I am in enrolled agent so I always do my own taxes however this year I was diagnosed with colon cancer so I really need the money right now so I went ahead and paid TurboTax even though I swear my clients tell me how bad they are just to get the refund advance. Said I was only eligible for opted $250 yet my refund is $8,000 I feel like these refund advance places are a crock of crap. I will never do this again I will always file my own tax returns I can’t believe I paid someone else to do it.
This happened with the stimulus last year too the IRS corrects it and you’ll get the correct amount owed to you it may take longer so be aware. Do not amend your tax return it will be a nightmare for you amended tax returns are taking at least a year to process.
Sorry 1/21*
Tonight into tomorrow. It will start being released in batches!
February 25, 2020 at 7:10 pm in reply to: TurboTax/Greendot Card DD 2/26 NO FEES OR ADVANCE #4378429🙋🏼♀️ Which is weird considering you would think we’d get it first 🤷🏼♀️
@ayannasade I file my own return with my own software since I’m Tax Preparer so no fees and I still don’t have it either. 🤷🏼♀️ Who knows.
@Rianej hope you’re talking about the other Sarah. Because if you aren’t you’re very misinformed. I can’t owe the IRS or state as a tax Preparer. I get 10-12k back every year. If I owed I could not prepare returns.
That’s my routing and nope. I’ve been told it won’t until tomorrow but I’ve got yelled at that I’m spreading false info. So we’ll see. I got green dot for their advertising and no I’m kicking my ass bc I should have got net spend! Oh well I can wait till the morning if that’s the case. I will post when I get mine!
You can click my name and see every post I’ve written. It’s unkind to attack someone for no reason. Idk who the other Sarah is but she’s not very smart. I laughed when she thought sharing routing numbers is personal info. That Sarah is NOT me. I only write under @sarah21
Y’all have the WRONG SARAH! Look at the usernames no wonder why you guys are attacking me. I’m a Tax Preparer. Seriously, y’all are going in on me from another user. I’m not that person. I only write on my account!
Lol I’m a bully? Ah how? Y’all are attacking me but ok 👌 makes sense.
Okay I’m done with arguing with people ask tigerlilly green dot has a lot of cards and not all deposit the same. That’s why she goes by routing numbers. But okay good luck to everyone, if I’m wrong then I’m wrong but I’m not going to continue arguing with unknown people on the internet. I’m chillin.
I said GREEN DOT. And if people got their refunds they wouldn’t keep writing on this site. Giving people false hope, kinda sad.
Y’all are a joke. But sure. 😂🤷🏼♀️ Love it
A lot of people lie on this site. I know Green Dot doesn’t deposit early. But green dot has different cards. I’m talking about the main card. Not the money card. But hey I got tax returns to do all day. I can wait 24 hours. A lot of people will be pretty disappointed. But hey good luck lol
Before I got this card I thought this was one that gets them early found out after I filed TT/Green Dot does NOT release early. Tax refunds come on their DDD. No use checking today at all. We have less than 24 hours.
Just get as much information as you can. Some examiners are more lenient than others. It may be just a random audit for no reason. It happens.
February 24, 2020 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Holding refunds for anyone that filed in January with EIC or CTC #4375035Not true. Filed 1/13 no review here. Some are random and some are flagged, others just have previous exams.
There* sorry stupid tired today 😩
Tax Preparer here. You will need a lease that show the children on their with the address listed on her return. School records with the address. Medical records with the address. Deal with this a lot.
If let’s say they have 50/50 custody, the person who makes the most breaks the tie.
The average refund last year was $2,781. $10,000 is well beyond that.
@pikachu Not a CPA. Barely can get jobs out here being a CPA. I’m a state registered tax Preparer hopefully will pass my last Enrolled Agent test on Saturday.
Just because “you can’t do much with 10,000” doesn’t mean that’s a low refund. That’s a very odd statement to say and concerns me. A lot of people defraud the government and receive larger refunds from fraud. Or like I said you only make minimum wage with 6 kids.
EITC has income limits.
@pikachu you think 10,000 is a low refund. Ah wtf I’ve never heard of that. Unless you are making minimum wage with 6 kids I honestly don’t think 10,000 is low. I’m a Tax Preparer and 10,000 is not low
Happens a lot with Turbo and H&R Block. My clients always say they filed when I call the IRS or state they said it’s not filed. I wouldn’t ever recommend either of those.
Congrats to all you early deposits. I screwed up and got green dot instead of NetSpend. Kicking my own ass right now
Traditional banks DONT post early. You will see it on your DDD.
Lol traditional banks never release early. I’ve had a Chase and Wells. Always on DDD.
It’s the same with ALL cards and banks. It has to have primary’s name. It’s been that way forever.
Thanks guys. I guess I’m being paranoid lol. I called green dot but they were closed. I will try again tomorrow to ease my mind.
I just feel stupid bc I got the wrong prepaid (should have been Netspend)
🤞🏼 I’ll be okay my ddd is 2/26
@tigerlili_1 I’ve gone through so many pages and can’t find an answer.
DDD 2/26, green dot card.
I feel like I messed up and should have got Netspend.
I usually have my refund go into my bank (Chase) but they never deposit early.
So I got a prepaid card and I think it posts day of too. So it was pointless.
I have my own tax software because I’m a Tax Preparer so no fees. Can you verify if GreenDot Bank releases early?
February 21, 2020 at 11:04 am in reply to: If your weekly transcripts updated with 846 for 2/26 #4364958Field 1/13
Accepted 1/14
1 bar on WMR 1/15Got PATH and full transcripts 1/25 I honestly don’t think it matters
I was a test batch and still got DDD 2/26. I’ve been saying 2/26 this whole time. Kinda disappointed I was right
@Janay
You guys need to stop calling unless you get a take action. They tell you things from a script. They say that EVERY year since path to cover their asses. No tax service knows either. I’m a Tax Preparer and I don’t know for sure. My best guess is 2/26 for myself and my clients.
@rayman70 Exactly same with me for the refunds. The reason why I have thought 2/26 bc the holiday messed it up. But I’ll be stoked if I see it sooner.
I doubt that, agents are dumb. I talk to them daily for my job. I call a different line for tax practitioners but still. I get irritated with some of them. They honestly don’t know what they are talking about and have a script.
No, my experience you would have a 1095c. Not 1095a
@jstarr Don’t believe that guy. It’s not true. People come on here and just talk crap and stir the pot. Also where is redacted??
Every year we have people that do this. I don’t believe it.
If you received even one month from the marketplace it’s required on your return to reconcile payments.
I’ve been a weekly since PATH started. Before PATH I was a daily. My current cycle code is 20200405. 2019 I was 20190505. 2018 I was 20180405. 2017 I was 20170505. Someone on here said all pathers this year are weeklies. Don’t know how true that is 🤷🏼♀️
It takes forever for the balance to be assessed if you ignore the letter. My experience 6-15 months after that letter. If you plan on claiming insolvency do not sign the form. File an amended return and mail it to that address in the left corner of the notice along with a copy of that notice. As long as you really were insolvent and there was nothing else missing on that year you won’t owe. If you google insolvency form you fill out that chart. It’s your income and assets in the year it was cancelled. The IRS may ask you for that to be filled out while the amended is processing.
No they won’t take the refund because it’s a proposed balance not assessed yet.
Sorry did read the rest, the notice you got is a CP2000 or a notice of deficiency. You definitely can amend the return and claim insolvency. Good luck let me know if you have questions
It’s considered income and you have to declare it on your return, even if it was charged off. If you did not have assets or income to pay that debt in the year it was discharged. You can claim insolvency on your return which then makes the income non taxable.
@Hailie sounds about right. We charge $350 for existing clients or $450 for new clients per return. I know people who are paying $600 each.
Okay 🤦🏼♀️ lol I don’t have time to scare anyone. But okay you’re delusional. I could care less actually.
LOL you clearly don’t read. Bye
The IRS will either fix it on there own or some will rcv a notice. Clearly yours was fixed. Again not bad information. Smh I’m just not going help because people act so high and mighty on here. Good day!
It means an error. Simple as that. Period. That’s what I meant. I’m a Tax Preparer just stop arguing. Not spreading any bad info. Stop being childish.
@Target you are 100% correct Ohioman is not correct
@ohioman It is not bad information but okay lol 😂 I’ll let everyone continue with arguing like every year
Still Processing means ID verify or notice in mail. Being processed means just waiting on DDD.
Going by last year. I had the being processed message for a week before given a DDD of 2/27. So now I’m convinced my DDD will be 2/26 which sucks bc vday killed my wallet. 😒
Sorry I mean is being processed*
Filed 1/13. Accepted 1/14. PATH 1/25. It just changed to processing in the last 30 minutes. Processing date 2/10. Checked transcripts and no 846 yet. I’m thinking 2/19 or 2/26.
@redacted Got my vodka and cranberry double shot for you. Waiting on our transcript update. Cheers! Hopefully the IRS is nice to you this season
@mrsschmitty722 Right on. I have 1 more test to go to be an EA. Business. I take it Feb 29th. Right now I am just a state registered tax Preparer going on 5 years. I agree with all you said.
@jstarr I agree with those theories. But I’m prepared for my refund late Feb just in case. before PATH my refunds hit first week Feb. My transcript saying processing date 2/10 cycle code 20200405. I filed 1/13/20, accepted 1/14/20. 1 bar WMR 1/15/20, then PATH since 1/25
@jstarr What’s your theories? This year is the first year I’ve been in a test batch. Being optimistic but Ill know more tonight on my transcripts.
Transcripts update tonight. WMR will update Saturday the 15th.
@OMGNOOOOOOOOOOO you’re kidding right? 😳😢
I must say this tax year, it’s amazing to see how much this money is being put to good use. Not like the “rumored” TVs nails hair vacations alcohol. As a tax Preparer this makes me smile people are investing in their and their kids future!
1. Paying off debt on my credit report
2. Catch up on bills/daycare
3. Fix car
4. Buy new clothes for kids
5. Pay off my kids baseball bills
6. Pay my sons DC trip
7. Save for down payment on house@Maholmes
NO ONE with PATH has a DDD yet lol 😂
You sound peachy.
🙄
I’ve never had code 570. It’s not the PATH issue. If you look at the history of this board. It’s a delay in the refund and they are reviewing the return. Most were fixed on its own and people got their refunds. If it’s still there after the 15th call the IRS.
My experience I get the PATH message when my transcripts are available and complete minus 846. My tax return has been processed since January 25th. Just waiting on my DDD, which I’m sure I’ll see movement Saturday.
Filed 1/13
Accepted 1/14
1 bar 1/15
PATH and full transcripts minus 846 1/25My processing date is the 10th, previous 5 years I’ve got my DD within 10 days after processing date.
This is the first year I’ve been in a test batch though so unsure how it will go.
I’m pretty optimistic for the 19th. My DDs are Wednesday’s.
We’ll see 🤷🏼♀️
Filed 1/13
Accepted 1/14
1 Bar on WMR 1/15
PATH and full transcripts 1/25I don’t anticipate movement until the 15th.
@elled6 Your return won’t show as filed until they receive the 1095A and 8962. Could be a few weeks, especially if you mailed it. Faxing is quicker.
This information is not correct. There is no ending in the text of the law for PATH.
I don’t see anything bad about this year. How do you figure?
@dkhaley97 Same here. It’s been 10 days or earlier for me as well since PATH. My processing is 2/10. I get my DDD on Wednesday’s so I think mine will be 19th but it could be be the 26th. We shall see.
As a tax preparer and soon to be EA. This is impossible if you claimed the credits. So it’s obvious you did not claim them.
Yes 100% no exceptions. If you are entitled to some of the refund you can file injured spouse but it can take months. In these cases I would tell my clients to file separately.
