I’m getting pretty tired of having to be reviewed by the state of Indiana every year for self employment. Like sure, once in a while is fine, but every time? It’s ridiculous. And I send in my proof of deductions immediately but don’t hear anything back for months. All we claim is mileage.

If you need to verify your identity you don’t need to wait on the letter you can create an intime account and look under letters and it will be there you can also check and see if you been audited or if your taxes are under review

Indiana state refund accepted 1/22/24, approved as of 1/26/2024.

My Indiana was accepted already, but for some reason I have ID verify every year and it sits on still processing for 3 weeks before I call and verify over the phone.

We filed 2/16 got back fed on 2/28/23 had to id verify for the state was approved on 3/1/23 said 5-7 business to receive the funds hoping it will be in there today I filed my dads taxes same day as mine on 2/16/23 he got his state approved on 2/22/23 and it was there 2/27/23 and fed was there 2/28/23! Hope this helps if it’s been to long just call and verify over the phone

Filed through turbo tax on 1/23 Maryland state received federal on 2/23 state stuck at processing. Called today & being told I have 2 state returns processing which makes no sense. Not sure if turbo tax screwed something up

Filed Indiana state return via turbo tax on 2/8/23. It was received and accepted that day. Now it just sits there for 3 wks saying it is in process, etc. I got my federal refund within a week of filing. My daughter tells me she filed her taxes about 2 wks AFTER mine and already has received IN refund.
I just assumed everything is done in order received, but I guess not. What is going on? -

All, I filed 1/27 and Indiana was accepted 1/28. I checked the website and still the same message. My daughter who was accepted 2 days later simple return high school kid hers says the same thing. State is usually 5-7 days MAX.

I have used H&R Block software for many years without any issues.
I e-filed our Federal, Indiana, and Illinois returns all on Feb 6th.
It took longer than normal but Federal and Illinois were both accepted by Feb 14th.
Indiana has still not been accepted and the Where’s My Indiana refund shows nothing when I enter our information.
I’m calling the 800 number tomorrow. The wait will likely be ridiculous and the results probably the same.

I filed 2/10 with TaxAct. For Indiana, I was accepted on 2/13 and federal on 2/12. Still nothing on my federal, no DDD on transcripts. But for state, I have a letter in the mail coming today. And the shorter still processing message on the tool. Hopefully it is just an ID verify.

I’m very confused about my status. My Indiana State wmr site has updated to the long message: “Our records show the following 1 refund(s) for the 2019 tax year:
$604 has not been processed as of this date. Some tax returns may take longer to process due to factors like return errors or incomplete information.”…..And so on. I decided to call the number in the message to see if there was a hold on the refund and it said “your refund has been received and processed, but has not yet been mailed or direct deposited. Please allow 10-14 business days for processing.”
So the website isn’t matching what’s going on with refunds? That’s a good way to keep the phone lines lit up. The number I called was 317-232-2240

I think it takes a day or so after u ID verify. I received my letter Friday and I did the quiz then. I seen another lady say she got her DDD 2 days after she ID verified. So lets hope in morning we will have a DDD.

Ended up calling, they sent a letter yesterday, but have the wrong apartment number so we’re going to the office to pick up the letter, I asked if I should bring anything with me, she said bring everything, it could be ID verify to neededing w2’s 1099’s to needing our federal 1040, so fun.

Tyler, I filed mine on 1/7 accepted on 1/9 but, they didn’t open until the 27th. And when I checked on the 28th I had the same message you have. I just updated last night to the smaller message with my refund amount with no ddd, but today when i got up and checked I had a ddd of the feb 11th. I hope that helps.

So we filed 1/28 via TaxAct and it still says processing was accepted the same day from the email they sent! We just moved so also but we have had to do the verification every year for whatever reason since we got married but once u enter the code they give u usually DD next day how it usually goes so I guess were stuck waiting on this damn paper wonder how long it will take to receive it annoyed to say the least!

My friend finally got an “accepted” email from H&R Block regarding her IN state return e-filing on 1/22. IN state WMR also updated the message to “received and processing.”
Was seriously considering refiling in another program if H&R Block didn’t fix their program by Saturday.

Helped my friend file her return using H&R Block. She filed on 1/22. Federal was accepted on 1/23, State return is still “pending” with no acceptance email from H&R Block as of today, 1/30.
Looks like H&R Block program has some glitches going on from reading in other areas of the forum. I think if it doesn’t update to “accepted by Saturday I will tell her to resubmit it using another program.
Worse that could happen is the new filing gets “accepted” right away and H&R Block’s filing gets “rejected” as a duplicate whenever they fix their software. She needs her money.

My return was accepted on the 26th and it just says its that they received it but it is processing.. I agree with you Elrod, I hope it updates tonight. Last year I checked my records and my tax refund was DD into my account on the 6th but was supposed to be issued on the 11th but my bank doesn’t hold the DD when it comes in, so I’m hoping that it will be soon. Even with the 10-14 days.. that would be the 9th or the 10th so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

@Amy I am not sure they started doing this a couple of years ago for us u get a paper it will have a code on it and do the survey… we completed our on Tuesday and Wednesday got DDD for 3/4/19. it still hasn’t been deposited yet probably the day of.. but they could also just be taking for ever. I was thinking the same thing. If I remember correctly they do not update their messages on the weekends.
Also, just a tip and an FYI; I’ve learned from years past that just because you file early doesn’t mean you will get your refund as soon as they start processing returns. I always advise my friends & family to wait until February to file both state & federal. I’m not sure why but typically they look at early filers returns a bit more throughly than later filers. Not always but a lot of times that’s the case!

Maybe those that got the long message with the refund amount that posted Friday or over the weekend will get a DDD on Monday. Seems like it usually posts the next day but maybe over the weekend it takes an extra day or two if their system doesn’t update.

To the person asking about a dd of 2/8 on emerald card , i had both and still no deposit – I’m pretty sure H&R Block to our state refunds as payment for fees – I figured they would at least give some kind of record to let us know that we receiver the state refund even if they did take it but I’ve not gotten any kind of alerts , but if you didn’t get it today and this was your dd – hr block probably took it

Later that evening it updated to a long paragraph that showed my exact refund amount.

Okay so from What i can tell… It is accurate that the day you get the long message that includes your refund amount… For example…. We are showing 1 refund in the amount of XXX and is not yet been processed…. You should get your DD date the next day. That is what i have seen with many others.. And i showed the long message yesterday with my refund amount and got my DD date today..

I’m not sure what the shorter message means. It might just be an additional standard message that the system has.
I wouldn’t suggest everyone calling in. The reps aren’t helpful unless there is an issue with your file. I honestly don’t think they can see anything more about anyone’s refund then what the website shows because it goes through an automated process unless it gets flagged. My guess is if people have issues with their return the website will update and let them know and then at that time you could call. I wouldn’t call before that as it’s just going to frustrate you that they don’t have any information and it’s not going to speed up the process.
Once a DDD is available it will show up on the website. Mine updated at 4am this morning, that’s long before any rep got to work and had that info and if it wasn’t available until 4am this morning I’m sure calling wasn’t going to give me that information as the reps probably can’t see that info until it gets processed and then it’s posted for them to see and online for us to see.
It sucks to be patient but I filed a week ago today, was accepted 1/31 so 6 days ago and my refund has a DDD already of 2/11. That’s pretty quick if you ask me. Give it time and stop stressing yourselves out. It will come!

No that doesn’t mean anything is wrong. That is the standard message everyone has once they start processing your return. The next message you should get if everything goes through correctly is the long message I posted yesterday showing a refund amount but no DDD. Then once you have that the following day it should update to the DDD message that I posted today.
So unless you have an offset or issue it looks like these are the three messages people get this year.

Indiana website just updated (at least for me). Had the long message yesterday about my refund amount but it wasn’t processed yet (seems pervious post on 2/5). Just checked again and it now says:

$$$ will be deposited on 02/11/2019.So it does look like when you get the long message with refund amount you should get a DDD the next day.
Filed 1/30 with HRB had ACTC and CTC. Accepted 1/31. Did not have fees or anything taken out.

I filed on 1/30 with H&R Block online with direct deposit. I was accepted on 1/31. This is the first update I’ve received since it updated to say my return had been received. So less then a week. Looks like their system updates daily overnight.
I will post again when/if this message changes and a deposit is received.

I’ve never had to ID verify and nothing has changed this year so I doubt that will change. Still sitting in that stupid message for the main person on my taxes and ‘not yet in process’ on the secondary person listed on the return, so they haven’t even looked at them yet.

HRB has my husband and I upload copies of our IDs with our returns which was new. Hopefully that helps. In my opinion IDs should be submitted with all tax returns, e-file and paper.

The only way to verify is after receiving the letter with a unique #. Very easy to do and like I stated before it immediately updated my info on the DOR site…Saturday around 3:30. I know mail was screwy due to the vortex here around Indianapolis so delayed it by a few days

Anyone else had issues with Indiana not depositing on said DDD? I got a ddd of 4/3 and have yet to see anything on my walmart moneycard. I called IN DOR this morning and they won’t even look into it until at least tomorrow (48 hours past the deposit date) and I have a feeling that tomorrow they are going to do the same thing to me. This is really really frustrating as I had to do the ID verification which delayed it then this happens… I had no problem with my federal return hitting my card.

IU incorrectly put my refund on hold. Contacted them and they said they released the hold 2/22….still showing on hold as of 2/27 and nothing’s updated. IU said it could now take 4-6 weeks to get my return back!!!

I would try calling them again because if you verified then you should’ve changed to the message where it has your amount you getting back it’s still processing cause the message you have now is what I was stuck on until I called them yesterday and fixed my problem and my status changed that day so I would call them again if you feel like being on hold for forever -
I called Indiana DOR. While on hold it gave the option for them to call me back when my turn came up, so I did that. But, I never got the call back. Then i Mt Internet went out so I had to call and get that taken care of. I have no Internet till tomorrow afternoon but they are taking $25 off my bill since they can’t come out today.

I was on hold with them for about 45 mins the lady that did my taxes put in for enterprise zone which I didn’t get this year cause I moved I guess she assumed I had it and I called yesterday to see what the hold up was and I told them to take that off so it reduced it by a couple of hundred which is fine by me I’m just happy to have a date finally! I checked later that day it had the message where it gave me my amount and it’s still processing message then I checked this morning and had a date for Friday -

I just looked at my refund deposit date for the last 3 years and just realized that they are all on a Wednesday. I also noticed that I filed at the end of January and I have always received it in March. Also I received a call today saying they were from the IRS and they were going to issue a federal warrant for my arrest if I didn’t call this number . I didn’t get to hear the whole message because my phones broke. I know it’s a scam. The number they wanted me to call started with a 2. So be careful out there. PLUS every year I get on these sites and learn something new! Last year I learned you could order transcripts. I had NEVER heard of those. This year I learned about SSA.GOV. You can create an account and look at your wage amounts for each year and learn how many credits you need for different benefits. I also learn how much my children and husband can get if I die. LOL -

I think at this point I’ll get my federal before I get my state. I know the IRS DD dates can be everyday of the week depending on if your daily or weekly.

Nina: Last year my letter was dated around 2/2 but I did not receive it until around 2/15. I am not sure why it took so long to get my letter. Once I verified my ID my refund was processed very quickly and was dd into my account within 48 hrs.

I received my identity verification letter on the 2nd and then on the 5th switched to a message saying I will be receiving my deposit on the 8th.

Indiana DOR just ran out of funds. All deposits will be put on hold until May at the earliest. I have an aunt who works there and she just told me. Governor Holcomb will be addressing all citizens at 9 AM tomorrow regarding this situation.

Mine is still showing the long message this morning. I just hope that if I do have to confirm my ID they send the letter quicker this year than last year. Just wanted to share my update with everyone. I filed on 2/4 and was accepted the same day. Filed with HRB.
I have been checking the online tracker for almost 2 weeks now and it just says received and it is processing, blah blah blah.
When I got home last night (16th) I had received a letter in the mail that I needed to verify my identity (I am assuming it is because I am a new resident here). I did that right away online last night (pretty easy). Then this morning when I got up and checked our status again it said that we have a DDD of 2/23 so next Thursday. Sounds like that was the only thing holding it up. Crazy that it took that long to notify us of that. Just wanted to share in case anyone else had been wondering.

Not only that but the american express serve card advertises that you get your refund 2 days faster thats why some people received their ddd on 1/31. Have you tried calling the serve card and speaking to someone?

Filed Indiana state return on the 12 and it was accepted on the 18th. My stepmom and I both received identity verification letters from Indiana DOR in the mail yesterday. Had to log on a website and take what they call a quiz to verify identity yesterday. We both passed and woke up this morning with the same DDD for our state refund.

Indiana WMR updated on 2/3 with a DDD of 2/8This might be some sort of record for Indiana. I even had an offset this year (owed a lot of Indiana taxes last year and made a payment plan with the DOR.) I’m amazed it was processed so quickly.

Filed 1/25, accepted 1/25. Got the State ID Verify in the mail 1/29. Verified online 1/29. Received DDD today 2/1 for 2/4.

Yes, my Indiana state refund was in my bank when I woke up 1/20/16, just like the DDD stated on the Indiana DOR website.

I filed through liberty tax it was sopost to direct deposit my state but screwed it up and it got mailed this year I would have it not but instead am still waiting there a joke

I filed on 1/12 both federal and state using tax act. I was accepted 1/13 for federal. My state is still awaiting acceptance 10 days later. I have several friends who used turbo tax and get deposits today. Anyone else having this problem?

I just looked on in.gov for refund information for my Indiana State return. My state return was accepted on 01/13/2016 and it says my state return will be deposited on 01/20/2016.

Mine wasn’t accepted until 1/19 and in.gov says it will be processed in under 2 weeks but DDD. Did you receive your refund?

I got this when I checked my indiana status:
Our records show the following 1 refund(s) for the 2012 tax year:
$XXXX has not been processed as of this date. Please allow 12 weeks.
What does that mean, am I under review? Federal says still processing.-
Had to file by mail (just like the last 4 years) d/t someone claiming my dependent. NORMALLY, in my case, you would send in a paper return, wait for irs to send back a letter explaining what they need from you to prove I am the one who can legally claim the dependent. Last year, I knew what would be needed so I attached it to the return and got my money within 3 weeks! This year, federal shows nothing. State says received being processed. I am having it direct deposited. How long can I expect to wait for my state return?

Thanks Lipglass. Yeah I got a 2/14 date with direct deposit. So hopefully it should be in there. I feel better.

@robinlynn You should have an update this morning telling you your DD date. Once you have an amount it tells you in a couple of days. It did the same for myself and my mom.

We didn’t get to file till 2/2 with an 8863 form using TaxAct. This is what they sent me when i asked why Indiana still says awaiting acceptance…
States prefer that there is an accepted federal return associated with the state return, therefore if you submitted your state return at the same time, it will also be held until the IRS begins processing the delayed returns.
Which sucks but whatever. I guess they will both be submitted Thursday.
