PEOPLE, if you are NOT able to order your transcript yet, please, don’t freak out or lose your mind. Just because you cannot order your transcript doesn’t mean that anything is wrong with your return.

1. The IRS no longer allows you to download your Transcript directly or view online. So even the people who can order them, have no idea what’s on them.

2. The IRS website specifically says to now allow 2-3 weeks, from the time you submit your return electronically, to order your transcripts.

& Finally, I remember last year, on this very same site, there were tons of people freaking out because they couldn’t order their transcripts or their WMR did not update, yet they still got their money the same day as they were supposed to and their WMR/Transcripts updated AFTER. Shoot, there were people who ordered their transcripts, viewed them and thought everything was good and then the day before/of their refund viewed their transcripts again only to find out they had been updated and had an offset $3,000!
Yes, you can generally figure that if your transcript is available then your taxes have been either partially or fully processed. BUT just because you can’t order your transcripts, doesn’t mean that yours hasn’t been processed either..

I’m sharing information related to what is being talked about from the Irs website. I never said it was fact or not. So, you can stop attacking people. That statement is on irs.gov. if you knew how to research you could see that yourself, before you run your mouth. I’m also an early filer and I’m expecting to have a ddd of 1/29 but I’m still at one bar on wmr. Everything I’ve seen and read has all pointed towards us early filers getting a ddd of 1/29.

I have a friend who works for the IRS. She said it takes 10 business days from the day return is accepted to get. So accepted 20th, receive DDD on 2/5. They deposit on Fridays.

@Sarah Voss, You do not know what you are talking about. The transcripts (Account) does in fact show you your ddd date. If the IRS tells you that your refund date is 2/5 and you receive it 1/29, that mean what they told you was not true. Same thing with the transcripts. They want you to believe the transcripts don’t show the ddd. Duhhhhh.

Sara, although the IRS website does state that, it also states that transcripts are not available until the return has been processed, so while it wont guarantee a date, it does mean those that can order a transcript will more than likely get their money in a few days. The last 2 previous years, the day after I was able to order a transcript, WMR updated for me. I am still unable to order one, but hopefully will be able to in the next day or so.

@tammyvamp If you were able to order your 2015 transcripts it does mean that your return is complete also note that on an occasion that there might be some issues which would cause your return to freeze but I would think in that case you would get a letter instead. Congrats your money is coming soon next day or two is when you’re bank should have your deposit.

Will ordering a transcript help me determine when I’ll get my refund?
No, a tax transcript won’t help you determine when you’ll get your refund. IRS transcripts are best and most often used to validate past income and tax filing status for mortgage, student and small business loan applications and to help with tax preparation.
The codes listed on tax transcripts don’t provide any early insight into when a refund will be issued. The best way to check on your refund is by visiting Where’s My Refund?.

Last year I filed on the 21st of January. I never got a third bar or a DDD. I ended up getting my refund on February 6th. I never got a third bar even after my refund was in my account. I filed on the same day this year so I’m hoping it gets to me around the same time.

@MCRT88 That makes sense as well. I have been reading what you just posted, and I confirm the validity of that. I think its a smart move (even though I don’t like it personally lbvs). I’m pretty new to this process, but from what I read the transcript theory can go either way. There are some folks that have gotten DD’s before they were able to order transcripts, and vise versa.

From what I gather based on that, if you can get a transcript, it seems legit that your money is on its way! So cheers to those who have it! :)

MCRT88 they got rid of the online transcripts because last year, with all the security breaches, hackers got enough information on people that they was able to log in and gain access to transcripts of many people. The IRS is working on bringing transcripts back online once they can be sure to have a better security protecting them.

I don’t know if this is 100% accurate or true for everybody, but I know that the IRS is trying to prevent people from acquiring their Transcripts before they have their Refund in hand. They actually changed it on their website, too. As it now states that:
“If you filed electronically AND you have no balance or are owed a refund then please allow 2-3 weeks after your return submission to request a transcript.”
They did this because of the last few years, transcripts became immediately (or close to it) available, and everybody and their mother were attempting to get on and order them to figure out their refund date, offsets, codes, etc. Which would in turn over load their servers causing them to have technical errors and spend more on IT support. Which is why they also got rid of the online downloading of transcripts.
SO, while some people may be claiming that they are able to order their transcripts (and I am not saying they are lying), I doubt that EVERYBODY will be able to order their transcripts immediately. It doesn’t mean that anything is wrong, just that the IRS hates us for being impatient. Lol.

Exactly@MCRT88 … If you are a mature adult who has been dealing with the IRS for YEARS, you know that this is normalcy for the Internal Revenue Service. They haven’t waivered once, from the normal processing of tax returns. I am however humored at the flood of “I want my money now” and “what’s wrong with the WMR” comments. Seriously… it’s not a issue with the IRS, the issue is with us!! Calm down. Stop getting hype over nothing because at the end of the day … the IRS will not change and honestly has not changed. They are consistent with the no updates to a week later ONLY on Wed-Sun and no updates on Mon and Tues. Consistent with ACCEPTING returns early and APPROVING after the official start date. Consistent with not sending any funds till the following Wed and/or Fri and then additional dates after the season jumps off. They won’t release one red cent until they are fiscally prepared Too and no matter how many times you call or log on….. ZERO will happen until it is time.

So lets all get some wine, sit back and wait. Post your plans with your refund whenever it comes. Treat yourself and your family. Move forward and know that next year IT WILL BE THE EXACT SAME THING. :o)

DJ last year there were people able to order their transcripts before mine were available. Mine came available a day or 2 later and we had the same dd date. They can’t possibly process them all at once so probably daily you will see more transcripts available. Still waiting on mine this year.

On another note…I keep telling you the IRS doesn’t do returns on first come first served. It would be great if they did but they don’t. Every year I see people get them after people who filed before them even without offsets or review.

I was accepted for my Federal on 1/12/16 through TT, and minutes ago went to order my transcripts. I was not able to order them at this time.

Here is the message I received when trying to obtain both transcript types:

“A transcript is not available for the year you have requested. Please complete Form 4506-T or contact us at http://www.irs.gov.”

Not sure how anyone around that same time frame is able to order them… Weird.

On TT both returns (Fed & State) show accepted, DDD of 1/19/16-2/8/16, 1st bar on the IRS site, and SBTPG shows I have an anticipated DDD date of 2/2/16.

Have not received any state (Nebraska) deposit as of today’s date as well.

General message received that reads, “Your e-filed return has been received. You can expect your refund within 7 to 21 days from the date of filing if your return is complete and free of errors. The Department may need to hold and review your return to ensure accuracy and validity. This may result in a delay of your refund.”

Anybody wondering about pending deposits to a netspend card, there won’t be any pending anything because it is a prepaid card. As soon as the irs sends the funds over to the card they are available. They don’t hold it. It’s prepaid. This is my 2nd year using the netspend card for taxes and I used it all last year for military pay roll. I got paid 6 days faster than anyone else in my military unit for using this card. Because they don’t hold the funds, there is no processing time, as soon as the funds are send over no matter what the direct deposit date is the funds become available the second they hit the card. Hope this clears up any confusion with pending deposits for this netspend card.

I was able to order my transcript this morning. I filed on the 11th & got accepted on the 11th. I wasn’t able to order transcripts until this morning. It’s a good sign

It will come. I can almost GUARANTEE that we will have WMR updated to 2 bars with DDD’s tomorrow morning..
I went through my bank history, old posts on this website, etc. and for the past 3-4 years Tax season has opened (week 1 day 1) and then the next Wednesday (week 2 day 8) WMR has updated and given DDD’s for that Friday (week 2 day 10). Last year Tax season opened on the 20th, people who filed on the 21st or before, all got their WMR updated on Weds (1/28), and had DDD’s for Friday (1/30). The year before that tax season had delays (1/31) and was a little off, but for the most part, ran about the same.
Typically, it’s about 8 days (or the 2nd weds) after the official start of tax season until WMR updates and about 10 days (or the 2nd Friday) until the first DDD. Until then, THERE IS NO REASON TO WORRY.
Now, if you filed early and you don’t have your money this Friday, WMR has updated and there is no movement THEN start panicking but for now, this all right on track with the average timeline. Everything is NORMAL. It just seems like it isn’t because of the anxiety of something going wrong, offsets, reviews and everything else that can happen in between filing and getting that paper! Lol. :)

My friend did his on the 19th and was accepted on the 19th but he is still unable to order transcripts too. This tax season kind of puts me back of 2014 when they has everyone under review…..Praying for movement soon

abt043 there are several that filed before 1/19 who said they were able to order a transcript. Scroll down the feed, you’ll see them.

Dee the IRS always told me a later date over the phone. They just want people to stop bothering them. From what it says on the IRS website, you should be able to order your transcript 2-3 weeks after your return was submitted, if it has been processed already. Maybe some people’s have already been processed. I don’t think everyone is lying.

I spoke to the IRS this morning. This is what the guy told me……

Transcripts: you must be approved and refunded BEFORE you can get a transcript. The return must be archived in order for a transcript to process.

Refund:
While my refund was accepted on 1/15 it did not begin processing until 1/20 after opening day. So it is 21 days from the date they show as accepted. He said while you could file early that it blatantly tells you on irs.gov that it will not begin processing until at earliest 1/19. So filing early got it out of the way but doesnt mean you will get a return before 2/5/16 which is the date THEY have for the first outgoing deposit.

He did say that refunds could be processed before 2/5 but he does not have any information about outgoing refunds for any earlier date.

SOOOOOO if your going to lie and say you hot a transcript or a DDD date on WMR show a screenshot. It is ridiculous to get peoples hopes up. It is also ridiculous to sit here and complain about the IRS not processing your return fast enough. You are 1 person out of millions that are filing. Wait your 21 days begore you complain. I mean damn really?!? Processing has only been in place for 7 days. I mean really?!?
