Holding refunds for anyone that filed in January with EIC or CTC

Hey all. So I’m thinking that they may be holding and reviewing refunds for those who claimed these credits and filed in January. Hubby and I both received the letter stating that our refunds are being held. What are the odds? We both filed in January and have the child and earned income credits. I am so discouraged right now. We really needed that money. Got a baby due in literally 3 weeks and our car is on its way out so we were hoping to use that money to get a new car and things for the baby. I am so overwhelmed at this point. Smh. Nothing about our situation has changed so I have no idea why they’d want to review everything

Not true. Filed 1/13 no review here. Some are random and some are flagged, others just have previous exams.

Get tax advocate! I heard they really can help expedite these types of issues.

I have those credits as well and filed in january and am getting my deposit tomorrow so it has nothing to do with the credits hence why they hold until 2/15 that’s for the credits sorry to hear they are holding your funds and you need to fix you car……and CONGRATS on the baby

I filed Jan 24th and was accepted the 27th.i have a ddd for 2-26. I don’t think that’s why this happened. Good luck tho!

what is tax topic 151? Can we all get a partial refund and let them hold whatever is “under review”?

I’m under review Tax topic 151. I’m receiving partial refund but EITC will be held and under review. They mailed CP75 today so I should be getting it soon.
