I did my return with Free Tax USA. I opened a Go2Bank checking account to see if I would get my refund 5 days early and this morning about 5am my transcripts updated and said my refund would be sent on 2/12/25. I sent part of it to the Go2Bank account and the rest to my Wells Fargo account. Well the money I was sent to Go2Bank at about 8:30am. My return was filed and accepted on 1/27. The where’s my refund app never updated.
Go2Bank is free and there is no charge to get your refund early. I’m not 100% sure but I think I saw that Turbo Tax is charging for that service which is not cool.
I got a letter from my state to verify some information before receiving my state return. Will this affect my federal return as well? Just wondering.

Looks like you got the wrong person. Sorry. I prayed before I called and I was determined to not let anyone with an attitude deter me. There have been years that I was treated just like you were. I was just going to keep calling in spite of what they said even telling them that I need the money if need be. Don’t give up and call until you get the right person.
Well, tried again. Was told ‘looks like you already called this week and we have to wait for the system to verify. You’re welcome to try again in a few weeks.’
Told them I have to call every year to verify but they didn’t care about that. Last year I filed April 15 and had refun on April 25. Year before I filed in February and got my refund in May. Hoping for not another year like that.
I called the number that was on the notice when I checked where’s my refund. The number they say to call after 12 weeks lol!

After filing, why does the transcript say that there is no transcript filed?
So with cycle code 20250206 and a 846 status should I be expecting a deposit today ?
@Bobbo, you have to choose the fraud department to get them to release it. Make sure you have your AGI and exact refund amount. Try calling again today.

@dewy around 5-6k. Still no update for me yet. I would have to assign that if there is an issue with my return i would have been informed by now. Still processing still in green

Status changed with DDD on 2/6I tried calling earlier in the week and they just said it looked fine. I told them I have to call every year and he just said “give it 90 days” Maybe today I’ll try again to see if I get someone else. They owe me $5800 this year so would be nice to have.
Maryland is actually moving like they have in the past. I expect my refund by next week.

I just checked and my 846 code updated this morning to refund issued 2-12-2025. I did file with EIC and 1 dependent.
I received my state refund today, but my federal transcripts still have no movement and wages in income transcript has no record found
You can still get your refund with the CTC whoever said that you couldn’t lied. It’s the EIC and ACTC that pushes you into PATH which is the additional child tax credit and earned income credit. If you only have the child tax credit you don’t fall under path! I wish people would understand that

They released my refund yesterday and I am just waiting for it to deposit hopefully by Monday. Every year I come on here and say the same thing. You have to call or you’ll wait forever. I verify on the Special Investigations line every year and they release my refund. And no they haven’t requested that I do that in years but I saw that simply calling to verify my info gets it released.I filed on Tuesday, February 4th.
Everyone is different! I know several that got refunds before the time was up! Law makes no never mind even the ones who make them break them!!!
IRS won’t break the law for you. You can get it early if you don’t claim those credits if you aren’t eligible. I was 2k under the limit and I automatically fall under path. Next year, even with young children, I won’t qualify. That’s the difference.
Is it still a bad thing if wmr says “still being processed”? First time I’ve ever gotten that message. Can’t see transcripts, but waiting for them to be mailed.
Hopefully this means some big changes
@VegasNich. Without getting too specific, how big is big? Mine is relatively big as I withhold extra from state to pay for my fed so mine is in the 6999 to 9999 range. Mine approved a day after many who filed the same day. I’m assuming mine is kinda on the large side but not sure where they draw the line. 10k, 25?, 5? Not sure. Hope that helps.
No change on masstaxconnect but on where is my refund updated to ddd of feb 11th…. so I’m good.
I accidentally filed and had it going to closed account call irs now expecting check anyone knows how long that can take?
Updated to DDD of 2/11 tonight.
@SamfromMA where’s my refund still isn’t showing a date and MTC still shows received and my refund amount in green in parentheses but when I called the number it gives you on where’s my refund it said my refund had been direct deposited on February 11th 2025 so I’m thinking it will update tomorrow.

I just filed today. Now walking the PATH. I don’t mind it though. After a few years of walking the line, you get quite used to it. I just made it my point to visit IGMR Forums and chat it up with fellow Path walking folk like myself. I’m just waiting my 24 hours before seeing WMR update to the classic PATH Act message. Anyways….HOWDY EVERYONE!
This way, if fraud is detected, audits are put into place for the bad seeds.
They made this rule to help with preventing tax fraud, due to people claiming those credits early and stealing the credits from parents/guardians who have legal rights to those credits. Most fraudulent returns cases come from those early returns. So they did this to block the frauds and protect the real tax payers.
Everyone who claims the EITC or the CTC will have to wait until after 2/15. No exceptions. If you had yours prior to 2/15 and you have claimed any of those credits then it had to be due to a refund loan that was given by your tax preparer. I know this, because I know CR’s, RO’s and RA’s that work for the IRS. There are no exceptions to the rule. They take this rule VERY SERIOUS due to people making fraudulent tax returns.

@boboli If you’re still around, can you tell us if your 1040 had Cross River’s account and routing number on your 1040? DO NOT post what is on your 1040. I just want to know if your personal or Cross River is there, who is processing these early deposits.
