Hello, Could anyone let me know what the estimated time will be for a check or DD to my account once the offsets have dropped off. The first offset for taxes for my husband dropped off and then the offset for the stimulus dropped off. It states a refund date of 11/6/20 for tax refund on my tax transcript. Could anyone let me know what this all…[Read more]

    • You’re not alone! I haven’t received anything or any letters.

    • Me either. No letters no check no nothing.

    • Me either. Nothing, no communication no check no letter and no one at the IRS can tell me anything other than it is a “known issue” will be lucky if I even see it this year considering it took 6 months to get my taxes back, too little too late.

For some reason, we only got half of our taxes back for 2019 for my husband’s IS. Shouldn’t he get 100% back since he’s the injured spouse and he’s the only one that payed taxes? Or is the stimulus payment showing up on the transcripts? Code 766 for $1950. I thought that was half his stimulus since we were owed $3900.

Stimulus receivers ….. how long after receiving your IS refund did you receive your stimulus. My TA says most EIP’s are automatically issued 3 or so weeks after. But with it taking 6 months to receive my money I didn’t know if there are other factors at play.

I called the IRS today to ask them about my half of the stimulus check. Yesterday I received a letter saying that my half of the stimulus has arrived but there was no check with it. My whole 3900 stimulus was offset twice and they just now sent me a letter say my 1950 has arrived. So i called to see if they mailed it yet and the man from IRS said…[Read more]

I outreached my congressman and that sped up the process some. The congressman’s assistant did tell me that someone from the IRS would call me, and that it would be from a phone number typically out of state and that number could not receive calls. Someone from the IRS actually did call they provided their name and badge number and told me they…[Read more]

    • Sorry I didn’t specify this is for the stimulus payment. My half was withheld

I just got a letter today saying that I’m approved for my half of the stimulus but there was no check. has anyone else received the same letter? And have they got their check yet?

    • @Tim L. Yes I received that same letter today! I received my check about 3 weeks ago so I don’t know why I received another letter.

    • @robycry2020 how long after you received your tax refund that you received your half of the stimulus?

    • I received my stimulus about a month ago and received my tax refund in early June. I would say around 4 months but every case is different. You could receive yours sooner.

I FINALLY!!! got my check. 6 months! 6 whole months having to wait but I’m grateful i finally received it. They are still working on my stimulus which i don’t quite understand. If you know it’s due back to me then what is there to work on.

so just spoke with IRS and they advised that they sent a paper check on Sept 18th and it came back even though they confirmed correct address on file. They stated they canceled check and monies went back into the fund and that I now have to wait till next tax year to claim this extra credit. This seems totally unfair that they cannot do anything…[Read more]

I received a letter a few weeks back that states I am approved to get my portion of the stimulas since I filed injured spouse form when doing my taxes end of January and the “Get my payment” tool also states I am approved but no status of when I will receive my check. I do not have direct deposit. I have waited so long for this much needed…[Read more]

    • @Mel I haven’t received anything on my portion of the stimulus – no letters and the “Get my payment” tool hasn’t updated at all.

I saw your other post too. If you updated with a direct deposit can they give you the money? You can use direct deposit feature on pre-paid cards if you don’t have a checking account. I’m sorry they are doing that to you.

    • @HeatherD I did just see where I was able to do that and went ahead and put in new account info, hopefully that works. When I spoke with the man at the IRS he did not tell me that was an option, basically said there was nothing they can do and I would have to wait till next tax season. Figured it doesn’t hurt at this point though and try so went…[Read more]

    • @Mel I don’t know what state you live in, but you should most certainly contact your congressman and let them know how poorly you were treated. That is horrific! That guy should be fired! I hope that putting in the account info helps. Maybe try calling back. I was told that it is best to call after 5 p.m. and let the first round operator know…[Read more]

@HeatherD , thanks I think I will go ahead and contact our congressman. I will probably go ahead and try calling after 5pm too. appreciate you reaching out with the advise and truly hope you receive yours soon.

I just received the best news! My Tax Advocate said they finally worked my IS form and said it should go out in the next 5 days. I can’t believe it this is the best news ever. We have been struggling big time what a relief it will be to get this money back. Although they are still working on my 1/2 of the stimulus.

So we are in Ohio. We are seeing everyone getting their stimulus and we are so happy for you guys. Every time we can the IRS all they say is they are working on catching up. Nothing specific to our case or when we should expect something. This makes.me so angry that we can’t get any kind of update.

    • @David. I understand your frustration and know that it is irking to have to patiently wait, especially when it has been 6 months. I have been working since April, have a disabled husband, and 4 little ones and it has been hard. I hope that there are better safeguards in place for any stimulus deal that is reached in the future. Keep your head…[Read more]

Am I the only one left that hasn’t received their half of the stimulus?

  • Robcry2020 posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 1 month, 3 weeks ago

My half of the stimulus arrived in the mail today!! So glad it is over!

  • Stacy posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Informed delivery says I have a check coming in the mail today! I already received my refund with interest so I am praying this is my stimulus!

    • FINALLY!!!!!!! Received my half of stimulus today! Now let’s hope that if another stimulus package gets passed that we don’t have to go through this again.

    • CONGRATULATIONS!!! I figured that they were mailed out last Friday and the dd was this past Wednesday!! I am still looking for mine in the mail. Im in AR and I know you are in MO so you got yours sooner! Once again CONGRATULATIONS!

    • Congratulations! I still haven’t received anything since the first letter. When I called they said I would get mine within 60 days, so fingers crossed something comes soon!

  • Amber posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 1 month, 3 weeks ago

I just called IRS and a gentleman told me that a check for exactly half of what we would have received as a family would be mailed tomorrow, 10/2. Woo hoo! I’m thankful for anything at this point.

I’m in total shock. I checked my bank account today and there was my half of the stimulus. FYI..I had received 2 offset letters for the stimulus and my refund was offset as well. This has been an exhausting time but I’m grateful. The money is on the way everyone just hang in there. Good luck and best wishes to everyone.

So this morning I received an email from TurboTax saying I would be receiving my refund within the next business day , which I blew off because I received my refund last month. I then checked my bank account like I do every morning and saw that my half of the stimulus was deposited! I guess they figured out how to fix the glitch for those of us…[Read more]

    • Still have not received mine. I don’t know if I will get dd or a check/card. My first 1444 form said dd but the 2nd one I got said it would be a check/debit card

    • @stacy I honestly wasn’t expecting to even receive it this year the way things have gone for us injured spouses so far. I received my refund via paper check so I assumed it would be the same for the stimulus if I did get it. I hope you get yours soon !

    • @wgjm did your offset line ever update?

    • I just checked it and no it is still saying the full amount was offset.

    • That gives me hope. Thank you!

    • I keep checking mine daily, but no change yet. This at least gives me hope that they are still working on the issue. I haven’t received a second 1444 or anything new. When I called I was told that it was being referred to someone that could fix the issue and I should receive it within 60 days. I just hope that I didn’t get the runaround on…[Read more]

We were part of the glitch that took both tax refund AND stimulus payment despite filing WITH the IS form. F/A January 30. 2 weeks ago, we finally got the stimulus check, but still no tax refund, and transcripts show nothing has been worked on past when they mistakenly took the refund. I’m starting to think we won’t see 2019 refund until 2021,…[Read more]

However, if you submitted a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, separate from your return, the IRS automatically reissued the portion of the payment due to the non-liable spouse, but the EIP was offset again. The IRS is aware of this issue, and no action is needed. We are working to resolve the issue and will mail the applicable portion of the…[Read more]

    • The IRS has updated their faqs page! Wonder how long before the problem is fixed 😔

    • Hopefully not too much longer! It seems there only a few of us left in this group that hasn’t gotten their stimulus. Let’s make sure we update each other with any new info. I call the offset line daily and still no change :-(

    • @Stacy I will keep everyone posted on my end! I am getting desperate but I hope it’s here before Christmas smh
