Two of us in our department at our hospital have the same codes and dates. She didn’t know about transcripts until I was bi+c#ing about it at work and she checked hers.

Strange statistically that 2 people in a VERY small rural town who both work at the hospital in the same department who filed at least 3 weeks apart, got the same codes.

Just wanted to update that my refund hit my Spruce account tonight! Not sure what time but it’s there! I just got my DDD today when my transcripts updated to 8-13! Yay!!

@whitewolf!! Congrats this gives us all hope! I’m still waiting since Jan 18, Verified on 02/20 online and with a IRS rep. Today I called and she was very nice and said they received the verification and everything looks good and they have to say at least 9 weeks from verification but it could come in earlier, she also stated it will be direct deposit. (previous rep said it was a check) My as of date also changed to 03/18. I feel good in my soul now. It will arrive. Yay!!!!

No update on wmr but I have an update to my transcript. 2023 was added today, and I think I got a 846 code and 3-13-2024 date. So does that mean it will deposited on the 13th?

They told me I need to verify over the phone and I can’t until I get the letter… I already sent the requested documents and she did confirm that.. what’s so wierd is my husband and I file with IP pins every year for prior identity theft… this was supposed to be a preventive…. idk why we would need to do this with the ip pin.

Yes right away I was shocked , so have to go down and verify even though I faxed the documents from my 12c letter they still need me to come in with my ID. She said the appointment should take about 15/20mins. Going as a walk-in on Saturday 3/16 our office all booked up

Filed/accepted 2/17. Assuming an added dependent flagged us this year. Not sure when the notification popped up that we needed to verify our 23 return, I happened to notice it some time last week on id.me. Top two n/a & bottom state no return filed w/ as of date of 3/11. WMR for hubby & I state “still processing.” No update of a letter being sent. Why are some peoples WMR “action required” & others only have a notification link on id.me, like us?

I was told they will send me a letter on 03/18/24 (my as of date) for codes 570 and 971. I didn’t pay much attention to what she said, it seems that I knew more about the process than she did. I was right, my transcripts updated less than 12 hours later with 846.

Lessons to learn:
1. the “as of date” is not the date when they will action something in the future or some sort of due date as many of us believe
2. Calling the IRS… be careful with the advice you get. They are more confused than we are. I called IRS yesterday, literally yesterday (03/07/24).

I spoke to one the same day , We were on the phone for about 45 mins and we went over all of my stuff and she was checking with the dept who had my return said i am at my last step frozen 810 and they need me to come in verify in person being the return is large . Called the IRS as I have been dealing this this since February, and was advised there is nothing to do but wait 60 or even 120 days. I didn’t get a letter yet, but if I do it will be a CP05 as per the IRS Rep. In the last 10 years, I never had to call the IRS until this year.

On your irs account on first page you will see notifications and under it you would see a verify notification towards the bottom of page I entered my 14 digit code and the notification went away that’s how I knew I was getting a letter because I had the verify notification

I think if your letter hasn’t been mailed yet the option may not come up. It was there for us though as soon as we were accepted. Update or no update for me: transcripts still blank top two n/a wmr say the same still processing it has since we’ve been able to see it it never went to path or verify message only on the online account.

Well spoke to the Tax advocate and was advised my return is froze due to having to need to Verify in person. I explained called for the last two weeks about the verify screen and was told i didn’t have to , she was very nice and advised me where i was and told me my last step was to do that and she gave me the famous 9 weeks but i made an appt and the earliest was 5/6/24 lol but my local office has Saturday 3/16/24 open for walk-ins and no appointments . i am not waiting until 5/6.

No updates! 570 for past 2 weeks, no 971 codes, per rep at IRS they did say letter was sent out a few weeks ago and I did receive it but just says we are still working on your refund/taxes but that no action is required and that’s what rep said, nothing to do on my acct that they are still processing my return. I did lose the path/152 on WMR 3 weeks ago and only thing that changes on transcripts is the as of date that has changed 4 times now.

Next year I’m not filing early. I just did my sis in laws taxes and she got hers already literally 1 week. She claimed the same exact as me. Its crazy… why flag people when they allow us to file on the 29th!!? We clearly needed it or we wouldn’t have filed as soon as we could.

@Getting impatient: you log onto your irs account and after you get your passcode it will be the page that has your account status and where you’ll see notifications. If you need to verify then it will say it on that page

I just went ahead and got a tax advocate referral. They said it takes up to 4 weeks to hear back from someone. So, hopefully they can at least get them to tell me what’s wrong or send out the letter. Not really sure how the tax advocate works.

If you’re weekly your transcripts should update today and WMR should update tomorrow. I filed 2/3. I got the the 570 code on my transcripts two weeks ago and the 971 code last week. Waiting on the CP05 letter they said that I should receive by the 18th…

Still no updates. 570 and 971 codes with same dates and NOTHING received in the mail. Well over a month since filing. Feeling very frustrated. I’ve checked IRS notices etc and nothing there either.

When does a weekly normally see movement on WMR? Friday or Saturday?

I filed on 2/2 and was accepted 2/3. I have seen nothing so far. No letters or notices, no updates at all. Just says that it is still processing. Filed single, no credits, I had 1 W2 and 1 1099, also a schedule C for a small side business.

Checking in: No movement. Verified 2/26 online with letter (which took 3 weeks to arrive). Action Req’d msg still present on WMR. Transcripts are n/a on top, blank on bottom. Recent call, and agent states after you verify it will take 2-3 weeks for system to realize you completed it. Also hearing about major USPS delays across the board, for those who are still waiting.

@starr3 where do you go online to enter this information? I’ve checked the transcripts but can’t find anything and talking with the Agents, they say that I have to wait on the notice. The transcripts say notice issued 3/18/24, so I wait until then? Is there a trick to doing it online or over the phone?
