so mine won’t start getting processed until week 3. I only file early to get it done and out of the way.
Look at past years transcript. If the cycle date ends in 06 then you’re weekly. Otherwise you’re daily.
Under status, it should say rejected and reason why it was rejected. Look it up and post here.
@Meow I don’t think you understand what they’re saying. The IRS is saying your transcript cannot tell you when you will get your refund. Which is completely true. What people here are asking is what being able to order transcripts mean. If you are able to order transcripts, it means that your tax return has been processed or is being processed, depending on if it’s just one or both returns.
Chase bank here. Nothing yet.
February 9th, not 16.
Your tax return was processed on February 16th last year. Last year’s cycle code has nothing to do with this year’s cycle code. Date could be slightly off. I’m having a hard time finding last year’s posting cycle chart.
No. Tax preparer fees is not an offset and not considered as one.
I knew I had an offset. I called the offset hotline before my return was processed and it said I had an offset. Once my return was processed, the offset hotline told me what amount was deducted from my refund that is scheduled to be deposited.
Offset hotline: 800-304-3107
Yes. You should amend. It will take much longer to receive your refunds but at least you won’t owe the IRS any money if they refund the money instead of flagging it.
Same here. But WMR doesn’t update till late night so we should see an update tomorrow on WMR.
Yes. WMR will update tonight. I’m on a weekly cycle and have received WMR update on Saturdays the last few years. Was able to order both transcripts today so I’m expecting to see the update tomorrow morning.
IRS isn’t open to process on the weekends. Updating of WMR is done via a set computerized schedule.
SBBT removed the date for everyone, not just certain individuals. It was causing too much confusion.
@Alabamagal87 No, that is not a cycle code. A cycle code is 6 digits. First 4 designates the year (2016), second 2 is week that year and last 2 is the day of the week.
01 = Friday
02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = ThursdayIRS week begins on Friday and ends on Thursday.
You wouldn’t be able to know if you’re daily or weekly without looking at your tax transcripts.
@Christine You are pretty much dead on. I’ve received WMR update on Saturday last year. The last few years, I’ve always received my refund on Wednesdays. I’m also weekly.
