So our taxes were filed and accepted on February 11th. I just tried pulling up our transcripts to see where they were at. For 2020 it says N/A….anyone have an idea why it’s not showing up yet?

Hello! Has anyone who filed injured spouse with taxes this year get a refund yet? I’m worried that mine will take longer to arrive since I efiled injured spouse with my return! I wish I would have known sooner that the irs was not going to offset this year!

So I checked my transcripts this morning and my 846 code was there!! Filed on 2/10, was accepted on 2/12. Got my 846 code this morning with date of 3/3/21. I didn’t file IS this year for my wife’s student loan and we are getting our full refund amount. Something good actually came of the pandemic for once. This is by the far the quickest we’…[Read more]

Has anyone else not filed IS this year due to collections being paused on student loans? This is my first year in the last several not filing. Offset line shows I have the offset but when I call the DOE it states that collections are paused until end of Sept. Hoping this means a faster refund but also wondering if I should have still filed IS just…[Read more]

I filed before I knew they weren’t offsetting. Still says there is an offset on the phone so I filed IS just in case… accepted 2/10 and no updates
-
Mine is on the hotline too. It would make sense that it is because we do still have a debt owed but I feel like they should add a little note to the end stating that it will not be collected this year 🤷♀️
-
This is weird offset line shows no offset for hubby’s cs. But I know he owes it. We filed IS anyhow because I am the only one working right now. And we are in community property state which sucks. Hopefully they don’t take it this year. I have an as of date of 3/8

Hello everyone! I received my State taxes this morning:) Yayyyy! But… When I took a look at my transcript it said I didn’t file and it has no information at all. Only stimulus information. Anyone else has this problem?
-
@MrsJackson some people are able to view their transcripts for this season, and some people cant. I don’t know why, however, I am able to view mines. I had a question. Is your IS for CS or DOE? Every year my state taxes are garnished by CS and I want to know if I can change this, I live in Arkansas.
-
@robcry2020 my IS for DOE, I live in New Haven CT.

Just wanted to update those who I shared with in early January that I had taken the risk and not filed IS in hopes that the student loan flexibility would be extended. Well a few weeks ago the Dept. of Ed said they would not offset refunds but I am still always extremely skeptical of what the IRS will and won’t do so I held my breath. I did r…[Read more]

Thanks @leedaporter. I needed something in my favor took over a month to get the stimulus. Seems like we all, especially those filing IS get screwed over every year. Hoping you see a DDD soon!
-
Nice! Definite congrats. Risk got reward this time! I like seeing good things happen to people.
-
@soundclutch thanks so much! Praying you aren’t far behind.

filed IS with tax return, received 2/10. On 570 code additional account action pending with date of 3/8. Here’s to the start of my wait
-
Likewise, 570-3/08
-
Same here. Wonder why the 3/8. I know its probably an obvious answer but I knew there would be a wait so I didn’t even care to check transcripts until now.
-
I got 570 code today with 3/15 date, I hope I get refund faster this year, last yr filed early jan got excepted mid jan didn’t get refund till 4/29/2020

so get this, still have not received my half of the stimulus from last April. It was set to release today. My husband called the agency and they said they had not received any information from the IRS regarding injured spouse. Luckily they are still holding the funds. How do they not have a record of the IS form if I received my part of the…[Read more]

My husband doesn’t owe that much back child support anymore so we decided to not file the IS this year and let them just go ahead and take the offset amount. Does anyone know if we will have to wait because of the offset? Or will they deposit as normal?
-
It should be as normal they will take what you owe and child support will send you what’s left I think
-
Yes we did the same thing they can only take what’s owed
-
@Theresa so I shouldn’t have to wait for the remainder? I’ll get it back as normal?
-
I’m not 100% sure but I would guess that’s how it works! I didn’t think about that part it doesn’t matter to me I couldn’t do another year of IS and after the stimulus situation yeah not that much left that’s owed
-
I’m curious about this also. I have state taxes owed that are much less than what we’ll be getting back this year. I usually file IS, but was wondering if I don’t file IS and let them take it, how quickly will they release the remaining refund? Will it take several weeks much like filing IS anyway, or will it be within a few weeks as with a…[Read more]

Hello all. I filed Jan 30 with IS form. Accepted Feb 10 or 11 I don’t remember…lol
My transcript is only showing for stimulus… The top 2 options still show N/A.I was lucky last year as I got my return before stimulus and although it was a pain I received my half of stimulus after it was offset for hubby’s cs around oct.
Hopefully it will…[Read more] -

I have a question. My husband went to a tax place to file. I have no income this yr. Im one who owes cs. We filed IS electronically and this yr we will get a good amount. But the lady told him they will take my portion. Is that true i thought that was the WHOLE point to file IS. ESPECIALLY since i dont have income this year. Please lmk
-
No they will not take your portion and since you didn’t have any income y’all will get your full refund back!
-
Did you file injured spouse with your refund? Or after?
-
Theresa yes we did it today with our return
-
Ok was asking because if you filed it seperately then I think your refund would be offset until the injured spouse form is processed. But yeah you will get your full amount back since you didn’t have any income its just going to be a super long wait unfortunately. I’m not sure why a tax professional would give false information!
-
It also depends if you live in a Community Property State.

Well it’s that time of the year again, filled electronically with IS 1/29 and excepted 2/10. Let’s see how long it takes this year. Good luck to everyone out here.
