That sounds interesting. It would be especially nice to know why some returns/refunds get processed so quickly even when they were accepted later than others. I would like to know how some people got 2/1 Direct Deposit dates when they only started processing on 1/30.

I e-filed and got accepted the same day (28th), and finally yesterday had a DD of 2/6. Now my personal theory is this; Those with a DD of 2/4 got their refund on Saturday because in order for them to receive it on 2/4 the IRS would have had to deposit them on Sunday which the IRS is closed on Sunday, I think us 2/6ers will see our refund on Wednesday. I am just grateful I’m not stuck in processing and finally have a DD! Good luck to everyone!

I filed on the 26th through H&R Block online. Got an email at 2:42pm on the 30th that I was accepted. I have been processing ever since. I did get a text from H&R Block on the 1st that it was accepted. But I think everyone got one that day from them. I tried to get my transcripts but can’t, it tells me I need to fill out a form or call. The thing is, this year my filing status changed from Married filing separate to HoH and also my address changed. Could this be the hold up, if so how long do you think it will hold my refund up?

I’m a 29 er/30 and I woke up to a dd finally!! 2/7 baby!! I don’t expect it any sooner last yr I got it around 4 or 5 am on my exact dd!! Good luck n god bless !! Has anyone else received this message about their tax situation. 25er here filed on 20th with Tax Act. Everything the same just did a split disbursement of funds for the first time this year is the only difference. IRS as of Friday said no flags or nothing they saw that would stop the refund, no offsets.

i called the offset hotline and it says they took the child support out of my irs payment dated for feb 6th 2013. i havent gotten a DD date yet but the hotline says a future date. I wonder if i will see it in my bank that day.

Just an update here. For those of u who have the 8863 form, if u are on hold and wish to refile w/out the form best to do so with the same software that u used first.the irs only acknowledges the last return filed. Where as if u use 2different programs, the retufn without the form will get accspted and processed. Then the return on hold will get sent when its time…will put you at risk for fraud audit! Hope this helps :)

Filed with Taxact on 1/20, Accepted 2/1, no DD date yet. I opted to have fees taken via Republic Bank, then Deposited into my Rushcard Checking account. Rushcard is the best, thru my employer our payday is on Tuesdays and my check ALWAYS gets deposited 4 days early on Friday night, 6pm on the dot, so I’m hoping to have my refund deposited early as well..fingers crossed! Was able to print out both on Transcripts 2/1. (Yes, the Transcript Theory is True). Did much research on it.
Where’s My Refund (WMR) updated with a DD on 2/3 sometime after midnight.
DD Sched for 2/7.

After lurking on this site and investigating others, I realized that this is the pattern if you just have a simple return. (No 8863, offsets, reviews, audits, or other delayed forms.)

So this should help others to stay strong and hang in there. This is the pattern.

I am a fellow 8863 er . I filed 1/10 accepted 1/24. Been lurking non-stop since 1/25. Please see the post I found on TT forums. A person posted an email they received from TT stating they are now processing 8863 forms. You will have to scroll down through many posts. It says she posted it 4 hours ago.

Book, USAA still pays 2 days early. My husband and I have two joint checking accounts which typically are paid 2 days before our paydates. Depending on the day that it falls on, it may be up to 3 days early, but always at least 1 day early.

Looking forward to our pay checks early on Monday [due Tuesday], and our IRS refund as well [2/6 DD]. Will post once I see it :)

I also filed on 30 accepted on 31 but really strange when I check IRS app for iPhone says accepted and sent for dd with no reference number and says null at the bottom don’t know wth that means I received a text from hr block saying congrats IRS accepted your return but what really confuses me is wmr says processing? I pulled transcripts last night, not to see if this theory is right, but because I needed it for a loan. Anyway I got a deposit date tonight. 2 dependents, couple of w2’s, that’s it. No deductions or write offs, no home buyers credit. My tax return is almost identical as last year.

Wanted to give some of my input also, as I have been checking the IRS website daily for any updates regarding my DD. I filed through TurboTax on 1/29 , accepted 1/30 , checked the IRS refund status and it is shown as approved , DD is scheduled to be sent 2/7 !

heard that if you were not accepted you could go to a different tax prep company and file through them without 8863 and IF that one gets accepted the pending one with 8863 will be rejected. Once you receive your refund you can then file an amended return with the 8863 form for the balance of the refund due you. Hope that helps.

Hello, I efiled my taxes online with hrblock on jan 30th with the 8863 form. (because i wasn’t aware of the delay on the form obviously, or i would have filled regular, and amended later for my education portion.) Anyways, I received the email below from hrblock on feb 1st:

We’ve received your e-filed return. The IRS has notified us that it won’t be accepting returns that include certain forms until later. This delay is industry-wide, regardless of tax preparation method.
Your return contains 1 of these forms. Until the IRS is ready, your return is being stored on our secure servers.

HRB in office on 19th was accepted 1/30 and in processing until today. Claimed EIC for my 2 sons. Just read more about it meaning being flagged for fraud. Trying to be hopeful and fight this sinking feeling in my stomach
