Yes the healthcare/ no insurance 600 dollar penalty is an offset. But there is a phone number to call to see if you have any offsets. Just google the phone number and you will enter your info and it will let you know if they found anything

I just spoke with one lady who told me nobody has gotten their returns or been approved when my friends sister got hers this morning an had a ddd of 1/29 an has been approved since 1/21 so yea ppl are randomly gettin approved an I basically argued with her bein I’ve seen it myself. She then said its goin to be at least 21 days till ppl are approved. Idk but I’ve seen the screenshots with names an balance accounts an I don’t believe anything she said but hey she works there not me so until I get a text/email I’ll be clueless. But I am on hold again for irs only due to my friend beggin me to find out cuz she’s at work an can’t call. So I’ll update yal once I get answers from the next irs worker.

Two things guys…

1) If you have a phone, don’t forget you can call the IRS Refund Hotline as much as you want. That info is and will reflect what’s on the website once you’ve maxed out. I know, because I maxed out yesterday and call about 5 times sadly lol.

2) I called the IRS a few minutes ago to order my 2015 transcripts (although I knew the information on the site said I needed to fill out a form or call the automated line to order yesterday, and today having the message of “no records…). He said “they didn’t have my transcripts yet, and asked me if I filed already, and I said yes, I was accepted on the 12th (don’t know what to draw off of that).

He then asked me if I needed my 2014 and I said sure (to get my code).

He then (without me asking) when verifying my past accounts, told me last year i was accepted on the 31st, and funds were available (deposited) on Feb 11th (a Tuesday). Based on that math, unless there is some kind of hold up at the IRS we should have our funds by the 2nd.

So like I’ve told everyone before calm down and breathe. You should see action on friday in the am. I have an insider at the irs in Austin tx that I believe. So don’t believe all this false hope bs. Just relax and breathe don’t even check your stays anymore. It updates 1 time a day usually overnight. Go play with the kiddos wake up about 7am and you should have a lovely text/email.

@kriston- add much as I would love my money tomorrow, that chart isn’t made by the irs. It’s just an estimation based on DDD from previous years. If you read the fine print, it basically tells you it’s just adn educated guess, unfortunately. I wish it were solid information, but it’s not. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I just don’t want you to get your hopes up.

@Melissa, it just depends. How long have you been in default? Are you in collections yet? Have you gotten a TOP offset letter yet? If you log into your myeddebt.gov and look under my account you will see where it will say if you have been sent an offset letter. That’ll let you know. If you owe more than what you will receive in federal, then unfortunately, you should make the call to the TOP hotline and at least prepare yourself. Good chance that offset you for the fiscal year if you’re in collections.

Do you have any outstanding student loans? The TOP hotline is known for not being accurate. As it says in the disclaimer, to check back as the database changes daily. I would call and talk to an actual TOP service rep just to make sure though. Especially if you don’t owe, and with the IRS being so heavily guarded on fraud this year, you might want to keep your defenses up if you don’t owe.
Now if you do, then I strongly urge you to log into your Student federal FSAID account and see where your original loans stand. If they are in default, then you’ve got problem’s of actually looking at an offset. At this point, you’ll need to locate who has your loans now and if they have been sold to a collection agency on behalf of the Dept. Of Ed. to collect. You can go to: myeddebt.gov to create your account if your account is in default. Then they will have all of the information as to whom, if it is sold as of yet, your collection agency is with how to contact them.

We moved this year and when trying to order them it can’t find us at old or new address and then the next time I try it will find us at the old address only and back and fourth again….Who knows?! Hi all just wanted to share some info for the longest since my acceptance the status of my Georgia refund has stated:

“Your return has been received, and it is currently being processed. Please contact the Georgia Department of Revenue at 1- 877-GADOR11 (1-877-423-6711) option 3 to speak with a Representative.”

I wasn’t gonna call because I was hoping it would just update on its own but it didn’t Anyway I called the number and hit the option provided, I was asked a few questions name address ssn and where i was employed for the year 2015 and just like that my refund was released. Don’t wait guys go ahead and call so you can get the same results. I checked the status again and it shows processing and the message to call the number is gone.

Crystal I wasn’t doubting what she told you at all. I just know that there have been some early filers approved so everyone isn’t on hold for 21 days. I never count on mine sooner than 21 days just because you never know, but I’ve never had to wait 21 days either. I just feel like the IRS has been telling everyone who calls that they have to wait 21 days from the 19th until they will receive it just to be sure they don’t call back and that clearly isn’t the case for everyone.

i can only trll you what the lady at the IRS said to me. When you got accepted before the 19th that was actually inaccurate. They have this hold pattern as the people who filed on time are approved early filers drop in the que. badically we have to wait til our names / ss# are dropped into the que.

Maybe she was just trying to blow me off. I mean I did call at 8:30 am lol. But regardless its 21 days from the 19th and thats that.

Hopefully we wake up tomorrow with money in our accounts, but I wouldn’t count your chickens before they hatch we technically still have til about the 9th of Feb before we can call and actually be helped or raise hell lol..
