February 26, 2019 at 10:15 pm in reply to: Who will you choose to file your taxes with NEXT YEAR? #4304534
@deepalms Yeah, I wasn’t sure about using CreditKarma last year, and people liked it last year, so that is why I tried it this year. We were planning on waiting until our next payday to file because I made the mistake of letting fees be taken out a couple years ago. It was awesome to file for free when we were ready to without being forced into upgrades!
February 26, 2019 at 8:45 am in reply to: Who will you choose to file your taxes with NEXT YEAR? #4303979This was my 1st year filing with CreditKarma, and I will definitely be filing with them from now on. I always use TT or H&R, always end up paying for their ‘upgraded services’ when starting with the free editions. Since I had a little self employment income this year, TT and H&R wanted over $100 at the end of entering all my info (I always compare because one of them is ALWAYS about $100 more or less than the other with the EXACT SAME INFO ugh) SO I tried CreditKarma. I was able to enter all my info, self employment income and deductions, completely for free. Refund about was same as TT, H&R was the one that showed a refund of $100 less this year. Screw them both. I would suggest using ANYTHING that is ACTUALLY free to file to avoid having fees taken out.
February 26, 2019 at 8:33 am in reply to: Private: Withdrawing from crack and heron for three days. GIMME MY MONEY BITCH #4303924Withdrawing from heron, huh? I’m sure one will fly back to you soon? Probably not…..
@deepalms no, Filed through creditkarma for free. TT and H&R kept wanting me to upgrade since i have some self employment income, and creditkarma allowed me to do everything I needed to do for free.
Just chatted online with Elevations Credit Union. My refund DOES NOT show up on my account when I look at it, BUT they said it is definitely pending, gave me the correct amount, and said it will not post until the 27th. Oh well. Good to know it is there!!
I have part of it going to my prepaid BankMobile Vibe card, but they usually don’t post until the exact DDD either.
I have had my refund on my bankmobile vibe card the past few years now, and whatever it was called previous to being bankmobile. Usually it is deposited around 6am on my DDD. The year prior to that though, it didn’t deposit until 215pm on my DDD, so I was panicking most of the day that day. I have never seen my tax refund come earlier than my DDD with this card, though. It would be awesome if this year is different, and I will post if I see anything!
February 24, 2019 at 10:00 am in reply to: Anybody know a way to get alot of cash off prepaid card? #4299843@tani is right. I got a car with my tax refund last year. Took my prepaid card to a bank, got $5k off my card. It is the same process as if you went to a bank and wanted to do a huge cash advance off a credit card. My prepaid card does not have fees for this process, but you may want to check and see if your prepaid card charges a fee for this.
Sweet! I have some funds going to my school’s prepaid debit card (Bank Mobile Vibe) and the rest going into an Elevations Credit Union account. Even though my card is prepaid, last couple years funds still showed up on the DDD, not early.
Yep, 20190705! Filed & accepted 1/31, 846 popped up on my transcript this morning for 2/27/19 and my processing date is 3/11/19. I don’t think processing dates are very meaningful though….
Finally got the 846 on my transcripts this morning for 2/27. Filed/accepted 1/31, edu credits and actc
Finally see the 846 on my transcripts for 2/27!
@missmarymack83
No update for me either! Filed & accepted 1/31, ACTC & Education credits.
Never saw the PATH message this year, only processing messages and disappearing bars. Cycle 20190705, no processing date, no 846 on transcripts.
My last year info is the same as your last year info.Yep, same. PATHer. Cycle 20190705, no 846 on transcripts, processing message with no bars on WMR.
February 16, 2019 at 9:20 am in reply to: WMR update to "being processed" but no 846 on transcripts. Please join #4273504Cycle code 20190705
Transcripts updated last night, no 846.
WMR updated to no bars with processing message.
I am a PATHer, but have not seen the PATH message yet this year.
WMR changed to processing message this morning, bars disappeared. No 846 on my transcripts yet. Haven’t seen the PATH message on WMR, but we do have ACTC.
Filed and accepted 1/31. Finally got access to my transcripts this morning, but no 846 yet. No change on WMR. I do have ACTC, but no path message yet.
February 9, 2019 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Last year PATHER DD on 2/22 with processing date 2/19 #4264018I do not have a processing date yet for this year, but I quit paying attention to processing dates. Last year, my processing date was 2/19 and my dd came in on 2/22. My BFF had same credits, filed before I did, got a processing date of 3/5/18, and her dd was 2/22. My cousin filed before either of us, had a processing date of 2/26, and her DD was 2/22 as well. Hope we get refunds earlier than last year, but I do not expect it.
No WMR movement, but Account transcript popped up this morning. It’s still mostly incomplete, but at least it’s moving along! I assume I will have my refund in 2 more weeks.
This is how it went last year for me (We don’t have EIC this year, but have ACTC)
incomplete transcript avail 2/9/18
Complete transcript avail and WMR updated to PATH 2/16/18 (Processing date was 2/19/18, and I know a lot of people had a March processing date but still had same DDD as I did)
WMR updated with a DDD on 2/20/18
DDD 2/22/18, was in my account by 630am that Friday.Filed through Credit Karma 1/31, accepted same day. Education and ACTC credits so not expecting an update soon. I always enter the exact same info on TT and H&R to compare, and they are always different for me, by around $100 at least. This year they both kept requiring upgrades due to my self employment income, so I tried Credit Karma. Credit Karma showed same refund amount as TT, and never required me to upgrade.
I always compare refund amounts by entering same info into TT and H&R. They are always showing a refund difference of at least $100 for me. This year, TT was saying my refund was higher than H&R, but each required upgrades during the process if I wanted to add my self employment expenses, so both wanted over $100 in the end. CreditKarma allowed me to do everything I needed to without “upgrades”, and the refund amount on CreditKarma was the same as the one showing in TT, so I used CreditKarma for the 1st time this year. Filed and accepted same day.
Got my refund! Just need to remember to use my bluebird card next year lol
I have to pay for my last couple classes to get my bachelor’s degree (financial aid capped out), and get a car, and of course, I gotta have me my boats ‘n hoes as well.
I think the ‘we don’t hold funds’ line is kinda BS when it comes to tax refunds.
Here is their reply to me last year when I emailed customer service inquiring about pending deposits 1 day before my DDD:Response Via Email (Deny Abindan) 02/22/2017 01:12 PM
Dear Ashley,Thank you for contacting Customer Care with your inquiry. We will be happy to assist you with this matter.
Please be advised that you can certainly have your tax refunds directly deposited into your account. Naturally, no fees will be assessed to your account for these incoming funds.
You can provide your routing and account numbers to the applicable office. Your account and routing numbers can be accessed by logging into the cardholder website with your username and password. Once you are logged in, you can find your account information in the ‘My Account’ menu, by selecting ‘Account Statements’. For security purposes, we are unable to transmit these numbers via the Internet to you.
For reference, tax refunds are sent via an ACH Transfer and take two to three business days to be received. The date posted on the IRS website is the Disbursement Date. This is not the date the funds will be transferred into your account.
Once received, the funds will be fully and immediately available to you.
We hope this information has been helpful.
If there is anything else we can do to help you, please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email or by calling the toll-free number listed on the back of your card 1-877-327-9515 between the hours of 8am and 11pm EST 7 days a week. We would be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
BankMobile
Customer Care DepartmentLast year, the bank rep did say they release funds as soon as they received them. That was another reason why I thought it would come in a couple days early at least, but never did. When I used Netspend a few years ago, I got it several days before my DDD. It looks like Amex Bluebird has been the first to release funds to customers these past 2 years though. I’d probably go with them.
@Aksha Yeah, not getting my hopes up for early deposit, but if anyone does get their DDD before the 22nd, please post about it!!! I was SO SURE that it would be in my account at least a couple days before my DDD last year, but I was wrong.
Student loan surpluses come super fast, but last year I had my tax refund deposited on my Bank mobile vibe card, and the funds were released mid afternoon on the 23rd, which was my DDD on WMR and on my transcripts. I know for sure because I emailed customer service when I woke up last year on the 23rd and my funds were still not in my account, so I have the old emails discussing it. I REALLY HOPE to get it earlier this year, but I highly doubt it due to what happened last year. There were no issues with my refund, and I paid my filing fees in advance, so nothing held it up last year, it just wasnt available to me until my actual DDD
I have had prepaid cards for years. They are NOT worth it if you CAN have a bank account. Some people with bad credit, especially those that owe debts to banks, cannot use a bank account, so that is why prepaid cards are so common. Its not like you can owe $500 to Wells Fargo and go apply at Chase for another account. It is pretty standard for direct deposits, including tax refunds, to have NO FEE associated with that type of deposit. However, depositing cash can cost around $5 to deposit, and monthly fees can go from free if you have a certain amount of $$ coming in via direct deposit to $10/mo if you are poor and do not have enough funds coming in. Some charge $1 per transaction. Some cards release funds right when they get a DD, which is why some peoples tax refunds and direct deposited paychecks come in early. Some hold on to direct deposits like banks do, and release them the day they are supposed to (i.e. ON payday instead of before, or ON a tax refund DDD instead of before)
Filed and accepted 1/30. This morning I woke up to “We have received your tax return and it. is being processed.” on WMR, transcripts updated to code 846 refund issued 2/22. Cycle code 20180505, processing date 2/19.
@Tall drink I wouldn’t worry. I had the PATH message and woke up to the same message you did on WMR this morning. I can access my transcripts online though. 846 refund issued for 2/22. Cycle 20180505, processing date 2/19.
@Trisha Your tax returns are for the previous year, not upcoming, so 2017 is transcript year you want to pay attention to.
Filed and accepted 1/30, my 2017 transcripts were available online since 2/2. Just waiting and hoping the transcripts update on Friday with code 846.
@Skittlez I have codes 150, 806, 766 and 768. Next to 806, it says “W2 or 1099 withholding”. The amount next to 806 is the correct amount of our w2 withholding combined with my 1099 withholding amount, so I know that includes my 1099. SSA.gov had my self employment income on their since 2/2. I filed on 1/30.
Filed and accepted on 1/30. The Colorado WMR sat on “return not received or not yet processed” until this morning. Finally moved up to “Return Received & Being Processed”. I do have EIC and ACTC.
I hope they roll out refunds soon, but I would highly doubt that any of us will see $$$ in our accounts on the 15th unless there is code 846 on the transcripts with a DDD already, which I have not seen anyone with EIC/ACTC have yet. I hope when someone has code 846 on their transcripts that they will post about it!
Last year, my processing date was 2/27. The date by code 846 (refund issued) was 2/23, and I received my funds on 2/23. Some DDD’s were before the processing date last year, some were after. I read that for some, WMR updated on the 16th & 17th with a DDD, mine updated on the 18th, and some never updated at all before receiving their DD in their accounts. Last year my account transcript updated the day before WMR, so I suspect transcripts for weekly people may update this Friday with a DDD for the following week. Fingers crossed!!Prior to PATH, the cycle codes were a good way for most people to figure out when you would get your DDD. The cycle codes are still good indicators of when you will see your DDD IF PATH DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. My cycle is 20180505, but that isn’t going to tell me when I will get my refund this year because I have EIC and ACTC.
As for the processing date: Last year, I, along with a lot of people, had processing dates of Feb.27th and received their refunds on the 22nd/23rd. There were also some people who got a DDD a few days AFTER the processing date.
This year, my processing date is 2/19. Most likely, WMR will update on 2/17 with DDD’s for the following week. I think it is possible there will not be updates for some people until 2/24, but it’s still fun to guess!! :)Basically, you will know your DDD if you can view your transcripts and see code 846 with a date, or when WMR updates with a DDD.
@negasonic teenage warhead Oh okay, I see what you mean. I just go off the transcripts unless I cannot view them online, which happened last year. Good to know there is an alternative way to know if its processed if you can’t view your transcripts and have self-employment income though!!
I think weekly people will wake up to direct deposit dates next Saturday, the 17th for the following week. Not sure for daily people.
Are you calculating your possible ddd from ssa.gov having your self-employment income listed, or just saying that it is another indication of your refund being approved? MY ssa.gov account does show my self-employment income, but my transcripts have been near completion (just no 846 w/ddd) since 2/2/18. Thanks! :)
February 10, 2018 at 9:35 am in reply to: If you’re weekly when will your transcripts update? #4212410No WMR or transcript update for me today! Hopeful for an update next week though.
Cycle 20180505
Processing date 2/19/2018Filed & accepted 1/30
EIC & CTCLast year my DDD was 4 days before my processing date, so I was really hoping that would happen again, but noooOOOOooooo.
No 846 for me yet. Following to see if anyone with these credits does have 846 though!
February 8, 2018 at 6:10 pm in reply to: Prediciton of earliest PATHers deposits. Comment with your last years File – DDD #4210289Last year, the processing date on my transcript was 2/27. WMR updated on 2/18 with a DDD of 2/23, and that is the date I got my refund. This year, the processing date is 2/19, so I think it will come before that, but either way, I believe it will be here this month. I think some weekly people will see an update on the 10th for a mid-Feb DDD since that is when they are supposed to start rolling out, and I think more people will see WMR and/or transcripts update on 2/17 for a DDD for the following week.
@Katie That was pretty much our situation last year. We would have been homeless without help. Reach out to every single church you can, and see if your local Department of Human Services offers emergency assistance. With the help of 4 churches and department of human services emergency assistance, we were able to secure our new place prior to our tax refund coming in.
@Skittlez I hate this PATH thing too. I filed 1/30, accepted same day. I was first able to view my transcripts 4 days ago, but of course that just means it is processed.
Also, we had an offset 2 yrs ago for forgetting to add one of my husband’s W2 from 4years ago, and then last year we had a $25 offset from state tax, which idk how that works…you would think they would have just reduced our state refund, but both times, our offsets have never delayed our refunds.
@Cryskelly No, our error did not delay anything. I got my refund last year on 2/23. Not sure why you don’t see a path message yet, but I see that some other people do not have a path message either.
@Cryskelly We messed up wages on our taxes last year. It did make a difference in our refund amount though. We just waited until the refund came in, then amended our return, and got the difference back a couple months later.
@Lady V Thanks for that info! I was wondering why it kept showing not received/not processed. That makes sense!
@Skittlez The dates Veronica posted go off the assumption that the DDD will be AFTER the processing date. For cycle code 20180505, the processing date for most people says “2-19-2018.” But I highly doubt the DDD will be in March for us. I am thinking the
Last year, the processing date for most with eic and/or actc was 2-27-17. Last year on 2/18, my WMR updated with a DDD of 2-23-17, and I received my refund on 2-23. From what I have read on forums, last year’s DDD for many people was around 2-22 or 2-23, depending on their bank and whether they paid fees upfront or had them taken out of their refund.
I don’t think cycle codes mean a whole lot to us with the PATH message, and for some, especially with processing dates of 2/12 with no code 846 on the transcript yet, the processing date doesn’t mean much either since there won’t be updates until mid February anyway.
@jen The cycle dates are on the account transcript.
I am cycle code 20180505 as well.
If you see code 846 on your transcript with a date, that is the DDD.However, if you have the path message, don’t go by the cycle code for a date. I am hoping WMR will update on the 10th with a DDD for the 15th, but we will see!
Looking at last year’s transcripts, the processing date was 2/27, and last year WMR updated on 2/18 with a DDD of 2/23.
This year’s transcripts have a processing date of 2/19, so that is why I am hoping for a DDD a few days prior to that.
February 6, 2018 at 10:58 am in reply to: 2018 Early Acceptance AND I can order my 2017 transcripts by mail #4207144Last year’s transcripts show my processing date of 2/27/17. On Feb 18th, WMR updated with DDD was 2/23/17, and it was in my account on 2/23. This year’s processing date shows 2/19 (cycle code 20180505), so I highly doubt it would come in March after the processing date. I would think it would come a few days prior to the processing date, just like it did last year for most people. Looking over the forums, most people had their refund in their accounts on 2/22 or 2/23 and their processing dates for last year were 2/27 as well.
February 4, 2018 at 6:26 pm in reply to: If you updated today, (2/3) what’s your cycle date? #4205627@Christy My cycle is 20180505 as well, with the processing date on of 2/19. I looked at last years, and the processing date was 2/27, but my DDD was 2/23, so I would think there is a chance it will come prior to 2/19.
I paid TT this year because in 2017, I drove for Lyft for a while and got a 1099k. The prior year, we had our own business and self-employment income. All prior years, I used free editions of TT or H&R. I compare them every year, enter the same info. In 2014, H&R came back with totally wrong amounts for credits (about a 1k difference between H&R and TT) so I filed with TT. This year, if I had filed with H&R, I would have gotten back $500 LESS. I have no clue how this happens with entering identical info, so if you do your own taxes, I would ALWAYS COMPARE to make sure you actually get your correct refund amount.
Filed 2/4 last year, ddd of 2/23/17.
@amanda I haven’t heard anything about paper checks. TurboTax says Colorado accepted my return on 01/30, but the CO state WMR shows no info found.
@Ginger The transcript probably has not updated completely yet. As of today, I can pull my account and return transcripts. On the account transcript, my cycle code is 20180505 but no code 846 yet. 846=refund issued.
Anyone have their DDD yet?!
haha kidding. Filed and accepted today. Hoping there aren’t delays, but at least this year it won’t kill me if it is delayed!
February 22, 2017 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Ddd 2/23/17 Please let us know if you receive your funds earlier and with what i #4184443LadyBug I bank with Higher One as well. DDD 2/23, nothing pending, but I suspect it will kinda be like the student loan surpluses where you don’t see anything pending but goes through pretty fast, at least I hope!
TC36: We have always used prepaid debit cards where only one of us was listed on the account, sometimes me, sometimes my husband. It has never made a difference that one of us were not on the prepaid account. Hope that helps!
Filed and accepted 2/4. Went to 2 bars 2/9, then both bars disappeared 2/17, still no bars as of today. I have read this is common for a few days prior to all bars returning with a DDD though, so hopefully that is the case!
Filed and accepted 2/4, updated with DDD 2/23 on 2/18. Filed with H&R Block, fees paid for during filing, using a prepaid debit card through my school (Wex Bank). They post deposits very quickly once they receive them just like with my old netspend card. No funds yet, but I do not expect to receive them prior to 2/23, honestly.
@chris I did not opt for Netspend, have DDD of 02/10 and have no pending deposits yet. I have First Bank in Colorado.
Filed 1/19 w/TT, accepted 1/19, $8k+ refund, AOC & EIC, able to order return transcripts 02/05, DDD of 2/10 on 02/06. $1k offset from owing 2013 taxes so tax topic further explained why but I was already expecting that. Good luck to all who haven’t seen anything yet!

As of now (3:08am mst) I can finally order return transcripts using my current address, not just account transcript at the old address! Its progress lol Still 1 bar tax topic 152, no pending deposit (my bank has 24 hr assistance)
@randy its the return transcript
Yep, as of now (3:08am mst) I can order return transcript with my current address, not just account transcript at the old address! Its progress lol Still 1 bar tax topic 152, no pending deposit (my bank has 24 hr assistance)
@Tyla19th heck yes!!!! Go $$$$ and go broncos! lol
I agree with all of you. Totally ridiculous. Its not like there is a huge difference in the amount of people that file their taxes in January every single year. The whole “overloaded” and “unprepared” excuses are BS. They get their taxes out of our paychecks whenever we get our checks immediately, therefore, they should have some idea who will be filing right away and who won’t because they can see how much $$ we make or don’t make. There is no reason for the IRS to be “overloaded” or “unprepared”
Found it!
Filed w/ TT 01/18, accepted 1/19 EIC, AOC, 3 dependents, 1 bar tax topic 152, no return transcripts available yet
According to bank statement from last year, refund was deposited 02/04/2015 (even with AOC delay)
Cycle 05 past 3 yrs, cycles 04 and 02 previous to that
Called IRS this morning. He stated that WMR should show an update by 02/10 with a DDD of following Friday, but the 9th is the 21 days for me. He also indicated that the 21 days is NOT 21 business days so none of what he said made sense because he claimed there was nothing wrong and no delay on mine. He just said to “feel free to call back after the 9th” so who knows!!@Kim Could you post a link? I get ‘server error’ when i try to search for it. I got the friend request though :)
@Sandy I have the AOC, filed 1/18, accepted 1/19 TT, cant order return transcripts, 1 bar. There were delays with AOC last year and a few of the people I have seen talk about delays this year were posting articles from last year so not sure if there is REALLY a delay again this year or not. I have not read any legit articles stating anything about AOC delays this year though.
@Kim I think that would be a good idea but even this group says “accepted 1/19” and there are several users who were accepted different days that participate in this thread anyway.
@Aprilynn thanks! I appreciate it! We are in CO and rents are soooo outrageous so if the tax refund doesnt come in time to keep us in our current apt, we will have to move out of state! Just crazy here!! Here’s to hoping all of us get updates soon!! :)
@Aprilynn no problem! I am doing the same. We lost our only income last December and my husband did find another job, but won’t have a check in time to avoid eviction. The wait sucks!!!
@jumill87 got the same email from TT this evening. I was really hoping for DDD of Friday but not holding my breath! @Aprilynn codes are from return transcripts from previous years. I was in the 05 cycle the past 3 years and was 04 and 02 prior to that. I think a lot of people assume they are in the same cycle as the past few years. It’s hard to tell this year because you can’t see return transcripts online for this tax season anymore and have to order by mail but they are having ‘technical difficulties’
@11chelseab1219 I go by the possibility of it being an 05 cycle for me based on return transcripts from the past 3 yrs, but it was different cycles before that. Its really impossible to tell if cycles changed again or not because those that can order return transcripts can only order via snail mail. Last year you could pull them up online. .
Did anyone who filed with TT on the 19th get a DDD for Friday?? I filed with TT and no update, but those who put who they filed though and got a DDD for Friday seem to mainly from H&R Block, Tax Act, and Liberty Tax….
