DC shutting down shouldnt affect taxes. Their processing centers arnt in dc just the main office. It might affect people that have to be manually reviewed but to my knowledge most peoples returns are processed via computer automatically unless flagged for review and those processing centers arnt located in the are of the blizzard. So it shouldnt make any delays but I could be wrong.

I filed with tt 1/15, immediately rejected…generic code. resubmitted 1/16. Checked back a few days later tt efile details said 1/19 Ohio received on 1/19 status pending. Checked again today …tt efile details say Ohio received on 1/22 status pending. I have never had a problem with them getting accepted right away. I was just wondering what the hold up is…is it Ohio not accepting yet?…which doesnt seem to be the case…or is it Turbo tax?…a glitch etc idk.
I know where and how to check my refund status, but of course Ohio says they have not received my refund info. I called Turbo Tax they advised me that it was out of their hands since it has been submitted that I just need to wait for an accepted or rejected email.

I filed HRB 1/20 and have not been accepted. I have used them for years, always been accepted within hours. I called and the lady told me it was the IRS backed up; which makes no sense since every other company seems to be getting theirs through!

Also, my state return doesn’t get released to my state until my IRS return is accepted, so I guess I get to wait there, too. HRB may lose me over this, depending on how long the delay. They should at least be honest, instead of blaming IRS!

I filed my ohio on 1/19 accepted 1/20 checked my status and it says my refund is under manual review and if i don’t receive it in 60 days to contact them. My first time filing a state return only filed because its free through tt this year. I’m assuming that’s why I have a manual review

I’m live in a predominantly poor area so I get that people want and need their money, but why all the nastiness towards each other?

Every year I watch tax return money flow into our community like a breaking dam. I’m sure that some of the money is put to good use, but the majority of it is wasted. This is the one time of year where someone living in poverty could make a significant change in their lives if they wanted to. Stay away from the restaurants, bars, malls and stores. Prioritize and make a plan for this money. Use it wisely and your quality of life will improve.

so I filed in 1/19 and got accepted same day only problem was that wmr was not pulling up my information and I started worrying(I had a horrible experience last year with refund) so I called TT and they assured me that irs did accept my return I checked my irs app today and now I show one bar thank God. Check the ga where’s my refund page. I had to call and verify my address. I’ve had the same address for 6 years. I have a feeling they are doing this to combat fraudulent refunds and will delay them for good reason..

*The transcript theory is TRUE-mines not avaliable yet
*Last year I never got more than 2 bars on WMR and my ddd was for a Friday and I recived it at 3:30am 2 days prior.
*ACH Transfer work this way, just like payroll. I process payroll for my company: If there is to be a DD made to you scheduled for a certain day…the ach wire MUST be submitted to the recieving bank at a minimum of 2 days in advance of the scheduled date. This gives the banks time to clear the check into your account…and collect interest off of it while its in their possession. Depending on who you bank with will impact when the funds are released. A regular bank will hold your money until the scheduled deposit date. A prepaid card such as ..Rush, AmEx Serve, Netspend, etc…do NOT hold your funds and release them as soon as they recieve them…hence the advertising for *2 days early. So u have a 98% chance that if you get a date that your money is transferred 2 days prior to that for processing. I use Rush for my DD at work. I submit them by 1pm on Wednesday for a scheduled deposit on Fridays. But since I am not with a “traditional” bank, once rush recieves my ach wire they relaease it. Just FYI big black, your income does not dictate whether or not you receive a refund. It’s based on your exemptions/dependents, and if you itemize, many other things beyond my expertise that control how much tax you pay vs how much you owe. I made 113K last year, I paid 12 grand in federal income tax and I’m getting back 8 grand so not really sure what your saying.

If you lived with your parents for 10 months, doesn’t that mean your children also lived with your parents for 10 months? Who provided for them financially? If your parents can prove that they provided for your children and not you, then your parents get to claim them.

Their lawyers cannot put a stop on your return. However, they can claim your children and in that case, they will be audited and so will you, even if you have received your refund. If the IRS finds in favor of your parents, you will have to pay that money back.

And yes, your parents can take you to claims court for it. It will be be fraud. Fraud is criminal court. What they’re doing is a civil matter.

I got my deposit ladt year on a late/early wed morning….. Like 3am. So yall check this Wednesday early morning for an update. I have heaed that dd will start 29th…next friday. So based on how ach transfers work. …. A deposit date of 1/29 will have to be sent to your bank 2 days PRIOR to the deposit date…hence Friday 29th. Last year my bars went to 2…refund approved like 3 days b4 my deposit…never did get 3 bars.
The TRANSCRIPT THEORY is TRUE!! If u can order transcript….the accounting ones…that means you will have a dd date wothin 24-48hrs usually….and ur money within 3-4days after. U cannot download them online but u can request mailed. If ur able to request mailed ones and they r avaliable….your in the clear. I already tried but not ava yet

Thank you. Yes when I filled my return I stated that I had custody of them for 10 months. I did not claim all 12 months. My concern is can he sue me and file fraud charges? My father has bullied me about taxes and who claims what since I was in college and 90% of the time I backed off and gave him what he wanted. My parents have been escalatingly mentally, emotionally and financially abusive to me over the 3 years and this is the first time I put my foot down. I was hoping it would be accepted and approved before he found out but I made the mistake of telling my sister about this. It has been accepted but not approved yet. Can his lawyer put a stop on my return? Can they file fraud charges? I’m meeting with a lawyer next week, but I feel really bullied over this.
