Last year, did anyone with PATH who was in the test batch get an early refund? I was accepted in the test batch but have ACTC and EITC.

I got a email from TT that says because I claimed EITC I will be getting my taxes the last week of February and also because I chose the 5 days early it says it still should come 5 days early

Last year I had ACTC and got my refund January 31st, I just went back and checked. My husband and I were shocked, I think it’s the fastest we ever had a refund come back. I’d be happy to provide proof but I’m not sure how to upload a picture or prove it’s not doctored.

I can say that in all the years of being with/following IGMR we have never seen *anyone* with path credits (and who could provide proof) get their refund before path lifted regardless of when they were accepted. Also the IRS will still process returns as normal even if the government shuts down, even if there are credits involved.

I almost always end up in a test batch but never get my refund before PATH is lifted. Filed 1/14, accepted 1/15. ACTC, EITC, filed with TT.

I generally get my taxes accepted early but the refunds don’t get released until February 15 has passed.

Historically, the IRS continues processing tax returns during government shutdowns. You just won’t be able to call and speak with customer service.

Amy I got accepted last year but due to path they didn’t process me early like I had hoped. I wouldn’t bank on it.

@whitewolf from what I was reading – yes the potential government shutdown will pause IRS processing for people with credits or complex returns. If it’s a simplistic return with zero credits, the system does those automatically so those still get pushed through.

I am a Pather, claiming ACTC & EITC. In the past 10 years, I have been accepted into the test batch twice. I have received a refund just once…, before 2/15. More concerned if the next gov shutdown on 1/30 pauses IRS processing? 😬
