I am in exactly the same boat. Filed and accepted 2/4. EIC, Education Credit, Capital Gains, and SE. Thing is it is the same as other years and It has been a while since I waited this long for DD. I do take heart in seeing others are in my situation and there are those that are waiting even longer. It seems that DDD dates are just being randomized this year. The IRS has no rhyme or reason for how they do things. I really long for a FairTax to do away with this headache every year.

I have the 570 and 971 codes and filed with Taxact on 1/20. I haven’t talked to anyone as of yet. I was able to file my kids this year and that’s the only thing different. I’m not sure what number to call and extension to talk to someone. Seems there are alot of people dealing with the same issue. Frustrating to say the least!

My return was accepted on 2/4, today is 2/12, and i am still on one bar and no change. Last year, my return was accepted on 1/31 and my refund was direct deposited to my Netspend card on 2/11.
Im hoping i get my refund by 2/17….just under 2 weeks, but im losing hope. Any others accepted on 2/4 receive their direct deposit date (DDD) yet? Trying to keep the faith, but hey….

I filed 2/3, was accepted 2/5. WMR was on one bar until yesterday (2/11) morning it had moved to bar two with a DDD of 2/13/14. My transcript became available the day before (2/10), with code 846 cycle 20150602, so I knew I was good. SBPT bank as of this morning is showing my refund with fees taken out. Praying is hits my bank tomorrow or even today since I’m with a credit union. Refund Dust to all.

Hello Bart. So I tried to see if I can update my information on IDverify online. I could not. So I called the department that handles these issues. The woman I spoke to checkd and said my return was not sent to her section. But instead my return was ‘rejected’. Not to me, just rejected out of their system on 2/5 (the day I lost my bars) and now it has to go through the process again and it will take 6-8 weeks. Seriously?!?

After reading many posts on this site, we called the IRS since it is now been over 21 days. Our transcript has codes 150-806-766-768-570-971. I have studied up on the codes and know that the last two are the troublesome ones. The IRS said that according to the date by the 971 that the letter will be sent then, for whatever reason. Then it will be 45-60 days that we may see our refund. By the way e-filed with Tax Act on 1/20 accepted within an hour. We got our Georgia refund within 10 days.
These “random” reviews are a bit crazy, or is it really that they are having that many issues at getting things caught up.

I really does seem to get slower and slower every year! Last year, we had to wait about 6 weeks to get our refund! I just about drove myself insane waiting. That was the longest we’ve ever had to wait and I’m just hoping that this year isn’t going to be a repeat of that! What ever happened to the days of getting your refund within just a couple of weeks or less??? I know that it hasn’t quite been a full 2 weeks since we filed, but after our experience last year and how long we had to wait, I can’t help but be impatient and frustrated!

I filed on Jan 29 , accepted on the 30th. It has been sitting at “Return processed but refund not approved ” ever since. On Monday Feb 9th I received a letter requesting hard copies of all W2s. I sent them off immediately.

Today I got through to a human (yay) and she told me that Oklahoma was one of the 18 states affected by the Turbo Tax fraud issues. I happened to file Turbo Tax this year. For security purposes they are requesting W2 verification on random people, especially Turbo Tax users. That is what is holding up our refund, she told me it may take several more weeks to process once they receive our hard copies. Oh well.

Now for my question: I filed on 2/4 @ 6:00 pm, accepted at 6:45 pm. After reading on this as well as other forums, I have discovered I am in the “weekly cycle” (05). I still only have one bar on WMR, and all transcripts are N/A. I am unsure how the weekly cycle works and was wondering if you could explain it. I am thinking I should see some movement either tonight or tomorrow night, if not, I probably will not see anything until either next Thursday or Friday, is this correct?

@ Mina I called the Taxpayer Adovate line. If its been over 21 ddays they can assign you an TA and give you some insight as to what’s holding up your return. But if it hasn’t been 21 days you have to do a little prying from the IRS. Also the TA only helps if you have an hardship :(. Anyway the Taxpayer Advocate number is 1-877-777-4778. Just to be sure the IRS number is 1-800-829-1040 (1,2,2,4,1 are the prompts to reach a live human)

Filed on 2/4 (at night) and only have one bar. Found out yesterday that I have an offset. Called IRS and they said that the offset won’t delay my refund, but I’m not sure. I almost always have my refund within a week of acceptance. My offset is from some NYS taxes I owe. Just filed my state return yesterday and it says it’s in the final stages of processing. Hoping that I get a DDD soon.

@ Mina I filed 1/20. WMR bars disappeared 2/2 and gave me the msg “Your refund is still being processed a date will be given when available” No transcripts or anything. After countless calls to the IRS getting no information. My WMR status changed this morning to “we have recieved your return and its being processed”. I called my advocate and she advised me that my refund was hung up due to verifying my info (I have a ID theft indicator) but someone got to my return and fixed whatever it was that was delaying it. She said it was corrected on the 10th. and now it looks like I will get my refund by next Friday (Thank God!) The wait is almost over folks. However she did say some people aren’t going to be handled as fast as mine. Some won’t get their refunds until after July.

From my understanding of the manual, the standard IRS policy for “identity verifying” returns is 14 days before they are either given a 70 day freeze or released to process in the cycle they are in. Many of us who filed on 1/20 are being told it was actually accepted 1/22 on their end. The past few times I spoke with reps, they confirmed they actually pulled my return on 2/5 to begin processing. This is exactly 14 days from the 1/22 date they use for acceptance!!! I already know I’m a weekly update (05) from the last TA I talked to, would this mean that an update tonight could be expected?

@ Jenni – Same situation here! We filed on 2/1 via TaxAct and were accepted immediately. My brother-in-law also filed on 2/1 also using TaxAct and he had his refund in less than a week! He got it that Friday, the 6th! Unbelievable!

I wonder why some people have the amount missing and some don’t. Or why some still have topic 152 and others don’t.

Not “everybody” who filed and received on 1-23 has been “lucky”.
Tomorrow is day 21 for me and it has never taken more than 10 days, usually less than a week for me.
I can only guess this:
ACA added a burden to the system
Staff cuts made it far worse
Massive fraud caused an high level decision to cripple the system
Multiple mistakes on the IRS end
Unwilling to admit error or clueless of it

I’d go further and say that people without refunds yet were not “re-sequenced” or pulled up idVerify – more like everyone was scuttled and the people who *have* gotten refunds were randomly pulled for manual processing.

They are not 1 day behind on day 22, they are really more like 11 days and the “cushion” has run out on them.

Of course that is all hyperbole and conjecture (BS) without proof, but *something has happened this year. I realize that most people abandon this site as soon as they get paid or announce they got paid, and that leaves the voices of those who haven’t been paid back yet – BUT I don’t buy it. Something huge is amiss (and it ain’t just o-care)

Rant over – but never again for me. I was an idiot and counted on it. Some people simply NEED it and these delays create hardship

I did speak with a representative yesterday regarding the 1121 Code and the refund cancelled. (841, I believe). The only thing she would tell me is the return was pulled for review and we would receive either a letter 4464C or a CP 05 letter and it would take 60 days. She would not elaborate on anything further.

I found this on the IRS website from one of their manuals. She told me this exact thing.

So I filed 1/29, only to find out I wasn’t accepted til 2/2. 0.00s on acct trans, others n/a, filed via TT. Now when I called because of an issue concerning my 2013, I asked if my 2014 was on hold due to this issue. Rep puts me on hold for about 7 minutes, comes back and says first that I’ve been set back a cycle, and that I’ve also been randomly selected for review.

How true is this? What does ‘set back a cycle’ mean? I am still one bar with WMR, and was only able to see acct trans on 2/6. Does a cycle mean a week? Can I very possibly expect an update tonight/Friday?
