I go to irs.gov and link to a trusted and free service. I always end up choosing TaxAct. I used to use Turbo, but they are a rip-off.
February 14, 2024 at 6:27 am in reply to: Just realized the tax guy charged $700 “filing fee” from my taxes #4536035I would send him an email to ask him for an itemized breakdown of the fees. Find out the cost of everything he did for you. I recommend email so you have written proof to show the AG or the company he represents. Do this right away! Don’t let this snake take your money!

Maybe, when the banks open we might get our $$$. I’m at a credit Union and that’s usually how they run.
@Rickjames
I like the sound of your answer! Will keep you posted.
I’m a very freaky girl, the kind you can’t take home to mother :-)
Hey hey hey HEY!
I paid my fees upfront. What can I expect?
Where are the mods?
For those of us that had “STILL” processing, it meant we were under a 60 day review. However, a large group of us were updated (transcripts only) on Thursday morning (all were surprised!) This morning, 2/29, our WMR updated (returned bars).
IRS has a lot of stories and reasons for this, so prepare for the headache and try to focus on something else (hard to do, right!).
Pray, pray, pray!
Haven’t had a bar since I filed on 1/31/2020.
Today, 2/29/2020/ I have 2 bars!
I was told last week I was under review. Woke up yesterday and transcripts were available (had been blank). Transcripts said refund issued 3/4!!! Funny though, I got my letter yesterday too.“IRS”, rhymes with “stress”
@S refund issue date is on transcripts –
you can order transcripts at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
February 28, 2020 at 5:08 am in reply to: ‘Under review. Nothing you can do. Starting 3/9…’ #4385094Check your transcripts folks. Some of us have updated! I have had “zero” movement on WMR & transcripts – finally got a refund date 3/4. I checked at 4:50 am EST.
Same here. Was told I should get a 4464C letter and “under 60 day review”.
All of my transcripts, except “wage & income, have poster with a refund issued date for 3/4.
Never got a letter. Just been praying that I can make it that long without car repairs!Kris
@irishprincesdDid the IRS explain why you were under review, or what flagged them? Did you use a tax advocate?
many taxpayers who file legitimate returns waited weeks or months for a return in the past year because of a new fraud filter.
The agency answered only 29 percent of the 100 million telephone calls it got during the 2019 fiscal year.
Must read article!
